Reviews for Séjours & Affaires Caen Le Clos Beaumois
Review 1:Not a great location if you wanted to walk to a late dinner.
Review 2:Affordability couldn't be beat and loved the amenities we were able to get at that price.
Review 3:The room is clean with kitchen. There is an on site parking space. Although the reception was close when we arrived, it is still possible to get in the room.
Review 4:Residential location but close to city center (manageable on foot)
Review 5:Cooking facilities in the room; very good value for money. They brought a baby bed even though we asked it after the reception was closed. Clean and modern room and we had a balcony.
Review 6:Visiting their website with photo we expected an extra room! Complaints direction the reception were professionally waved away...
Review 7:Place is close to center
Review 8:Bathroom a bit tired. Kitchen area cramped. Cooker to sink and food dishes work area too small. Breakfast too expensive for a family of 3, €18 per day for 3, so visited the local shop and had croissants, fresh orange, tea or coffee which worked out at €4 a day for 3. Saving over three nights of approx €42 !! That's almost what we paid for a meal out for 3 which averaged €60.
Review 9:Functional and easily reached, ideal location. Clean and tidy.
Review 10:Location and views of neighbouring properties poor though outside of hotels control plus visible on street view so was aware.
Review 11:Very nice staff with superb English, well organised arrival process. Ample parking and nearby to several places of interest, parks and shops. Facilities within room excellent.
Review 12:The car park is gated off. This is fine, extra level of security. However, it would be helpful if a buzzer was added to ring through to reception to let you through. The barrier does not open automatically.
Review 13:Very comfortable apart-hotel. Well located, just off the ring road and a short walk from the city centre of Caen with its numerous attractions.
Review 14:The only complaint would be that the kitchenette could be a little more equipped. Tea cups were a little small and we could have done with an egg turner!
Review 15:The staff where extremely friendly and made us feel very welcome, even with our two doggies.
Review 16:It was conveniently situated, we could walk to the old town and to the university. It was a safe area even at night..safe parking. The staff were both very pleasant and helpful . I will use it again
Review 17:There is no A/C so with windows open you smell cigarette smoke, closed you suffocate. Getting into the parking lot is confusing, the bed is actually a futon, the shower didn't drain properly, and the dryers ruined my clothes.
Review 18:Some of the staff were quite helpful while others seemed bothered by my presence.
Review 19:I loved the way we were greeted with a smile every day by every staff member. It's location was excellent for travelling into town and the parking was really assuring. I would visit again for sure, plus there is lots to see in Caen.
Review 20:great that they offer somewhere safe for cycles to be kept, but having to take two touring bikes through the hotel, down a small lift, through two tiny corridors, through a creepy underground carpark and into a dark side room wasn't ideal. I guess nobody would have found our bikes there though let alone steal them!
Review 21:Really clean, bright room. Heaps of space. Well set out. Friendly desk staff. Cycle Friendly!
Review 22:No bad experience, the view wasn't very good - derelict building at the back but it didn't take from the good value for money accommodation.
Review 23:Well maintained apartment, spotless throughout. Easy walking access to town centre. Easy to get to from Peripherique.
Review 24:Floor tiles were full of hair and broom supplied was a mass of hair bundles. No hot water, fuse kept tripping leaving no water heater. Had to call reception to reset and then wait 2 hours for hot water. After 2 nd night , we changed our room. Location is close to town , but the outlook is of derelict empty , graffitied buildings and industrial.
Review 25:Staff were very helpful and near to town. Secure parking @ 6 euro a day.
Review 26:The in room info was in French only and my French wasn't up to understanding how to work the in room temperature. The choice at breakfast was limited.
Review 27:We had a one bedroom apartment that was perfect for our needs. The cost represented excellent value for the facilities and proximity to the ring road and attractions of Caen. The guy on reception spoke good English and was very helpful.
Review 28:Beds are not comfortable and when you open the bed no place remaining in the room.
Review 29:Location and pre management was good such as the access codes , room and all was ok.
Review 30:Good location, ideal for access to ferry terminal but also within 5-10 min walk of Caen centre and the bars and restraunts Rooms comfortable and clean, easy carparking right outside, Also within easy reach of the D-Day beaches and memorials
Review 31:The weather was quite hot, no air conditioning so we had to open the windows. The hotel is near clubs with live music. Not a quiet location. The shower leaked terribly all over the bathroom floor.
Review 32:Good location. Clean, attractive rooms.
Review 33:We used this apartment as a base for exploring. Although the apartments are quite small it contained everything you need. The hotel also had laundry facilities that came in handy too.
Review 34:The hotel person gave us the wrong key, and made us three persons sleep in one bed. They promised to return the money but no one has contact with me yet.
Review 35:Expensive and even charged extra for the car park. Reception staff not very helpful. General air of "couldn't care less" about the place.
Review 36:Good beds, big room.
Review 37:No idea about requiring codes to access carpark, hotel and room if arriving out of hours. Not so easy to find - some guess work required. First night was on an uncomfortable sofabed in a small room (a twin bed room was requested on the booking. Was upgraded to twin bed room without any hassle, thus saving themselves a poor review).
Review 38:Convenient location, just 10 minutes walk from cafes and bars. Clean and tidy, loads of hot water for showers. Breakfast is ok'ish. Staff very pleasant and easy to deal with. Hotel easy to access from ring road, parking good. The Castle is worth looking around if you have time.
Review 39:staff very good because I actually got the booking wrong but they sorted it out. We arrived off the ferry exhausted but had a key code to get in and a safety box with our room key. Had a great night's sleep
Review 40:The night lights buls next to the bed in the bedroom are way too bright. It should just be enough for reading or for the kids to sleep with the lights on at night
Review 41:The sleeping room separate from the kitchen is great to keep the kids separate for sleeping.
Review 42:you need to give a better explanation how to get your key once you are in the building. as well as the barrier and door codes. fortunately someone gave me the barrier code and some students rang the emergency number and got an explanation how to use the the number you gave to open the safe and get my key!!!
Review 43:handy from ferry then good access to motor way south or to paris
Review 44:Those who don't like walking may find it a little far from the city centre but it did look as though it was close to a main bus route. The location is a combination of industrial and high-rise residential, but if you're only there for one night don't let that put you off.
Review 45:Convenient location for early ferry access. The well equipped kitchen means that if you plan to arrive late you can bring a pre-cooked meal and warm it up at your own convenience without having to worry about finding a restaurant or take-away. Parking is secure. Receptionist very helpful and spoke very good English. Fridge in kitchen good for storing all those little treats that you might be taking to your ultimate destination.
Review 46:Not in a great location. a little awkward especially if you don't have a car. the kitchen is ok, better utensils for the fry pan would be useful like a flipper.
Review 47:Value for money, friendly staff and comfortable
Review 48:Quality and size of the bed. For a couple queen size would work much better.
Review 49:Late arrival without any problem Secured parking Good value for the money Clean
Review 50:Parking was six Euros per day which seemed slightly excessive but it was very secure.
Review 51:Good, secure parking in a quiet area of Caen. Own transport is recommended. Arrival when reception desk is open is highly recommended because PINs are required for access to the car park and building. Bed and sofa bed very comfortable. Very clean living/dining room. Would stay here again.
Review 52:GPS and Mapquest took me straight to the location, but the hotel was located behind a wall and the entrance was not clearly marked. I had to ask the locals for the entrance, but couldn't enter with my car, because I needed a special code to open the barrier gate. I had to walk around the gate and hike into the office.
Review 53:Clean, comfortable room. Fairly affordable.
Review 54:You need to call beforehand to get your parking gate's combination. Otherwise when you get in front of the gate you probably wait in despair and call the help desk fnally. Room was not very well furnished.
Review 55:Fiendly staff
Review 56:From the photos and the description of the accommodation booked (studio), I was under the impression that there was a separate living area. I was very disappointed when I found that the studios do not have a separate living area. This was one of the main reasons for booking this accommodation. Please change the misleading information. The shower is very small and badly designed.
Review 57:The staff was very helpful and the facilities modern and clean. Real value for money.
Review 58:Extremely limited kitchen space. View of wasteland from window. Car parking charges.
Review 59:Location in a quiet residential area but near enough to the centre. Good general facilities.
Review 60:Sleeper couch as opposed to a bed. The room is extremely small. The room smelt of cigarette smoke
Review 61:Staff very friendly and helpful. Hotel and room clean. Quiet area.
Review 62:The shower door leaked badly soaking all my clothes I had left on the floor which was a pain.
Review 63:Located in central Caen with loads of secure parking make this an ideal city hotel. We were travelling with 3 children (youngest in a travel cot) and did not feel cramped.
Review 64:The bed was a pullout sofa instead of a proper bed. It basically took up the entire floor space. I have never paid this amount of money for a hotel room and been made sleep on a makeshift bed.
Review 65:The location
Review 66:Small kitchen area. Staff didnt speak much english, but then I dont speak any french. No toaster or way of heating bread. no oven.
Review 67:Was very clean, tidy. I was on the end so had a window in the living area.
Review 68:Breakfast was a shambles. One poor lady to clear away.Hours are between 0700 and 0900. Went in at 0800 and all criossants and pain de raisin had gone and had to wait for 20mins. for them to be replenished.Seems to be a home for students which is not broadcast.
Review 69:Check in easy.
Review 70:I was staying at the hotel with my 16 year old son, on a trip to take in all the history of WW2 in Normandy. But on arrival we had only one double bed, i went to reception and enquired about another room with two single beds only to be told the hotel was full. I then asked if we could have a single bed brought to the room, told not at this time of day,and no bed was brought to the room at all which i think is totally unacceptable. Also there was no room service for the five days, no towel changes nothing.
Review 71:not too far from the centre of Caen and its in a fairly quiet area.
Review 72:A toaster in the apartment would have been good since they had everything else. Otherwise, I can't complain.
Review 73:Very clean, comfortable, functional apartment. The kitchen is fully furnished (even dish sponge and soap). Very convenient for all the attractions, which are a 15-minute walk away; also a short walk to shops and restaurants. Ample parking (for a small fee). The staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 74:No toaster which would have been useful. No airconditioning and it was very hot when we stayed there.
Review 75:good value for money, ability to cater for ourselves, good sized fridge, excellent parking.
Review 76:The location is slightly out of the town centre - but that suited our use on this trip. Very easy access to the road to the Caen ferry.
Review 77:Very good facilities. I liked the secure parking area and the out of hours access. Our room was made up for our children - the sofa bed had been made before we arrived. It could not have been easier.
Review 78:Mosquitoes! Due to the very warm weather, so beware, take mozzi killers. Towels should have been changed every 2 days.
Review 79:Excellent location for those who aren.t afraid of a walk (15 MINS) into the centre and a lovely district jammed packed with gorgeous restuarants.(Rue de Levgaux). Very good location to visit the WW2 beaches and other sites. Very quiet location. Staff very pleasant and polite and nothing was too much trouble.
Review 80:Bedsit in training, what a dump! Strange trundle bed system of tiny floor-level roll-around hiding under another tiny, squeaky one which we had to work out ourselves to turn 'studio' (bedsit). Once the beds were assembled not much room to swing a cat although plenty of opportunities to bang legs. Fridge droned loudly all night, could hear the quiet shufflings of other guests through plywood doors and the bathroom became a hazardous wetroom post trickled musty-smelling shower.
Review 81:Friendly staff, location
Review 82:It should be more clear that there is not room cleaning service everyday. They provide cots for kids, but they did not provide proper linen for them.
Review 83:location, Easy to access from motorway yet an easy walk into town.
Review 84:Dirty bathroom very small Breakfast awful lots of things had run out but they didnt replenish
Review 85:Good bed
Review 86:the toilet seat wasn't even attached to the toilet
Review 87:secure carpark was very good in a very congested area
Review 88:Arrangements for late arrival easy and clear
Review 89:difficult to find the location,
Review 90:easy access

Review 105:Big room, two televisions
Review 106:Was not expecting to have to sleep on a sofa bed. Not comfortable at all.
Review 107:Location great for visiting Caen centre.
Review 108:Unfortunately our shower was blocked and flooded all over the bathroom floor. Except for that it was fine and suited our purpose.
Review 109:The rooms were still dirty with dirty sheets and towels left from the previous guests
Review 110:Nothing was positive
Review 111:Split bed & access to laundry 24/7 but working only when staff are on
Review 112:big room & helpful staff
Review 113:Close to town and plenty of parking
Review 114:Kettle provided but no coffee or milk.
Review 115:Very central with very helpful staff.
Review 116:view over empty factory site. would not like to walk out of hotel car park at night.
Review 117:room very good, good shower, and kitchen. good value.
Review 118:The beds could have been a lot better but served the purpose
Review 119:Friendly staff, cleanliness, kitchen and bathroom facilities were good.
Review 120:For walking a bit far from city centre and no pavement for 300 m.
Review 121:Kitchen, quiet, price,

Review 127:The bathroom was dirty and water was very little. There was a very bad smell at the kitchen.
Review 128:the bed and the internet was good. Tv was working well
