Reviews for L'Hôtel Particulier

Review 1:The breakfast was amazing and free. Usually you pay 20eu and get something simple and miserable. But this was not the case. Everything was fresh and tasty, nice variety of things. Very well designed and everything new. Very enjoyable stay.

Review 2:This is very picky but there was only one pillow per person which we found a little uncomfortable. The lovely owner assured me he would buy more pillows that day.

Review 3:The friendly proprietor welcomed us help us find the secure parking which gave us piece of mind as we had lots of luggage in the car. We were en route to the Alps and this provided a great overnight stop. Huge modern rooms with beautiful bathrooms, Nespresso Coffee Maker and kettle. Breakfast was lovely and included in the price. Plenty of places for dinner nearby.

Review 4:This is a beautifully modernised French building which has a history back to 18th Century. An oasis of calm and well being. The owner is particularly (!) attentive and nothing is too much trouble. Highly recommended!

Review 5:There would be benefit from having a small fridge. Public parking was free but required a little finding.

Review 6:Warm welcome from owner who was attentive and gave good advice on local amenities. Excellent breakfast and all round service.

Review 7:Despite having the radiators turned on all night, the room was on the cold side.

Review 8:Spacious, clean and stylish. The beautifully renovated house is in a great location just a short walk away from the two main squares. The breakfast was very good and the owner was extremely helpful.

Review 9:Located on a narrow side street where on street car parking was a virtual no no at our time of arrival (4pm in school holidays). We gave up looking and rented one of the hotels underground garages. Certainly very safe and secure for15 euros. There was no handwash basin in the toilet.

Review 10:The owner was very welcoming and hospitable. The decor and facilities of the large rooms had a wow factor and I mean "wow". The breakfast was exceptionally presented. The key features of the town centre were only a few minutes walk away.

Review 11:Brilliant house beautifully restored by owner. Very spacious rooms. Excellent breakfast. Nearest restaurant less than 5mins & it's good food & value. 10 mins from main squares. Excellent

Review 12:The Host was so nice and helpful, coudnt do enough for you, hotel is beautifully decorated, rooms are large and very comfortable even the continental breakfast was first class. Would love to stay there longer next time

Review 13:the hotel is downtown in the old city of Arras. It is a little tricky to find but get to Boulevard Carnot and it is easy from there.

Review 14:This is a boutique hotel at everyday pricing. The value is outstanding! I can't recommend this facility high enough.

Review 15:A gem really near the centre of Arras. Private and therefore secure garage. Beautifully appointed rooms. Fabulous breakfast. Spacious junior suite. Everything thought of. Really friendly and helpful owner

Review 16:An outstanding but discreet city hotel with quiet gardens to the rear and private underground parking across the road. A relaxed environment with high spec rooms and stylish decor! Jean-Pierre was a delightful host who spoke perfect English. Breakfast was a work of art. Within easy walking distance of the city centre.

Review 17:Parking can be difficult but there is a garage available for €15 per night

Review 18:This hotel is lovely and clearly a lot of thought and attention to detail has gone into every aspect of it. The owner is a nice bloke who even walked us into town to show us where things were. The continental breakfast is excellent, again, a lot of thought has gone into it. Our room was excellent as were the facilities. Arras is a nice town with two main squares with a few restaurants and bars surrounded by shopping streets. I would definitely stay again.

Review 19:Just couldn't fault it!

Review 20:Beautifully renovated building, perfectly situated in the charming town of Arras. Delicous breakfast and really friendly welcome from the owner, Jean-Francois making it a thoroughly enjoyable stay.

Review 21:Parking a bit tricky in the side streets around the hotel or in their small underground space. A little bit of a walk to the main town centre (Places) but not impossible.

Review 22:A beautiful old town house recently converted into a luxury bed and breakfast hotel. Very friendly and welcoming owner.

Review 23:There really was nothing to dislike at this hotel.

Review 24:Everything - I would have liked to stay a few days here...for us it was a stopover en route to Paris after a late crossing. Delightful short stay.

Review 25:A shelf in the elegant shower room would have been useful!

Review 26:Delightful small hotel perfectly situated in quiet street, easy walking distance to centre of Arras. Beautifully refurbished and decorated building with walled garden, spacious comfortable bedroom. Excellent breakfast. Friendly, helpful proprietor.

Review 27:A warm and modern hotel in a beautiful ancient building with an outstanding host! Perfect French petit dejeuner, hotel also suitable for young kids, room very spacious, outstanding bathroom!

Review 28:Car parking is on street or in an underground garage opposite the hotel. Don't let this stop you visiting - the staff make up for any small inconvenience.

Review 29:Very well presented hotel within a short walk of the old town. Extremely helpful owners who live on site and helped with car parking and carrying suitcases when they could easily have left us to it.

Review 30:Nothing. Perfect in every way.

Review 31:The internal decor was outstanding, perfect in every way. The breakfast was wonderful with plenty of choice. The hotel was ideally situated for visiting the old town. I would highly recommend this hotel to any visitors to Arras.

Review 32:Apart from the excellent accommodation the fact that when we phoned to say we could not find the hotel the owner immediately said he would drive to where we were in the Grand Place and guide us to the hotel and to a parking space shows a real desire to provide top quality service.

Review 33:Nothing

Review 34:Absolutely brilliant. The owner came to find us when we were lost! Everything in the room was new and lovely. Bed very comfortable. Whole building is tastefully decorated.

Review 35:That I had to leave after only one night!

Review 36:This was an amazing hotel. A restored private mansion in Arras, the room was huge, overlooking the garden. The furnishings were very modern, contrasting with the very traditional architecture.

Review 37:Okay, maybe a lamp above the mirror in the bathroom, for shaving for men and for doing hair for women

Review 38:The host is wonderful, every detail in the hotel is perfect! Could not be better!!

Review 39:The owner of the hotel was really helpful and accommodating. The hotel was beautifully maintained and cool. We were delayed by 4 hours due to tunnel crossing and so arrived at midnight. We called him to let him know and he emailed us with the code for the hotel and for our room so we could let ourselves in. He then waited up and showed us to our room, which was lovely.

Review 40:Only having the time to stay for one night!

Review 41:Excellent modern interior design, great location for easy walk into city centre. Continental breakfast very good and the owner very attentive, helpfull and friendly.

Review 42:The owner was extremely helpful and friendly. Breakfast outside on the terrace was a pure delight - the garden was lovely and the food good. The location is very handy for walking into town to get to restaurants or tourist attractions. Parking is on the street.

Review 44:Very cosy, stylish hotel (only 6 individual rooms), warm welcome by the owner, wonderful garden where the rich breakfast is served. Calm although perfectly located in the center of Arras.

Review 45:We loved our four nights in this wonderful establishment. The room was spacious with plenty of storage. The bathroom was huge with both a shower as well as a large soaker tub. The breakfast was lovely with a good selection of foods. It can be taken inside or out in the garden. The service was friendly and attentive. There is covered parking available but also plenty of free parking on the street. The hotel is only a short walk from the main squares with shops, a large range of restaurants and the tourism office. We would highly recommend this fabulous boutique hotel.

Review 46:There is no sink in the toilet and it is necessary to go all the way around through the bedroom to the bathroom to wash one's hands!

Review 47:This is a new hotel in a quiet part of town, a short walk from the 2 main squares. Friendly and professional welcome. The hotel is in a beautiful former private house, in French, an hôtel particulier, hence it's name and has been very tastefully decorated.the very good buffet breakfast is served in a room giving onto the garden. Unfortunately the rain prevented us from having it outdoors. The bedroom is beautiful and very comfortable We highly recommend l'Hotel Particulier.

Review 48:An absolutely fabulous hotel. Only booked for one night but could of quite happily stayed there for longer but schedule did not allow. If visiting Arras and surrounding area you could not ask for more.

Review 49:Small boutique hotel, owner-run, very quiet: no frills, just very comfortable and excellent service. We had my 94 year-old father with us. The owner could not have been more helpful with him or more charming generally.

Review 50:No response to front door before 5pm - inconvenient having to find entertainment for young child after long trip. Though everything about the place was new and glamorous, not all of it was practical to use - e.g, hi-tech coffee maker in room without instructions, breakfast items stylishly (awkwardly) stacked on tiny central table. I hope the hosts iron out these minor bedding in issues because they have clearly spent a lot of time, money and effort in creating a beautiful setting and deserve to make a success of this venture.

Review 51:Super chic, glam, clean and luxurious interiors. Lovely garden. Friendly and responsive host (when free). Excellent price for the quality.

Review 52:Stepping through the imposing door to discover stunning design pieces, beautiful decor and a bedroom of pure luxury. Jean Francois our host was delightful and breakfast a real treat with perfect coffee!

Review 53:A little gem in the centre of Arras. Only recently acquired by the present owner, Jean-Francois, and beautifully fitted out. Huge attention to detail and Jean-Francois could not have been more welcoming. The perfect base from which to explore Arras and the surrounding WW! memorials and cemeteries.

Review 54:Looking at the exciting designer light bulbs in the hall gave me a headache... but I couldn't resist it.

Review 56:All good!

Review 57:When it was discovered that our family room reservation had not been booked as such, the staff prepared an extra bed in our room. Really helpful.

Review 58:What a beautiful hotel at a beautiful location. The hotel is located in a very quiet part of Arras, only 10 minutes walk from the Grand Place. The hotel has beautiful rooms and a very nice, quiet garden. The service is personal and everything you can wish for

Review 59:Parking is free in the streets around the hotel but you have to be a bit lucky to get a parking place in the proximity of the hotel

Review 62:Its not that i didnt like anything but i personally found the bed quite uncomfortable. It had a memory foam topper that felt very indented so i couldnt get comfy, my husband on the other slept like a baby

Review 63:The hotel is fantastic, the room we had was one of the cheapest but felt it was very nice and very ,much worth the money. The owner was fantastic we arrived very late, 11:30pm he waited up to help us park and get settled showed to us to our room. There were emails from him with regard to our stay and to see if we would need anything couldnt of been more helpful. The breakfast was lovely as well. In general one of thebest hotels we have the pleasure to stay in and will be returning.

Review 64:Behind a large wooden door lies a hidden gem and one of the best boutique hotels we have had the pleasure of staying in in Europe. An ultra stylish hotel with an exceptional host. Review 68:Everything...The spacious and bright room, the great housekeeping, the delicious breakfast, the modern style, the nespresso in the room and of course the friendly host...

Review 69:I arrived quite late at night and the owner/host was so helpful in helping me park my car, checking me in and getting me to my lovely room. I needed a floral arrangement for a memorial service the next so had emailed him to see if he could do it for me. He also made a hair appointment for me. Breakfast was lovely, and the setting was just fabulous. While there is not a restaurants or bar, this hotel has the feel of a boutique hotel.
