Reviews for Le Relais de Moustiers

Review 1:1. WE ARRIVED LATE TO THE HOTEL BECOUSE OF THE WETHER . IT WAS HAVY RAIN SO WE DRIVE SLOWLY AND ARRIVED AT 22:00/ THE GUY IN THE DESK WAS VERY NICE. BUT WE WERE VERY HUNGRY , EVEN PEOPLE WERE ETING IN THE HOTEL RESTERONT THEY SAID THAT THE KICHEN IS CLOSED. AND SAND US 2 CHILDRENS +4 ADULTS TO EAT HOT DOG FAR FROM THE HOTEL/ NOT NICE HOSPSILITY!!!!

Review 2:1/ VERY NICE HOTEL IN A VERY SPCIEAL ARE. 2/ BEST PLACE TO SATY WHEN YOU WANT TO DO VERDON KNYON. 3/ BE SHURE YOU DONT ARRIVE LATE IF YOU WANT TO EAT.

Review 3:Beautiful hotel! Our room had an amazing view of the valley with sounds of the waterfall in the background. Staff was extremely friendly, connected to a nice cafe. We have such great memories of our stay and look forward to returning.

Review 4:Conveniently located but right next to the bell clock tower that rang every hour (so bring earplugs!). You just have to find street parking anywhere in town - hard to find a spot close to the hotel during the day.

Review 5:Right in the middle of town and next to the Tourism Office. Our room was more like a suite and we had 2 bathrooms. We also had a nice private balcony! Clean hotel with simple decor.

Review 6:Our only compliant would be that there was no air conditioning.

Review 7:Charming village, charming room, great location and view, nice staff, good food. Overall enjoyable!

Review 8:perfectly situated in the village centre with wonderful views and on the edge of the gorge. lovely French character. traditional feel but modern facilities.

Review 9:Unfortunately the service did not live up to all the other highs. At dinner it was 40 minutes before we could even order a drink

Review 10:It was almost perfect. The setting was stunning, the room excellent, the food was great.

Review 11:Nothing bad to say.

Review 12:This is a great hotel in the most fabulous position right on the bridge by the waterfall in Moustiers. The staff were very friendly and helpful and everyone we came into contact with served us with a smile. The rooms have obviously been refurbished recently with excellent modern bathrooms. The breakfast buffet was superb with one of the best selections we have had at any hotel in France. The Wi-Fi also worked well. Would definitely recommend this hotel as a great place to stay in the Gorge du Verdon area.

Review 13:Wifi was slow and slightly unstable, so not much to complain about!

Review 14:The location is absolutely gorgeous. We had a beatiful room overlooking the bridge, and a small balcony. The hotel had 2 fabolous Czech girls as help and they spoke well english as well as french. Dinner was good and the cleanliness of the room was great.

Review 15:Smart use of space and room to put things when you unpack with plugs at desk height for computers, night lights so you can read etc Lots of thoughtfulness. Good welcome and enjoyable landlord and wife.

Review 16:Great location - in the middle of the moast beautiful village, 6 km from the lake and French canyon; beautiful room; super nice and helpful staff; excellent food and service at restaurant; godd value hotel. Definitely I would stay again and would give it 4 stars.

Review 17:Family room had magificient view to old church and Mountains from the balcony. However, church-bells kept half of Family awake most of night and room did not have aircon, so what to choose: Sound of church-bells and open doors to balcony for some fresh air, or closed doors, and very hot room. Maybe ask for room not in front of church Tower.

Review 18:Beautiful location. Very nice breakfast, though you had to pay EUR12. Very big room for Family.

Review 19:It would be good if they could arrange with council for some reserved parking for guests. We had to park about a k away in a public car park on a block of vacant land. We took a risk and left our bike and suitcases in the car because of the distance and took only backpacks which we fortunately had with us. To return to the car meant an uphill walk in very hot conditions.

Review 20:Convenient location and staff very helpful and apologetic because lift not working. We were on the third floor. The room wasn't big but comfortable and clean.

Review 21:Parking is hard but then it's a small Europe town. Well worth the stay.

Review 22:Loved the location and the town. We had a family room with balcony and view of the church. Really enjoyed our stay there.

Review 23:No Air con! Our room was lovely next to the waterfall which was very noisy, we couldn't close the window at night because the room was so hot. An Air con unit would have made this hotel perfect. ( It was 38 degrees during our stay)

Review 24:Good location in the centre of the village. Restaurant and bar were lovely, and the staff helpfull. Nice room with everything supplied.

Review 27:No air conditioning. The bed was not very comfortable. Wifi does not work at all in room.

Review 28:Very good location. The hostess speaks english and was very helpful.

Review 29:Stylish, cozy hotel in a heart of de Moustiers. Perfect location, amazing views, good restaurant – highly recommended. Parking is free in all the village. Supermarket located in a few steps.

Review 30:nothing was all perfect

Review 31:Everything was marvelous the village, the area of the hotel and especially the lady who served us was very smiling and willing to serve us You will definitely be first chose this hotel

Review 32:Horrid bed, very old curtains, bedroom looked out on back yard of a local restaurant, when chefs finished at night they sat and ate and drank outside until 2am......no sleep.....not happy

Review 33:Good breakfast

Review 34:None

Review 35:Good location in the central of the town, walk distance to everywhere, nice view outside your room,a water fall out your room, but you could not hear a thing at night,we had very nice and quite night sleep, would recommended.

Review 36:Moustiers appears to exist only as a tourist town. The hotel had more of a motel feel, and had a musty smell that could've been easily freshened up with some lavender and fresh air. The shower looked quite dirty with weird red marks on the tiles (blood?) so we chose not to use the shower. Overall we were glad we only stayed one night as Moustiers was a bit if a tourist trap and whilst Le Relais was a good option, it fit into the same description.

Review 37:The location was brilliant, as far as Moustiers goes. The hotel was good value in terms of the town, but there are better places to go in France.

Review 38:Flies! Everywhere eating drinking etc took fly spray too clear them in room!

Review 39:Location superb, waterfal by side giving the illusion of freshness and tranquility

Review 40:The fact that we are so close to the church means some of us were occasionally woken up by the bell but I managed to sleep through the whole night :)

Review 41:Our loft room has view of the church and the hanging star from the balcony/terrace, we thought that was brilliant! Room is clean and comfortable with all the amenities we need. Would recommend travellers to give this hotel a go!

Review 42:The rain showers that prevented us eating on the terrace overlooking the cascade. Approaching the hotel by car is not easy as it is at the centre of this tourist hot spot - it gets much easier with the street map from reception and after the day trippers have gone home!

Review 43:Location at the very heart of this picturesque village. Friendly helpful staff. Excellent breakfast. Clean comfortable modernised room.

Review 44:Only that we had to park two blocks away and walk - but that's not the hotel's fault and it can't be helped when the town is built into a cliff as it is. It shouldn't even be a downside - just important to note.

Review 45:Beautiful location, view out the window simply outstanding. Nice modern clean bathrooms, friendly staff. Restaurant beautiful, and though we didn't take the breakfast option, we saw the buffet, and it looked great. Although perhaps overpriced. The bakery next door served our needs perfectly.

Review 46:I paid for a triple room for 2 people in order to have 2 beds. That room had only a king bed. I got a different room with 2 beds, and had to pay the same price though it was not the one I booked. Also, not as nice size or location, but was not given any adjustment in price. Also, bed was uncomfortable and the room was freezing cold.

Review 47:The location

Review 48:The beds are a little hard, but I think they are gradually replacing the mattresses. The walls are quite thin and you can hear your neighbours quite clearly, but it's an old building.

Review 49:The location is perfect, the staff are very friendly and helpful. The sound of the river/waterfall is soothing and the town of Moustiers is splendid. We enjoyed our stay and would stay again.

Review 50:The authentic way this hotel is run we booked a superior room and it was light airy and very roomy- loved the shower - great bed - breakfast was great.

Review 51:The silly 'modern' bathroom, with louvred door, open overhead shower, and shallow basin, all of which are totally impracticable.

Review 52:The location in mid-village beside the river, and the friendly and helpful staff, especially Sandro. We've stayed here twice before, and will no doubt make a 4th visit some day.

Review 53:The hotel was above our expectations. It is a classy hotel. The owners are very hositable. The room was very cosy and comfortable. The facilities are good. The location was superb. We would be happy to come back to that unique place and stay at Le Relais hotel.

Review 54:Typical family run french hotel, with great atmosphere, very friendly and helpful staff, great breakfast, really nice bathrooms that looked like they had been recently refurbished. The location in Moustiers, right by the waterfall, with sensational views could not have been better

Review 55:Rooms right by a noisy waterfall you can hear all night; but for the beautiful location it's worth it. Staff speak limited English.

Review 56:Beautiful location

Review 57:Fantastic location just by the waterfall central in the idyllic village. Perfect with restaurant in the hotel when travelling with small children. Recommended!

Review 58:even though the shower looks nice and works well, water spills out all over the floor when you shower. no other complaints.

Review 59:view out the window, comfortable bed, ease of getting from hotel to other places in town

Review 60:Would stay here again for sure. Had a room with an incredible view of the church, mountains and star. We had a comfortanle room with a large balcony. Nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable.

Review 61:They were tetchy about supplying codes for the WiFi. We travel with two iPhones and one iPad so wanted three logins. We got them for the first night under protest but they would only issue two on the second night. We are not heavy users, just need to use different devices for different purposes. While only a minor inconvenience this issue should not have arisen.

Review 62:Very modern room in an old building in the middle of the village. Wonderful. The bathroom was very large and well built.

Review 63:Although it states that the wifi is free but we have to request it from the reception. They will have to issue you a user name and password for the wifi. But its so horrible to get a wifi access in this hotel and they don't really speak English when we request it from an old man at the reception. There are 5 of us but they are so greedy in giving us the access.

Review 64:The location is just perfect. Its really in the middle of the lovely town and easy to find. Its easy to unload our bags just in front of the entrance and then we park our car at the nearby free parking which is a few minutes walk from the hotel. The check-in is great. The breakfast is good. We have two rooms for 5 person. The one for 3 person is facing the Church Tower which have a very amazing view to the mountain and the church on top. The other double room is facing the waterfall on the side which is so calm and quiet to sleep. The sound of the waterfall is so relaxing and peaceful. The rooms are exactly like in the pictures. The double room we had is the newly renovated room. Very nice colour and theme of the room and very modern design of the bathroom with great shower. The newly renovated rooms have really a good taste of design.

Review 65:Everything was fine for the one night we stayed.

Review 66:Beautiful views from the hotel. Comfortable room with modern bathroom. Good restaurant. We were lucky to get free parking opposite hotel. Good value.

Review 67:I took my mother and sister to Moistiere as I had fallen in love with it last year. Our accommodation could not have been better and I would HIGHLY recommend this hotel.

Review 68:As it was very hot and no air conditioning or fans, I had to open the windows and the noise of the mountain stream kept me awake. Staff were unfriendly and impersonal

Review 69:Very convenient position, good wifi

Review 70:Well, you may say that there is no air conditioning... Honestly, open the window. That should work just fine.

Review 71:Staff.... They helped us all the time. Couldn't ask for more. Location is the best in moustieur. Breakfast is spectacular. If you ever go there, take this hotel.

Review 72:The stuff is not very friendly and welcoming... you can hear everything in the room next door but it was quiet most of the time.

Review 73:Location is amazing. In the center of the village and above the waterfalls. We were in the second floor with an amazing view and very .nice room

Review 74:The wifi was sometimes available in the room but mostly not.

Review 75:Hotel is in the middle of the beautiful town of Moustiers Ste Marie. The room had a terrace overlooking part of the centre of the town.

Review 76:Poor value breakfast at 12 euro The 'small room' is a bit too intimate with only a louvre door separating the bathroom and toilet from the bed.

Review 77:Stunning village location Great central location

Review 78:The staff were amazing and the food was excellent. We were on our honeymoon and they couldn't have been nicer - even made us a special dessert for dinner. Thank you!

Review 79:The only b-moll: On wednesday nights, there is an open air disco next to the hotel. The music resounds from the rocks - impossible to sleep. So go there - just skip wednesday.

Review 80:Wonderful village, very picturesque, nice hotel right at the entrance of the old town, perfect rooms (for the price), friendly staff, good food. All in all: welcoming!

Review 81:That we stayed only for one night

Review 82:Hotel room and its dinning place, the historic town with its amazing architecture, waterfall that we could see and hear from our room, the view of the valley, the restaurants, atmosphere, culture, stary sky and night, personel of the hotel

Review 83:Noisy in the early morning due to delivery trucks but closed windows & shutters blocked the noise. We couldn't get WiFi (a problem for us in the mountains in France but not on the coast).

Review 84:Excellent location; friendly, efficient staff. Balcony room(!!) was well-furnished, spotless, great for people watching. Madame was gracious, charming & so very French! Breakfast (12 euros)was the best we had in Southern France. We enjoyed a great dinner at the hotel as well.

Review 85:Location was Superb however the room we had were nothing like the online photos. There was Mold in the ceiling of one of the showers and the beds were terribly low and uncomfortable The blankets on them looked as if they were 25 years old at least. I failed to take photos. I should have

Review 86:Only thing was that our room was in the back and the bell tower was about 50 feet away and rang every half hour.

Review 87:Charming place; loved the bar, the restaurant, the location, the town!

Review 88:Good location in Moustiers - convenient to drop off luggage and with nearby parking. The staff was very helpful.

Review 89:breakfast not included and pricy

Review 96:no free parking nearby

Review 97:great location, very central, owner/staff very helpful ( we could lock our bikes in a seperate room)
