Reviews for Les Sables Blancs

Review 1:We arrived in late afternoon to find sheets and towels in the corridors. Our room was not fit for purpose -too small and you would need to be a contortionist to get into the shower. They could not confirm whether we could have a dinner that night as the restaurant was fully booked. When we asked for a different room they said they could not assist. We cancelled but they could not refund us as the money had already been lodged to booking.com. They were snobbish and unhelpful . Do not book a bargain break here as you will end up embarrassed and annoyed. We are still awaiting the investigation and our money back . They probably gross 3 million Euros a year and couldn't even use their discretion. We went on to Pont Aven and stayed in the Mimosa --much much better

Review 2:It was terrible and one of the worst hotel experiences of our lives. They are more interested in their restaurant than their so called bargain breaks. Avoid them at your peril

Review 3:Beautiful location, very good restaurant. Large terrasse / sundeck to enjoy the unspoilt seaview. Beach in front perfect for water activities and leisure.

Review 4:As there was no mini bar or tea & coffee facility available in the room the hotel policy of charging 30 Euros per person for any food or drink not purchased via room service made sitting on our balcony and enjoying the sunset much less pleasurable. Our dinner in the bar area was OK but the service was poor.

Review 5:The location was great to enjoy the beach and the spectacular sunsets, although it was a long walk into town. Our room was a good size and quite modern.

Review 6:Nice hotel. For this price should be newly equipped soon. Staff is friendly(Just the one in the restaurant - they are indiscussable unfriendly). Quality of the diner, however, was excellent.

Review 7:The balconies were only separated by a meagre plant so no privacy at all! The standard room is too small; bed as well! could not budge!

Review 8:Location directly on the beach and great view; quiet at night. Restaurant served good food.

Review 9:The minibar fridge in our room was not working and the hotel were unable to fix it. We had requested an upper floor Double Superior but got a ground floor Family Room - had this not been the end room other guests would have passed by our 'balcony'. The walk in to Concarneau (while very picturesque) was over 30 minutes, not a short walk.

Review 10:Location - stunning views, perfect for al fresco dining The restaurant was excellent - food was outstanding Most staff were excellent

Review 11:No parking.

Review 12:The view. You feel like on a cruise ship. You sleep and wake up with the waves. The food is excellent. Fresh fish and the best oysters, they are flat. Called Belon. I shall be back.

Review 13:Standard room which we booked too small for 2 people including a tiny bed. However,a larger was provided when a complaint was lodged. Breakfast is somewhat overpriced by Irish standards.

Review 14:Staff extremely friendly and courteous. Particular mention of Romy-- a very compotent receptionist.

Review 15:Decoration of suites getting 'tired'. No full height wardrobe hanging rail very annoying for dresses and trousers.

Review 16:Location, restaurant and staff.

Review 17:Good product, but very poor service. Stayed their two weekends in a row and can only urge everyone to avoid the terrace service except if you like watching angry guests walking inside to claim for menue, return wrongly delivered orders or complain because you wait more then 30min to get recognised...as compensation you can then watch at breakfast how staff helps themselves at the breakfast buffet for their personal breakfast in front of guests while ignoring the mess on the buffet and on the tables...great location, good product but unfortunately very purely managed!..which unfortunately completely ruins the stay and it wasn't even yet high season

Review 18:We were disappointed with the restaurant as it proved to be very expensive, as regards food and wine, also the meal took 2 and and half hours as service was very slow.

Review 19:We were upgraded to a suite, which was fantastic, and the room was ready for us to enjoy earlier than expected.

Review 20:The restaurant is very well regarded locally, however, we found the cuisine a little over complicated; a bit too much emphasis on artful presentation and not quite enough on simple fabulous ingredients.

Review 21:This hotel is in a wonderful location set on a white sand beach. We went in the middle of winter but nevertheless being right on the beach made it feel like a holiday!

Review 22:WiFi access was patchy and slow. There seemed too few staff on occasion, for example to serve drinks at the bar before the meal. The room did tend to get too hot at night and the AC did not work. (The waves were quite loud when we tried to open the windows). Nor did the hairdryer (although it was promptly replaced).

Review 23:Outstanding restaurant and spacious outdoor area (a little cold and dark at this time of year to take full advantage) Perfectly placed effectively right on the sea. Friendly and highly attentive staff, who could not have been more helpful. Clean, spacious, good parking and delightful local walks. Close to Concarneau but also separate

Review 24:Parking in high season would be very difficult. Although the restaurant and bar are very nice, other common areas of the hotel & the bedroom were rather shabby with some state of repair issues. The wardrobe door was hanging off, paint was peeling badly in the bathroom, umbrella on balcony was broken, loungers were ripped and the awning was full of mildew. Corridor carpets were stained and walls were marked. I would describe the hotel room furniture as very basic rather than contemporary.

Review 25:The location on the beach is superb. The superior room balcony we had was the size of a ships deck and absolutely marvellous. The restaurant and bar is excellent - make sure you make a reservation for the restaurant in advance as it is very popular. iPod in room is nice bonus. Lovely walk along the seawall into Concarneau (approx 2km.) Hotel is also ideally situated on a jogging/coastal path.

Review 26:It is a good 3 Star hotel; does not have all facilities that 4 Star hotels usually have (like swimmingpool, spa, or gym).

Review 27:Great sea view from the bed and from the bathroom, contemporary interior design, balcony to enjoy sunset. Very welcoming staff and manager at reception. Nice breakfast.

Review 28:Rooms a little small, parking is on the street outside and a bit pot-luck. Compromises we found well worthwhile for one night but could be more of a negative if staying longer.

Review 29:Superb sea view, excellent sandy beach at your feet, nice coastal walks, very friendly and helpful staff, great food, coffee at breakfast, breakfast, dinner. As you can tell, we enjoyed it and would return in a shot.

Review 30:beach is pretty crowded during the day walking in to the center takes 25 minutes, can be tiring when you do it several times per day

Review 31:Rooms with nice ocean view Friendly Staff Wonderfull terrace Nice restaurant

Review 32:Sole complaint: towels were not always renewed, cleaning levels varied.

Review 33:Excellent location, friendly staff - perfect to relax and get to know the Bretagne. Lovely view, great restaurant and bar , the beach location and jogging path add to an all over nice travel experience !

Review 34:Absence garage et piscine

Review 35:Professionnalisme Directrice, vue exceptionnelle, excellent confort Terrasse extra Excellente table

Review 36:Nothing

Review 37:Very relaxing, and staff superb

Review 38:No.

Review 39:Staff at the reception is very nice !

Review 40:Staff could not have been more friendly and accomodating. Brilliant location to Watch the sunset

Review 41:The location by the sea. Just a little stair and you're on the beach.

Review 42:Service personel not very charming

Review 43:Very nice place by the sea, beautiful room, quiet, except for the seaguls

Review 44:Good restaurant and superb sea views

Review 45:The location directly on the beach is the best thing about this hotel.

Review 46:Position !

Review 47:Friendly staff

Review 48:Wifi was difficult to connect to

Review 49:Loved the sea view from our room and hotel being situated right on the beach

Review 50:Now and again you stumbled across something special. Les Sables Blanches is just that.

Review 51:Excellent location on the beach

Review 52:THE DOORS OPENING INTO THE ROOM MAKING IT IMPOSSIBLE TO WALK AROUND THE BED

Review 53:BEING SO CLOSE TO THE BET

Review 54:I have no criticism

Review 55:Excellent beach view, just outside our bedroom window, with balcony.superb dinner. Extremely helpful staff with car parking

Review 56:No one mentioned the restaurant and bar was booked out (150 guests) for a private function.

Review 57:Location was superb

Review 58:small standard rooms

Review 59:nice personnel excellent restaurant super view

Review 60:Expensive considering size of room. However you pay for the location. Restaurant expensive and poor choice. Told that it was 30 min walk into town. More like twice as long. Street parking taken up by people on beach. Hotel car park 10 minutes away down a very steep ramp. Would be a nightmare for anyone with mobility problems.

Review 61:Location is fantastic. Room with balcony overlooking beach. Steps down to beach. Fabulous weather compensated for negative points. Gorgeous location for touring.

Review 62:Wish we had booked to stay longer!

Review 63:Beautiful room with private patio overlooking the sea. Outstanding. Fabulous bar and decking area to chill out as the sun set. All the rooms faced the sea and the sunset.

Review 64:Coolness of some members of staff superior room had leaking sliding doors with towels strategically placed to soak up water were not replaced during our stay food good but very expensive

Review 65:Location sea views

Review 66:we were in room 1 which had a decking area which should have been private but ajoined a public sitting area and people could look into the room and some were smoking next to our sitting area. The fridge did not work and we asked for it to be unplugged as it was dangerously hot on top. There was no mini bar. A room on the first or second floor would be better

Review 67:the position is fantastic. Buffet breakfast was good. The wine was expensive.

Review 68:The first evening we had dinner on the terrace at the Nautilus the hotel's restaurant, a bit of a disappointment, the food was well prepared, but nothing to write home about.

Review 69:We liked the hotel directly situated on the White Sands of Brittany, bit outside the center of Concarneau, easy 20 minute walk to "downtown", we also took the little train for transportation. The hotel is modern (may be a bit sterile?) and well kept, our room had a huge window front and balcony towards the sea and beach. We had the breakfast with everything in the room, that was lovely. Friendly service personnel bringing the breakfast on a trolley.

Review 70:The food was the best, greatly enjoyed our dinner: setting, service and food all outstanding. The hotel is very well appointed and a real delight to stay in.

Review 71:The WiFi in the room was not working properly.

Review 72:The hotel and the room is very nice, with a fantastic view to the ocean. The restaurant is great, perfect for an elegant, gourmet dinner. The meals are very nice and delicious. But the prices are quite high.

Review 73:Lovely hotel on the waterfront. Courteous, helpful staff. Great view of the beach, easy access. Good restaurant attached for dinner. Well worth stopping - only had 1 night there - would have liked at least one more.

Review 74:My husband took a dislike to the wash-basin (shallow with no overflow so a deliberately leaky plug).

Review 75:Quite small and right on the beach with comfortable rooms, a lovely balcony, and an excellent menu

Review 76:There is no proper information about room sizes and photos were mixed up on the booking.com, so there was a disappointing mistake. We ordered Junior Suit, but we got Family room(it was written on the room's door). We talked to the staff and a lady decided not to charge € 50 per day for the extra bed. So, the room was extremely narrow and it was the worst accommodation in our trip through Normandie and Bretagne (there were 7 hotels).

Review 77:The hotel is situated just on the ocean's coast, but it's far from Concarneau centre, without car it would take a long time to get there. There are no problems with parking. The staff is really friendly.

Review 78:Air conditioning didn't work The book said there was a mini bar andthere was no mini bar Room was super small even by european standards

Review 79:Right on the beach with a great restaurant.

Review 80:The breakfast was very pricey and with not much choice. One could haveexpected more for 14€50 than a simple continental breakfast. Thestandard room was very small, it could be a bit tight if staying formore than a few days

Review 81:The hotel is quite new and well furnished with an exceptional view overthe sea on the Sables Blancs beach.

Review 82:Parking by the hotel is difficult. They do have a car park but this was 300m from the hotel so moving cases is difficult but the view makes up for this.

Review 83:Ideally located on the beach front. Good selection of food and wine (although not out of restaurant times). Staff very efficient and helpful.

Review 84:Lack of information on room facilties such as TV and radio and about the hotel in general eg breakfast times. Lack of storage- not one single drawer in the room, no proper bedside tables, separate toilet but no handwashing facilty within it. Breakfast not good value, the same breakfast was 8 Euros less in other hotels we stayed in.

Review 85:a fantastic location with panoramic views through the patio window which opened onto our balcony. Walk out of the hotel onto the beach.

Review 86:Very beautiful view to the Sea. Wie very much enjoied the style of theHotel, Design of the room!! The staff was very friendly and theatmosphere in the Hotel is a Perfect mixture of relaxing and stylisch.

Review 87:The small, cramped room with barely enough space to move, once twopeople and their suitcases were in the room; the lack of information inthe room about the hotel's facilities; the lack of tea/coffee-makingfacilities and other nice touches in the room; the over-priced room, breakfast and restaurant meals.

Review 88:The beachfront location; the friendly and helpful reception staff; thefree public parking in the street outside.

Review 89:Breakfast could be better

Review 90:Sea Views Food Nice Bar

Review 91:Poor breakfast. Some lights not working in the restaurant.

Review 92:Impressive view. Room design. Staff very nice and effective.

Review 93:Location on beachfront, ambience, food.

Review 94:Rooms are a little on the small side. Restaurant is good but overpriced.

Review 95:Great location on the beach. Parking was easy. Staff were excellent.

Review 96:The location with room balconies over looking the beach was fantastic.

Review 97:The unpersonal touch of the staff.

Review 98:The gorgeous view on the ocean directly from the bed.

Review 99:no real english tea

Review 100:nearly everything

Review 101:Friendly and helpful, marvellous position right on the beach.

Review 102:The breakfast was expensive for what it was

Review 103:An excellent hotel. We stayed in a 'junior suite' which had a balconies overlooking the ocean.

Review 104:Nothing to not like about it!

Review 105:Beautiful decor, wonderful location, very friendly & helpful staff. Fabulous gourmet food.

Review 106:small bed - petit lit - kleines Bett

Review 107:Dreamlike location, gorgeous cuisine. - Situation de rêve, cuisine fantastique. - Traumlage, fantastische Küche.

Review 108:Its location both on the beach and in easy walking distance of the centre

Review 109:The staff was friendly and very helpful to us. We hope to return for another visit.
