Reviews for Hotel Du Port

Review 1:I think you have to realize what you're getting--an old hotel with smallish rooms and doors through which you can hear more than you might want. I'd say a stay here is dependent upon the kindness and consideration accorded you by the people in the neighboring rooms, and whether they stay up late, gab in the hall, and clack doors late at night or early in the morning.

Review 2:Owner, window view, value for money. I slept great! (And cute dog)

Review 3:Very clean fantastic location, don't go on the festival weekend in August unless you don't plan sleeping though. Really friendly helpful owner who made us feel very welcome

Review 4:Very central and good value with modern decor in the rooms. It is in a busy part of town but still quiet enough on our two nights You can walk to the Ville Close and the Tourist Office is directly opposite. We parked our motorbike on the pavement across the street no problem.

Review 5:Stairs are the only negative and they are not that bad

Review 6:The manager was wonderful. We left phone chargers behind and she arranged to send them on to Ireland for us. She couldn't have been more helpful

Review 7:We really liked the owner and the location. The closed city was nearby along with many businesses and restaurants. The tourist bureau and bus stop were right across the street from the hotel.

Review 8:Lots of stairs to climb might not suit everybody, but it was good exercise and no real problem.

Review 9:Very central location and a huge car park just across the road.Easy to get to the historic part of town.Helpful staff and a good room.Beautiful stairs in the building too.Would happily return.

Review 10:We were very happy with the friendly atmosphere and received all help and support we needed. Excellent location to discover the ville close (very near!). the road under the window can be loud (its directly at the port.), but the windows close properly! If you need a babybed please ask!

Review 11:our room was at the front of the hotel - which apparently is more expensive because of the view, but in fact the view is largely obscured by trees/ street lights etc.; it is also (unsurprisingly) very noisy - if I had known I would have requested a room at the back!

Review 12:the hotel is within easy walking distance of the walled town and the quay; the room, although small was clean and comfortable and the staff were friendly and helpful

Review 13:We liked the général ambience. Seems like the whole place was newly painted. The shower like new too. Nice view of boats from room..staff most pleasant and helpful.

Review 14:There was nothing not to like, it is what it is.

Review 32:Room was small

Review 33:Friendly helpful staff, modern clean rooms overlooking the harbour. Excellent position

Review 34:Lots of stairs to get to the rooms.

Review 35:Perfect location for visiting the old town. Quiet and fairly wellappointed.

Review 36:VERY basic - no wardrobe or shelf-space; No tea/coffee in the room. On main road by the port so constant noise, from people outside until early hours, then the bin lorries, deliver lorries , buses etc etc, No air con so impossible to shut windows.

Review 37:spotlessly clean. Very central with on-street parking outside and low-cost car-park across the road.

Review 38:No lift as reception was on the first floor and bedrooms were above, but this wasn't a major problem for us. Also no immediate parking, but a free car park within 500 metres (and a paid car park opposite), although daytime metered parking outside the hotel front door.

Review 39:Lovely friendly staff (spoke good English), excellent location for Ville Clos (Old Town on the Island). Basic, but very clean and all that you needed. Breakfast was typically French and ample.

Review 40:Late & loud birthday party in one of the houses next door - that's the downside of being in the city centre ... but I slept well anyway!

Review 41:Room small (no cupboard) but sufficiently equipped, beautiful paintings in rooms & staircase Very friendly receptionist, perfect service Very convenient location for those travelling on foot ... and if you leave your window open, you wake up to the small of fresh croissants from the nearby bakery!

Review 42:Although there are no car parking facilities there is a car park opposite the entrance , there did not appear to be any charge for overnight parking.

Review 43:Friendly and helpful staff, ideal central location. Fine selection of resteraunts, bars and shops within easy walking distance, as are several local attractions and places of interest. Stayed at the same hotel five years ago there has obviously been a lot of renovation and redecoration since my last stay.

Review 44:Noise from street was audible with window open; breakfasts are limited but optional and plenty choice within town for alternatives.

Review 45:Central location for access to city of Concarneau; friendly and helpful staff; small hotel. Great base location for exploring area. Free parking available within easy walking distance.

Review 46:There is no elevator.

Review 47:The hotel is located just outside of the old city and is very easy to find when one drives into Concarneau. There is parking in the street just in front of the hotel and if one does not arrive too early, it is easy to find a place to park.

Review 48:Staff very helpfull and it was very nice to be meet with a cheerfull smile. Very nice room with flowers on the windowsill. I would definitly recommend this hotel.

Review 49:The tv does not have an English channel.

Review 50:This was our 2nd stay here and we were happy to return. The owner, Muriel is extremely welcoming and friendly, nothing is too much trouble. The hotel is ideally located right opposite the Port and old city. There are plenty of bars and restuarants with a few minutes walk. Car parking (pay in summer)) is directly in front of the hotel, as is the Tourist Office. A really good place to stay at a reasonable price.

Review 51:The hotel is situated near the harbour and the old city center. Overnight there is free parking in front of the hotel, and during the daytime free parking is possible within walking distance.

Review 52:Perhaps a little more basic than first expected but very clean andsimply furnished with pleasant staff.

Review 53:Fantastic location on the harbour close to bars and restaurants. Wellpriced. And lovely morning view

Review 54:Perhaps there could be an english news channel on the TV.

Review 55:The friendliness of the owner and within easy reach on foot of the harbour area and restuarantrs/bars.

Review 56:I accidentally booked a single room for two... The Lady from the hotel realized the error, contacted me and shifty organized another room - although the hotel was complete! Thank you so much!
