Reviews for Maison d'Hôtes à Angouire

Review 1:approach drive is very rough. breakfast basic.

Review 2:wonderful, quiet, beautiful location yet near the lake and Moustieres and the Gorge du Verdon. Fantastic room.

Review 3:fantastic location really away from all other distractions. there really is a stream running through their property although there is a fair walk to the places where you can bathe in refreshing mountain water. thanks for the directions on the booking confirmation

Review 4:Nobody there. Not expected even with reservations. Looks like backwoods shack. Kitchen u amenable for breakfast. Picture is of back of property: front is awful. Backwoods isolated.

Review 5:The owner, John Baptiste, was so helpful. He organised a picnic lunch for us to take on our day trip into the Canyon, and also drove ahead of us to show is where to park for our day trip into the canyon for the best place for fly fishing. Dinner was superb, and the apricot tart dessert was the best I've ever had. It was a relaxed atmosphere, and we were reluctant to leave. I felt privileged to have experienced an 18th century farmhouse stay.I would recommend this B&B to my friends.

Review 6:The property was a little hard to find in the evening but the owner John-Baptiste drove into the town centre to rescue us.The property is charming and the welcoming warm.Even at short notice the cook , Bernard, put together a scrumptious meal on the very country stove. Our room was basic but comfortable and the ultra-modern enclosed shower ( with FM radio, multiple jets and disco lighting ) was a treat. Thank you J-B.

Review 7:It is out of the town if that bothers you. If you want a Holiday Inn don't go here if you want a comfortable, cosy, traditional experience with good food this is the place to experience Provençal hospitality.

Review 8:If you want an authentic French country experience this is it. Although the bedding and bathroom are 5 star quality! We had dinner in the house and it was the best food we have had in France, traditional, home cooked, very reasonable, including wine. Delicious. Fabulous experience.

Review 9:This place is so tucked away that you would never find it accidentally! It is hidden away in the forest, but has lovely views of the hills around. Close enough to Moustieres to be able to drive up in two minutes for dinner, but so far away from what bustle there is that you feel a million miles from everything! The room was absolutely beautiful, and the bathroom was superb. We ate dinner there one night - course after course of delicious home-cooked food, in our own private dining room! How could anything be better? The entire experience was absolutely wonderful - one of the best B&Bs in our entire 3 week stay in France.

Review 10:Nothing - everything was perfect!

Review 11:The beautiful quite location which is still close to a beautiful village, the lake St Croix and the Verdon canyon The wonderful comfortable decoration of the room, house and garden The excellent breakfast (and once even dinner) that was prepared for us The nice hosts

Review 12:1/ Room furniture. The room had peculiar furniture, several cabinets made of mirrors - it looked creepy and the glass was broken in many parts, we were afraid to touch it so that it does not come apart 2/ smell of room: excessive lavander smell we could not take out 3/ the bathroon was nicely furbished and modern, but the door would not close (we asked for another room and it dis not even have a door to the bathroom) and under the wooden flooring you could see the ground outside (which also made it easy for scorpios to enter)

Review 13:Location good, close to Moustiers Saint Marie (2 km). Quite isolated, in the forest. Large premises, clear sky.

Review 14:Nothing, except that we couldn't find the b&b because the address is not mentioned. But it was no problem, because friendly local police excorted us there.

Review 15:Hospitality: we felt at home from the second we arrived, location, beautiful surroundings, spacious room. We will visit again!

Review 16:Distance from Moustiers. therefore had to use the car. track to the B&B. we have a low car and we were a bit worried about hitting the exhaust. But it was worth it for the peace and isolation.

Review 17:The fabulous modern and opulent bathroom in the junior suite. The view over rolling countryside.

Review 18:This is exactly what we were looking for - a peaceful, relaxing B&B in the Gorges of Verdon. The owners are very friendly and the property is quite extensive and you can wade and swim in the river. Breakfast is nice and one evening we opted for the meal at the maison. It was splendid- three courses with homemade ingredients and a lovely bottle of wine that we enjoyed together in peace while watching the sun set. A real highlight!

Review 19:Outdoor areas were rather run down. Abandoned jeep and car in the drive Loose horse in the garden that prevented eating outdoors one morning. No indoor relaxing area other than bedroom

Review 20:Room and villa nicely done up inside Friendly owners Quiet location Lovely view over valley

Review 21:Nothing. The lack of wifi was a good thing since this really allowed you to relax and enjoy the environment and beautiful suroundings.

Review 22:The beautiful location, the view from the room, the beautifully decorated bathroom... The secluded location allows you to enjoy the spectacular environment and rural peace, but at the same time you're only 3 km away from Moustier with all it's restaurants, shops and tourist crowds. The couple hosting us was very friendly and made us feel truly welcome. The three course dinner we had one night was the best French dinner we had during our whole stay in Provence. They arranged a tasty packed lunch with home made olive bread for our trip to Gorge du Verdon (which was superb!). For the hike they also arranged our drop off and pick up which was very convenient (and worth every cent not having to hassle with buses and taxis in those rural areas). Remember that this is more of a B&B than a hotel - you are a guest in people's family house, which made it all more personal and a special stay, unlike ordinary hotels.

Review 23:No condition in the room

Review 24:Very special place with long story from 19th centaury, provance room decoration, wonderful wild nature, close to the lakes

Review 25:A bit tricky to find but so worth it, quiet peaceful, comfortable, very welcoming hosts, fabulous breakfast

Review 26:Unique house, friendly hosts, great walking on the property and close by. Mustier Village a must stop for great meals and friendly atmosphere.

Review 27:The ambience, the furniture, the surroundings, the peace, the breakfast, the space.

Review 28:the plumbing

Review 29:the walk up stream

Review 30:No door into the toilet, at breakfast just bread with cheese spread and jam, no proper cheese, ham or eggs.

Review 31:Scenery, owners very friendly

Review 32:Damp in lower part of the building.

Review 33:Lovely location and view to wake up too. Moustiers is possibly cutest village ever!!!

Review 34:Poor and expensive breakfast ( considering it's a country-house)

Review 35:A magnificent location and surroundings a few km away from mouistiersare Marie, that really worths a visit

Review 36:Position ambience character luxury

Review 37:Owner of this small mountain inn, and his teenage children, were most hospitable, going out of their way to make us feel welcome.

Review 38:That we had to leave :)

Review 39:The Location is relaxed and very well situated within the mountains of the Gorges de Verdon
