Reviews for Hotel Altica Sarlat
Review 1:The hotel is situated right at the entrance to the village - hotel personal was extra nice and helpful. The beds were new and good. If you compare the price to what you get it is a real good deal
Review 2:This is a basic hotel with a good quality/price value. Short walk to old town center with sidewalks the whole way. Across the street from a supermarket which is very handy. Room did smell of a not very pleasing air freshener. Thankfully we could open the window to air the room out!
Review 3:This is a typical big box hotel chain room, but smaller than some. No English spoken at the check in desk despite a sign indicating English was spoken.
Review 4:Location, clean.
Review 5:Zero
Review 6:This hotel is close to everything , but old town. That's like 20 minutes to walk. Market, car rental, laundry, gare.. From the gare, turn right downhill to eurocar office, go left two roundabouts . Left side. We stayed here twice in a week. As a base.
Review 7:A little out of town but walking distance and on a main road which was OK for noise. Smallest Shower I have ever seen and I couldn't get in it. I'm not that big. Private parking was just an open car park but I had no issues with my motorcycle. My room was VERY Yellow
Review 8:Friendly staff, Good breakfast.
Review 9:No lift.
Review 10:Nice quiet clean/ super staff. Easy walk to eurocar rental, little farther to self laundry on the other roundabout under the bridge. Still farther to the gare but doable, downhill. At least 15 minutes to old town, pass the square with chains. Super market and petrol across the road. Everything we needed. We stayed here twice while in the area as a base. Great bed, quiet.
Review 11:Little further from town centre than was ideal but it was cheap
Review 12:Good value for money and able to arrive late - excellent that email was sent with pin codes for late arrival
Review 13:- location a bit too far from city centrer if you walk, but fully ok with car (possibility to park for free in the evening in city center) - room a bit small, but the size is still ok.
Review 14:- friendly staff - location close to supermarket - fair price - good breakfast
Review 15:hearing the room upstairs when using toilet or shower, or people coming back to their room on sme floor
Review 16:quiet area easy to access by car; free parking lot; 15mn walk to historic city
Review 17:The room was quite cramped and the fan supplied was only just adequate in the hot weather
Review 18:Value for money and good access by car to the many attractions in and around Sarlat. Free parking was also a feature. The manager and other staff members were very helpful.
Review 19:On the day of departure it was raining and we had to walk to the train station. We did not know that the train was suspended for that day and a bus would take one to Bergerac. The friendly manager took us in his personal vehicle!! Thankyou, he is great!!! We were in time for the bus and had a good journey to Bordeaux.
Review 20:Nothing
Review 21:Staff friendly, helpful and spoke English. Thank you very much! Quiet location within walking distance to town centre and railway station. Clean and comfortable room.
Review 22:Wifi signal was too weak to reach our room. I requested a room change as soon as we discovered it (within minutes of checking in) and was rudely told it was the same in all areas. We had to go to the lobby to check our email. You need a car as the hotel is a good distance from town.
Review 23:clean, comfortable bed.
Review 24:They have taken the motel model to a new stage - you can book at the hotel with a card in a machine and an entry code will be given to the building and room. It's cheaper though to book in advance.
Review 25:No lift in the hotel.
Review 26:Hotel is centrally located. Rooms are basic but clean. Reception staff spoke English which really helped. Wifi worked very well and parking was free.
Review 27:A bit too far to walk into Sarlat. Lack of coffee making facilities in room
Review 28:Comfortable hotel, easy to find, and well placed for touring the surrounding area. Staff were helpful and breakfast was good
Review 29:Would have liked a little more choice for breakfast, eg. perhaps some ham or cheese or an egg otherwise it was OK
Review 30:the location was perfect for our needs. It was easy to reach a wide area without getting snarled up in Sarlat traffic.
Review 31:No complaints nothing to dislike it's high season in one of the most visited regions of France so very well presented and under €50 a night . Good value!
Review 32:Emmanuel was very helpful and professional. Not in the centre of town but most people would have a vehicle good for getting places and day trips. Casino supermarket across the road very handy. Very quiet breakfast available
Review 33:Non existent!
Review 34:Thanks to the amazing staff who welcomed us like friends and answered all of our questions about the region we had the most awesome time in Sarlat and had the most memorable experience of the dordogne region. I recommend this hotel to everyone! Next time I go I will definitely be staying here again. It's not in the medieval city centre but it's accessible by foot and who cares if it's not in the busy loud city centre anyway. There are only great things to say about this place: friendly, modern, clean, spacious, practical supermarket just in front, spacious shower, did I say super friendly??? And adorable manager/gerant. Thank you for making our first dordogne experience so memorable. I will visit again soon!
Review 35:The Manager and staff were very polite and helpful. They went that extra bit to ensure we had a very enjoyable stay. Wi/Fi was free and solid as a rock. Breakfast was excellent. Rooms cleaned every day.
Review 36:SEE THE ABOVE COMMENTS! LIKED THE CLEANINESS & BRESKFAST.
Review 37:Would recommend if you have a car! Not a place to access for buses etc to tourist sights only seems to be 1 taxi and it was heavily booked! Sarlat doesn't cater for tourists sans private transport. They miss the tourist market in this respect! You are confined to the Medieval town, beautiful & worth a visit! The hotel is more of a Backpackers hostel with excellent Wifi, narrow twin share beds, a common dining room, but desperately would benefit with having a common lounge room where you could sit in comfort outside of your very compact room as the dining room was shuttered mid morning! Tissues would be a nice touch as would a hook on back of bathroom door!
Review 38:I'd like to have some tables with chairs outside the hotel, to have breakfast enjoying fresh air or sit with friends in the evening in case we're not in the mood for going out.
Review 39:Hotel has ideal location for exploration of Perigord, close to Sarlat and with all main roads nearby. It offers great value for money. If you know about Ibis Budget (formerly Etap) hotel franchise, this is very similar. If you are not looking for 5 star facilities but rather clean and convenient place, this is good find for you.
Review 40:the room was very small with little space to put clothes etc. The mattress was hard.
Review 41:Proximity to town
Review 42:bthroom could be bigger, only french tv channels

Review 73:Was clean and had free parking
Review 74:Quiet location within walking distance to town centre. Comfortable room.
Review 75:Small room, small beds,Worst pillows ever used. Internet very slow in the evening. Ok to stay for 1 or 2 nights.
Review 76:Clean, and helfull staff
Review 77:Some initial struggle to get WiFi but eventually worked well. Small very basic room.
Review 78:Location quite Central.
Review 79:very nice and very helfull
Review 80:Staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful. Very convenient to train station. Out of the chaos of town center, yet still walking distance.
Review 81:Peace and quiet at night. Value for money. Approx 15-20 mins walk into centre. Staff very good. Similar to a travelodge.
Review 82:Not an ideal location, long walk uphill from train station and about 1k walk to town. No air con room was stuffy. No lift.
Review 83:Close to laundromat.
Review 84:No air conditioning.
Review 85:Comfortable bed with clean white sheets. Ample parking spaces. Helpful receptionist. Excellent wi-fi.
Review 86:Shortage of plug sockets in room
Review 87:Friendly staff
Review 88:I paid for breakfast and whilst I thought it was adequate I am not sure it was worth €5.90 relative to cost of room etc..
Review 89:everything was good from check - in to check out
Review 90:Good value for the money when I was here. WiFi works. Easy to find. Comfortable, clean, inexpensive for Sarlat. They let you park all day so you can hike into town. Make sure to let them know if you are arriving late! Self check-in kiosk with for late arrivals.
Review 91:The man at the check-in desk was extremely polite and friendly. He recommended a place for dinner but not open Tuesdays. It put us in a good location though. Clean and comfy night sleep. Across the road was a supermarket for small needs. Easy access to hotel as on a roundabout. Coffee machine in foyer. Great place for price.
Review 92:Very easy to find and park (having had some difficulty in medieval towns) and still easy to drive to centre of Sarlat. Excellent value for money, for breakfast as well.
Review 93:No tea and coffee making facilities in the bedroom.
Review 94:Very close to Sarlat centre and easy access to roads leading to other areas of interest. Breakfast was good value for money
Review 95:strange DIY hotel for checking in (after 5PM) and self service drinks at breakfast. Obviously very popular as it was full every night. A good walk into town.
Review 96:near station, for the 5 trains a day!!!! also good for touring as the hotel is only yards from roads leading to all points. Good safe parking with CCTV. Sarlat is a super town to stroll through day and night
Review 97:a little further from the centre of Sarlat-la Canada than I had expected for walking in to town
Review 98:Good clean basic accommodation with off street parking,Manager very helpful good value for money. Would happity use again
Review 99:Nothing.
Review 100:Good Location and easy to find.Within 15 mins walk of Sarlat Centre plus the added benefit of Free car parking on site. A nice friendly welcome and a good value Hotel.
Review 101:The space inside the room was a bit tight, but okay for 2 people who pack light. There were two big bath towels but no face towel. I did think there could have been a toilet paper holder instead of setting the paper on the back of the tank like in a gas station.
Review 102:The staff was welcoming and hardworking, the breakfast was good, the cleanliness was excellent, the value for cost was outstanding. The large free parking lot was a big plus.
Review 103:Restricted hours of reception. Were it not for the man at reception, who let us in when we arrived, we would have been waiting outside in the rain with backpacks from 1.30pm until 5pm (after a long train trip and a walk from the train station in the rain) Distance from the centre of the old part of the city.
Review 104:Reasonably close to the train station to walk with backpack. Across the road from a large supermarket. Cycle hire reasonably close; cycle track also nearby. Exceptionally friendly, helpful, English-speaking gentleman at reception.
Review 105:We stayed for one night on our way up through France. Because we arrived at a time when the reception wasn't staffed, I had to ring the hotel for our room number and access code. The manager was extremely friendly and helpful, understood my inadequate French and gave me the codes in English. The hotel is excellent value for money and only a 15 minute walk from Sarlat centre.
Review 106:No criticisms whatsoever
Review 107:Well positions with lots around to do and see. Have stayed there a few times and Emmanuel recognises me and is always friendly. Excellent money for value.
Review 108:The welcome was first class. The accommodation very comfortable. It wasexcellently clean. The hotel is positioned very well for a stay atSarlat and to discover the area.
Review 109:Room hot and stuffy but opening windows made for a very noisy early morning. In fairness there was a fan provided which we did not use.
Review 110:Good parking on site.
Review 111:Very limited on check in time. Their breakfast was only cafe from a machine, croissant, cereal.
Review 112:Location, walking distance (about 15 minutes, no hills, not bad on a nice day, but tons of parking in town). You can open the room window all the way. I know it doesn't sounds like a big deal, but small rooms, you can get a nice breeze going through. The town of Sarlat is amazing. On Saturday & Wednesday is their outdoor market - unbelievable quality for cheese, Foie Gras, walnuts, truffles, breads. So happy. Pick some up, go to the hotel and enjoy. Le Bistrot Sarlat, best dinner, absolutely unbelievable.
Review 113:Had a great stay, added an extra night. No complaints. Thank you.
Review 114:Proper air conditioning would be good, rather than a noisy fan-it was 39C!
Review 115:Easy walk into Sarlat. comfortable room
Review 116:Good value for money, basic
Review 117:5pm check in is a bit late
