Reviews for Hôtel Restaurant La Hoirie

Review 1:Pool was not heated- too cold to swim. The restaurant was overwhelmed with guests so service was painfully slow, and our food given to us was not what we ordered but we were too hungry to complain.

Review 2:Loved the family room for four. Loved the staff members who helped us plan our cave and castle visits. Loved the quiet of the neighborhood. Very good breakfast.

Review 3:No lounge or bar facility inside. Complaint made to management regarding missing property which was poorly resolved.

Review 4:Good location for access to Sarlat. Quiet environment.

Review 5:Not so convenient to walk to other restaurants. Not walking distance to the old town.

Review 6:Very nicely restored old property. Comfortable room. Good wifi. Breakfast was good. Restaurant on site was good for dinner. Convenient parking.

Review 7:There was nothing we didn't like but if there was something which might be improved, it would be the practice as in most hotels we've experienced in France, of having heavy duvets on the beds in relatively warm weather which made us sometimes uncomfortably hot at night.

Review 8:The staff were attentive friendly and obliging and very professional at all times. The setting and surroundings of the hotel were charming and characterful. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay

Review 9:Room small for two persons with 2 luggage. Far from town center. you need a car.

Review 10:good breakfast, comfortable bed. The staff very helpful especially Valery.

Review 11:Difficult to find,

Review 12:Friendly and very helpful reception staff. Very warm welcome. Nice room ,very comfortable and well located for exploring the surrounding areas.

Review 13:It was a beautiful setting with very friendly helpful staff. The food was also very good especially the evening meal. We would certainly stay there again.

Review 14:Had slight problem with toilet system but hotel are aware and dealing with complete system change this winter.

Review 15:Very friendly staff. Our daughter had left her teddies at the hotel. They kindly sent us a message and offered to post onto England. We collected but thought lovely offer. They were also very helpful re. info of things to do in the area. Would recommend and return if in area again.

Review 16:The cost of breakfast was a little high for what we took/got. But this shouldn't detract from a great place

Review 17:Gorgeous property and the rooms were lovely and stylish. The restaurant was fabulous and the food excellent. Staff were all brilliant

Review 18:The staff were so welcoming, helpful & spoke English. The breakfast & dinner at the restaurant were excellent. Our room was clean & well presented. We had wifi in our room but I'm not sure if it's available in all as we were close to the public wifi area. The pool was a welcome after a day sight seeing. I would definately return or recommend to friends.

Review 19:nothing

Review 20:The staff were super friendly. We had a baby with us and the have is a lovely room on the ground floor which made things a lot easier for us. The restaurant was gorgeous- had one of our best meals there all holiday

Review 21:The room we had was near the kitchens so when you opened the window there a strong smell of cooking drifted into the room.

Review 22:The breakfast and the room you had breakfast in were very good.

Review 23:The hotel lacks a bar to enjoy drinks and relax with other guests. Only one chair in bedroom and no tea/coffee making facilities.

Review 24:Lovely hotel and staff. Bed was very comfy and the evening meals were delicious. I would definitely return and recommend to others.

Review 25:WIFI worked OK however not in the room. The main gate is closed during the night so you need to use the back entrance in to the car park (lucky if someone tells you this).

Review 26:Brand new beautiful room. Pool was an added bonus. We paid extra for the breakfast and it was well worth it.

Review 27:An internal door lock in the room broke during our stay but the hotel staff fixed it as soon as they could.

Review 28:Staff very helpful. Ambiance. Lovely breakfast.

Review 29:WIFI should be free but was a bit balky during our stay. They were working on the problem

Review 30:Sarlat de Caneda is lovely but very touristy. We appreciated the pool, quiet courtyard and two very good dinners with excellent wine. Much better than staying within the city walls.

Review 31:The walk from the center of town is a bit of a task on a hot day, particularly when laden with goodies from the fabulous market and a little bit tipsy from one too many drinks at lunch! Not a problem though...a relaxing dip in the pool soon refreshed us.

Review 32:Lovely hotel in a beautiful area of France. The staff were fabulous and went out of their way to ensure we were happy and comfortable during our short stay. To find a near perfect hotel is very rare, this one is a gem. Looking forward to returning sometime soon.

Review 43:Every Thing

Review 44:In a room so big a comfortable chair would be a benefit. Poor location for Sarlat, a very long walk to town

Review 45:Large spacious room

Review 46:Nothing but ask for a room on lower floor if you have a problem with stairs

Review 47:Beautiful property with helpful staff and excellent dinner

Review 48:Very pleasant staff

Review 49:Excellent food. Friendly staff.location

Review 50:Room above made quite a bit of foot noise in room.

Review 52:Getting there. Difficult to find at night.

Review 53:Comfortable newly decorated room

Review 54:The air conditioning in our room did not work. Unfortunately it happened to be in the middle of a heat wave.

Review 55:Food, staff, building were all lovely.

Review 56:Only to make easy to find hotel

Review 57:Excellent

Review 58:Friendly staff, peaceful location just outside of Sarlat. It was a good base for exploring the region. We had dinner there and it was very nice.

Review 59:It was too far to walk into Sarlat which we knew ahead of time but the main problem was finding reasonable parking in Sarlat. Regardless, we would stay here again in the future.

Review 60:The staff were so helpful, especially Alexandra. The accommodation was a lovely old French estate with a beautiful courtyard. The furnishings were French antiques which lended to the atmosphere. The meals were superb and the grounds lovely.

Review 61:The location - no nearby facilities and a 45-minute walk into the old town, partly along a busy road with narrow pavements. The room - bath with only a handheld shower head, just one small armchair and no desk.

Review 62:The welcoming and polite staff. The restaurant.

Review 63:The truly outstanding dinner and lovely restaurant staff made our stay very special.

The Fine Print
