Reviews for Hôtel Des Quatrans
Review 1:that i did not have time to try the breakfast, the smell from the breakfast room was appealling :-)
Review 2:parking in front of the door, awesome internet connection. 24 hr reception, which is becoming an rare thing in France
Review 3:We stay there every time when we are in Caen. The stuff is the best ever. Everything is close to this Hotel. The Chateau, the Abbeys, Rue St. Pierre, Restaurants also.
Review 4:The only negative comment would be that there was not a comfortable common area to be in and the rooms are very small. There is a sitting room on the first floor but that is used as the office so it is not well suited for guests.
Review 5:The owner was very nice and helpful in planning future travels. The rooms ( at least my room ) was very tiny, a bed and small chair and that was it. The breakfast was good as well as the location.
Review 6:Does not include breakfast. Elevator did not stop on floor one, had to walk down a small flight of stairs.
Review 7:Proximity in walking distance to restaurants, shopping, sites of interest. Very friendly staff , good value for a moderate room .
Review 8:Excellent position within easy range of the ferry port at Caen. Very friendly staff and easy parking. Very close to the castle and centre of Caen. Ideal for a night before or after a cross channel trip
Review 9:If you have a front room facing the road it is very very noisy at night. Light sleepers would find this very difficult.
Review 10:Nice rooms, easy to find pleasant staff.
Review 11:All the staff was extremely polite, very friendly and most helpful. The bed was extremely comfortable and the food from the restaurant was very tasty, well cooked and out of this world. Would definitely book this hotel again.
Review 12:No shampoo or conditioner provided. Thankfully I had my own.
Review 13:Very close to the ferry port, perfect for staying overnight when you have an early ferry to catch. The staff were very friendly and welcoming, very easy place to find
Review 14:My only complaint was that the room was too warm. We didn't want to leave the French doors open or even windows open as they were huge and we were on the first floor. We have small children so it didn't feel feel safe.
Review 15:Our room was really clean and spacious. It all looked like it had been newly decorated especially the bathroom.
Review 16:A basic hotel but everything was very good. Clean rooms, a nice breakfast. Public parking some 200m away. Close to the city center but in a nice and quiet neighborhood.
Review 17:Tea/coffee making facility only provided 1 coffee, 1 decaf coffee,1 normal tea, 1 green tea and 1 herbal tea, in a double room. Tough luck if the 2 of you want a coffee each! No sachet or capsule of milk either. The lift was very very small so getting luggage up was a trick, and when you got to the floor you had to still negotiate stairs to the room, something to be aware of if you struggle with stairs. Wifi was ok but did drop out a lot. Bit frustrating at times.
Review 18:Good location to the town. Staff very helpful and friendly. Good housekeeping standard.
Review 19:The receptionist could be a little more knowledgable. The door to the bathroom couldn't be opened all the way due to the smallness of the room.
Review 20:Good hotel for the price. The parking is not the responsibility of the hotel, clearly marked by the town and despite this the hotel made an effort to clearly inform us about the options.
Review 21:No air conditioning - we were originally allocated a room that faced into the sun, with all curtains open. It was like a furnace. Dreadful. After complaining, we were then allocated another room, which was cooler but still not as good as we have been used to whilst travelling France.
Review 22:The bathroom was a little bit tired but overall okay.
Review 23:Staff very pleasant, clean and good value for money. Bed was very comfortable, we needed a place just for one night, this was perfect.
Review 24:Very old plumbing system, bathroom had no ventilation had to open the windows to vent the moisture and steam from shower, as a result left a dead badger smell in the room.
Review 25:Cleanliness of room, brilliant location, minute walking distance from town, bars, restaurants and shops.
Review 26:For a king size bed in double room, the 120 cm bed we had was to small for two persons (and we are not fat). Another minus aspect were the pillows - too small and thin.
Review 27:Central location, clean room, all you need in the room for one night stay.
Review 28:Only small critism regarding cleaning is a small amount of mould in the corners of the shower cubicle but otherwise room very clean.
Review 29:Friendliness of staff and good location
Review 30:No dedicated parking. On street was fine, but if you intended to park all day, it could get problematic.
Review 31:Very central and convenient for bars and restaurants. It's no 5 star hotel but for a short stay it's perfect. Girlfriend thought it was a bit closed in, but in such a built up area, what do you expect!
Review 32:Small rooms. Basic other than King bed. No non french channels on cable. Breakfast buffet range good but quality poor. Less is more for French breakfasts
Review 33:Bed restaurant for dinner staff parking advice lift
Review 34:The downside of the central location is some noise at night at weekends.
Review 35:The staff were very helpful and friendly. They always had a smile and were happy to talk with us in either our bad French or their excellent English. We were able to have an early check-in and leave our bags late on our day of departure to fit in with our overnight ferry crossings.
Review 36:The lift was ridiculously small!!!
Review 37:The reception staff was very courteous, friendly and helpful. The accommodation looked freshly decorated and was very clean. The shower was excellent!
Review 38:First impressions are always the most important. On arrival the receptionist was not only courteous but extremely helpful. I was originally booked for two rooms, but the day before departure my travelling companion was taken ill and unable to travel. The receptionist kindly contacted Booking.com who in turn contacted me by phone and subsequently arranged for the room cancellation, which as we all know is contrary to the booking T's and C's. Thank you Hotel Quatrans and thank you Booking.com. I enjoyed a very comfortable stay and will return.
Review 39:The breakfast was under par, the breads and meats were not of good quality
Review 40:This hotel is ideally located to explore the city, the rooms are comfortable and nicely decorated
Review 41:Quite difficult to find without a sat navigation system as very near the centre of town where there are lots of one way streets. Parking very limited though we managed to find a very handy spot for overnight.
Review 42:Central location. Comfortable bed.
Review 43:Our first room had curtains that didn't close! Being on the front of the hotel, it was quite noisy, too. ( Our second room at the back on the 4th floor was more modern and perfectly quiet.) No eggs for breakfast!
Review 44:We stayed for one night after arriving in France and another before leaving by ferry. Perfect distance from the port; quite easy to find. Basic, clean hotel.
Review 45:Stayed here for 1 night before heading for ferry at Cherbourg next day. Location is very central.Room was very clean with a very good shower. Breakfast was E10 each which we had and enjoyed good choices. And we got the room for a very good price. I would stay at this hotel again.

Review 87:Location good.
Review 88:Noise both inside and outside hotel
Review 89:location
Review 90:The pillow was rock hard. The bathroom had no window or fan so got very steamy and hot very quickly.
Review 91:Good breakfast. Unfortunately, the attached restaurant was closed the evening that we wanted to dine there.
Review 92:Our room was a little cramped
Review 93:Well maintained and friendly
Review 94:Could not get connected to Wifi.
Review 95:The bed is one of the best
Review 96:very small room

Review 98:The room was a bit noisy. Probably the age of the building. sound seems to travel through the concrete structure, unabated.
Review 99:The position is excellent
Review 100:No air conditioning and beds were very hard.
Review 101:Location. Staff was very nice.
Review 102:Ensuite a bit tiny! Parking difficult .

Review 107:Small lift not suitable for more than two people and luggage. Public Parking
Review 108:Ideal location within a short walk of numerous restaurants.
Review 109:It would be helpful if the hotel had car parking. The lifts were also a bit cramped.
Review 110:very nice rooms and good location.
Review 111:rooms are tiny, and mainly really noisy for a supposed 3* hotel.
Review 112:Clean, well located, staff
Review 113:The room was very small and the lift had room for 2 people with no luggage so for one nights stay we had multiple trips to get our luggage upstairs.
Review 114:Very central, wonderful roof views from our room balcony. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Review 115:some noise in the street during the night, but fixing this is likely outside of the reach of the hotel owners. It was just a group of students.
Review 116:price was nice, and location was good
Review 117:Breakfast a bit of a bun fight. Took a while for food to be replenished. Shortage of crockery and drinks.
Review 118:Good size family room. Parking outside. Close to shops and bars. Clean and quiet. Ideal stop over venue.
Review 119:The room was like a box without any charm or comfort. Because it had no air conditioning and the summer was unusually hot, the room was very stuffy. I expect more from a three star hotel.
Review 120:The staff was helpful and friendly
Review 121:The hotel lacks private parking. Due to its location, public parking spaces were at times scarce. The bathroom was not at all functional. No air conditioning and noisy streets (or staff at the back of the hotel)
Review 122:The location was excellent, close to the main attractions, restaurants and shopping area
Review 123:No fridge in the room.
