Reviews for Chambre d'Hôtes des Ducs
Review 1:Superb en suite room off private courtyard. Modern, clean, totally quiet. Friendly staff. Great breakfast. Few minutes to good restaurants. Secure off street parking.
Review 2:Our friends had the better room on the ground floor with patio doors to the enclosed grounds but we had an upstairs room in the eaves. Which although very nice, had sloping ceiling in both bedroom and above bath/shower - not so good for my husband who is 6'4".
Review 3:Friendly helpful people running the place, very comfortable bed and very clean attractively decorated rooms. Good continental breakfast served in dining room.
Review 4:There is NO service in this place. Towel dryer out of order. After 3 days of stay I asked to change towels and clean the room. The host suggested me to leave if I don't like the service. He was rude, shouted at me. I left in the morning. Unacceptable.
Review 5:Location next to good restaurant. Room clean and spacy. Private garden, free parking.
Review 6:The hand held, stand up shower with a minimal screen meant that we washed the floor each time we showered. A few hooks in the bathroom would be helpful. Cereal with breakfast would be good.
Review 7:Our room was a generous size and very comfortable with a fabulous firm bed. The side door opened onto the garden. Our host was congenial and assisted us with our French. Wifi connection was great.
Review 8:Difficult to gain entry. Had to telephone for access. No bell or intercom at the gate which was locked.
Review 9:Quiet situation in centre of town with friendly and helpful owner. Nice and clean, plenty of room
Review 10:Friendly proprietor
Review 11:good location
Review 12:Friendly and helpful, spotless, comfortable, parking, wifi, breakfast. Five minute walk to town bars and restaurants.
Review 13:+ Cleanliness + Comfort and cozyness of the room + Size of the room + Bed + Breakfast + Friendliness of the host
Review 14:Having to wait until 18.00 to gain entry.
Review 15:Good breakfast and generous sized comfortable accommodation.Very conveniently placed for visiting Nevers.
Review 16:The property is not far from the city centre but can be a bit hard to find as it is behind a high wall. The rooms were very clean and comfortable and Eric was a wonderful host eager to provide us with information about the town. You need a map to find your way around the old town centre but there are some very good restaurants and cafés to be found.
Review 17:Its hidden away behind a building.
Review 18:Excellent value for money as included breakfast, close to restaurants and bars, absolutely beautiful décor and very comfortable and clean. Very friendly, sociable and helpful owner.
Review 19:The location within the town was in a slightly scruffy part (but it was only a short walk into the main part of town where we found an excellent restaurant. )
Review 20:This was an overnight stop heading south so my comments reflect that situation. The owner gave us a very friendly welcome and directed us to the main town so that we could find somewhere to eat as we arrived fairly late and it was dark. The room and shower room were spotlessly clean and the bed very very comfortable. The reception / breakfast area was particularly attractive. Secure parking when you have a car full of stuff was a real bonus. The continental breakfast was excellent.
Review 21:No English spoken, apparently. Special request email completely ignored. Had I had a response I would have cancelled and stayed elsewhere due to the late check-in rule which I had missed on the booking form. I suspect that's why I had no response.
Review 22:Didn't open till 6pm. Only there overnight and didn't haveenough time to explore.
Review 23:Good room, nice and clean with well equipped shower room. Breakfast wastypically French. Location was close to town for restaurants, bars andshopping. Owner very friendly.
Review 24:There was nothing to dislike
Review 25:Accomodation was modern and very clean. Breakfast was very good- true French style. Very charming host and although he could not speak much English he did try very hard to understand us.
Review 26:We didn't find Nevers a very pleasant town. Though this might be little unkind as our visit was an overnight stop on a Sunday. There were only two restaurants open in the centre, both appeared to give good value meals. We were on a return journey from the south of France and Nevers was chosen for its convenience of distance.
Review 27:Chambre D'Hote des Ducs is located a short walk into the town centre, so the bars/restaurants were convenient. The hotel is a recent refurbishment and has been done to a high standard. The room was very comfortable and the breakfast was good value. The owner was particularly pleasant and helpful.
Review 28:No fruit at breakfast and one way system did not help to locate it
Review 29:The welcome and friendliness of owner. The size and elegance of the room and the excellent breakfast. Its location in the grounds of large house in the suburbs is ideal for exploring Nevers.
Review 30:No tea or coffee. Lack of privacy, the rooms overlook the public area so you have to keep the blinds down. We arrived late and had communication difficulties even though I had sent an email advising of our arrival time which was within the check-in time stated on the site. When we got there the place was all closed up.
Review 31:Convenient for a stop over as part of a longer journey
Review 32:Nothing!
Review 33:This was a very well appointed boutique accommodation set in a secure walled garden. Facilities were excellent and we were well looked after by the owner. Restaurants and centre about 10 minutes walk away.
Review 34:A very small point but it would have been nice for the shower to be not just hand held.
Review 35:The owners, the quality of the place, the quality of the service - it was practically perfect in every way!
Review 36:imaculatly clean lovely host very comfortable ,beautiful decor, fresh breakfast ,secure parking ,near bars ,super market ,perfect stop off ,would visit again
Review 37:Weak WiFi in upstairs room
Review 38:Staff and location
Review 39:restaurants close by...expensive and not very good!!
Review 40:Very Hospitable clean very good continental breakfast
Review 41:Too bad the gentleman there did not speak any English.
Review 42:This place is very nice, with beatiful rooms and a garden with pool. The owner is very friendly and breakfast is excellent.
