Reviews for Hôtel des Arts
Review 1:Difficult on-street parking and a front door lock which needs the attention of a locksmith. Toilet/shower was cramped.
Review 2:Ideal location only a hundred yards or so from the beach. Cheap and adequate for our overnight stay. Only 20 minutes from the Channel Tunnel terminus in Calais.
Review 3:Nothing really to dislike.
Review 4:Great location - 100 m from beach - friendly owner, good traditional hotel and bar, with plenty of restaurants within walking distance (Comme Chez Soi is recommended).
Review 5:Tiny bathroom with non-functioning sink, noisy, slow macerator toilet and poorly hung sliding door. Thin walls, peeling paint in corridors, generally dated and overall rather uninviting.
Review 6:Town is very cute and hotel reasonably located (although not that easy to find). Room was clean.
Review 7:We stayed there 3 nights and the room was never done. Ventilation in the room was poor. The layout of the room was very weird therefore it felt like a tiny packed room. Very noisy toilet flush system. Breakfast very poor: industrial bread, out of consumption date yogurt, reduced choice of tea.
Review 8:Location was great. 3 min away from the beach.
Review 9:We loved the simple , clean hotel, just what we wanted. The owner was very friendly and welcoming. It was just a little walk to the beautiful beach , a perfect place before going back to England on the boat in the morning.
Review 10:Lack of parking. Hotel shut at 8pm and we arrived at 9pm. Owner did respond to phone call and opened up for us.
Review 11:Good price for basic room for a one night stopover. Nice town.
Review 12:Tea and coffee making facilities in the room would have been nice.
Review 13:Hotel was clean and comfortable. It was quite basic but good value for money. The beds were very comfy. We didn't eat breakfast so can't comment on the quality. Friendly owner
Review 14:It'd be nice if WiFi were available (even if I had to pay for it).
Review 15:The owners / staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and everything in the bathroom worked just fine. It's a great budget hotel for people who are out and about all day and who just want a simple, clean and nice place to stay.
Review 16:Some people may not like the overall condition of the property, and although we had fairly quiet neighbours it was obvious that soundproofing isn't brilliant.
Review 17:The hotel is well placed for the beach and town. The check in was easy and the room was a decent size, with a nice bathroom.
Review 18:Architecture of the rooms is terrible. The bathroom takes away the view
Review 19:Clean rooms, hot water, perfect shower, good bed. That's almost everything you need
Review 20:Our room (no.14) was a bit cramped, though our friends' room (no. 17) was fine.
Review 21:Short walk to the promenade (2 mins) & the town centre (4 mins). Very quiet even on a Saturday night, despite being on the road into town. Rooms nicely warm on arrival at the end of November. Unfortunately we could not stay for breakfast, but staff were very friendly on a short acquaintance!
Review 22:No beds were made during our stay, bins were not emptied and room not cleaned, very small poky room, could not open door fully because it was banging against the bed. No towels changed during our stay and ran out of shampoo after 1st night and had to buy our own
Review 23:The fact that it was an art nouveau exterior and some of the fittings were art deco and the en suite facilities were good. The host/owner was very pleasant
Review 24:Nothing
Review 25:Loved this quaint quirky hotel. We received a warm welcome, rooms were clean. If you're looking for something different this is the place to stay. So good we stayed there twice. Allo allo is not far off the mark brilliant thank you
Review 26:The room and ensuite bathroom were clean and newly decorated. Not luxurious but comfortable for a short stay. Le patron and family were friendly and helpful. Town centre location made for easy access to both the front and shops and restaurants.
Review 27:The friendliness & helpfulness of the owner. Was just as described, but warmer in hospitality than portrayed. We want to return for a longer stay. Thank you :-)
Review 28:our room this time was much too small for two people however if you can get one of the bigger rooms than that would be ok. Also very steep stairs and lighting leaves something to be desired.
Review 29:Very good location and a very good price
Review 30:as it is on the main road, it was a bit noisy overnight and it is quite basic. bit confusing as we arrived on a Wednesday early evening when reception is closed. Need better information regarding ease of access.
Review 31:reasonable price and not far from seafront, patron was friendly and helpful. Friendly Tabac across the road, also restaurant, The Ranch a little further into town on the left, excellent burgers/ steaks etc and good service.
Review 32:Single rooms are hard to find for solo travelers. This hotel had basic clean rooms with ensuite at a reasonable price. Don't expect the ritz - just a good nights sleep
Review 33:Lucky we weren't disturbed by others but I think walls very thin so could've been noisy.
Review 34:Location, very close to the beach. All needed for a one night stay.
Review 35:Room was a little dated but clean and for the price you could not complaink
Review 36:Loads of restaurants plenty of variety in a lovely seaside setting really clean area and quiet and the owner could not do enough to help you even put my motorcycle in his garage over night
Review 37:Check in slow and the proprietor got very confused about our booking.
Review 38:100m from a lovely sandy beach, clean if basic room. Good value for an overnight near the port.
Review 39:Door didn't shut very well and thin walls meant we were aware of sounds from the corridor and next room.
Review 40:Location - close to the seafront and the town centre. Clean. Good shower. Easy to park on the road near hotel.
Review 41:a basic double room is somewhat claustrophobic, dark and narrow for 2 people. Limited TV channels, though not terrible. Would have appreciated a kettle, as there is a little table with chairs. No elevator, so not good for those with limited mobility and parking in the area can be very difficult(though street parking was free)!
Review 42:Very close to beach, restos and shops, reasonable price for the area, clean and updated room, additional toilets on each floor.
Review 43:Parking a bit of a problem.
Review 44:A typical little French hotel a short walk from the beach. The room was small but perfectly adequate. I would definitely stay again when next in the area.
Review 45:Although we were pleased of course to find clean linen, pillows cases, towels etc and an excellent ensuite shower, the bed cover itself (quilt) was grubby.
Review 46:We were driving from south of France to Scotland (!) and this was an excellent stopping off place in a lovely little seaside town (that wasnt too built up). Simple and economic and basic is what we were looking for and it was excellent for that and the patron was very accommodating (we also had a dog).
Review 47:The room layout in room 17. Strange shape which meant that the bed had to be where it was but there was little clearance at the foot of the bed between the wall and bed, especially at one side.
Review 48:The welcome, the firm mattress as requested, delicious orange juice for breakfast.
Review 49:This was just what I needed. No fuss, helpful, clean and tidy...
Review 50:Welcoming, friendly staff and ideal location
Review 51:Good cheap basic accommodation. Ideal stop over
Review 52:Proprietor was very friendly and helpful, going out of his way to meet our needs.
Review 53:Very close to the sea. Free to come and as given key to side door.
Review 54:Great location Value for money
Review 55:The sound of the toilet. My God, I think it was trying to emulate a airplane-toilet.
Review 56:Good location, very nice staff.
Review 57:The location can t be better
Review 58:Nothing - you get what you pay for
Review 59:Location
Review 60:Friendly owner, free parking nearby, good French breakfast, quiet rooms.
Review 61:Unable to use any electrical appliances in your room apart from charging a phone
Review 62:Very good value
Review 63:Friendliness of hotel owner, location
Review 64:The bathroom was small
Review 65:A good location and nice and clean.
Review 66:poor breakfast not self service.no cheese or ham,had to ask for hot water, more butter and plates!
Review 67:good shower+soap shampoo etc.clean comfortable beds.
Review 68:Excellent location and very clean and comfortable
Review 69:Nothing.
Review 70:This is a basic hotel. It's not the Ritz and in my opinion was everything we needed as a base. Value for money considering.
Review 71:The welcome. Good value for money. Simple but clean , good for a night stay
Review 72:Nothing really
Review 73:Location, value for money
Review 74:Simple clean in a great location
Review 75:Thin walls, noise when people move through corridors and up steps.
Review 76:Hotelier very welcoming and genuine.
Review 77:Perfect overnight stop before getting on the ferry. Clean comfortable room. Not very big but OK for stop over. Would stay again.
Review 78:for the price : nothing at all!
Review 79:4 mn walking from train station and 2 mn from the beach? Pretty quiet. Clean. what else do you need ..? ;-)
Review 80:Be aware...the toilet in room number 17 screams in pain at you after you flush it and the place smells a little smokey, despite it being a non smoking hotel (probably due to the bar/ cafe underneath).
Review 81:We were looking for a hotel to stay in for one night in Wimereux as it is close to the Euro Tunnel. We had left it a little late to book and so the only option available to us was Hotel des Arts. For one night's stay, this hotel is fine. The owner was very pleasant when we walked in, greeting us and shaking our hands to welcome us. Despite speaking no English, he communicated what he wanted to tell us very well and our room, though a little on the slim size, was fine. However, it was cheap for the night and in a great location.
Review 82:There was nothing we did not like...........
Review 83:This is a typical small French hotel - nothing fancy but we had big new refurbished comfortable rooms. There would be plenty room for a family of four in Room 16. Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. Consisting of very fresh Baguette, yoghurts, fruit and cereal. ~Coffee ****** and juice. Perfect and right in town.
Review 84:Unable to use electrical appliances (e.g. Hairdryer kettle) other than an electric razor. Also no lift so if on 2nd floor might find steep stairs difficult.
Review 85:Excellent value excellent location and clean
Review 86:The breakfast as stated above
Review 87:Everything was what was expected for the price however my husband and I selected to have breakfast and this was very disappointing as we had the option of bread and jam a piece of fruit or a mini box of children cereal. The hotel was clean and the staff were ok and polite.
Review 88:We booked a family room with 2 single beds for the children but were given one with a small double bed with foam mattress. I normally regard the owner's lack of English as positive as it makes me speak French but on this occasion I could not even start to get the matter put right. I know that had I been able to communicate better he would have changed the room if he could.
Review 89:This is an old typically French hotel, which has old fashioned charm
Review 90:Decor all a bit tired looking! The window, which we opened at bed time, as we like fresh air, was wobbly and rattled in the wind all night! Only one pat of butter each, at breakfast time, for two generous peices of baguette each!
Review 91:Good value for money. Clean and comfortable rooms/beds. Friendly owner.
Review 92:Rooms very basic. Stairs were very steep. An experience and a hotel well worth it for young backpackers , etc
Review 93:Breakfast bagettes hit the button. Edge of town close to sea/promenade.
Review 94:Due to queues on the toll roads we turned up very late and in our dazed state forgot where we had parked the car. Everyone was very patient with us and helpful. Very comfortable bed.
Review 95:No Internet. No parking (on street parking available near by). Breakfast wasn't great.
Review 96:Location - 1 minute walk to lovely beach and restaurants. Comfortable clean room. Pet friendly. Very cheap for a family of 4.
Review 97:We had no problem with them but the stairs to the rooms are quite steep
Review 98:Charming staff, with old fashioned courtesy. The location is fairly close to the beach, bars and restaurants, and bus stops.
Review 99:Some noises made by the plumbing - but this was not a problem.
Review 100:That I was able to book one room for one person for one Saturday night in advance on the internet. Very good value for money. Not far from the station and the bus to Boulogne. Clean and tidy.
Review 101:-small room, but enough for only sleeping there
Review 102:-very new renovated rooms incl. new bed, bathroom -owners are very friendly -quiet rooms, also on frontside with traffic no problem -hotel was very clean
Review 103:Parking not very easy, especially on a Saturday night.
Review 104:Nice staff, accommodating and polite. Basic but functional room, perfectly clean. Excellent value for money
Review 105:hotel is being updated (noisy, messy). no bar in eve. no tea/coffee in room.
Review 106:friendly staff, warm room, good shower, nice cafe attached (when open).
Review 107:Close to the boulevard. Nice place for an overnightstop on the way to Bretagne. Good beds and shower.
Review 108:2nd floor with 2 babies, not easy stairs
Review 109:Good quality price ratio
Review 110:room 14 has the smallest bathroom wehave ever seen, and the room all one colour was very drab We will not return.
Review 111:Good for an overnight stop.
Review 112:Room was a bit small, but ok for one or two nights

Review 121:Drains outside the hotel
Review 122:Traditional French Charming.
Review 123:Old building. Old hard beds! We were in the car at 7 a.m. Terrible hotel, at a terrible place, old city.
Review 124:Location. Excellent shower.
Review 125:breakfast was a bit limited, however my French not great enough to ask for cereal
Review 126:great location , easy to find
Review 127:No evening lounge or drinks for a summer evening.
Review 128:Convenient, easy to walk around, close to town, beach, railway. Clean rooms, quiet location.
