Reviews for Chambres d'Hôtes Les Vieilles Digues

Review 1:Nothing....

Review 2:Loved the house and setting, walking distance to Mont St Michel and Danielle is just the most welcoming, warm and friendly hostess. Just a fantastic stay!

Review 3:This B&B was in an excellent location. Danielle and her husband are wonderful hosts and couldn't do enough for us. They made us feel so welcome. Danielle even called and booked a room for us at our next destination. It was a perfect experience. The best place we stayed on our 9 day trip!

Review 4:Nothing.

Review 5:The location was great, the owners were incredible and the price can't be beat. After spending 6 nights in Paris, it is almost hard to believe that you can get such value in France!

Review 6:Not really for the price we paid. The room was a bit smelly. We opened the windows but couldn't get rid of it.

Review 7:Locations: proximities to Mont-Saint-Michel, to non-touristic restaurants and shops which are scare in the area, and to a panoramic view spot which won't be noticed if not staying the place. Quiet environments. A beautiful, distant view of Mont-Saint-Michel from the front yard of this lodge.

Review 8:Excellent location, so close to Mont St. Michel! Everyone was extremely friendly and helpful. We had a great nights sleep and a delicious breakfast the next day.

Review 9:The host are very friendly even though we were late. You can leave your car there and walk 20mins to the free shuttle station of Mont Saint Michel. Highly recommend this B&B.

Review 10:Wonderful hosts. Best breakfast we've had in France. Homemade poundcake and jam were delicious. Excellent location to visit Le Mont St. Michel.

Review 11:The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything we needed. The staff were friendly and Danielle was a lot of fun. We got some good advice on restaurants and visiting Mont Saint Michel.

Review 12:The hostess was so friendly and made us feel so welcome , it was a pure pleasure to stay in the hotel. The room was typically french which made our stay even more perfect.

Review 13:Everything was excellent

Review 14:The owner is the kindest lady you will ever have the opportunity to meet. We were given a warm welcome when we arrived; when we left she took the trouble to come down and say goodbye. It has the feel of a really, really homely B&B. People are around if you want to chat, but you can also get off for some peace and quiet. Although not as convenient as the Hotel Mercure, the walk from the shuttle bus station is not far at all. I am glad we had the chance to stay, and if we return to visit MSM with our kids we would definitely book again without hesitation.

Review 15:Our Hosts were absolute Stars, with a lot of advice on the area. The area looked amazing and very relaxing with beaches only a short walk away, but unfortunately could not explore as much as we wanted as we were there for a wedding. We'll definitely be heading back sometime in the future to stay again.

Review 18:No Wi-Fi; it was unseasonably hot, and both doors had to be left open, so personal security was an issue; the room was quirkily furnished, but OK I guess

Review 19:The owner; location; room comfort

Review 20:This is what B&B should be like ! Great service, efficient and fun !! Thank you for such a great time. We don't want to go for Hotels no more !! We should have booked for one more night !!

Review 21:No TV in room three, but it's a small thing because it's not what we were there for.

Review 22:Location, parking and owners are great, caring and fun loving folks.

Review 23:We went there at my mother's recommendation, and she was more than right -- it is perfect. Wonderful, well-appointed rooms, a pretty garden, the warmest of welcomes from the hostess -- we felt right at home! Also, close are a delicious restaurant and a local shop. We will definitely be back!

Review 24:The location is within walking distance of the Mont. Hostess is effervescent, helpful and a wonderful communicator. Local restaurants (as recommended) were value for money and tasty.

Review 25:breakfast variety can be better :) Tv will be value added~

Review 26:Danielle, hosts is so friendly and helpful! Breakfast can be better. Free parking is great! 4km to Mont Saint Michel.restaurants are nearby, but more convenient to travel with car. Will definitely back to stay again. I love the style of the rooms!!

Review 27:Nothing~

Review 28:Danielle, owner is the most friendly staff i've ever met throughout our one month Europe Trip and Honeymoon! Thank you Danielle for the arrangement and thoughtful decorations. i love your room very much! Definitely will be back next time!

Review 29:We were disappointed we could not find a room in Mont Saint Michel so we had to fallback to this option. Wow thanks heaven for that: the friendliest and funniest host ever had, the room (nr 7) lovely, super tidy and where nothing was left to the case. Breakfast was good. Recommended

Review 30:The village is lacking good food restaurants. So better eat in Mont Saint Michel or somewhere else.

Review 31:Location is good, but not too close to Mont Saint Michel. Breakfast is okay.

Review 32:The only thing I didn't like was leaving!!

Review 33:This beautiful guest house was easy to find, close to the shuttle to Mont Ste Michel. The rooms were nice, comfortable and clean. No TV, but there were lots of books in the room and the grounds were beautiful and inviting. The proprietors were multi-lingual and very charming. Breakfast was plentiful and good. I would definitely recommend this this property!!

Review 34:Arrived after dark to a warm welcome by Danielle along with a nice restaurant suggestions for dinner. Our room was charming and comfortable for my husband, myself, and our 19 yr old daughter. Location was great for getting an early start to visit Mont St Michel. The breakfast was a treat and the homemade jams were a bonus. We'd happily stay here again.

Review 35:Wifi is a bit weak, but internet was working.

Review 36:Room is spacious and bed comfortable. Parking is large enough for several cars and helps very much. Mont Saint Michel is even visible from the location and reachable on foot. Breakfast was well organized. Owner has been very kind with us helping out with information and calling a restaurant to reserve. Definetely a good choice!

Review 37:We couldn't stay longer.

Review 38:We arrived to a very warm welcome, my son and I had had a lovely time exploring the Mont St Michel and this just made our day. Very close to the Mont and easy to find and very clean and comfortable rooms. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious but best of all was being made to feel one of the family. We will most definitely be back.

Review 39:All aspects, quiet, real customer service, great breakfast, free ample carparking, great wifi which in most places across France is terrible, but this excelled in all areas.

Review 40:We stayed here for one night while visiting Mont St Michel. The location was great as the B &B was less than five minutes away. The owner Denise, was waiting for us. Extremely nice and accommodating lady, She even brought us breakfast to have in our room for the next morning since we had to leave earlier than the included breakfast service. The room was extremely clean and very cozy, I only regret not having been able to enjoy it during daylight since the garden was beautiful! Great price too!

Review 41:The area around Mont St Michel has lots of mosquitoes so I would highly recommend taking insect repellant.

Review 42:The B&B was on the main street going to Mont St Michel, close enough to walk or a 5 min drive to the parking lot for the tram. The couple who own the B&B were very friendly and helpful. The room was lovely, spotless and had a hot water pot in the room with coffee and tea fixings. The rooms were set back from the road and off of a small courtyard so it was very quiet for sleeping. The garden was lovely, although we did not have time to enjoy it.

Review 43:Absolutely nothing!

Review 44:Location, car park, quiet room, delicious breakfast and the very kind owners, Danielle and Kim. Danielle gave us excellent recommendations on local restaurant choices and local sightseeing in the region besides MSM. Excellent two night stay!

Review 45:Mosquito's :)

Review 46:Great location, friendly owners. Had a wonderful time. Much better to stay here and take the shuttle to the Mont, rather that fight the crowds.

Review 47:The lady who runs the hotel was delightful, very friendly and welcoming, went out of her way to help us! The room was well equiped and the bed was very comfortable, we booked late and ended up with a room without a bathroom, this turned out to be no problem at all as the bathroom was literally next door and was only for us so it was essentially a private bathroom anyway! The breakfast was extensive with a lot of variety, we were late down to breakfast and they kept it open an extra 20 minutes for us in order that we did not miss out! We only stayed one night but it was perfect for us visiting Mont Saint Michelle quickly for the weekend!

Review 48:No tv.

Review 49:Great breakfast. The owner went above and beyond in lending someone in our party a pair of shoes for sightseeing! Very friendly atmosphere, nicely decorated rooms, perfect location.

Review 50:I think ours was only room with bathroom across the hall but it did not present any problems

Review 51:Great host and hostess. Quiet and peaceful. I'd stay there again!

Review 52:Everything was perfect.

Review 53:A wonderful property with charming and welcoming hosts. The property is close enough to walk to MSM if you are walkers and it was a lovely way to approach the Mont. I highly reccomend this property!

Review 54:No AC (it wasn't hot when we traveled but FYI), no in-room safe, shower tended to run out of hot water kind of quickly.

Review 55:Excellent location, a 3-mile hike down a riverbank pedestrian trail to the entrance of Mont St-Michel or a short walk to the shuttle. Delightful owners. Cozy decor, great wifi, good breakfast spread. Rooms are very quiet, the outdoor patio is lovely. Private parking. Would definitely stay there again!

Review 56:bathroom and shower were a little small but not a bad hotel for the night

Review 57:Easy to find, close to Mont St. Michel, staff was very pleasing, helpful with recommendations for diner

Review 58:The room was marvellously arranged, despite late arrival we were greetedby Daniela with the utmost hospitality. It's a pity we only had onenight there. Short walk to the shuttle bus stop to Mt St Michel. Easycar park. Great breakfast. Book if you can.

Review 59:A delightful little bed and breakfast just a few short minutes from Mont St. Michel. The owner, Danielle, was wonderfully warm, welcoming, and helpful. The B&B was charming and lovely. We'd definitely stay again should we decide to return.

Review 60:Noise from road until midnight, but then quiet. 90 EUR is rather expensive, but justified by the convenient location.

Review 61:We had the red room. It is nice and large and the bathroom is good. Excellent bed. Very friendly host, speaking German and English. Good breakfast.

Review 62:Can't think of one.

Review 63:Excellent hospitality from Danielle and Kim. Rooms and the little garden around are comfy and gorgeous. Breakfast is excellent and make us feel like home. Definitely a value for money choice. One thing to note is that the B&B is not very close to the coach stop from Rennes - it takes around 10-15 minutes to walk to the B&B. We found out later that people usually rent a car and drive there to visit Mont. St Michel which makes transportation easier. Free parking is available at the B&B.

Review 64:room was a little warm but we knew it was a summer night stay when we booked. fan actually did a good job.

Review 65:gorgeous and clean. slept well but it was warm and had to close window (mosquitos). needed a fan. Danielle was great, spoke perfect English for us. a perfect host for breakfast. outdoor garden was a nice touch. location was excellent for Mont Saint Michel. parking a plus. the second floor view was also a plus.

Review 66:Mattress was ok but they could use a new one.

Review 67:Only a 3 km. walk to the Mont St. Michele pedestrian walkway or shuttle bus terminal. Quaint, clean home with lovely gardens and a great breakfast. Very friendly and helpful people.

Review 68:We found our hosts to be very friendly, efficient and helpful, especially in their recommendation of restaurants for dinner. The location to Mont St Michel was great. We would have stayed Nother night had the rooms been available.

Review 69:Nothing negative to report.

Review 70:This is a wonderful place to stay. Daniela is charming and a gracious hostess. Breakfast was delicious with lots of variety, including home-made yogurt, bread and jam. Our room was beautiful and just perfect for a mother and daughter - nice touch with the flowers on the bedspreads. We highly recommend this establishment.

Review 71:There was a bit far from the nearest shuttle bus station. If there was a bike, it would be better.

Review 72:The owners were super kind. Although it's summer, the day was super cold. We didn't prepare for that. And they borrowed us their coats! And the breakfast, room...perfect.

Review 73:We were greeted by Danielle the evening we arrived. She genuinely loves people and has an excitement about welcoming guests from around the world. The room was very clean and decorated in antiques. The location to Mont St Michel couldn't be better! You can see it from the front yard of the home.
