Reviews for Saint Jean

Review 1:I did'nt like the heating in the room, which is an air conditioner that can blow warm air. Its too noisy to leave on all night & means the room is quite cool in the morning. (prefer a good old radiator).

Review 2:Pleasant hotel, free street parking close by. Room small but clean & comfortable, nice shower / bathroom. Nice view from my room (24). Nice breakfast's. I'm sure Wimereux is a nice village in the summer season, but I stayed in January and it was very quiet.

Review 3:Not the Hotel's fault of course, but street parking is extremely limited and did not seem very safe, so try to book early to secure one of the three off-street and very secure car parks at a nominal extra price.

Review 4:The Hotel is well situated in lovely Wimereux. The rooms are reasonably large and very well equipped. The staff we met were all very friendly and helpful and all had excellent English. The bar as well appointed and a pleasant place for a quiet drink. We did not eat at the hotel so cannot comment on the food.

Review 5:The breakfast was ok but not worth 12 euros.

Review 6:Helpful friendly staff. Bed very conferable and hot showers. Good to have a bar to have a drink before you go out.

Review 7:We are a band on tour. We needed somewhere quick as it was 1 am an raining. They served us everything we wanted into the early hours. And with a smile! !!!! Rooms were great too.

Review 8:Everything was very good.

Review 9:Extremely clean, excellent location and the staff were lovely. I will absolutely be staying here again on my next visit. It's a bargain.

Review 10:breakfast is 12 Euros, and the car park is pretty small (fine if you don't have a van) but there is parking along the road anyway

Review 11:Really pleased with this, only booked it as a cheap one night prior to going on the eurotunnel, and it was clean, comfortable, very near the beach/promenade and close to lots of great restaurants

Review 12:Not a biggie, but 12€ for continental breakfast is expensive, so just got from shops. As well as brought own travel kettle as none in room.

Review 13:Great location, although not on seafront, nice sea breeze. Good WIFI and aircon. Friendly staff.

Review 14:Traffic noise in the early morning, between 6am and 7:30am in particular.

Review 15:Well designed and presented room. The staff were friendly and approachable. Just right for a last night before returning via Eurotunnel.

Review 16:The location was perfect and everywhere an easy walk. We would highly recommend the breakfast at the hotel- great value for money and not easy to find breakfast locally. Although lots of lovely restaurants they don't open for breakfast.

Review 17:Perhaps would prefer pastel colours in the room (was too much red), no extractor in the bathroom, too expensive.

Review 18:the bed, location, the room, had smart lift, nice building

Review 19:Perfectly located in a lovely French seaside resort. Excellent choice for a weekend break, lovely room looking out over the bridge and very spacious shower. Entertainment in the square could have been noisy but air con on and windows shut eliminated the noise.

Review 20:Would have been nice to have tea and coffee facilities in the room

Review 21:Lovely clean rooms . Comfortable beds . Free wifi . Close walk to shops restaurants and beach

Review 22:The fact that the air conditioning had been broken for two days really spoiled our stay as it was a very hot evening/night and very noisy with the window open. The reception could not find our reservation on arrival initially despite it having been confirmed two days earlier by phone.

Review 23:Well set out room with clean design and good internal sound proofing. Lift available and conveniently located close to town centre.

Review 24:One of the party fell from her bicycle so needed help getting to A&E and then a taxi, with bikes, back to Calais. The staff were absolutely first class and did all they could to help us with this - outstanding individuals; very friendly people too. The breakfast was similarly excellent - plennty of fruit, cereals, pastries as well as bacon and eggs.

Review 25:Air conditioning did not work ,when we advised management they replied that they knew and we're waiting for repairs to be carried out.Room was therefore hot . Room faced road and was noisy.

Review 26:Room was large ,bathroom facilities God

Review 27:Hotel is located within walking distance of the beach, shops, cafes and restaurants. Comfortable and clean and quite, we had very relaxing good sleep. plenty of hot water and ac was good in room. We didn't have breakfast so cant comment. No need to book parking as plenty of free parking spaces on the same street. Staff recommended restaurants and places to visit. Theres a well stocked bar and arm chairs to sit and relax. shops across the bridge two minutes away. All good restaurants need booking so if you fancy one whilst walking past book it for the evening don't take a chance, we nearly went without dinner...

Review 28:The hotel was calm and comfortable. Room was clean and well equipped. Great breakfast with lots of choice. Very nice lounge for guests and the bar was pretty good too.

Review 29:The Shower cubicle base was far too slippery for safety.

Review 30:Safe street parking outside hotel 5 minutes walk from sandy beach, post office & shops. Air conditioning.

Review 31:absolutely fab hotel, clean, beds very comfy. We travelled with young family had bikes on catr secure parking available at small charge. Had quadruple family room very clean with lovely view. Great little town & fab choice restaurants only about 20 mins from Calais. Great stop over for early ferry/euro tunnel crossing

Review 32:Nothing really. Room a little bit warm but fine when we opened the window

Review 33:The location was perfect for a last night stopover. Very clean and comfortable and a good breakfast

Review 34:The friendly staff were welcoming, kind and accommodating. When asking about restaurants we were given excellent asvice! The position of the hotel provided easy walking access to town and the seafront. The rooms in the hotel are large and spacious. The bed was a little basic but did not detract from a lovely stay.

Review 35:One small comment: it would be good to have a kettle, cups, tea and coffee in the rooms.

Review 36:Hotel is very welcoming, in a great location in a really charming seaside town. Very good cocktails as well.

Review 37:everything was great we had a great 2 night break and would definitely choose this hotel again.

Review 38:welcome and the breakfast. staff were always very willing to help.

Review 39:Great little hotel for a long weekend or one night. The staff were very attentive and the Lounge and bar provided a place to relax and play some old classic board games and place to come back to for a relaxing drink before or after going out for dinner. Would stay again.

Review 40:Very hard and uncomfortable pillows.

Review 41:The cleanliness of the hotel in general and of the bathroom in particular. Good value for money breakfast, with great choice.

Review 42:the initial welcome from the reception, very un- welcomimg, stood at the bar and even though the receptionist was less than ten feet away and saw us go to the bar , she never made any attempt to ask what we wanted she just carried on eating, we went elsewhere for a drink

Review 43:location

Review 44:Did like the varied buffet breakast but thought the price was rather high (@ 12 euros per person), and would've preferred it to have been included in the room charge initially.

Review 45:The good location near the town, plus the nice, cosy room (on 3rd floor), overlooking the small river by side of hotel. Shame we appeared to be the only people staying there!

Review 46:Lack of hotel parking and nearby parking space can be inconvenient.

Review 47:Excellent location for a short break in the Pas de Calais region. Convenient position for the town and local amenities. Friendly and helpful staff as always. Comfortable rooms and good modern bathrooms.Excellent breakfast.

Review 48:Parking might be difficult in mid to high season? Quite expensive for low season when hotel not very busy or full .

Review 49:Comfortable bed , good size room but decor a bit dated .

Review 50:room 32 has a sliding door to the bathroom and toilet and it not easy to ensure it is properly closed the tv sound needs attention

Review 51:my late wife and i stayed here some 10 years ago.it hasnt changed that much.the dining room and bar are as i remember them. the staff were friendly and amenable.service at the bar was good and there was a good choice at breakfast

Review 52:The continental breakfast was a bit over priced for what was on offer - however very enjoyable with a fair choice of meats cheeses and breads

Review 53:Next to the river with plenty of off street parking. Close by to the square, and good restaurants, and bus stops. A short walk away from the sea front and plenty of good walks near by

Review 54:Nothing to dislike

Review 55:Easy to find. Just down the road from the sea. Lovely French town. 30 minutes from channel tunnel. Excellent restaurant 50 metres from the hotel. Good breakfast.

Review 56:I would have liked a coffee making facility in the room. Breakfast was expensive for kids.

Review 57:Great people, friendly, helpful and charming. Great breakfast. Clean Neat and tidy. Lovely little town. Excellent family room Easy to find Recently renovated and really great environment as a consequence.

Review 58:We could find nothing to fault in the hotel.

Review 59:The room was comfortable, the staff helpful, the breakfast offered a good variety. There is a pleasant bar to use in the evening. The overall experience is impressive, especially considering the reasonable price.

Review 60:Single bed was a little uncomfortable, but still didn't stop me sleeping!

Review 61:Staff - super polite & helpful Room - good enough for 3 of us. Free wifi great. Simple but sufficient breakfast. Good location for shops & beach.

Review 62:Only stayed there the one night, wished we stayed for a lot longer.

Review 63:Great location, short walk to seafront, bars and lovely restaurants. Hotel was clean and comfortable.

Review 64:The location. Short walk to sea and town centre. The family room. Air conditioned, spacious and comfortable. Friendly staff and comfortable bar and sitting room areas to relax in.

Review 65:Our room for four was tight but very clean and fine for the night. The air-conditioning was a plus, since leaving windows open at night is not an option due to the noise of the main road it's located on. We parked in the street but could see our car from our hotel window.

Review 66:We had a really pleasant and comfortable stay in a quiet location that was also near the centre and a couple of minutes walk to the sea . Parking was useful: prebook.

Review 67:The breakfast room is small and overflows into the bar area where seating and tables are not really suitable. Eat early or late! I am a large person and the small squashed-in toilet in room 10 is uncomfortable.

Review 68:Position is very convenient and it is useful to have the garage. Comfortable bed. Adequate electric sockets. Good breakfast. Staff are competent but not friendly, which is a shame.

Review 69:The Room :- We were warned about the wet room floor as we checked in. It turned out to be downright dangerous when wet and we covered it in towels to walk on. The shower head and support rail were loose on the wall and shower was difficult to operate. A support rail came away from the wall and they were unable to repair it during our stay. The Bar. I asked for an Irish coffee, it arrived with no whisky in it. We did not drink in the bar again. Breakfast VERY expensive for what it is. Bacon barely cooked and too tough to chew properly.

Review 70:Location, beds good and the rooms were quiet.

Review 71:Slightly disappointed that there were no in-room tea or coffee making facilities but apart from that we thought this was a lovely little hotel in a very pleasant sea-side town.

Review 72:We stayed here for a couple of nights with our daughter and her grandparents and we all had a very pleasant stay. Free parking was available in the roads outside and it's a short stroll to shops, restaurants and the sea front. The satff were excellent and the hotel was nice and quiet with countryside in one direction and the town centre and beach in the other.

Review 73:This is the second time that we have stayed at the Hotel St Jean in Wimereux and both times we have thoroughly enjoyed both the hotel and Wimereux. The staff in the hotel couldn't be more helpful, the breakfasts were nice and the rooms clean and well appointed. We have found some excellent restaurants in Wimereux that we look forward to visiting again in the not too distant future.
