Reviews for Hotel Bella Playa & Spa
Review 1:outdoor pool very shady and cool but that could be helpful in the height of summer
Review 2:Excellent food helpful staff Good nearby trails for a walking holiday prices reasonable
Review 3:It would have been nice if there were a few British people at the hotel. Maybe you could give a hint as to who mainly goes to your hotels.
Review 4:The Spa was exceptional. Really powerful jets on so many different areas within the pool. 31C pool temperature and really clear water. The showers will amaze you, various spray patterns run in a programme once you press the start button.
Review 5:Pool is in the shade for most of the day. Having to sit at same table for every meal.
Review 6:Modernised room is nice although the bathroom is small. Good location for the beach and for walking. Food is okay. Staff are nice and helpful.
Review 7:95% people seemed to smoke and had facilities provided to encourage them in this non-smoking hotel. The facilities (mini golf/archery, etc) were in poor condition
Review 8:Welcoming people
Review 9:Gym is not even a 2 star!
Review 10:Nice SPA compared to other hotels nearby.
Review 11:Staff unintrested. The rest of te structure old, gym prehistoric
Review 12:The spa area.Rooms renovated
Review 13:The pool area was amazing!
Review 14:Pool was abit cold
Review 15:Nice staff good food
Review 16:Nothing...
Review 17:The hotel staff is very professional; the breakfast is fantastic. The location, near Cala Agulla, is awesome.
Review 18:room a little bit too small but recently renovated
Review 19:Great food, quite, nice spa pool, great location
Review 20:Naked unisex sauna & we asked for a double bed which the hotel doesn't provide & had two singles pushed together, also the pillows were rather thin & only one per bed which was a bit uncomfortable. Breakfast was ok if limited, juice from a minute maid machine was vile & a disappointment, fresh juices or even better quality cartoned juice would be better. Service however was friendly & fast. No pool towels available however they are available to rent
Review 21:The location is great - cala agulla very beautiful beach with clear calm waters, indoor pool was lovely but the hotel is popular with Germans who enjoy naked saunas which we found a bit odd in a unisex area (this is only open 3-8pm & off limits to even older kids which was a shame as our 17 & 13 yr old like a sauna & couldn't thus enjoy) the games area - 2 full table tennis tables & pool table were enjoyed & well sited near the pool & bar area. Daily room cleaning was good.
Review 22:Outdoor pool rather basic, plenty of sun beds but the beautiful trees obliterate the sun from the area.
Review 23:Location of hotel convenient to beach, town and countryside. Well managed restaurant with allocated seating. Spa was excellent.
Review 24:We booked this hotel because of the internet - which the hotelspecifically stresses in their advertising. Unfortunately wifi was mostof the time not working. Only a limited amount of connections seem to beallowed at the same time: during the evening hours and bad weather (whenevery one wants to use it), internet was not working. When mentioningthis at the reception, we once got an answer "not my problem"and another time "it's your device" (which was clearlyuntrue). This directly defined our opinion on the hotel staff. During a10 day stay, only 2 times the soap was replished, even though the amountof soap was just enough for 2 persons taking 1 shower. The hotel gardenhas only few chairs which are useful for sun bading (most are covered inshade of many trees - which is an advantage when it is too hot);although the hotel prohibits to occupy empty chairs with towels, mostguests do it anyway. Not specifically for the hotel, but more for Cala Ratjada: this is a German village; if you ask something in english, you get an answer in german. If you ask something in spanish, you get an answer in german. The beach is very beautiful but too small for such amount of tourists and therefore too crowded. It is very far located from the airport. If you don't hire a car, it is a very loung journey. Bus services who collect tourists in different resorts seem to drive the route airport - porto christo and then up to cala ratjada (visiting all resorst in between); which makes cala ratjada the last destination on the route (for us it meant a 2,5 hour bus drive - longer than the flight itself !).
Review 25:The hotel is closely located to the beach (unlike many other hotels incala ratjada) The hotel has nice facilities to enjoy time during badweather (gym, spa, inside swimming pool, reading room, table tennis, games) we enjoyed it The breakfast is good (except for the juice) Thehotel has good facilities to spend the day you're checking out: wehad an evening flight, checked out at 12, spent the day on the beach andused the special shower and towels near the locker room for thesuitcases If you are are beginner in learning german, this is theperfect place to be, you're just forced to speak it (even betterthan going to germany where people may answer you in english whennoticing your german is not perfect)
Review 26:The hotel is quite old and you can see it.... The soundproofing is definitely very bad and if you are unlucky to have noisy neighbours who come back at 5 in the morning, you will be woken up!
Review 27:The location is perfect!
Review 28:There was nothing to dislike about the hotel. Just consider noisy activities near the Bella Playa poolside and in the hotel across the road - 2-3 days a week you will be entertaines till midnight. But this is only one side of the building, other views are completely quite. Cala Rajada itself is not a beach side: local bay has no toilets, no fresh water shower, and huge stones protrude the sand - be careful! We mainly were using Polenca or some other places while travelling through the beautiful Majorca, so if the seaside tanning is not your priority - no problem with this nice hotel.
Review 29:The hotel is populated by German tourists > 95% I guess, and this brings a great benefit,"die Ordnung": everything works; everything is clean; every question gets response. The food is very fair, all special requirements are addressed. Location a bit aside from the main bazar of Cala Rajada I would also regard a benefit
Review 30:Very friendly and efficient staff. Relaxed and clean environment with good food. Spa facilities though Sauna could have been open earlier. Access to tennis.
Review 31:There was not so much variation on the main dish for the dinner. Always some fried chicken or fish, potatoes and / or pasta. The salads and the desserts were fine. There was a certain linking in the bathroom and we had to put a couple of towels on the floor after the shower. We got but daily new fresh ones though.
Review 32:The complex of the swimming pool, the terrace outside, the terrace semi open air and the restaurant inside looking at the terrace makes it all very comfortable and enjoyable. Also the high trees over the swimming pool. At night for a drink after the dinner. Or during the day after a swim on Cala Agula. Our room was very modern and the air conditioning worked very good. The staff was very friendly and professional.
Review 33:Reception staff was a bit straight and not providing additional information like main attractions or water sports companies, nothing beyond the hotel details and bus routes. Spa is only open in the afternoon so we couldn't use on the day of our check out. Everything in the town is surprisingly in German, being a Spanish island.. True that most tourists come from Germany but local language and traditions shouldn't be obscured by tourism influence. Also, the near-by beach Cala Agulla get's really crowded in July.
Review 34:The spa is excellent, hydro-massage pools, sauna, thermal bath and showers.. And it was almost empty for us. It was really appreciated after a long day of travelling to Cala Ratjada and spending the afternoon on the beach. Everything very clean and still feels like new.
Review 35:had to pay for water with evening meal 1.80 e for a small bottle
Review 36:very good hotel staff always friendly and helpful .i had a single room and didnt pay a supplement , it was small but had everything i needed with a good sized balcony with a sea view. i was there the first week in october the weather was perfect there where loads of sun beds pool usually empty spa pool was quiet and every where was very clean.
Review 37:This hotel is very well managed and can satisfy the needs of any kind oftourist - young couples, families with children, etc. It has a very niceswimming-pool, minigolf course and even a fantastic Spa.
Review 38:room a little small if you stay for a longer period. Air conditioning has limited capacity during hot days. food from buffet (breakfast and diner) enough but limited choice to our opinion.
Review 39:location is a typical tourist place not too far from the beach. hotel swimming pool is good partly in shaddow. hotel staff friendly.
Review 40:The hotel and Cala Ratjada in general is very much a German holiday destination. As Germans are generally very quiet, organised and friendly people, we didn't mind that at all, but if you're looking for a town with more of an international mix I would book in another village.
Review 41:Great hotel. Nice, very clean Spanish-style airconditioned rooms with view to the pool. We booked a room with breakfast, but apparently half board accomodation is always included in this hotel, so that was a nice surprise.Fantastic fresh and tasty buffet food, with lots of choices. Friendly people.Good pool with sufficient loungers. There is also a really nice spa with a steambath, indoor swimming pool and sauna, and a gym.The hotel is close to Cala Agulla beach, a very beautiful beach.
Review 42:- Only for people who get up early, sleeping is allowed only till 8:30am. Then comes the room service and they will wake up even the dead. The noise they make you can only compare to a demolition works. It seems the ladies like playing carling with furniture for an hour of so. I got an explanation from the manager that it's due to busy time and they have a lot of check-ins and rooms to clean. Still, we, tourists, pay a lot of extra for a busy period, so we would expect more staff is hired rather than making hell on earth to every client staying in the hotel. It's a realy pity because the rooms are quiet otherwise (apart from some 409-425 rooms where there is a noise comming from ventilation system on the roof of the building).- Some staff members speak only in German, - Just nitpick, tea could be better if boiling water would be hot, not just lukewarm.
Review 43:+ Close to one of the most beautiful beaches in Mallorca - Cala Aguilla+ Very good breakfasts, fresh fruits, lots of different breads, pancakes, good jams, cheese + Good food for diabetes, + Friedly staff (although focused strongly on German tourists), + Pleasant small city with lots of good bars and restaurants, + Good, new bathroom with the bathtube, + Nice and quiet rooms (but only till 8:30am, read more below)
Review 44:Beautiful location. Relaxed atmosphere in hotel, nothing too much trouble, lovely helpful staff. Good variety of menu with local specialities. Enjoyable evening entertainment. Fantastic walking programme in which we saw the "real Mallorca" with hotel guide.
Review 45:Very poor W-Lan connection
Review 46:Coming home.
Review 47:Location to go walking.
Review 48:Air conditioning could have been colder, that being said: I was comfortable, once it was running for a while.
Review 49:Everything was wonderful
Review 50:Tennis Swimming pool and Spa are great Breakfast and dinner are ok
