Reviews for Baumanière - La Cabro d'Or
Review 1:Service was terrible. It shouldn't take more than 45 minutes for them to bring something we asked to our room. I can go on. I was served a bottle of wine that was corked; when I pointed that out to the sommelier, he arrogantly told me that that was what it's supposed to be like. He has no idea how much I know about wine; it was corked, period. In any case you don't argue with the customer regarding this; we paid thousands of euros for our stay and the wine was just €110; it's not worth it. Everything is so good about this place except service.
Review 2:Location. Breakfast.
Review 3:Don't bother to eat at the 2 star Michelin restaurant; the food in the lower restaurant is just as good and half the price.
Review 4:The setting, the facilities are marvelous.
Review 5:Think we got one of least attractive rooms from pictures I have seen, but the room was comfortable, although up 2 flights of steps.
Review 6:Beautiful setting. Excellent service although very pricey for only morning coffee.
Review 7:Cold Pool. Confused check-in due to two centre arrangement of Hotel.
Review 8:Michelin starred Oustau restaurant. Lovely room. Location near Les Beaux. Gardens. Lovely Staff. Cabro D'or Restaurant in main Hotel
Review 9:Bathroom, old matress, not properly working A/C, bad Wi-Fi, expensive and bad breakfast- poor value for money. Not what it used to be 20 to 10 years ago!!!
Review 10:Gardens and pool
Review 11:The Baumaniere has always been a class act. The addition of Cabro d'Or has not diminished it. The grounds are beautiful, the room was amazing, the food, the gardens, all fantastic. 5 star all the way!
Review 12:We took our 14 month old, and initially were put in a suite on the 2nd floor, and although it was beautiful it was anything but practical. The suite itself had 2 levels. We eventually got moved but only after threatening to check out early. After the move it was much better on the ground floor. Staff aren't helpful (except for the bell boy who was brilliant), we weren't told that breakfast wasn't included, so not best pleased about that. Food is top notch if a little pricey. A lovely place, but not ideal for kids.
Review 13:Location, food.
Review 14:The hotel just opened that week after the winter closure and there were lots of building works happening at the front of it. Not great.
Review 15:The hotel was very calm and quiet and we enjoyed relaxing in its beautiful grounds
Review 16:Booked at Ousteau, end up at Le Manoir, ie a different location even if they pretend it is the same group, basically it isn t. Room was good though but very light in terms of staff. Had the feeling to be in a nice B&B rather than a Relais & Chateaux. Restaurant massively over priced: not less than Eur500 with an average bottle of wine and 2 tasting menus, just for a 2 michelin stars.
Review 17:Nothing - everything was PERFECT!!!!
Review 18:The guigou domain for our rooms was nothing short of fantastic with a suite consisting of two adjoining guest rooms and a central living room, all opening unto a magnificent terrace where we're were served a great breakfast each morning. The suppers on the main buildng's terrace is a five-star gastronomic delight with service to match. We enjoy fine dining and this place ranks at the top of our list - worlswid, not just in France.... They absolutely deserve thei Relais de Chateau rating without any doubt.
Review 19:Le restaurant la cabro d'or
Review 20:The setting is magical. The food is excellent without being trendy or fancy. The wine list is a treasure trove!
Review 21:Amazing location and service. The food was superb!
Review 22:Fabulous restaurant experience and stunning location.
Review 23:Lighting of internal paths and roadways needs improving.
Review 24:The food is outstanding and the situation marvellous.
Review 25:It's a bit unorganised still since the merger between Baumaniere and La Cabro D'Or
Review 26:Food, service and location all excellent.
Review 27:How to get there by car is not very clear.
Review 28:Great place to stay, good air. full of grass scent,
Review 29:Beautiful hotel, situated central to multiple other lovely destinations . Perfect for luxurious home base when exploring the area
Review 30:restaurant staff especialy chef and kitchen staff was extra ordinary
Review 31:Excellent food, beautifully presented. Amazing view from the windows and balcony of the valley below.
Review 32:Truly one of the finest hotels in the world with a stunning location in Beaux de Provence and outstanding cuisine and wonderful staff .
Review 33:The hotel property is too spread out and it is an effort to go to the main hotel. No biscuits with tea, no thoughtful extras, like fresh flowers in the room.
Review 34:The place and the landscape were beautiful and almost idyllic. The food was fantastic and presented beautifully.
Review 35:As a frequent visitor to Les Baux and Beaumaniere in particular, I find it a perfect place for a short break (or a long break if you can afford it) That's why we come back year after year.
Review 36:they just forget complementary water in the room for the following day...
Review 37:Wonderful place and a real high class restaurant, excellent food exceptional menu degustation and agreeable service
Review 38:Ostau was closed for the season and we stayed at the sister property Cabro D'Or down the road.
Review 39:This is a beautiful location. The restaurant deserves its Michelin rating.
Review 40:Bedroom N°1 is just not acceptable in a "relais et chateaux" and never worth 320€ for one night and breakfast for two people. it is the poorest accomodation we've ever experienced in a "5 stars hotel" .
Review 41:location and breakfast
Review 42:The michelin starred restaurant was the only eating option, which while fantastic was a bit full on to be eating at every night of our stay. Also the spa for the hotel was a good kilometre away at the sister hotel Cabre d'Or. If I had my time over I would have stayed there and just visited the restaurant at this hotel.
Review 43:Restaurant was amazing, staff were very helpful, pool was awesome and the views were spectacular - really close to a bunch of really beautiful villages and major towns, very easy to get to.
Review 44:The continental breakfast was 52 Euros for two people. It did not seem worth it, but there are not any nearby options for breakfast.
Review 45:I had heard lots of good things about Oustau and it did not disappoint. The grounds are stunning. We stayed at the Manoir in a room with a terrace. It basically had it's own private patio. The room itself was quite large and had a more rustic charm, the bathroom was fantastic and updated with all the amenities. The gardens and the main property were beautiful as well. We ate lunch at the 2 star Michelin restaurant at the hotel. It was very pricey (as expected) but definitely worthwhile. As one staffer said, it is an experience "you will not forget." If you are there during the summer, request to sit outside. Oustau is also in a great location in terms of being very close to Les Baux as well as a comfortable driving distance from a number of small towns. While the rooms are pricey, I think it is worth it given the beauty of the property and the natural beauty of the surrounding area.
Review 46:I didnt like the way we left the hotel. Nobody even asked about how was our stay and, nobody say - we would be happy to see you againg among our guests!
Review 47:I liked everything. Its beautiful
Review 48:Imbalance between excellence of restaurant and hotel facilities. Regretvery expensive 3-night stay. 1 night would have sufficed to enjoyrestaurant with more user friendly accommodation in the region. Dangerif owner cannot make eye contact with guests - too, too grand. Theguests keep you going Monsieur!m
Review 49:Elegant setting. Fantastic food.
Review 50:The room was very average especially for the price. It lacked style and even though it had been recently painted (which was not nice to breathe) the rest of the room especially bathroom appeared tired. Disappointing felt we were paying for the name.
Review 51:The restaurant was great, extensive wine selection, great service at dinner.
Review 52:The bed had some issues. No hand towels (one day only) Very noisy. Could not sleep because doors were banging, could hear people talking, vaccum cleaner going before 9:00am. The breakfast, at 26 euros per person, was disappointing - coffee was not good. At a restaurant with such a stellar reputation, I would expect to get excellent espresso.
Review 53:Pool Grounds/gardens Very nice room Great views Great attention to design General ambience was superb
Review 54:We stayed 3 nights and the first night was very upsetting as we were putin another building several kilometers down the road. We were extremelysurprised by this as the second facility was not close to Relaisstandards. ( we have stayed in at least 40 across the world) We had toget in our car to drive back to the hotel for dinner. The 2nd and 3rdnight we were able to get a room in the main hotel. This property isonly works if you can stay in the main building, then it is lovely.
Review 55:The main hotel, facilities and staff was stellar. This property was in abeautiful setting and the hotel itself was an eclectic mix of impeccableperiod and contemporary pieces. Lovely staff and excellent 5 starrestaurant although prices for dinner were extremely high.
Review 56:Le Manoir is 900 meters from reception. We weren't given a map forhow to get to town and there was no one to ask. We were directed to aneighboring hotel for answers. We got locked in the parking lot and hada bit of a walk to talk to someone about opening it. I guess we sort offelt abandoned but it was a lovely place.
Review 57:We had a suite in Le Manoir and it was lovely.
Review 58:Beautiful location, comfortable accommodation, wonderful restaurant
Review 59:Very attentive and friendly staff, excellent food.
Review 60:Everything was excellent.
Review 61:We were not put in the main hotel but in a family villa in the village completely alone had to take the car to go to Rest and the rest

Review 70:It was a fantastic experience. The staff was very friendly and the food in the restaurant to die for.
Review 71:The hotel breakfast (room service) was a bit spendy for what youreceived.
Review 72:Fabulous decor and design and beautiful location.
