Reviews for Gué De Beauvoir
Review 1:It didn't bother me but guests should've aware that this hotel is quirky which some might interpret as basic eg. Home made furniture. Also the Windows need thicker curtains as at night when light on you can see straight through the net ones. There are shutters but they plunge the room into utter darkness.
Review 2:Proximity to Mont St Michel. Cycling on loaned bikes very enjoyable.
Review 3:We got welcomed very nicely by Guy, the owner, who also showed the best way to enjoy Mont Saint-Michel. The room, a little house in the garden, was very nice and clean.
Review 4:Asked for a room with 2 beds. room equipped with 3 beds. two people in the room, used two beds. owner tried to charge for the extra bed saying that it was extra to use the beds??????? reasoning was that the twin bed was counted as two beds. using the two single beds that were in the room was extra.
Review 5:The 'free' internet isn't even worth that much. My connection timed out every 10 minutes requiring a new logon. This needs to be fixed !
Review 6:Our room was generous in size but had some quirky features but that is to be expected in a property that was older.
Review 7:The room was hot with little ventilation, however there was a floor standing fan provided.
Review 8:Lovely garden for the children to play. Provided a room that would accommodate a family of 5.
Review 9:Wifi only worked in the main building-- not in the individual huts.
Review 10:They had a lot of bicycles available for very cheap rental, and they are located along a scenic bicycle/pedestrian path which runs to the base of le Mont-St-Michel. Family-run operation with friendly family members. Family-friendly atmosphere.
Review 11:Great hosts who were very welcoming. They spoke really good English so there was no misunderstandings. It was a great little place to stay over night on our way to Cherbourg. Great views to mont St Michel and not far to walk to the free bus to go site seeing.
Review 12:My husband and I felt our beds were too hard, but my daughter said hers was fine. The Wi-Fi was very erratic. There was no cheese or ham with breakfast.
Review 13:Location - it is very close to Mount Saint-Michel, in nice grounds with a flat walking trail along the canal to the Mount. There's a nice restaurant across the road. The owner and his family were very friendly. The bread, croissants, jam and fresh fruit fair breakfast were very good.
Review 14:Zero wifi ... Or to be specific, if you stay in an out building, you have access - with difficulty - while eating breakfast.
Review 15:Bikes a plenty; located near lots of restaurants in Beauvior and easy walk/bike to Mont Saint Michel.
Review 16:Very strange decor - on a budget but not budget price for staying there.
Review 17:Beautiful location. Nice bike ride to Mont St. Michel on bikes provided by hotel (be warned though - they are extremely dated)
Review 18:Party out doors opposite side of the road with live band / drum kit until 12.30am . We do not know if this happens often- we stayed 1 night and could feel the floor vibrating in the hut outside in the grounds where we stayed. Fan (provided by hotel) did help to mask the sound a bit. We were also one of the huts furthest away from the cafe bar on the opposite side of the road. Huts look a little home built and don't look completely finished inside.( But were comfortable).
Review 19:Great location. Bikes available ( we didnt use them- but great for cycling along cycle path to Mt St Michel). Also a fabulous walk along the canal directly from the hotel. Staff pleasant and helpful. Garden hut/room clean and practical with shower and toliet all looked new. A practical option for a night very close to an a really memorable land mark.
Review 20:Definitely looked better in the pictures. The rooms were comfortable, but not in good repair or particularly secure. Room curtains were not effective at keeping out light.
Review 21:The grass roofed cabins were certainly unique, but not quite as good as they appeared in the pictures. Staff was very accommodating of our late arrival. Breakfast room and meal were great
Review 22:No bed linens or bath towels included. They were offered for an additional fee but i dont think most people pack these in there checked luggage? Just charge more per night and include them. Also a strong smell from the septic system just outside the masterbedroom window.
Review 23:Beautiful home. Good value. Great location
Review 24:everything was great
Review 25:we absolutely loved little cottages where we slept, lot of toys everywhere for our child, very nice garden with plenty of interesting flowers to observe.
Review 26:Only restaurant room could use wifi. レストランエリアでしかwifiが使えなかった。
Review 27:staff was very kind. room and site is large and beautiful green garden. スタッフはとても親切。 部屋も敷地も広く、緑が美しく、のんびり過ごすには最適。
Review 28:Lovely setting backing on to the river which has a pathway leading to the shuttle bus or on to Mont St Michel itself. Helpful staff who speak English. Bus stop for Pontorson is not far away.
Review 29:See-through curtains next to the bike track...no WiFi in our room, so we had to go to the garden or breakfast area.
Review 30:Proximity to the walking and bike track to Mont St Michel, staff very accommodating when we decided we would have breakfast next morning. Also enjoyed beer garden.
Review 31:Our bed was very hard and uncomfortable. Comfortable beds are very important for a good night's rest.
Review 32:Location was superb, staff very helpful and nice. We enjoyed the breakfast.
Review 33:Expensive relative to facilities. The window on the riverside didn't open. The young man tried, but it still wouldn't open. The shower holder was broken. Again the young guy came to put it right. Breakfast was basic.
Review 34:Location. The young man who met us as we arrived was polite and very helpful.
Review 35:Proximity with the Mont Saint Michel, good location with several restaurants and pastries in walking distance. Parking place right next to the bungallow or at entrance.
Review 36:The feel of this place is very "Earth Friendly" and "People Friendly." The individual rooms/huts are simple but have all of the right amenities. The use of their bikes to ride to Mont St. Michel was terrific and a great memory for our trip. The staff also recommended a great restaurant across the street with artisinal local cuisine.
Review 37:The distance between to mont st michel is a bit far and it takes quite some time to get to the bus stop. Wifi is only available in the reception area.
Review 38:The environment is pretty nice and the rooms themselves are very unique. Everything is in good condition. Staff are very friendly.
Review 39:Far from bus station and no clear instruction to guide how to go from bus station, this make people worry
Review 40:Staff was nice and provide lots of information if you ask, he recommend us a really nice restaurant and make our trip feel much better
Review 41:No big deal - the bikes they provide have seats as hard as bricks!
Review 42:Great location 2 1/2 miles from the Mont, right on a paved path that follows the canal to Mt St Michel. Family-run, lovely staff, comfortable room, simple, tasty breakfast. The proprietor's grandfather was head of security on Mt St Michel over 100 years ago.
Review 43:Plumbing was a little noisy when other guests shower above, but that could have been just our room and it was only a minor bother!
Review 44:Stayed here 2 nights while visiting Mont St Michel, great location and very accommodating hosts. If you are into luxury hotels, look on, but this place was fun, comfortable, and very convenient to the Mont. We took advantage of their offer of free bikes and had a lovely ride to Le Mont, then went back in the evening for dinner and to watch the tides. Highly recommend for adventurous and low maintenance travellers!
Review 45:Internet/ wifi almost non-existent. Works only in the lobby and isvery weak, kicks off all the time, ridiculous process to login back in."Free" bicycles are complete junk. Town is very quiet with really only one decent restaraunt.
Review 46:Room was fine, clean. Staff was nice, shower was adequate. Location toMt. St. Michele is good (3 miles?).
Review 47:wifi barely reached our room in the outhouse and then was turned off totally at night. it is actually a posted policy that wifi is only available 0800-2200 or something like that. i guess they turn the router off at night? not sure i understand that policy as after a long day on the mont the night time is when people would want to use the wifi to catch up on things or look into the following days schedule.
Review 48:through our experiences here we really felt like we owned the mont, which is probably why you are coming to this location in the first place. instead of paying double/triple to stay on the mont itself, you can stay here at a very reasonable rate. for a 10 euro deposit (which you get back at the end) you can borrow some bikes.. not the best bikes in the world but serviceable.. and you can bike right up to the front door of the mont. watch and laugh at the suckers taking 3 times as long to walk.. watch and laugh at the suckers waiting for shuttle busses. do you want to spend your time getting there or your time exploring inside/around the mont? we literally rode our borrowed bikes right to the front door of the mont, tied the bikes up and were inside the mont in 20-25 mins. plus the view riding up is just amazing. as for the services at the actual gue de beauvior, the staff was very nice and accommodating. there is a lot of charm and character to the space. the "silence" signs in the common area of the outhouse were pretty funny. wish we could have had more time here, maybe tried some food or one of the other units, but again we were here for the mont and spent as much time as we could there
Review 49:I missed something on the website- I thought we would be in a little cabin, but that's for parties of 4+. Our family of 3 was in a room in the main building. It wasn't an issue and we were very pleased with the room.
Review 50:The close proximity to Mont St Michel, bicycle availability and friendly hosts are wonderful! The room for our family of 3 wasn't spacious, but it was well organized and equipped to be all we need. The custom artwork and creative carpentry was fun. We needed to leave before breakfast was served one morning, and were thrilled to find the bakery across the street. We would happily return!
Review 51:Hotel located near the river, which leads to Mont Saint-Michel, so you can see it right from hotel premises. Hotel offers bicycles (for free) and you can take them for a trip to the Mont. Very friendly English-speaking staff.
Review 52:The house is beautiful and very convenient located if you want to visit mont saint michel. The owners are very nice and gave us a lot of suggestions on the visit of the Mont itself and the rest of the travel. Breackfast is also very good.
Review 53:Don't have any real negatives. It fulfilled our needs of this stay.
Review 54:The host was warm and welcoming. He gave us advice on how best to visit Mont St. Michel. This is a more laid back place to stay with cabin-like bungalows. Not a place to stay if you are looking for luxury. But the beds are comfortable, the bungalows clean, the price reasonable, and we felt very welcomed. There is wifi in the main hotel.
Review 55:Unusual Eco-style hotel with excellent location, family-friendly outdoor play space and friendly, accommodating staff. We all slept great and the kids loved it! Definitely recommended
Review 56:This is one of the few hotels / B&Bs that we found that catered for a family of 5. The outside hut/room with ensuite bathroom was comfortable (good beds and decent shower) and quiet (despite proximity to main road). Great place for an overnight stay with several restaurants and a boulangerie nearby. Beautiful walk / cycle to Le Mont-Saint-Michel along the river just behind the acommodation.
Review 57:Once you embrace the eccentricity there's not much to complain about. Would be nice to have kettle tea/coffee in the room.
Review 58:Bit whacky but owner extremely friendly and I'm guessing a fan of building with wood and salvaging stuff. Room/hut very clean and comfortable. Has lots of bicycles for guests to use for free, quick 2km picturesque ride right up to the Mont, so no need to pay high parking fees and squeeze on to the shuttle bus.
Review 59:All ok really.
Review 60:Room adequate. Bit quirky , but clean comfy bed and owners very friendly. Good breakfast at 8 euros. 2 mile walk to mont st michel or borrow bikes from hotel. Save 12 euro parkin feeat st michel by leavin car at hotel.....hotel good stop over.
Review 61:Nothing
Review 62:Cute, private bungalows that were quiet at night and very close to Mont Saint Michel. The breakfast was fantastic - hot, fresh pastries and bread, wonderful coffee and fruit from their own garden.
Review 63:Just have to be careful not to bang your head on the roof of the cabin as it is curved!
Review 64:Great for families. Newly refurbished cabins were comfortable and clean, yet fun and a bit quirky with grass on top. Lovely gardens with many different fruit trees - kids loved exploring it, trying to find the elusive cat. Staff were very helpful. Interesting to find out the hotel has been in the family for 3 generations. Free bikes were very handy to get to the amazing mont but also the working windmill not too far away which was an interesting visit for us. Hotel is near to shops. We happened to arrive on the day of the town's annual garage sale - an interesting chance to see French life on public display!
Review 65:* Nicely arranged near an charming old villa * Close to MStM even in walking distance * Free bikes * Friendly staff * Good restaurant across the street (seafood!)
Review 66:3star hotel is more hostel than hotel. For such price the services in other hotels were on much higher level. In 7 day trip in 3 stars hotel this was the worst one.
Review 67:Some traffic noise from the road; our cabin was adjacent to the wall.
Review 68:Our family of four enjoyed our stay in this cozy single-room cottage; two big beds and a table with four chairs worked fine for us. Our kids loved playing on the grounds, which had spacious grassy areas and toys! Just a few steps to the river and a playground with a view of the Mont; the free shuttle to the Mont is an easy ten-minute walk. Excellent bread for breakfast, friendly host, good restaurants nearby.
Review 69:Rooms and décor really need a refresh. No tea/coffee/TV etc in the rooms.
Review 70:quirky hotel. location great for a visit to Mont St Michel. A < 2 mile straight walk right to the island avoids a 13 euro car parking cost! Shower & separate loo were clean and new. cheap and cheerful Breakfast was ok for 8 euros.
Review 71:Noise from bar across the road, unfortunately we stayed on a Saturday night but it made it impossible to get the kids to sleep. Not the fault of the owners but an inconvenience for us
Review 72:Price, location, relaxed surroundings, cleanliness, bright and airy room.
Review 73:Had to go to main building for WiFi but not a big deal. Nosupermarket in town.
Review 74:Location - proximity to Mt. St. Michel Lots of room to lock up bikes.Individual cabins with lots of room for family of five.
Review 75:The cabins were a bit rustic and lacked coffee and tea making facilities.
Review 76:This was one of the few locations that could accommodate 4 people. The owner lends out bikes so you can bike to Mont St. Michel. He gave good advice regarding the best times to your the site. Cat was very friendly too!
Review 77:Wifi.
Review 78:Staffs are re-ally friendly, and breakfast was awesome. Fruits, juice, delicious bread, coffee!! There are free bycicles, so we could look around mont saint michel comfortably.
Review 79:The bikes you provide could be much better You can provide more information to provide customers regarding the method and location to head to the hotel.
Review 80:Your hospitality was fantastic
Review 81:The hotel was absolutely charming. There was a walking/biking trail in the back, a beautiful view of Mont St. Michel, and wonderful restaurants just across the street. The proprietor was just as charming as the hotel.
Review 82:I LOVED this Gue De Beauvoir! It was exactly what we were looking for. We wanted a quiet simple place to stay for a few days in the country to visit Mont St. Michel. We did not want to camp but we did not want TV and we wanted a chance to meet other travelers. This place was perfect for families with kids. the little cottages were very clean comfortable and modern, and the bathrooms were newer and roomy. The bike rentals made it a lot of fun for the kids to ride to Mont St. Michel and we also walked there a couple of times. The hosts were kind, spoke English and were very helpful. I met some other nice people since we all had breakfast in the same common room, and lot of people sat out at little tables in the evening. Great experience!
Review 83:Great location. Bit disappointed with a room not overlooking the sea but we did book last minute. The hotel was clean and friendly and they were happy to accommodate our bikes too.
Review 84:The towels were very small; The were no shower, just a handheld shower and a bathtub.
Review 85:Great location; Kind Staff; Beautiful Place; The breakfast was very good.
