Reviews for Le Fabian des Baux

Review 1:In comparison with the size of the bedroom and bathroom, the toilets are a little bit congested, cannot seat on them without keeping the door of the shower open ... Breakfast OK, especially for the price, but nothing really luxurious.

Review 2:Very spacious bedroom, friendly staff, nice little patio very helpful in an often windy area.

Review 3:Disappointed by the hotel, was expecting a place more typical according to the pictures on your site. Too plastic for me.

Review 4:The young person at the reception, so helpful and kind with us

Review 5:Avoid rooms downstairs as noise carries from the courtyard where people are eating!

Review 6:Beautiful courtyard where meals were eaten, good parking and swimming pool. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 7:1) A little effort on the cleaning would make a big difference (we have founds hunts in the bathroom and close to the bedroom). I understand we are on the countryside but I have not appreciated the surprise. 2) Towels old and to be requested even if the room was already re-ordered. 3) Breakfast served inside only in case of rain. 4) Drinks served in the Hall but you need to go to ask them elsewhere even if the Bar list is exposed on all small tables in the Hall 5) Re-painting is required

Review 8:Location Swimming Pool Towel provided for the Swimming Pool Nice Patio

Review 9:The room a bit small for 2 adults and 2 kids, but ok for 2 nights. Small bathroom, WC very close to the shower.

Review 10:Very nice swimming pool. Very nice breakfast and nice menu in the evening. Good location close to Les Baux de Provence, St Remy de Provence, Arles and Avignon

Review 11:The floor tiles of the shower were very shabby with mould in the grout. The rest of the bathroom was spotless but I didn't feel comfortable standing on these tiles. Also our terrace opened out onto a courtyard but this courtyard is used by the restaurant for dinner and breakfast so it felt more like a public terrace than a private one. You had to enter the swimming pool through reception which more or less meant that you had to get dressed before exiting the pool area.

Review 12:It really was lovely, the room large and cool, the swimming pool fantastic in such a hot summer, the breakfast in the courtyard lovely and the staff (especially the young man behind the desk when we arrived and at breakfast the next day) most welcomiong and friendly.

Review 13:Pool not in use. Too cold apparently.

Review 14:The hotel is very rustic with charm and a quality feel. No complaints at all. local village is 15 mins away along a busy road but well worth the walk with bars restaurants and a fabulous square with cafes to "watch the world go by". Not a location for more than a couple of days but a treat either way.

Review 15:We did not like the fact that our room was accessed by going down a darkish corridor and the room itself was very dark. There was a patio but it abutted the road and was noisy. More windows needed. They also had designed the bathroom so that when using the loo, your knees abutted the shower - not an attractive feature and it could have been designed much more attractively.

Review 16:We liked the lobby which was quirky and welcoming. We also liked the breakfast - a buffet - where (if the day was warm) you could help yourself and sit out in their very attractive courtyard.

Review 17:late arriving without anything to eat. wifi was only in lobby. difficult to find even with GPS. got a very good guy to lead us to the place. will not book that again

Review 18:parking

Review 19:Breakfast - a little basic. Would have been nice to have a spread of Provence.

Review 20:Staff were pleasant and attentive. The quiet - its a beautiful location.

Review 21:Too close to the road that what just next to our outdoor area at our hotelroom. The restaurant didn't give value for money and the dishes were a bit boring.

Review 22:Nice room ans close to many things we wanted to visit in Provence.

Review 23:A bit pricey but everywhere in this area is pricey.

Review 24:Surrounded by olive trees. The crickets chirp all day long. Staff incredibly helpful and friendly all spoke English. Wifi excellent. 5 mins drive to mausonne. Excellent stay

Review 25:Smoking in restaurant in what should have been a lovely open air dining space.

Review 26:Staff very knowledgeable and helpful restaurant was good. excellent pool

Review 27:Wifi in the room really didn't work - we needed to resort to the reception area.

Review 28:We had one "room" for our family (2 preteen daughters in single beds), and it was actually huge, with a separate room for mum and dad. A large private veranda area. The pool was a treat. The location was great for exploring Provence and the gem - the Castle at Les Baux.

Review 29:A bit pricey, but it was during busy high season! Private terrace nice but overlooking fence and wilderness, not worth the extra money. No eggs at breakfast but very nice and abundant pastries, coffee, fruit etc

Review 30:Superb location, a real "away from the crowds" feeling in peaceful Provence setting. Good, spacious room with good bathroom. Good, well organised breakfast. Ideal for a short stay while visiting this great part of Southern France. Locked car park. Friendly staff.

Review 31:Facilities getting tired. Could have done more for the breakfast. Had our two dinners there and was good value for the money.

Review 32:Nice pool and good location relative to Baux-de-Provence.

Review 33:*Price is relatively high *Internet was useless in our room, but worked well in the reception area (this seems to be normal for most hotels in France, even good ones like this hotel).

Review 34:*Very nice property close to the village (not walking distance but everybody has a car anyway). *Friendly staff, good restaurant. *Splendid rooms large and beautifully furnished *I would definitely stay here again if I return.

Review 35:The hotel is a bit "spartan"-it lacks "Provençal" charm. The bathrooms are small-the WC is right up against the shower. The double beds are narrow and 'built in'. The central courtyard, which could/should be the charming heart of the hotel is utilitarian. The hotel would benefit from some 'style' advice.

Review 36:The food is excellent.

Review 37:Pleasant ambiance. Helpful, friendly staff.

Review 38:The room fixtures are old and of average quality, and the bed was comfy but small.

Review 39:Very friendly staff. A nice swimming pool area.

Review 40:Clean, simple hotel. Everything you need. Not luxurious.

Review 41:Terrasse chambre Grande chambre Salle de bains Piscine

Review 42:We couldn't find it according to address on website,

Review 43:Location, bathroom had separate shower and tub with double sinks, terrace was gorgeous. Ample parking. Nice breakfast selection.

Review 44:Hard bed but that is personal

Review 45:Large room and good location for visiting the neigherhood ! Good terras and nice pool

Review 46:The hotel is a little outdated

Review 47:Beatiful cortyard

Review 48:The person on the desk was a sour puss. The garden area was unkept.

Review 49:The room was comfortable.

Review 50:Hotel restaurant slighly too expensive for the quality

Review 51:Very good location to move around Not heated swiming pool is fine. Space in the room

Review 52:Short drive from Les Baux. Ask for room away from road, otherwise good overall

Review 53:Extremely courteous reception, large comfortable room, great location for visiting Les Baux de Provence

Review 54:For lovely dinners we drove to St. Remy 7km away. Looks like some options are in walking distance but not 'next door' to the hotel. Wifi worked well but was a code system that meant it expired every 24 hours and we then got new ones issued. 1 code per device but they issued us as many as we needed and at no cost. Don't assume you can eat in the hotel, it is a restaurant and it can book out. The food looks good and if you do want to eat there it is wise to advise reception. no comment on the pool - still not warm enough when we stayed.

Review 55:We planned 2 families of four to meet here for a weekend. It worked out very well with easy location to drive to, parking on site and good sized rooms. Our room was clean and bathroom modern. The staff were friendly and helpful with recommendations. We had the breakfast at the hotel one morning which was a nice selection. The next 2 mornings we went to 'Café de la Fontaine' (1.6km away) and had a simple breakfast with a bunch of locals (baguette, jam, butter, coffee and juice - seemed to be about EUR5 per person) - hotel breakfasts are very good and the cheeses there are so yummy. We liked to mix it up.

Review 56:The setting, the beds, the service and the recommendation on anexcellent restaurant, Fleur de Thym in Maussane les Alpilles, 10 minfrom the hotel by car, as the restaurant in the hotel was closed forthe season

Review 57:After arriving around 4pm we were told we did not have to book for dinner. We visited Les Baux and on return Went to book a table for dinner. No one on the reception desk, and two of us waited several minutes until I enquired to a waiter if anyone was available for reception. He came out himself and told me they were fully booked. I objected that as a resident we could not get a meal in the hotel. We were not offered room service and a young woman came out and was quite rude, telling us that everyone knows you have to book a table and we could go up the road to other restaurants. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone due to the complete lack of customer service or care.

Review 58:accessibility. Proximity to Les Baux. Initial greeting. Pretty room. Good swimming pool.

Review 59:We had no complaints!

Review 60:The room and bathroom were very spacious, nice, and comfortable. Thepool facilities were also nice. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We had a great experience with the restaurant for dinner. It was an all-around positive experience!

Review 61:Half board at 36 euros reasonable value for one night but better valuefood in local village only 3 minutes away by car.

Review 62:Very comfortable and clean rooms. Quiet and clean swimming pool.Reception staff on arrival very helpful. Great location for exploringsurrounding area of Provence Good value for money.

Review 63:One of rooms booked had the most unpleasant stench of cats. Receptionist unwilling initially to offer us an alternative room at the same price. We had some very awkward exchanges with her. To be honest we would have left if she hadn't, very reluctantly, agreed as you would not have wanted to spend any time at all there. It was awful. Not impressed with her manner at all. Luckily there was a different receptionist the following day so we didn't have to deal with her again.

Review 64:Swimming pool.

Review 65:Nothing to dislike.

Review 66:Everything was perfect. The pool is not to be missed. It's really relaxing. Location around the olive producers and wineries is very nice. Close to a small village which is really cute.

Review 67:Somewhat awful decor. Lamps for instance. Wifi only worked for one person in the room. Breakfast not up to the standard of the food but OK. Horrible youghurt though and no eggs.

Review 68:Beautiful surroundings. Kind and helpful staff. Room OK with enough space. Nice patio for dining and breakfast. Good food.

Review 69:We don't have any complain.

Review 70:The staff was very helpful. Very good cooking. Very nice swimingpool. And a perfect location for travelling around Provence.

Review 71:Restaurant was not open for dinner when we were there.

Review 72:The setting, although close to the road, we did not hear the sounds at night and it was very nice. The courtyard was perfect for breakfast. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We would recommend to friends and family.

Review 73:Sadly our beds were foam mattresses and quite uncomfortable. This was surprising given the tariff.

Review 74:The staff were helpful and the pool was great on a hot day. The neighbouring towns were lovely.

Review 75:Rooms were adequate inside but with great garden terrace. Staff friendly but not exceedingly helpful re local amenities.

Review 76:Conveniently located. Nice restaurant for dinner. Relaxing atmosphere with pool and garden terrace

Review 77:Excellent service. Good rooms. Very clean. Nice facilities. Very close to Les Baux village. Hotel surrounded by nice fields of Olive Trees. Excellent food at in house restaurant (limited menu options).

Review 78:Having to climb one staircase to the second floor with pram, baby and baggage (I hoped we'd get a ground floor room of which there are ten)

Review 79:Breakfast, the owner's warmth on Sunday morning, the cot and blankets for the baby, the spacious room

Review 80:Staff were very helpful, and our room was nicely presented. There was plenty of room to relax and the facilities looked extensive. The restaurant was not open the night we stayed, but there was a good range in the town about two kilometres away.

Review 81:The weather didn't allow us to use the delightful courtyard for drinks and snacks. We'll have to come back when it improves :-)).

Review 82:The staff was lovely, helpful, and caring- the room very pleasant with pretty decor - and the food for dinner was extremely good.

Review 83:About the only recommendation I have for improvement is to 'mix itup' on the breakfast buffet. The food was good, but we stayed threenights and each morning was the same. I found myself really wanting anegg. I should add that the coffee was great.

Review 84:Staff were friendly and capable. The facility is well maintained andclean. Bathroom was modern (loved the shower). We were there to enjoyLes Baux and the surroundings. Did some shopping and dining in nearbyvillages - Mausanne, Fontivielle - and enjoyed them very much. We foundthis hotel a wonderful base from which to walk the area. We hiked thelocal hills, olive groves, and vineyards.

Review 85:Breakfast was a little light, but there was a bus trip in and it may have been a simple miss calculation of food required. Staff did their best to address the issue.

Review 86:Reception was excellent and included a guided orientation to hotel and explanation of room services. Location is excellent for visit to Baux en Provence.

Review 87:No problems or concerns.

Review 88:Very relaxing setting on the road between Mausanne and St Remy de Provence. Large well-appointed rooms. When we had problems with the air conditioner icing up, the staff immediately moved us to an upgraded room at no extra change. We had a very nice patio that backed up to an olive grove. We made reservations for dinner for the initial night. While there were only several choices for the 3 course dinner, the experience and service were outstanding. We decided to eat there again the second night and were not disappointed. The staff and ambiance were first rate. Excellent value. We would recommend Fabian des Baux to friends and would stay there again. Large protected parking lot.

Review 89:Everything! The pictures do not do it justice! The staff were the best part; very willing to please us and go out of their way for any needs we had. It was nice and quiet, and the rooms were spacious. The patio was also a delightful addition. The location is perfect for a quiet getaway, yet close to great tourist attractions and San I would recommend it very highly!

Review 90:Not a big deal but there is no lift so bringing the suitcases up thefirst day was good exercise.

Review 91:Le Fabian des Baux in Les Baux de Provence is a delightful small hotellocated within five minutes of two town-- St Remy and Maussane LesAlpilles. We booked this hotel based on reviews on Bookings.com andcould not have been more pleased with the results. At the time we stayedthere in June there were only “triple” rooms available. Consequently, our room was on the second floor and had a private balcony with abeautiful view of the Provence hills and olive trees. It was furnishedwith a queen bed and another single bed, hence the triple designation. The price for the triple was well worth it as it provided more space andprivacy than the first floor rooms. The hotel is located on D5 and had plenty of free accessible parking. We were pleased not to be in crowded St Remy. The room itself was lovely, clean and spacious by European standards. The bed and lines were impeccable and the décor equal to a 5 star hotel but at 3 star reasonable prices. The bathroom had a large tub and great shower. A new flat screen TV was housed in a tasteful wood cabinet. A leather bucket chair provided the comfort one would find in a suite. All the comments about the owners and staff are confirmed here. They could not have been more helpful and gracious. Anything we asked for was provided immediately and they even welcomed my poor command of French, though three female staff members speak very good English. There is a very good and reasonable restaurant on the premises with a picturesque patio. We chose the breakfast option each morning at 11 Euro and were pleased to sit and linger on the patio with coffee, croissants, cheese and many other options. The pool sparkles and is well cared for. We swam in it each day and early in the afternoon had the pool all to ourselves. I would stay here again in a second. This is a little gem not to be missed if you are exploring the towns in the Provence area.

Review 92:It was rather spartan. In addition, the dining room was closed for dinner, as mentioned above. While we did have a terrace with a view if an orchard, there was a tall wire fence between the terrace and the orchard-- rather off-putting.

Review 93:The people who greeted us and helped us at the front desk were friendly and listened well when we told them we had a problem. We were on our honeymoon and found Fabian les Baux not as "upscale" as we would have liked for this special trip. Moreover, the dining hall was not open yet for the season-- disappointing, as we do not enjoy driving around in an unfamiliar area after dinner, especially after having a glass of wine. We had planned to stay three nights, but upon learning of the dining problem we decided to find something else in the area for our second and third nights. The management was very understanding and ultimately credited us for those two nights.

Review 94:No restaurant facilities.

Review 95:Lovely staff, very nice clean room. A perfect base for exploring the area. My mother and I had an enjoyable stay at Le Fabian des Baux. I would definitely stay again.

Review 96:The brakfast is too expensive, but that´s common by now in all hoteloutside Italy.

Review 97:Courtesy of the staff, a big bathroom, in the middle of Provence so verygood to travel around. There was also a nice pool but the weather wasnot for it.

Review 98:The restaurant was closed though it was said in the site that it had a restaurant.

Review 99:Friendly staff, beautifully decorated room, well equipped bathroom, a nice pool area, secluded parking,

Review 100:Is not located in Baux de Provence (as it says on booking.com) is out ofle Baux de Provence in a nother village called Maussane. We wanted tostay at le Baux de Provence and we were deceived by the fact that thehotel indicates a wrong location. Due to the fact that on the booking ofthe hotel it was written a worng location we got lost. We phoned thehotel and they were not even able to explain us the way to go to thehotel. They were totally useless. We had to phone them 4 times spendinga fortune in phonecalls as we had to make long distance calls. Theservice is terrible. The breakfast is mediocre.

Review 101:Is in the nature and it has a nice courtyard

Review 102:Only stairs, but owner helped. So all good!

Review 103:Quiet location, very to get in and out to the road.

Review 104:Perfect location, excellent design room, home made jams and croissants at breakfast)

Review 105:Location near Les Baux

Review 106:The quiet atmosphere was just what we needed after being in the crowded tourist attractions! The breakfast was great and the staff very helpful.

Review 107:no shower curtain / bath tub leading to water overflowing out into the bedroom

Review 108:clean rooms, comfortable bed, excellent location by car,

Review 109:Smelly hallways. Dull look and feel of place. Price didn't live up to expectations.

Review 110:The pool, because it was hot.

Review 111:the restaurant menu was surprising - breakfast good as well

Review 112:the rooms and location

Review 113:The room doesn't have shower, only a bathtube. The breakfest is notgood.

Review 114:Awesome hotel and staff. Close to many small villages. will recommend to friends!!!

Review 115:The write-up on the hotel was misleading and there was no restaurant open and a very limited bar.

Review 116:The staff were friendly
