Reviews for Le Colombier
Review 1:The bedroom and bathroom were a little small, though it was adequate.
Review 2:Great location. A clean, neat room with a good bathroom, having a shower. ( rather than climbing over a bathtub) A balcony with a nice view. A friendly and helpful host ,who served a comprehensive and very fresh breakfast.
Review 3:Very helpful staff, great breakfast, lovely outdoor seating area for having a drink in the afternoon. 5-10 minutes walk from the centre of Moustiers-Sainte-Marie.
Review 4:Security was great, relaxing atmosphere. Very short drive into the center of town (or could be walked with a minimum of effort). Our host put us into a fabulous restaurant in town.
Review 5:Shower had nowhere to hang the handheld piece, a bit awkward. I always forget that European hotels do not have face cloths. Wish they did.
Review 6:Location, helpful staff,cleanliness
Review 7:The owners went out of their way to make their guests feel at home and they provided lots of free information and ideas about sightseeing and recommended restaurants.
Review 8:Nothing
Review 9:Nice place about 10 minutes walking to the village centre, the room is really clean, I loved the breakfasts, the People are very sweet and preventing. Recommandations for the perfect vacation
Review 10:The Internet connection - we had to stay connecting each time we used our phone and putting in user name and password. Also there was no fridge in the room.
Review 11:Beautiful location. Very friendly staff. Very nice hotel. We really enjoyed it at le colombier. Nice pool and jacuzzi area.
Review 12:A few Wi-Fi problems in some areas of the hotel but not a huge problem.
Review 13:Very friendly, helpful staff, couldn't do enough for you including making reservations for restaurants and activities. Excellent location, 10 min walk from Moustiers where it would be very difficult to park.
Review 14:Didn't spend enough time there!
Review 15:Everything! The room was spacious for France and clean. I loved the breakfasts on the patio! What a view, sound of birds chirping, huge croissants, great food. Within walking distance of beautiful village.
Review 16:I really disliked the so-called antique cutsy trinkets cluttering the reception such as old sewing machines etc. Nice pool area but almost impossible to open gate to get to the very tiny pool. Balconies were small, hot and without views; just overlooked the parking lot.
Review 17:Beautiful terrace with overhanging trees for afternoon drinking and for breakfast. Location very close to center of village. Friendly staff.
Review 18:The family that run the hotel were extremely helpful, giving advice on the best restaurants in moustiers (which are amazing). They could not have done more.
Review 19:Excellent location.... near Verdon river with nice morning walking route. Must try dinner at hotel restaurant. Wi-Fi is a bit slow when 2 connections are made in the same room. Easy parking. Helpful staff. Will book again if visiting same town.
Review 20:The hotel has a hot tub, but water was pretty cool. We had nicer breakfasts at other locations on our trip for same price,
Review 21:Great location to Saints Moustiers Sainte Marie, the hill town. Within easy walking distance from hotel.
Review 22:The hotel is located on the edge of beautiful Moustiers-Ste-Marie, an easy 5-10 min walk into the centre. The hotel is family run and provided a lovely friendly base to enjoy Moustiers and the Gorges du Verdon. The staff were friendly and always helpful. Breakfast on the sunny terrace was a joy. Our room was clean, bed very comfortable and bathroom well equipped. There's a nice pool area to relax in the afternoon
Review 23:The location is great, only 10 minutes walk to the village with restaurants and shops. The poolarea was very nice and we had breakfast on the lovely patio.
Review 24:Helpful, accommodating staff (graciously booked all of our dinner reservations); pleasing terrace, pool/hottub areas; convenient to lovely Moustiers-Ste.-Marie and Gorges du Verdon.
Review 25:I have to checkin on the webpage each time when I use the internet which is really annoying...and the shower room is a bit too small.
Review 26:the terrace is great.
Review 27:There were ants and bugs all over the lovely patio so I couldn't use it, and they came into the room when opening the nice patio door for air. You can't help having bugs in the countryside, but a little ongoing maintenance spraying will take care of it on patios.
Review 28:Nice room and bathroom, wonderful shower. Friendly staff. Location.
Review 29:The breakfast may be a little overpriced, but it's still ok.
Review 30:Really nice place, about 10 minutes walking to the village center, perfect location especially if you travel by car. The room is clean andnot small, we had a little balcony.
Review 31:I had an excellent experience staying at Le Colombier. The staff were friendly, helpful and gave great recommendations for the perfect vacation. The location is well situated close to a lovely town. I would highly recommend anyone to stay here!
Review 32:No complaints
Review 33:The staff were especially welcoming and helpful. The decor and facilities were first class and the pool and hot tub a real bonus. Superb views.
Review 34:Would have been perfect if the hot tubs advertised so liberally on the site would have been open. Was early in the season (Easter) so I of course understand why the swimming pool wasn't open. But it would have been luscious to be in the tub after a long chilly hike.
Review 35:Cute room, nice breakfast. Most appreciated were recommendations for excellent dinners and amazing hikes in the area.
Review 36:Wifi reception was somewhat weak.
Review 37:We were met warmly at reception, shown to our room and provided with advice where to dine and tour. Clean bathroom and free parking.
Review 38:Nothing bad.
Review 39:The hotel was very clean and the owners and staff were all friendly and helpful. It is located just across the road from the town of Moustiers- Sainte-Marie. The town is a beautiful gem right outside of the Canyon du Verdon. There is convenient on-site parking and the breakfast was very good including breads, cheeses, juices and boiled eggs. The rooms also had a decent view from a small patio. Overall, although it was not particularly fancy, this was a very good value for the price and worked well as an overnight before seeing the canyon.
Review 40:A little more furniture would be appreciated in the room, even though it is small. A table with a kettle and cups for making tea please!
Review 41:Friendly, attentive service.
Review 42:Garden-hotel in walking distance from village center (15 minutes) of very high quality. Nice rooms, all with terrace or balcony, modern reasonably sized en-suite facilities(for French standards), good beds. Absolutely quiet and peaceful location. Bar service and breakfast of international standard. Friendly and efficient staff. Parking on-site without extra costs with plenty of space. Very good price-quality ratio. Would definitely stay there again.
Review 43:Very welcoming and knowledgeable staff - helped a lot with recommendations for both the beautiful village and for exploring the spectacular and breathtaking Verdon gorges. Good location, nice and clean room, nice breakfast (continental).
Review 44:This was our 1st visit to Moustiers. It is a special place. The hotel was near enough to the town that we could walk but at night a car was necessary. The staff was friendly and helpful with dinner reservations. We had 2 rooms for 3 people so we had plenty of space.
Review 45:Enjoyed our stay here. The room was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was very good. The staff were very helpful and offered great ideas on how to best utilize our time. Would recommend to others.
Review 46:Whatever they used as an air freshener for the room was too strong for me and I was afraid I'd get into a sneezing fit. But it turned out fine. If you're sensitive to smells, tell them ahead of time. Other than that, no worries or problems at all. I would highly recommend this place.
Review 47:We got in at 7pm and there was no need to visit a TI booth. The owners had maps, ideas and a plan of action ready for helping us with our hike the next day, including calling for and arranging a taxi. Very helpful and convenient. Rooms and bathrooms very clean. Easy parking. Overall a very pleasant stay.
Review 48:While all the rooms have en-suite facilities, the toilet in our room was separate from the shower room.
Review 49:Le Colombier is perfectly located about 10 mins walk (up quite a steep hill) or very short drive from the picturesque village of Moustier St Marie. We had a lovely room with a balcony which overlooked the beautiful countryside and it was still warm enough for us to use the hotel's little pool and sun loungers which are situated on a pretty terrace overlooking the Provencal hills. Staff were excellent, nothing was too much trouble, and they even spent time helping us to plan a day trip to the nearby lakes and gorges.
Review 50:Bed was a little hard, breakfast small but in lovely room or patio, wi-fi spotty at best
Review 51:Location was walking distance to town though easy to drive and park, secured free parking, staff very friendly and accommodating, spotless rooms, updated bathroom, stand-up shower, lovely pool and jacuzzi area, patio, beautiful from view with balcony, english speaking staff available and very helpful.
Review 52:The only very minor comment - I found the room just a little bit simple/standard. Otherwise - perfect place in every respect.
Review 53:Staff very helpful and friendly, wonderful spacious green property, nicely arranged on-site parking - very close yet out of the way, all the facilities to relax or to actively enjoy the outdoors, just outside Moustiers-Ste-Marie - a wonderfully picturesque village perched above a waterfall between two cliffs. It's also a perfect location for discovering the amazing Verdon region.
Review 54:The lack of a refreshment tray in the bedroom-would have liked to have been able to make a drink when I wanted.
Review 55:The friendly and helpful staff.. The clean and comfortable room and the delightful breakfast served on the sunny terrace.
Review 56:We loved Le Colombier. We were very warmly welcomed and the warmth continued throughout our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. When we headed out to a restaurant we were given a torch to take in case the street lights were not sufficient to get us home safely. Our room - in a building separate from the main hotel - was spacious, comfortable and spotless. Easy walking distance to Moustiers and plenty of free parking. Very highly recommended.
Review 57:This is a very special B&B run by two wonderful people who cannot do enough for you. Boo & Matt really do look after you from first greeting you to saying goodbye. The bedrooms are spacious, decorated beautifully and the beds extremely comfy. You are greeted each morning with Boo's huge smile and friendly chatter, what better way to start the day. Matt's breakfasts really are something to write home about. Their is so much choice he will virtually make you whatever you fancy, with his famous roasted tomatoes on the side. The house and grounds are beautiful, plenty of places to sit and unwind. Bostrase is a very special place run by genuinely lovely people from which a lot of the bigger hotels could learn from. I stayed there with my mum and am planning to take my husband later in the year.... Its somewhere you cannot go just once.
Review 58:The hotel manager Cedric was a true delight, nothing was any trouble for him.

Review 99:A short walk from town, but only about 10 minutes to centre
Review 100:Petanque - I love petanque Really freindly and helpful staff Beautiful views Lots of hot tubs
Review 101:Room with balcony terrace a must. Rooms r darker than we like and carpet feels old. Needs new carpet throughout. Pool only open 10am- 7pm. Leaves little time in morning and evening to enjoy.
Review 102:Pool and hot tub great. Rooms quiet except when lawn being mowed at lunch time .
Review 103:It was all good.
Review 104:Excellent location, very peaceful, serene, great views, and very close to the center of town. The hotel has so much to offer, many ammenities, from swimming pools, tennis courts, food, and very helpful, gracious and welcoming staff who went out of their way to welcome us and make us feel at home. This is a charming and very elegant hotel. A must stay when in Moustiers Ste. Marie, and surrounding areas, as well as to explore the Gorge du Verdon. We have already recommended to family and friends. We would stay here again and again. Very much a highlight of our trip in France. The Village itself was also exceptional, one of the most beautiful we have seen. A must see!
Review 105:The staff were unbelievably helpful including washing my clothes when I got covered in wine. We received an upgrade to a room with a sunny terrace for £6 / night.
Review 106:An easy 10-minute walk from the old center of Moustiers, even for one of us with knee problems. Excellent breakfast offerings and service. Comfortable and quiet. The proprietors and staff are the true treasures of the hotel, though. Friendly and welcoming, very helpful, always amiable, never obtrusive, they made our stay a real pleasure.
Review 107:Staff were really helpful and friendly. Breakfast was superb. Recommendations for local eating places were spot on. We had a great stay here in tranquil surroundings, and it was a great stop to do Gorges day tour.
Review 108:I liked this hotel. It is 3 star level but has a couple of nice Jacuzzi's and a small pool. On check-in, they gave me a map and some quick helpful info on where to park to see the town, as well as local restaurants. Folks at the desk were friendly. They have their own parking lot, and because it is just outside of town and a steep climb to the town, I think the hotel is more appropriate for folks who have a car. Room was comfortable, bathroom was fine. I was glad I'd asked for a balcony as it was just nice to look over the beautiful countryside. Moustiers-Ste.- Marie is a truly charming town; also it's a good take off point to see the Gorge du Verdon. I highly recommend both, as well as this very reasonably priced hotel. I also want to give a shout out to a great place to pick up a sandwich in the town of Palud-du-Verdon, near the beginning of the drive around Gorge du Verdon. On the right, at the main intersection in Palud is a place called Joe Le Snacky -- marvelous sandwiches and great desserts as well. We also liked the patisserie/cafe next to '8 a huit,' which is on the left as you take the road into Moustiers.
Review 109:The hotel staff were very nice and helpful with Gorges du Verdon information. We were given a ground floor room with our own car park due to heavy suitcases :-) Our room was nicely decorated and very clean. The breakfasts were absolutely delicious and even had an egg cooker.
Review 110:Perfect hotel! Very friendly, helpful owners & personel. Located perfect for Moustiers Saint Marie which is one of the beautiful villages in France. Room was nice, comfortable, clean and quite big. Super pool and Jacuzzi. Great breakfast. We enjoy stay in it!
