Reviews for Hôtel de Flandre

Review 1:The bathroom door was broken and that meant we had very little space in the bathroom.

Review 2:Great location, with friendly staff and good clean rooms. We just needed a place to stay for the night and it was really good.

Review 3:Staff were delightful and went out of their way to make sure our stay was great. Even gave lots of recommendations for a walk around the palace and park, which we would otherwise have missed.

Review 4:Lighting in the bedroom was poor and there was nowhere to plug in a hairdryer or electronic equipment. The shower, though hot and powerful, was tiny

Review 5:Lovely, friendly staff, excellent location. Rather old-fashioned but very pleasant

Review 6:No tea making but we took our own!

Review 7:Great view from the room. Excellent restaurant next door. Exceptional Vale for money. Wished we would have have more time to explore the local pretty town.

Review 8:Staff were extremely kind and catered to my disabilities without being asked. They were happy to assist me in bringing up hot drinks to my room after I had breakfast they carried it up so I could use my walker safely.

Review 9:The beds need updating. Negative point to the view over the river the traffic noise.

Review 10:Fantastic location, walking distance from town centre, restaurants, we had a nice view over the river. Loved the layout of the family room, a twin room and through the arch to a double room, with ensuite in between. Good Wifi

Review 11:After a very difficult journey the room we were shown to had not been cleaned. There were dirty towels everywhere the place was filthy, the beds unmade The staff immediately moved us to the room next door, but did not seem overly concerned. The room we were given looked over the river but smelled and was not comfortable. The whole hotel looked in need of a radical overhaul. Not a pleasant experience

Review 12:Free wi-fi and secure car parking, although at an additional charge

Review 13:We booked over Booking.com and actually selected another hotel but then came a special cheaper offer for this hotel which we accepted. But when we checked in we found the offer was not based on the information 2 guests which we had entered on the booking form but was only for one guest so 15 euro more. This is a bad trick being played on your site which I will be warning my friends about.

Review 14:The rooms are ok, but need some updates and maintenance. (Although it is noticeable that the hotel started a general renovation) The beds were too soft and I would likely to have a "normal" pillow and quilt.

Review 15:Good location, easy get there by car or walk to city center. Free baby bed in room. We had a three person room and it was very spacious.

Review 16:The decoration is a bit old.

Review 17:The welcoming was appreciable. The hotel is located near the rail station and near the downtown. Wifi was available in my room.

Review 18:morning manager / chef? Breakfast hygiene was non existent. Bread handled by all and everyone. Asked the morning manager come chef for croissants and eggs, she replied that there weren't any croissants and breakfast had finished? This was at 0945 when breakfast should go on to 1030 Saturday. Eggs were knocked up by her in a microwave she then picked up a dirty spoon from a used teabag dish and scooped them in to the egg tray. Enough said.

Review 19:Accommodation, private parking and great night manager

Review 20:The room, and the hotel in general, is a bit old dated. The bathroom was tiny, with a plastic door that cannot be completely shut. Breakfast a bit expensive.

Review 21:Great location, very close to Compiegne city centre and Castle. Room suitable for a family with 2 kids (1 dble bed and 2 single beds). Varied choice for breakfast, in calm room (not a lot of customers...). Parking box available upon request. Decent pricing for the room and car park. Very friendly staff, throughout the different shifts.

Review 22:If you like sleeping with the window open- it is noisey as the hotel is close to a busy junction and the railway line

Review 23:It is well Located not far from the city center. Good internet and a v powerful shower.

Review 24:Was under construction, everywhere painting, or removing wall paper, except for one floor. I got paint on my clothes even though I was careful...and still expensive

Review 25:reception were friendly and gave useful information uppon request

Review 26:The bed was bad. Not a subjective taste-thing, but rather an objective fact. because when 2 people were in the bed, they rolled together to the middle, in a hole.

Review 27:Staff was friendly and the room was ok.

Review 28:The room we were in smelt of cigarettes and we left the windows open and it was noisy outside through the night which disturbed all of us! None of the group in four different rooms slept well as a result.

Review 29:The hotel was very well positioned, rooms clean and tidy and the breakfast was excellent.

Review 30:Noise isolation between rooms - your comfort dépends on your neighbors

Review 31:Very friendly and helpful staff. Good location. Now my standard hotel in Compiègne.

Review 32:It would have been nice to have had coffee & tea making equipment in the room.

Review 33:The hotel was friendly and comfortable. It had easy access to the town and was a god base for exploring both the town and the area around it. The room was spacious and clean and well maintained.

Review 34:An odd 'water' noise in the room every time a neighbour used the water. Disturbing at first but I got used to it and slept fine.

Review 35:Excellent staff and very good, secure bicycle storage. Rooms were comfy and the shower was hot and powerful.

Review 36:Shower turned off if you bumped against it. Shower gel in sachets which were hard to open.

Review 37:Central location, but rooms were quiet. Excellent value breakfast. Friendly staff.

Review 38:Would have liked a kettle for an early morning cup of tea or late nightime drink as I usually don't take breakfast. But that's just my personal choice!

Review 39:Staff were pleasent. Location was fine!

Review 40:The staff did their job well but without any personal input such as a smiling welcome or relating to us. My wife has some disssability and there was little or no help for her in the design or equipment of the hotel, or from the staff. We do not ask for much but basically we were given a key and left to ourselves. Rather cold staff.

Review 41:Simple hotel with no frills or pretentions. Right in town and with private parking.

Review 42:Since we were there in early October, the lack of air conditioning was not a factor. It could be problematic during hotter summer months.

Review 43:Comfortable older hotel on the Oise river and very convenient easy walk across the bridge into town. Wonderful helpful staff. Town is close to ancient Senlis, and chateau Chantilly.

Review 44:Room very basic & shabby. Horrible bathroom with a tiny dim light over basin. Horrible old shower curtain. Paper thin walls meant we could hear every word people in next room said. Really noisy if you have a room at the front as we did but closing windows did reduce this but at the cost of then being baking hot due no air con

Review 45:Lovely reception staff. Great location. Secure parking in our own lockable garage for €7 Don't waste money on breakfast (we didn't) as right opposite is a fantastic boulangerie where we bought coffee, croissants & a baguette for €4

Review 46:Some traffic noise.

Review 47:Great location in the centre of town. View of canal. Large bedroom with separate large bathroom. Lots of light. Very handy for calais

Review 48:The hotel is located next to the river in the City of Compeigne. It is very conveniently located close to the Paris Nord exhibition next to Charles de Gaulle airport.

Review 49:The rooms are quite dated and could benefit from some tlc, pain etc, the addition of quilts would be very welcome as opposed to blankests and sheets. For me personally the bed and pillow was way, way to soft.

Review 50:Very convenient, close to bars, restaurants, buses and taxis and on the bank of the river. The staff were great and the continental breakfast was ok (ish). Would I stay here again? I would but only if nothing else was available.

Review 51:Disappointed that the bar didn't seem to be in use.

Review 52:Managed to accommodate our complicated requirements - three bedrooms (a double, a triple and a quadruple) for two families with a total of five children and one family leaving a day before the other, requiring different room configuration.

Review 53:Ideally placed for touring the area, exploring the town and as a stop over for the Channel. Good facilities, friendly staff, private, secure, parking. Very good restaurant next door. Nice position overlooking the river.

Review 54:1. The location is great. It's about 30 seconds walk from the railway station, and faces the river. 2. The staff were friendly. 3. The facilities were adequate.

Review 55:We arrive when temperatures were mid 30's and the 2 nights stay were a bit uncomfortable as there's no aircon. Rooms were tigh enough in terms of size but adequate.

Review 56:The staff, especially the girl in the Restuarant was very friendly although the receptionist was a bit miffed when I queried the cost. The booking via bookings.com I though included breakfast, but we were charged approx €80 extra more than I was expecting due to 2 days breakfast for the 5 of us.

Review 57:- a bit outdatet rooms, furnish and so on. - only a handshower.

Review 58:- good service, I could store my coolbox in their coolers. - discount on the price of the room, when I found out in the morning that the shower was't working. - good location, nearby the water and downtown - private garage for our car - good and luxery breakfast (it more continental then french)

Review 59:Room was small also shower, but very clean. I don't like bolster pillows - but that seems to be a typically 'French' thing.

Review 60:Hotel very centrally located. A very short walk to the main square, imperial palace and the town was easy to get around and had two very nice meals in the restaurant next door and they were good value with excellent service.

Review 61:Old smelly hotel, just a shelter for 1 night

Review 62:Location is fine.nothing else.

Review 63:An excellent location overlooking the river. Close to the town centre and station. Staff were friendly and helpful.

Review 64:The location of the hotel is perfect for me when Paris is all sold out during exhibitions in Ville Pinte.

Review 65:Can't think of anything.

Review 66:Great location in the heart of Compiegne around the corner from the train station.

Review 67:Decor a little tired but functional

Review 68:Cheap josh, good location

Review 69:Nothing

Review 70:Location and the friendliness of the staff.

Review 71:Close to train station. Helpful and friendly staff

Review 72:rooms, decor, very dated, too expensive for what it was. should be half the price.

Review 73:location

Review 74:No tea or coffee making. Weak shower. Lumpy mattress.

Review 75:View from the room over the bridge and river.

Review 76:The hotel was a bit tired

Review 77:The hotel was very convenient

Review 78:Noise up above us and hearing the toilet flushing from above

Review 79:Good for price clean and comfortable

Review 80:The staff were really helpful. The rooms were really comfortable

Review 81:Would use again very nice area

Review 82:noise

Review 83:Compiegne

Review 84:Comfortable rooms and friendly staff.

Review 85:Very basic rooms

Review 86:Very basic rooms but ok for the money.

Review 87:The Wi-Fi is spotty. TV was much too small (17") for the room.

Review 88:Great location. Excellent breakfast. Great staff. Off-street parking is a good value

Review 89:Noisy if you opened the bedroom window for some fresh air

Review 90:Staff were very friendlly and helpful. Hotel offered parking and a great breakfast at very reasonable prices. Very well situated to visit main sites in Compiegne

Review 91:A very friendly and helpful welcome. Excellent location on the river and you can park easily outside. Decor of rooms rather old-fashioned but everthing was very clean. Free Wi-fi. Good breakfast

Review 92:Bit of street noise but nothing too bad. I wouldn't stay there in Summer though as it would be very, very noisy at night.

Review 93:Decent stop overnight in Compiegne. Check in was easy. Room wasn't flash, but comfortable.

Review 94:This is a cosy hotel for holidays. For business travellers the breakfast is too late at 7AM. However, that is a small issue. Overall I was very happy with my stay.

Review 95:Loved the location. It is steps from the train station and only about 300 meters from the beautiful town hall. The reception staff in the evening was very helpful. I needed a very early breakfast. The person in room next to my original assigned room came in 'coughing or otherwise sick'. I asked for and was given a quieter room without any question. The room looked out on the quieter back court. The restaurant next door was excellent. I had 2 starters and it made a good meal.

Review 96:After being in Spain for our holiday compiegne was very expensive to eat and drink. Almost triple what we had being paying in Spain. Breakfast at the hotel was a bit limited.

Review 97:The location of the hotel It was central and on the river with lovely views. The restaurant served lovely food. Compiegne was a pretty town.

Review 98:A little old fashioned and dated.

Review 99:love ly hotel friendly staff efficient and helpful recommend to travellers as a stop off going to and from the South of France to Calais

Review 100:close to interesting historical sites very near train station very good resto where they kindly altered service so a friend could catch a train - and sent him away with a parcel of dessert!

Review 101:Lack of air conditioning especially at night when sleeping.

Review 102:Location is fantastic, good for trains, buses and in the centre of town. Staff very friendly. Rooms very clean and well maintained. secure parking off the road.

Review 103:pleasant reception staff, family room had separate enclave for the children. Location by the river and short ten minute walk from the town centre and chateau.

Review 104:The hotel is dated, so don't expect a plush lounge or rooms. Some people have complained about noise - this is a CITY hotel, so what do you expect, the bucolic lowing of cows? Friday night was really hot and the chambres aren't airconditioned

Review 105:The location - all the staff were brilliant. I parked my moto in the small garage - no charge made. They lent me an umbrella when it was raining. I was 10 mins late for breakfast on the Sunday, but that was of no bother at all and I had a nice breakfast

Review 106:Very helpful reception staff. Old building but clean and comfortable. Excellent location. We had driven back from South West France. This hotel is an excellent place to stop off overnight.

Review 107:On busy access to town centre. Noisy if windows open. Mid range price so not really for budget conscious.

Review 108:5 mins from the railway station. On edge of Oise River. 5 mins from town centre. Shops and supermarket very close. Friendly, helpful, English speaking staff. Bike hire close and many cycle paths to explore. Rooms light and spacious.

Review 109:I didn't like the smell of cigarettes on the bedding, and the extreme noise outside at night. Also this end of town seems to be where a lot if vagrants hang out, a little scary walking around at night with small children.

Review 110:I liked the location and the views of the river and bridge

Review 111:Its position and the availability of a lockable garage. It is a rather old fashioned traditional hotel but excellent for where it was near the centre of Compiègne. Excellent Bistrot attached!

Review 112:Would have liked tea making facilities and a proper lounge.

Review 113:The Hotel was in a good position near to the town. I enjoyed the market on Saturday.Plenty of Bars and eateries. It is close for sightseeing the old town. Buses are free. The staff were friendly and helpfull.

Review 114:The parking is not the best but the lady in reception did give up herparking space for me and did not charge me which was very kind of her.

Review 115:The staff were very friendly and helpful and our rooms were clean andcomfortable. The breakfasts were excellent served in a nice diningarea. The Hotel is just a short walk from the railway station (which weused for a day trip to Paris) and a five minute walk over the river intotown. There we found lots of shops, bars and restaurants and had awonderful time.

Review 116:Slightly dark corridors in need of a lick of paint! The free secure parking now costs 5 euros!

Review 117:Location by the river close to town centre but a quiet location for the central position.

Review 118:Obliging and knowledgeable staff at reception (possibility for luggage storage), Clean and comfortable room, Riverside location that is close to the city centre yet on the quieter, other side of the bridge.

Review 119:Friendly helpful service with secure off street parking for motorcycles

Review 120:Bathroom
