Reviews for Villa Morelia
Review 1:An expensive stay despite a good room rate from Booking.com. Would probably not stay again if had to the posted rate.
Review 2:Very upscale supremely comfortable modern room in new building next to renovated old mansion where the restaurant is. Excellent work chef Didier Thanks. Superb and bountiful breakfast great for us hungry cyclists.
Review 3:Couldn't get evening meal in hotel. Only one small local bar selling home made microwave food (though it was very good) in village. Would have had to travel some distance to eat if it was not open.
Review 4:Quiet hotel, with high standard of cleanliness and comfortable rooms.
Review 5:Well, dust was everywhere. Sorry but true.
Review 6:The place is just fantastic. Really quiet and relaxing. Personal is very nice and helpful. Nice point for starting some hiking trips. And the restaurant is highly recommended. Breakfast may seem a bit expensive but it includes champagne.
Review 7:Not happy on arrival when we were told we couldn't be accommodated in the restaurant, after saying we were more than unhappy we were offered a table.
Review 8:The restaurant here is superb. The meal and service were outstanding. A thoroughly memorable experience and highly recommended. And for less than €60 per person (+ wine). Don't miss it.
Review 9:Intermittent wifi and no safe and limited evening menu and breakfast at 18 euros a head was uninspiring . Room rate of 230 euro a night was not the best value we have experienced.
Review 10:Receptionists friendly and helpful from UK. Room very comfortable - no safe available but apparently no crime. Lovely old fashioned French restaurant but very limited choice - found the menu very heavy however first night they were kind and arrangedc a fish main course for us with a fab desert and an excellent selection of cheeses. Walks in the area were amazing. Staff were lovely.
Review 11:We arrived on a day after a wedding the previous day when they had run out of beer!! This was not very good for 11 gentlemen. There was only one place in the nearby village that was open, it was either the hotel or nothing. The wine was very expensive and we were overcharged on our drinks bill.
Review 12:Location of Hotel is good if you are planning to holiday in the surrounding area, the rooms are comfortable, staff very helpful.
Review 13:Silly basin which didn't hold water, failure of Credit Card terminal which necessitated drawing cash from ATM and depleting my subsequent ability to draw cash for further spending. My cash was in your till and not my pocket!
Review 14:Room, food, pool, garden
Review 15:it would be nice to have air-conditioning in such a lovely venue
Review 16:the room, the food, the setting, the facilities were all amazing
Review 17:* Poor wifi * no desk and minimal storage in room * repetition of menu after a week
Review 18:* Friendly, adequate and caring staff * beautiful presented meals * fine room/suite with equiped bathroom and a spacious garden * (animal) friendly environment
Review 19:The ad is misleading. We thought we were staying in a charming villabut instead had a room in a back building. We never saw the inside ofthe villa. It was over priced.
Review 20:The property
Review 21:Nothing
Review 22:Very helpful staff. Comfortable well appointed room in the new part. Very good restaurant, fixed menu but very happy to offer an alternative if you did not like a specific course. A lovely meal and good selection of cheeses and wines. Good breakfast.
Review 23:Nothing to dislike unless you have a fussy attitude to food....c'estanglaise as they say :)
Review 24:Excellent location for cycling col d'Vars, Allos, Cayolle. Verymodern annexe wing. Swimming pool(not heated, great for recovery).Excellent chef, fixed menu, not cheap but worth it. Free wifi. Amazinghelpful English speaking staff, beautiful grounds. Bargain.
Review 25:There is no proper reception in this hotel, nor a seating area forvisitors other than outside in the garden. On the whole, our stay herewas very disappointing. The breakfast was sub standard, and the coffeecold. The pool area has a cover on it which is unsightly and makes thewhole swimming experience a non event. Unfortunately, this Hotel doesn'tdeserve a four star rating in our opinion.
Review 26:The bed was very comfortable.
Review 27:At breakfeast : tea not warm enough, and coffea nearly cold. Every thing was else was perfect. Something has to be done about tea and morning coffea.
Review 28:Every thing, the beauty of the place, the view, the garden, the very and refined food at supper, the swimming pool. The big, well decorated and comfortable rooms and bathrooms. The kindness toward our kids who enjoyed their room and big bath room.
Review 29:Pool and gardens were disappointing.
Review 30:Excellent location. Very comfortable room. Super dinner and breakfast on the terrace. Charming staff. Secure free parking.
Review 31:We were unable to eat in the restaraunt on our first nights stay as itwas fully booked. We walked to a Chalet Cafe overlooking the local lakefor our evening meal and got well bitten. Need to take Insect reppellentwith you if you try the same.
Review 32:The decor was excellent, The bed was extremely comfortable. There was noair-con. The gourmet meal in the restaraunt was excellent. The groundswere pleasant and had sun loungers and orchard trees for shade. Therewas adequate car parking in the hotel grounds.
Review 33:Very low level of service in the hotel. There is clearly a managementissue. During checkin and check out we met friendly personnel, but onother occasions there was nobody to be found. Sometimes very youngpeople walking around, who seemed to be running the place and wereenjoying their own stay there. Swimming pool was covered because thecovering construction was broken and could not be removed and duringmost of the day the lawn was being spraid, so impossible to sit in thenice garden. We did not try the restaurant, because of bad reviews onseveral sites, and breakfast we skipped due to the very high price. Allin all not a Chateaux et Hotel level.
Review 34:Hotel is situated in a beautiful villa with garden. Our room in thenewly built Annex building was spacious, clean and comfortable.
Review 35:The quality of the room exceeded our expectations and was very comfortable. The hotel grounds were beautiful and the views of the surrounding mountains spectacular.
Review 36:Room service could have been much better balanced to match the hotel status claimed; one day the breakfast was not available at all (letter of excuse from hotel manager, car accident reason), the other day we were lucky to have one, however the tray with finished breakfast spent full 24 hours outside the room's door till it was finally noted and taken away. There is no reception desk in traditional meaning of this word, instead one has to dial "9" to get any basic assistance. Sewing kit, when needed, was found only next day. Check out time (!) is also limited to after 8:30. Located in very small village with one food boutique and one souvenir outlet. Overall impression is that the hotel is challenged in service, location and overall management.
Review 37:decent room interior. Clean. That's basically it.
Review 38:Originally we asked for a family room that could accomadate a family of5. we were put into an apartment type room that very traditional andluxuriouse however we were dissapointed as it smelt of sewerage andasked to be moved. Also the hotel offers no bar or social areas to relaxsuch as a lounce, library or bar area etc and the resturant is the mostexpensive I have experianced even in London terms. Breakfast is Euro 25per person
Review 39:When we we moved from original main 18 century building to thenew accomadation building, the difference was huge. It is modernbut sympathetic, clean and luxury fittings and fitout, verypleaseant indeed.
Review 40:no double bed no shower curtain

Review 44:Dress code for dinner Fixed time for dinner no choice of menu pricy howling child throughout meal
Review 45:Nice room
Review 46:The general appearance and quality of the surroundings was enjoyable.
Review 47:Very pleasant and comfortable - also pretty quiet, although you could hear the people above walking about.
Review 48:Fantastic i will go again
Review 49:Breakfast was very good but a little overpriced !
Review 50:Friendly,accomodating Staff,Rooms bright and modern. Quiet Location.
