Review 1：The moment we checked in the staff were behind us to get the full staybill paid. Even after paying the full amount of stay they called ourroom three to four times in the middle of the night that we have notpaid the bill. The air conditioner in the room was pathetic. One of theday during our stay they closed the pool from 8.00 pm and asked us extracharges to pay if we would like to use the pool.

Review 3：Lazy staff at breakfast time, we were calling them trying to get our coffe-tea they were acting like didn' t hear us, we had to wait for 5 hours to get a baby cot. Room was full of mosquitoes! We ask for hamburguers at lunch time and it was ridiculous we couldnt find the meat, it was just bread!

Review 5：Very friendly staff, lovely food. Very beautiful hotel tropical feel. Easy access to bentota and the surrounding areas. We got a room up grade and half board included when we arrived which was a great treat the food was fantastic. Would definately stay again

Review 8：The room gives you uncharged company of mosquitoes and some times lizards following them. It seems to be a very old hotel with limited facilities. you can get a better option with this price. the staff is very uncooperative and lethargic as the room service guys sometimes take 30 minutes to reply or forget easily, hence you are forced to take buffet as due to shortage of staff alacard menu takes a lot of time.

Review 9：The rooms were dirty and looked like they had never been used. The towels were not washed and the bed sheets smelled awfull and the bathroom shower door was broken. The staff was not very attentive and friendly. I hope they fix these things so that in the future it would be a better a cleaner place to visit.

Review 10：Our breakfast meal was great, there was a vast number of delicious food. The pool was clean and fresh and had a aquatic blue colour. The pool boy was also very kind and friendly. I think this is nice place for a family to enjoy their holiday.

Review 11：We were surprised for 3-4 star hotel with quality of the the room floor which is dusty and toilet get wet as no separation between toilet and shower. Next day we stayed in Cinnamon Bey hotel which is 5 star is like a heaven. if you don't bother much about room and toilets etc nothing much to complaint overall.

Review 37：The wifi log in. When you walk to the beach there always were bad guys who offer you inside tours in Bentota but for sure this is nothing to do with the hotel but made us feel unsafe. There were political problems against Muslims in the same area which also made us extremely unsafe and definitely won't comeback to the same place again.

Review 39：Hotel is under staffed. I was promised by booking.com a ground floor room but I was given a 1st floor room. Accidently my children spilled noodles onthe bed and I wanted a bedsheets to be changed. It was not done. And the wash room size is pretty small.and the rooms and hotel is quite old.

Review 61：I had the worst experience in my life at this hotel, I will brieflyexplain, we arrived late, no body show any interest of our presence, weentered the room, we found a good amount of Geckos (Lizards), no onehave made a pre check for our room we asked them to change the room, weentered four other rooms and all have the same problem, in additon, notclean, Dirty bed sheets, Dust everywhere. Cockroaches, we contact themanager, we asked her to upgrade the room, she simply said you have topay usd 125 extra per night!! She did not care about what we faced, shesaid, this is Sri Lanka, take it or leave it, the amount was alreadycharged! We had similar issue with Regency - Kande, they give us Suitefor free. Overall, dont go. They will not give any respect to you, eventhe place is far from everywhere, and you need each time rs 1000 perround trip to the city center, I will never knock thier door again. Goto Bentota Beach Hotel.

The manager is not available if you haveany issues like ours he conveniently disappears into the background...Just in case he might have to agree that the customer is right! Becareful.... Review 67：we been to The Palms from 05th of may till 08th of may, a group of 18 persons. after we been to Negombo, Kandy and Udawalawe Narional Park this hotel was a shock to us. everything is very very very old, in the rooms are bugs as big as a finger, one of girls wake up with one bug on the head, another girl found glass in the omlet, me i made indigestion from the first day.the staff si rude and impolite. If you want a good vacation DO NOT GO to THE PALMS, go to Cinamon BAY is near this hotel and everything if great there.

Review 69：They over charged me for the lunch and dinner I was informed the chargeswere usd 20 per person I was charged at the rate of usd 32, I arrived atthe hotel at 4.30 pm but was billed for lunch witch I never took whichwas later adjusts.Child supplement was stated as US$21++ but was billed at USD 47, They billed for lunch on the even though we left after breakfast.

Review 73：There were many very loud Russians in groups. There really were shouting, drinking and hollering all day. Having a good time for them was a real nuisance for everyone else. They didn't seem to know or care about, how to behave ! Taxi fro airport took nearly 4 hours along the Gaulle Rd. make sure they take you on the highway!

Review 74：Great wide beach with breaking waves. The staff were charming and attentive. There are a few beach bars within minutes of the hotel which were a great alternative. We spent 5 days R and R here before wandering off on an adventure. Lovely gardens and pool/ sunbathing areas.

Review 75：Reception staff unhelpful Poolside grass area covered with flies and midges,we both got covered in bites. Beach very poor, unclean, pestered by locals selling items.. Air con, hot tub and hair dryer in suite faulty and broke down 3 nights out of 5. Staff reluctant to control loud and drunken guests therefore spoiling everybody's holiday.

Review 77：The room was clean but the ac was noisy. There was a musty damp smell.We booked adjoining rooms for the kids/us but we were at other endsof the corridor which left me feeling unsafe. They moved us on day 2.The staff were slow. Our first meal took one hour and was stone cold.The breakfast buffet was basic and not suitable to the pallet of youngBritish children...curry for breakfast doesn't do it (althoughhusband was happy). All the meat was spicy, even the breakfast chickensausages. Omelette was over oily and often the egg uncooked. The fruitwas old, the bread often stale. The biggest problem was that there maybefour restaurants but they all had the same menu and every dish bar onewas served with fries. 1 dish was curry and rice. All restaurants wereopen air, no ac, which meant we had squirrels by our feet and crowsflying in and stealing toast - cery hot and uncomfortable to eat,unhygienic and scary for kids. The children ended up having room serviceand the same meal for four nights. We also got very bad sun burn but wecan't blame the hotel for this but do take some high factor. We livein The Middle East and are regularly at the beach, but this was hot! Theresort is surrounded by a fence with security which is good because wewere safe and We were not hassled by hawkers but did make me feeluncomfortable.

Review 78：View, scenery, beach, pool - an absolutely stunning setting. Beach shopswere lovely for nic naks and clothing. Had a beautiful dress made formyself and my daughter. The fishermans wharf restaurant had a selectionif fish (all served with fries) the lobster was good but only availableone night out of three.

Review 79：The pool towel limit ... only 1 per day. The food at the facility was quite expensive so we ate away from the hotel and the internet was intermittent and not reliable. My television had very poor receiption and I did not feel like it was a 4-star hotel.

Review 80：I liked the proximity of the beach though it was close to where a river emptied so the water was brownish. The facility was nice and generally clean. The breakfast was awesome!!!

Review 81：I was very disappointed that I could not go on the internet. First I was told there were too many on the server so I would have to try later--then I tried in the middle of the afternoon when I was the only one in the wifi area and I was told they turned it off and they were not willing to turn it on for me! I think I deserve a discount but the help was unwilling to let me see a supervisor and I never found one.
