Reviews for Les Aiglons Resort & Spa

Review 1:The standard rooms still do twin beds pushed together rather than double (pretty standard for Europe though)

Review 2:Love this hotel, been there twice now and just adore it. Good location and the outdoor heater spa and pool are wonderful after skiing. Seriously good breakfast too.

Review 3:Nothing major at all but Room was really hot and we couldn't find where to turn it down.

Review 4:Perfect location. Amazing View. Can hire all ski gear including clothes within the hotel. staff so polite and helpful/

Review 5:The room was very narrow and the bath was too deep to get out of for an 80 year old!

Review 6:The Hotel was well positioned just by the bus station for transport to ski lifts etc. The dining room and bar were very good and comfortable. The spa and swimming pool (outside) were good together with the Sauna.

Review 7:Room barely large enough for 2 peolpe for 5 nights. Sauna and pool very very busy at certain times as visitors not staying at hotel using. One lift inadequate for volume of clients.

Review 8:Location, as so close to centre. The sauna and pool were fantastic and the staff very helpful and spoke very good English. Parking facility very reasonable and convenient.

Review 9:Housekeeping: the soap and toilet paper ran out and although there was three of us sharing a room they only put two sets of cups and conplimentary water etc

Review 10:Spa with very useful after a day on the slopes The manager allowed us to check out later so we could shower and get ready for transfer back to airport

Review 11:nice rooms, free jacuzzi and sauna, friendly staff. good location. we checked out at 12:40 instead of 12:00. I would recommend this hotel. It was not first time

Review 12:distance to downtown, food got cold by the time I walked to the table (either was not hot or the temperature in the breakfast room was low) and upon booking and arrival they did not mention that the Spa was closed.

Review 13:Good view of the glacier on the Mont Blanc. Nice room

Review 14:The spa was closed and so were the saunas. We did go in the off season but were not informed of the closures until we went to the spa.

Review 15:Great location nestled in Chamonix. The price was phenomenal as it was in the off season. Overall, a nice hotel!

Review 16:Our room was probably the last available, it wasn't quite the standard of other rooms we've had when stayed previously. There's usually a wait at reception, that being said the staff are always polite, friendly and helpful.

Review 17:The spa is great, although the hotel was full we still managed to relax in the pool and sauna. Log fire in the bar is nice and they serve good wine

Review 18:Spa was too small for the size of the hotel. Way too many people, not relaxing at all. Had to wait in line to use the whirlpool.

Review 19:Great location, nice room,

Review 20:Room was warm. No refrigerator either. I wish the spa was open past 8pm. The shag carpet in the room was a little outdated.

Review 21:The spa is wonderful and made for wonderful relaxation. The hotel is beautiful and the staff was much nicer than other places we stayed in france. Loved the balcony with gorgeous mountain views too.

Review 22:The whole hotel is very hot and your room stays warm even without the heat on. The outdoor pool could be a bit warmer.

Review 23:Perfect location, friendly staff, excellent value for the money.

Review 24:Nothing really but we were there in the off season and even then it was quite expensive. Not a dislike, just a comment.

Review 25:Full service resort with spa, pool, etc. We had a nice view of Mont Blanc from our balcony. Nice bonus.

Review 26:Really nice hotel. Staff friendly, helpful. We were enjoying our holiday in Chamonix and are very happy that our choice of hotel was Les Aiglons Resort & Spa.

Review 27:Excellent location, have good view of Mont Blanc and only 5 minutes walk to the cable if you want to take the cable to see Mont Blanc. Staff are nice. Rooms are big.

Review 28:Limited choice at breakfast.

Review 29:Location was excellent (room with mountain view). Central location for easy access to cable car and Chamonix village. Multilingual, knowledgable, helpful staff. Clean, spacious room (junior suite). Allowed to check in a few hours early if needed...very accomodating.

Review 30:Loved everything about the town and hotel.

Review 31:Separate toilet with exhaust fan. Excellent location. Fabulous scenery. Best small French town we have stayed in. Far superior and much cheaper than Zermatt. Laundrette just around the corner. Not crowd like other locations. Easy parking. View of Mont Blanc were staggering and best in Europe. Walking distance to everything. Check out the Bighorn restaurant just around the corner, run by a lovely American family, for the best meals in town.

Review 32:The hotel Dinner menu boaster a selection of dishes for meat and fish eaters. However there was only ONE a vegetarian dish - so no choice- and that dish was pasta with tomato sauce. That was it! a dish that hardly promotes interest and one that is available in all the local snack bars and eateries . This is supposed to be a "good" restaurant" needless to say we did not stay to order a meal. The staff were not in the least interested in asking the chef if anything else could be provided, despite the fact that we pre booking our table and mentioned one of us is vegetarian.. It was most disappointing and let the hotel down very badly. Actually we DID have a choice and we chose NOT to eat in the hotel!!

Review 33:The outdoor facilities were wonderful; sun terrace, pool, Jacuzzi, bar and very comfortable seating... all practically at the foot of Mont Blanc we loved it.

Review 34:strange european shower controls

Review 35:near enough to center but away from crowds- re access to resort- there is a CLOSER train station than the chamonix main station-it is 1 quick stop south -maybe 3/4 mile BUT then leaves you with only abt 3/8 mile walk to hotel aiglons

Review 36:Nothing.

Review 37:Everything! The staff were helpful with sightseeing and dining recommendations. The room had a glorious vie of mount Blanc. The pool area is divine.

Review 38:Not being told in advance that the whole restaurant was booked out for a private function, and having to dine out.

Review 39:Liked location, beautiful. Reception staff very nice. Little pricey on the drinks.

Review 40:The hotel had no air conditioning, tried to sleep with window open but it was too much noise from the traffic.

Review 41:Convenient location, close to Aiguille du midi cable. Nice underground parking.

Review 42:Room was too hot during the night and only way to cool down was to leave the door to the balcony open

Review 43:Pool and spa are lovely and outside bar terrace has amazing views of Mont Blanc

Review 44:There was no coffee or water left each day after the room cleaners had been in.

Review 45:Fantastic hotel with good facilities near to the main shopping and eating area of Chamonix.

Review 46:Beautiful location among the mountains. A nice swimming pool and jacuzzi outside. Pet friendly, no charge for our border collie. The room is a bit smallish, but nice, with a small balcony overlooking the Mont Blanc. There are bathrobes and slippers in the room. A kettle as well :) The centre of Chamonix is 10 min walk. There is a free public parking right next to the hotel but of course it can be busy, we were lucky to get a spot there. The hotel offers private parking for 10 euros a night.

Review 47:when booking I stated I required parking on the booking.com web site, but when there they stated I should have called them directly to book a space. this meant on arrival having to park across the road in a public car park. We went for a swim to be told at the pool reception, we need to wear our white dressing gowns and slippers. we went back to the room to get changed and went straight back to the pool reception, where the same lady said sorry the pool is closed for maintenance,

Review 48:good facilities, with a nice restaurant attached to the hotel. great views of Mont Blanc which is in full view whilst swimming in the outdoor pool, modern simple rooms. Free cycles were great fun to go shopping around Chamonix.

Review 49:Checking out & I was the lucky one. One Lady on reception at 9am when everyone wanted to check out. There must have been 15 people waiting after me.

Review 50:Decent location within short walk of the town.

Review 51:Even though it was mid August,we arrived in the pouring rain! Lovely to find robes and slippers. The buffet breakfast was excellent..... though rather expensive at 15 euros each, especially when all our daughter ate was a slice of toast. The village had planned a fiesta with fireworks and entertainment which would have been lovely but unfortunately the weather put paid to that! We ate out at one of the many restaurants in the area. Expensive, but then you would expect that in a resort like Chamonix.

Review 52:The bathroom facility is a little bit shabby.

Review 53:Nice hotel! Friendly staff! Location is great -very close to tram station but quiet comparing with hotels located in downtown main street. Lovely swimming pool and kids really enjoyed it. There's free parking area outside of hotel - very convenient!

Review 54:We stayed in a Junior Suite with our two girls (17 and 14) during August. Great central location, big comfortable and stylish room, excellent facilities, good breakfast and lovely, friendly staff.

Review 55:We had a long drive the next day and hadn't asked the staff for anything apart from some ice to put into our cool box for the journey ahead that day. They had a discussion in French during which I heard one of them mentioning the bar but the other member of staff jumped in and said no I would have to go to a local supermarket to buy it. Just thought that they could have helped me a bit and I was quite happy to pay for it. Not a huge thing but left thinking they could have obliged as not really too much trouble!

Review 56:A beautiful hotel with excellent spa facilities. It is just on outskirts of the beautiful Chamonix so just a few minutes walk into the centre. We couldn't get parking as hadn't booked in advance but were shown to a nearby car park which was great and only cost about 10 Euros for the night. The rooms were comfortable and we were given robes and slippers in the rooms. Would really recommend and would definitely stay here again if in the area.

Review 57:It was a little dated. Could do with a makeover.

Review 58:The food in the restaurant was exceptionally good! Even if you don't stay in the hotel it's worth booking for an evening meal they have a new chef apparently! And the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 59:In one word, over priced. The hotel itself is one of the most expensive ones I have stayed in too date across Europe.the pictures online look great but its a little dirty as you get in. Stayed there in middle of Aug and there was no AC. This meant we had to sleep with the windows open which was extremely lous throughout the night. The restaurant in the hotel was also extremely over priced. 20 euro for a burger with cheese. Over all it was a fair quality but a big let down for the amount of money I had to pay.

Review 60:The location was right beside the lift to Mont Blanc and about 15-20 walk from train station. The pool was nice when it was open (closes quite early 8pm)

Review 61:I booked a 55 minutes facial and a 15 minutes eye/ lip treatment back yo back because I couldn't get the 85 minutes facial. The Esthetician was 20 minutes late in starting (5:20 instead of 5:00pm). The unfortunate thing is that I was out of the room at 6:02 pm. My 1:10h treatment ended up being 42 minutes. That's not acceptable in my book.

Review 62:Great location

Review 63:Not a bad experience, but the food just wasn't to my taste. I do like hot food to be served hot, not just warm. Spa not great if you have mobility needs, no handrails to use when getting in or out of the pool or jacuzzi.

Review 64:Location, just far enough out of town to be peaceful, with a great view of the mountain. Brilliant spa facilities. Superb massages.

Review 65:We were able to put our kids into the extra room of the suite we had. This was great as it meant we didn't have to tiptoe around. We could sit and enjoy a few drinks, some room service and the beautiful view!

Review 66:Rooms a little tiny and small bathrooms however it is not such a huge issue.

Review 67:Liked the location. Parking... good WI Fi and very helpful friendly staff. Clean and comfortable. Loved the fact the toilet was separate from the bathroom

Review 68:It provided a perfect location for our overnight stay while driving to Italy. The views were stunning, staff friendly, beds comfortable. It is our second stay here and we would definitely stay here again.

Review 69:Beautiful little hotel, the outside doesn't do it justice. The views were breathe taking, staff were helpful and very friendly and the food! Excellent. We will be going bk nxt yr for sure.

Review 70:Only thing I would change is the carpet in the room. It was this 70's brown shag looking thing that kept drawing my eye to it. Something about it made me not even want to walk on it.

Review 71:Fantastic view from our room of Mont Blanc and other mountains. We got a triple room and it felt like an apartment. It was huge, with a master suite and separate other bedroom down the hall. There were three of us, so it was nice having all the space and not being on top of each other. Loved the setup. There was also a fridge in the room. Great bar/lounge with a fireplace, great pool and outdoor patio area. Unfortunately, we didn't get a chance to try out the spa. Chamonix is the cutest town ever and it was a quick walk to the main street that had most of the restaurants and shops.

Review 72:- Spa already fully booked same day and next day when we arrived - not cheap (180€) but standard in chamonix for quality provided

Review 73:Soundproof rooms (not a sound from anywhere) Comfy big bed Family friendly Nice outdoor pool Outstanding lemon dessert at restaurant Very Friendly staff

Review 74:Noise from the street. Not given the room requested.

Review 75:Friendly staff, pool, deck and lawn, breakfast buffet not cheap but ok if actually fully used. Free bicycles.

Review 76:The elevator did not work, had to go in/out through the underground garage several times with all the luggage. Very dim lights in the garage. Despite all these, had to pay extra to park the car!

Review 77:Location close to the cable car to Aguille du Midi

Review 78:I was in this hotel in Sept last year an I was in the new part. But now in the old part which is not as nice. When you book is not easy to see which part you are booking.

Review 79:Nothing really. If anything, the breakfast is a bit poor and I would opt to eat in the bakery that's about 100 meters away.

Review 80:Location is excellent, just steps from the main cable car and the pedestrian streets, restaurants, etc. And it has a free parking across the street if you're lucky enough to find a spot. Pool and Spa are very nice.

Review 81:Nothing

Review 82:Staff were good. Room was good. Balcony and tv with pleny of english speaking news channels. Pool and spa available and 5 min walk to town. Free parking across the road. Sensational views of Alps.

Review 83:You need to login several times to the wifi to stay connected , that is the only downside

Review 84:Great hotel, close to chamonix center and very close to Aiguille du midi lift. Great breakfast, room comfortable, and friendly staff. We had a great stay

Review 85:The only thing are the pillows were too soft.

Review 86:Walking from the hotel to catch the cable cars up to Mont Blanc and within walking distance to anywhere in Chamonix.

Review 87:Reception desk clerk was polite, but after 3 tries. didn't get us the correct room. Manager stepped in and said he wanted us to be happy, and upgraded our room to a junior suite (2 bedrooms) and included free breakfast.

Review 88:Very good breakfast. Close to ski lift station Aiguille du Midi. Area is quiet.

Review 89:This hotel is in bad shape, dirty, bathroom very dirty. Every day got bad milk for my coffee in the room. Very disappointed not what was expected based on the hotel description.

Review 90:Stuff is very friendly

Review 91:Breakfast - in peak times food is not replenished, if you come after 8:30 half of the assortment is not available, not well predicted for the number of people attending the check out - price not correctly calculated... not really a 4 star hotel with only an outside pool. If the weather is not nice (like during our stay) you can't really use the spa facilities as everything is outside

Review 92:lobby is nice and comfortable

Review 93:The hotel was wonderful with friendly, chatty staff and great facilities. Not to mention the laundromat down the street and the walking distance to the cable car to the summit and the town centre.

Review 94:The high price of corkage €20 for a bottle of champagne we wanted to drink to celebrate a birthday on the terrasse. The bar was empty and a corkage of €12 would have been acceptable.

Review 95:I could imagine a bit lower prices. However, price level in Chamonix is generally high, so it is acceptable.

Review 96:Excellent place, nice room, very kind and helpfull stuff.

Review 97:The staff was really polite and helpful. There was a small error duringour arrival, so the next day we were upgraded for free to a superiorroom and offered a free breakfast as a gesture. The outdoor pool andjacuzzi, as well as the bar and the restaurant, offer a great view ofthe mountain.

Review 98:Bar staff seemed to dislike serving ladies and chose to ignore our drinks order in preference to others, even though he took the order. When questioned, he just shrugged. Still didn't get a drink though!!

Review 99:The staff at this hotel could have been no less helpful if they tried. We asked where we could buy a ski pass, which in a ski resort would not seem unreasonable, and were given a very unhelpful "at the ski office" when asked for directions, a vague waft of the hand andva roll of the eyes didnt really help. Almost had to apologise to the barman when asking for a drink A shame as it could be really nice

Review 100:clean hotel with great potential. great location

Review 101:Breakfast included in the nightly rates would have been much better, even a simple one.

Review 102:Comfort of bed, open-air swimming pool and access to the spa. Incredibly accommodating and friendly staff, especially Jean-Michel, the night keeper.

Review 103:The carpet was gross. The towels smelled like mustard. The hot tub was always full - couldn't use it. The entrance area was nice, but once you take the elevators to the next floor and to your room - it's a different story.

Review 104:Location was great.

Review 105:pool/spa were terribly overcrowded - especially as many non-hotel guests came in to use the facilities

Review 106:very good location. pool/spa concept cool

Review 107:Not much stock in the ski hire shop below so had to walk into town to get skis - but it's only a 5-10 min walk to the centre.

Review 108:Right next to the Chamonix Sud bus stop so very easy to get around the resort. Modern, comfortable rooms, excellent breakfast.

Review 109:Rooms could do with full renovation rather than partial makeover. Bathrooms were good though.

Review 110:This must be the easiest hotel to find in Chamonix if arriving by car. It's literally the first building on the left as you turn off the motorway. Nicely refurbished in many areas, especially the bar but rooms are very basic. Good internet access in rooms.

Review 111:Wifi was awful. Like no connection at all. Rooms are small like it's Paris, not Chamonix. Smell in the room was very bad. Hotel is near the road so it's a lot of noise all the time.

Review 112:Personal was really nice and helpfull.

Review 113:The restaurant could be more adventurous. The WiFi in the rooms is very slow at peak times. The rooms are quite small.

Review 114:The location is excellent with view of Aguila de midi, 10 mins to town and right next to the chamonix south bus stop. Staff were very helpfull and polite.

Review 115:The staff are excellent, very friendly, they couldn't have done more. Dan, Miguel and David deserve a mention, they and all the other staff are a credit to the hotel...

Review 116:hotel is a bit far from the downtown of chamonix. I had to walk around 15minutes to arrive downtown near chamonix station.

Review 117:clean and comfort hotel. close from cable-car station (but not operating during my stay in chamonix due to annual maintenance). outdoor spa is popular and good.

Review 118:too little space everywhere: spa, steam room, sauna, lobby, our room was very small, etc.

Review 119:scenery: astonishing... staff: extremely kind and helpful breakfast everything was close to the hotel

Review 120:Hot tub should be open before 10am and after 8pm.

Review 121:Room was really nice, large, and comfortable. Staff were really nice and it was really good to have free bikes available. Great location and really good view. Will stay there again.

Review 122:My credit card is charged twice - hotel says it isnt them, but I am not so sure!

Review 123:Nice clean room Good view Easy parking Great breakfast Heated outdoor pool free to use

Review 124:Hotell is simple and plenty of young party voicies in the corridor at late hours. Some smell, but just noticable as I'm sencitive, from the bathroom. Not a big deal when I closed the door. Wi-Fi worked fine even I had to login in multiple times and it was a bit slow in the busy hours 6-10 pm.

Review 125:Excellent view from the pool and very helpful personell. Good location with next to the lift to Aig-du-midi which we used. An other few minutes to get to central Chamonix promenad. Large free (for 24h) parking just outside the hotell.

Review 126:Excellent restaurant serving wonderful and beautifully presented food. Great choice for breakfast. Lovely terrace in the shadow of a glacier and Mont Blanc

Review 127:The location of the hotel is so close to the Cable Car of Aiguille Du Midi about 300 meters only and the view of the mountains from the rooms was so fabulous.

Review 128:The service at the reception was very slow. In their defence they have just transferred over to a new compputer system, but one person to deal with check-ins and check-outs is not enough, and could be improved. The public car park opposite was full so we chose to pay the 10 Euros per day for parking which was well worth it as in security of the underground car park. Rooms were a litte dated with deep pile shaggy dark carpet and thick rough paint on the walls. The normal double room we had on the first night was on the first floor facing the road and although not a busy road, it was very noisy. Bathroom with separate and toiilet, both very small. We didn't have breakfast but at 15 Euros per person, there are plenty of better value options in Chamonix.

Review 129:Location is excellent. 5 mins walk to the Aguille de Midi cable car and 10 mins to town. We came by car and was very easy to locate without having to drive into town. Rooms were clean and modern, wi-fi was good and free. We stayed in 2 rooms, normal and superior. It is worth paying the extra for the superior room as you get much more space and better views. The bed was the same size in the normal and superior room and very big and comfy. Extra pillows were available in the wardrobe. Cable tv and were able to pick up Engish channels.

Review 130:1.Would be worth of price if the breakfast was included - otherwise it's a bit too expensive for average pocket. 2.No vents/air-con in the toilet neither in the bathroom so you can have own steam-room for free. We didn't like it though (especially in the toilet...) 4.Maybe I'm fussy but it would be nice to have a bit more facilities in the room like a proper mugs and steal teaspoons instead of one-shot paper/plastic coffee mugs and tiny plastic sticks (not spoons really) to stir your drink. 3.We spend 3 nights there and we noticed that jacuzzi was occupied over the evening for all the time mostly by the same guests even it was out of the season. We didn't have a chance to use it :/ I can't imagine how it works over the season. 5. I would say maybe *** but definitely not **** hotel, sorry. Little details make a big difference.

Review 131:1.The hotel has a good location, near to the Aiguille du Midi cable car station and local bus stop. 2.Hotel located a few minutes away from town center. 3.We had a nice mountain view from our room. 4.There is a quite nice swimming pool with jacuzzi. 5.Very friendly, professional staff. 6.The hotel is a very well looking inside, nice designed and cozy, with lovely patio and communal terrace with mountain view. 7.Good food (but expensive)

Review 132:Hot tub: meh. It's on a 15-min timer (15 mins of jets, 15 mins of tepid bathtub) and it's not really all that hot. Wifi is truly terrible (slow, drops connection, and prompts to re-authenticate every time) everywhere... except in the bar, where it's fast and stable.

Review 133:Pool, sauna, chillout room: awesome. Staff: friendly and helpful. Make sure you ask for a Guest card for the bus/train as it's 100% free w/ the card or EUR1.5 for each trip without it.
