Reviews for CGH Résidences & Spas Les Chalets d'Angèle

Review 1:The kitchen plates, pots, pans, glasses etc weren't very clean so we had to wash everything before using it (no we are not fussy it was not clean enough to use). The hot water was only luke warm unless you ran the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower for a couple of minutes. This was the advice from reception. It worked but we didn't like it as if everyone is doing it this is a massive waste of hot water. Being charged €60 for using the underground car parking "because we didn't book directly with CGH". This charge wasn't made clear when we checked in. That said the underground parking was really useful as it made access to the apartment very easy.

Review 2:The facilities were excellent for young families. Our kids loved the pool / jacuzzis and our apartment was a reasonable size. The reception staff were very friendly and allowed a late checkout which suited our plans perfectly. It was well worth attending the Sunday evening reception presentation. All the activities offered were interesting (hiking, sledging, raclette, ESF) and it was nice to have a drink and taste local produce tasting. If you have a car it's very convenient for skiing at Pre la Joux (10 minute drive and free parking) where you can get over to Avoriaz.

Review 3:The oven is useless so if you have young children and are intending on cooking for them in chalet - be warned - it is a microwave style convection oven - purchase food accordingly - preferably those you can prepare on the hob! The location is a 15 minute walk up hill into Chatel town/ a 5 minute bus ride (the stop is right outside) - however with the spread out nature of the resort - relying on the bus system is not ideal if you have children - get a hire car! The transfer time was quoted by the website and magic transfers as being an hour - when we arrived we were told by the driver at Geneva that it is 1hr 45mins on a good day with no traffic so be prepared!

Review 4:The value for money was very good. The kitchen was well equipped with all the essentials and more. The spa was lovely! Facilities were clean and spacious. The gym was a great addition. There is a ski rental at the base of the hotel which is super handy for those who hire ski equipment. The bathrooms were clean and modern. There were throws in the bedroom to keep it cosy. The balacony is very large and spacious!

Review 5:Dish washer did not function. Technician left a note whilst we were at the pool to say that it was O.K. It worked again once and then failed again. The inventory check was long and there was a considerable discrepancy between the items listed and the items actually available. This activity is a gross imposition on the guests of the chalet who are on holiday.

Review 6:Spacious. Excellent pool facilities.

Review 7:Wi fi did not work Having to cross underground car park to get out Not able to adjust temperature of the apartment or hot water (that did not seem really hot).

Review 8:Comfortable apartment, sports shop next door, spa, swimming pool.

Review 9:The rooms are really small compared to the pictures. The device is really poor and messy. The rooms were prepared for 4 and not 6 as we booked and should do ourselves. Difficulties to get simple basics for the apartment (toilet paper, juices, tea) or get extra towels, bed sheets etc. At the end of our week, the staff asked for written feedback and read it before I left. They literally "jump" on me and did not appreciate at all the feedback. It is really a lack of professionality. Would obviously not advise to go.

Review 10:The swimming pool, hammam and sauna are really enjoyable facilities restricted in time (only until 8pm and not on Saturday morning)

Review 11:Reception only open for period morning and evening trying to find key safe difficult and unclear in the dark main doors were locked after a search and a phone call we eventually found the safe in a wooden box on the wall

Review 12:Pool and room was great, kitchen and bathroom good, everything new and very clean,

Review 13:We came very early in the ski season and there were not many other guests. The pool and sauna were great and we used them every day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The apartment was small but clean and had everything that we needed.

Review 14:It is a bit out of the way. No problem if you have a car. There is a ski bus which runs every 15 to 20 mins to the centre of chatel and you can walk to super chatel from there. If you need to go to Piou Piou you need to change buses so it takes a while. Also for some reason the heat turns off in the apartment at night so we found it a bit cold.

Review 15:Beautiful, clean apartment, great size for a family with 2 small children. Pool area and spa were excellent. Pool is heated to 30 degrees, and kiddie pool to 32 degrees! The staff were very friendly and helpful. There is a ski rental/store in the building which was very convenient. There is also an option to order baked goods for breakfast which we really enjoyed.

Review 16:The rooms were small and no space for our bags

Review 17:It was one of the best holidays I had

Review 18:The staff is really helping. The swimming pools are really good for small children and safe. Other spa facilities are also very nice.

Review 19:No bar and lack of English TV channels

Review 20:Modern spacious clean comfy accommodation ski shop underneath and spa

Review 21:Very little information about anything apart from check out procedure. Staff could avoid repeat questions if some kind of manual were provided in the apartments.

Review 22:Clean and simple. Friendly staff.

Review 23:Although the staff were very friendly they did not volunteer enough information. Every bit of information had to be specifically asked for - be it how the fan works over the oven, what time the ski hire shop opened, or when the reception closes.

Review 24:we loved the swimming pool, sauna, ski room. The room was smaller than anticipated but comfortable enough.

Review 25:- lack of in-room isolation, which means that you hear every move your neighbors make and they hear you!

Review 26:- proximity to the bus stop - SPA facilities - furnishing / all equipment in the apartment - staff friendliness

Review 27:Long walk, 15 mins, from centre of village.

Review 28:Not enough hot water in the evening
