Reviews for Auberge Batby

Review 1:Better value lunch menu would be an improvement.

Review 2:Good quality, but limited menu for lunch and dinner. Lovely location overlooking the lake. Very clean rooms. Good value for money.

Review 3:The view of the lake from our bedroom and balcony was lovely. Rooms are very quiet. The air con and wi fi make staying at this traditional inn a truly comfortable and relaxing experience. Restaurant has limited choice but we enjoyed a splendid meal there...a real treat.

Review 4:We had room no 4, which was rather pink for our liking! It was spotlessly clean but could do with a lick of paint. The wifi was rather slow and dropped out from tim to time. All minor quibbles however.

Review 5:The owners and staff were very friendly and helpful. They spoke very little English (why should they?) but we managed to make ourselves understood with our limited French and they went out of their way to meet our needs. The restaurant makes nice traditional French food. There is a limited menu but the food is excellent. The location by the lake was perfect. We would definitely recommend staying here as a base for the Landes region.

Review 6:Bad start with serving sour milk to the coffee and later at the dinner lipstick left-overs on the wine glass. Welcoming can be better. Felt like two customers bothering the lady receiving us.

Review 7:charming location, close to golf courses. Cosy room with balconey & bubble bath, quiet. outstanding food in the restaurant, we got a chance to taste & learn about Armagnac with the chef. Very much appreciated.

Review 8:It's remoteness

Review 9:The excellent restaurant

Review 10:Lack of proper shower in bathroom

Review 11:Good location. Excellent food.

Review 12:There was a bit of a mix-up regarding the room (we were apparently put in a more expensive one, but the proprietor didn't notice, and didn't mention it when we checked in), but the subsequent discrepancy in the bill was sorted out quickly with relatively good grace.

Review 13:Bearing in mind that it was the end of the season and we were almost the only people there (the place was deserted when we arrived well after the advertised check-in time), the hotel was very comfortable and ideally situated on the side of the lake. Dinner was excellent, but not exactly under-priced, considering that not all items on the menu were available. However, the alternatives were delicious (and this guy knows how to cook an omelette!). Breakfast was good.

Review 14:Room sold as 'view of the lac'. Unfortunately, the trees are so overgrown they completely obscure the view. No tea and coffee making facilities in room.

Review 15:Size of room and en suite (ch.6). Quality of furnishings and fittings. Quality of the breakfast.

Review 16:The saloon doors into the bathroom were noisy and made it awkward getting into the bathroom. Soustons centre was disappointing but it was very pleasant around the hotel & lake. Room & breakfast were pricey

Review 17:Food in the restaurant looked good

Review 18:Minor point but the bedroom air-con control would not work - at all. Noteven the proprietor could get it to work, nor the one in the empty roomdown the corridor. At temps of 30c+ this is a slight irritation. Air-condidn't work in the sun kissed restaurant either.

Review 19:Typical French auberge - clean, friendly, and efficient. Pleasant, smallish room over looking the lake, with all the very latest devicesE.G. multi-speed, multi-jet shower plus an electronically controlled spabath. Good, honest food.

Review 20:very good restaurant

Review 21:Perfect place and good food

Review 22:Kitchen smell on entry

Review 23:Lovely location overlooking the `Grand Lac

Review 24:Good comfortable room in a pretty location in the lake.
