Reviews for Chambres d'Hôtes Les Pensées Douces
Review 1:Could not believe the tiny, dark, untidy frontage was where we were staying. This is certainly a stay in someone's home where standards of neatness and cleanliness may not match yours! The room itself was actually bright and cleanish. But the house and kitchen were dark and from a bygone age. Our host spoke only rapid french and seemed to feel that providing B&B requires the same effort as having your mate to stay. Breakfast was in a dingy kitchen with cold coffee and the minimum of food. If you have a good sense of humour you'll survive, otherwise beware!
Review 2:Good location - just a short stroll into town.
Review 3:Hot water pressure very low in the attic room we were in, little more than a trickle. Credit card machine did not work. They were unable to take cash? When i offered two 50 Euro notes to cover a bill of 81 Euros they would not accept them, either because they had no change or did not trust the notes to be genuine. I was walked to a cash point to get money out - not sure what this
Review 4:It was basically clean but a mouldy shower curtain and some wall paper peeling off the walls was a let down.
Review 5:Location. Location. Location.
Review 6:Actually, everything , this place should not be considered a hotel.
Review 7:Only the location
Review 8:the room was foul and dark, i run away once i see it and i found another hotel although the amount has been cut already
Review 9:nothing
Review 10:Everything Else: - dirty sheets - dirty dishes at breakfast ...
Review 11:Location
Review 12:Dirty kitchen Dirty bedroom with items needing Repair No staff present
Review 13:Location Theme of decoration the old building
Review 14:The owners son who appeared to be looking after it, was not around much. He was helpful when there. the main problem was lack of cleanliness in the kitchen. The rooms were fine.
Review 15:The location and quirky decoration of the rooms was great. We had the use of the kitchen which was a bonus.
Review 16:Dirty and dusty rooms. Rooms don't clean/tide up. Stuff don't speck any foreign language. If you have any questions or any problems, you can't find anyone from stuff in the hotel during the day.
Review 17:Only location
Review 18:I was flying back from a business trip early in the morning and the plan was to be picked up by my boyfriend at the airport and drive down to Auxerre, stay the night and drive to the Alps. My flight was delayed by 6 hours, and ended up missing the next two ferries, and then when we eventually made it to France it was snowing badly. We did not get to Auxerre until midnight and although it says in the details must check in by 8pm, the son stayed up and waited for us and then made us a delicious meal in the morning. Very understanding staff.
Review 19:Check-in is rather late at 5pm and breakfast is served in what used tobe the kitchen of this beautiful house, which was ok for us but may notbe to everyone's liking.
Review 20:The Les Pensées Douces is a very small bed and breakfast with two doublerooms and one family room in a very central location within walkingdistance to the centre of Auxerre. As we had two young children, we were allocated the family room which is locate don the top floors (second floor - no lift). The 'room' is actually one double bedroom, a small lounge and another twin room for the children - ample space. The hotel is full of old world French charm, which is both beautiful and comfortable - I highly recommend this hotel.
Review 21:- Should provide more info regarding a city map and remarking places of city
Review 22:- Convenient to walk around to explore a city - Nice location, not noisy and you feel safe even you stay alone - Owners are nice and friendly. They keen to help for any additional requests as much as they can - Room is lovely and cozy decorated, tidy
Review 23:Difficulty to find parking nearby
