Reviews for Grand Hotel Plombières Les Bains

Review 1:Arrogant staff and a hotel that is trading from a past reputation. A tragedy as I'm sure this hotel was once as the name suggests...

Review 2:It was a unique experience...

Review 3:None

Review 4:Superb: Sympa, nice staff, historic /splendid dining room - and off mass-Spa-market Vittel & different from usual luxury/design hotels.

Review 5:The property is quaint/creepy. Boris Karloff, Bela Lugosi, and Vincent Price were all sighted in the (presumably) dysfunctional bathing tub hall. It's fun to look at, but staying there is another question. For the first night, the heat was shut off. Second night, heat was too hot.

Review 6:The village was cool. Pre-Xmas activities over-filled the town and closed the roads. So this place has something going for it. The elevator is worth a trip (not necessarily a stay). If you are not scared of ghosts, the bath hall is quite entertaining.

Review 7:we didn't like having to leave the charming town!

Review 8:we adored the HISTORY of the town and hotel and Roman baths...one must remember what this town once WAS and not expect every detail to be of pristine nature....we feel the town and inhabitants have great charm and the mayor is trying hard to keep the atmosphere welcoming and interesting....we were the only americans there during our third stay at the grand hotel....and we liked the history of the American army liberating the town in World War ll....we are going back in 2015....

Review 9:Pleasant and calm hotel full of decoration details from the past - maybe even from the Louvre. Staff extremely friendly and helpful both at the hotel and at the restaurant.

Review 10:One thing needed fixing - loose toilet seat Restaurant food on the expensive side.

Review 11:comfortable room and facilities, helpful staff.

Review 12:Parking a bit remote

Review 13:Nice place right next to centre of lovely town

Review 14:the dinning room quiet space nice to walk around in city time from the old days

Review 15:Stark simplicity of the bedroom. Poorly functioning window latch. Tiny TV. Low bed position.

Review 16:The preservation of the original hotel in the entrance and dining halls. Small but excellent bathroom

Review 17:that we hadn't had the time to stay longer

Review 18:if you are looking for a high standard common "everywhere in the world" hotel... then this "fin de siécle" jewel embedded in the Plombieres town is not your choice... If a charming mixture of past thermal bath splendour and well renovated rooms together with a cuisine far above the well known (and boring) standards is of your interest, then the reasonable prices will also convince you... we will come back...

Review 19:no complaints......

Review 20:we like the 'old-world' flavor of this 19th century hotel...also the hotel chef is to be complimented for his cuisine and presentation for the lunch and dinner menus.. we had a corner room with a nice cross breeze during the warm weather.. .check out the room before accepting.....

Review 21:Not particularly child friendly. The very advanced menu in the restaurant only had one child option... Not good for more than a one night stay! Also no ketchup shows "child blindness"! Location was dead during our winter stay. Local spa did not allow children in... Bottom line, don't take young children here, at least in the winter.

Review 22:Friendly staff, helpful. Interesting building with slightly delapidated charm. The rooms were large enough for a family of four. Breakfast was pretty good:)

Review 23:Lack of air con in the room. Hardly got any sleep as the room was absolutely boiling.

Review 24:The food was exceptionnal

Review 25:Timeless elegance, very unusual location/atmosphere, excellent cuisine, large breakfast choice.

The Fine Print

For one child of less than 16 years of age, the hotel provides an extra bed and breakfast free of charge.
