Reviews for Park Hotel Suisse & Spa

Review 1:The staff was always very friendly although they were usually very busy and not able to give you information about the ski places. The lifts were slow and not at the standard of the hotel

Review 2:The location is perfect, close to the centre and to the bus stop to go to the ski resorts. The staff was always very friendly

Review 3:problem will hot water in bathroom , staff were very good and did best to fix. next morning hot water was slow to warm up but got there eventually.

Review 4:pool and jacuzzi on roof

Review 5:Hotel decided to close restaurant with out letting you know when booking. Needed to change room as of smell of drains, tried to palm us off with lesser room then found us one next door after our complaint. Grumpy staff!

Review 6:Difficult to park in underground garage. One of the elevators wasn't working and the hot tub was closed. Breakfast was very disappointing-food dried out, egg boiler didn't work

Review 7:Location was great. The rooms were beautiful and bed very comfortable. Shower head gave the best shower.

Review 8:Spa was closed at 7:30pm. I think that's not what it should be if the Place carries the term "Spa" in its Name. Breakfast was nothing Special, I expected more since the Hotel holds 4 Stars. Moreover, one of the waiters suffered of unpleasant body odour and obviously forgot to put on an anti-transpirant or the like.

Review 9:The Location is really great

Review 10:The building shows its age in small ways but not such as to get in the way of enjoyment. As another correspondent has said there can be a bit of a delay in accessing the one lift that leads to the car park but this is a minor grumble.

Review 11:This is a nice family-run hotel in the very centre of Chamonix, unbelievably close to the main shopping and eating streets and with private covered parking. Nice rooftop spa and pleasant bar.

Review 12:breakfast- even though there was lots of choice, the reality is poor- the pancakes for example were "artificial"- too sweet, too strange taste...the same with the scrambled eggs, or even the choice of cheeses and ham was poor and seems old (the leftovers from previous days)

Review 13:nice rooms, spa facilities available, very good location, a very nice surprise for a child prepared in a room- a small backpack with a teddy bear and some bath accessories and a set for drawing

Review 14:The Max height on the parking is 1m90..... So if you have a roof top storage the car cab not go in the parking booked..... And we realised this only once arrived there No air conditioning for the summer months

Review 15:The spa Area is wonderful, not too good for children though as the swimming pool only access is a vestibule direct into a 1m40 deep water ish ( the rest of the swimming pool is 2m20 height)

Review 16:Not recommended for young children. We wanted a hotel with a pool for our kids and we were very disappointed that the Spa staff followed us around telling the children to be quiet. The children were not misbehaving, but the expectation was for silence. This hotel should specify that children are not welcome in their pool/spa area.

Review 17:Very central location and a quiet but small comfortable room.

Review 18:The non warm welcome. I asked for two side by side rooms since we travelled with 4 children and they gave us a room at the first floor and a room at the third floor!

Review 19:The Spa

Review 20:The wifi signal wasn't strong enough to use in our room. I was the 3rd in our room do got stuck in the day bed which was as hard as a rock.

Review 21:The location was awesome. Right in town and very close to the bus stop to the different peaks. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. Dinner was great and so was the breakfast. A great value.

Review 22:The ski room is at the basement, walking down the steep stairs with all ski-gears and a tired body at the end of a skiing day is not pleasant. Breakfast does not look attractive or worth the price, so we didn't stay.

Review 23:The staff are very helpful - we looked at reviewed online and was a bit worried - turned out it was absolutely fine! They helped us with orienting, restaurants recommendation and booking, buying ski pass and etc.. The roof top spa - hotel prices are relatively expensive anywhere in chamonix anyway, the free access to the spa makes it all worth it. We had a few cloudy days when visibility was too low for skiing, glad we have the spa to stay-in at. Location - at the center of the town (with very good restaurants , and a supermarket nearby) and close to bus stop to ski slopes - every meter matters when walking in ski boots.

Review 24:Carpark was a bit of a pain. Could only access from hotel lift, which sometimes took a while to come.

Review 25:Location was perfect. Rooftop spa amazing. Great find.

Review 26:We were given a disabled access room with a wet room style shower. The drains smelled awful to the extent that i was worried about possible fumes. This didn't improve when i notified the desk and I had to block off the plugholes myself with wet paper.

Review 27:Room was quiet and bed was very comfortable

Review 28:Friendly and helpful staff, great location and close to the bus stop for accessing the various pistes. Loved the spa on the roof. The rooms were a good size and very clean and comfortable. The food at both breakfast and dinner was very good. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would go back.

Review 29:The room was little bit cold at night.

Review 30:Wellness center on the roof top with the breath-taking view, Excenllent service of the staff members at reception desk, location at Chamonix center

Review 31:A group of Citigroup bankers on a work trip who monopolised the hot tub! 3 nights in a row we were subjected to their beer-fueled testosterone-laden drivel.

Review 32:Location was amazing - close to lifts and bus to slopes and close to restaurants and bars in town.

Review 33:The ski room is down a narrow, Winding flight of stairs which is very dangerous in ski boots or wet shoes or with carrying skis. Additionally the ski room floor is wet and slippery with no rubber matting- a real accident waiting to happen. The spa floor was also constantly wet which is another hazard and also not hygienic

Review 34:Good location, room and spa

Review 35:extremely overpriced hotel for what it offers. our original booking was for a standard room and a superior room. the standard room was a glorified cell. therefore we had to upgrade, the only available room was a very expensive basic suite, which we opted for as the superior room offered stank! leaving us with no other choice. Breakfast was miserable, and the worst were the stairs of the ski room., which are extremely uncomfortable and dangerous. all in all a below standard 4 star hotel.

Review 36:Chamonix is a beautiful resort, the hotel was in a perfect location. The hotel and rooms are clean

Review 37:The views were fantastic (make sure you request an upper room at the front of the hotel) the deluxe twin room we had was very comfortable and was of a luxury standard. excellent Shower. the staff were great english speaking staff and very very friendly (even when returning at 3am in merry moods :D) overall a cracking Hotel with very very nice food as well.

Review 38:I booked this hotel for me and my friend to spend a week during our ski-trip to Chamonix. When I arrived to the hotel I was told I could buy the ski-pass through the hotel and they advised me on the dates as I asked them. Turns out they gave the wrong end-date and I ended up having to pay for a six-day ski-pass instead of five days. When I brought this to their attention, the reception was uninterested, but promised to bring it up with management. Every time this was brought up at the reception I was treated as the villain and that this could "not possibly be their fault". The whole affair ended with me paying for the unused ski-pass day, and no compensation from the hotel at all. After a day of skiing, at 5.30 pm, I arrived to the hotel room to find my friend saying that the room would have no water, and has had no water for the last hour. Much to my surprise since I just left the reception and whilst talking to them no mention of any problem with water to the room. But coming to the hotel room and having no access to water was no option for me because we had dinner reservations for 7 pm, and honestly it's not enjoyable not showering after a day in the off-piste. My friend called the reception and after debating the issue with them we were allowed access to a smaller room in order to shower. I brought up the issue with the reception saying, that it is surprising that a four star establishment not proactively offers its guests an option of where to shower if they cut the water due to maintenance. But the reception looked at me as I was speaking a foreign language (which I actually was not since I spoke French with them) and disagreed with me. The worst hotel service I have ever received in France. I'm guessing that if you did not have to deal with the reception during your stay - it could be rather pleasant. But after having stayed at other hotels in Chamonix there is better price value to be found in the city.

Review 39:The location of the hotel is the best part of the experience. The hamam and the sauna are very nicely situated at the top of the building.

Review 40:the staff were poorly trained and was at times a chaos, reserved parking space was used by another guest

Review 41:location is perfect, very near the city center

Review 42:Room service is poor. Running out of the water in mini bar, shampoo and etc... No battery in remote commander, turned down heating... Everything were sorted out after calling the reception, but it was dissappointing.

Review 43:Good location, close to the bus station, town center. Rooms are nice, spa is good. Free Wifi

Review 44:I did not like that booking.com quoted me a different price from the the price the hotel requested.i booked a room for 2 adults & 1kids From the onset there should have been a consistency in price of the room.

Review 45:I Liked that the swimming pool and jacuzzi was on the rooftop so relaxing after a longday of skiing. They also had a lovely English receptionist, made our holiday so much relaxing.

Review 46:the scrambled eggs at breakfast were often a bit soggy

Review 47:Friendly staff, helpful at all times Cozy fireplace/lounge area, excellent rooftop spa with views forever!

Review 48:Some staff seemed inflexible and un will to consider our request to change room on arrival.

Review 49:Feel of the Hotel - home from home Spa very welcome after a day on the slopes! Mostly Very friendly staff always helpful and alert! Nice atmosphere.

Review 50:Wifi is slow, the room was small with split beds but still very cosy. Don't be put off by some of the negative reviews.

Review 51:Very concerned by previous reviews but this was a great hotel. The staff were extremely helpful and polite and prompt. Great food in the restaurant. Hotel is in the city centre clean and cosy. Relaxing place to be. Really enjoyed it. Thank you to the staff, they worked hard over Christmas.

Review 52:The hotel location is perfect. The food was great - we had Xmas dinner here it was awesome. The staff and facility were both outstanding. Room was clean and nice . Would definitely stay here again !

Review 53:They should take out the bidet in the bathroom so you have more room to move around. Cramped for two people to be getting ready at once.

Review 54:The room layouts are spacious with over-sized closets. They're well appointed and very comfortable. roof top pool and jacuzzi are so relaxing amongst beautiful views of Mont Blanc and the surrounding mountain peaks. Staff was very helpful with recommendations and location is extremely convenient. Everything you need within walking distance.

Review 55:Missed a sink in the separate toilet. Hangers in the bathroom. Breakfast included at some level.

Review 56:Everything as above. Friendly helpful staff. Very comfortable beds, nice interieur, very nice spa!, clean, great location.

Review 57:WIFI slow in some rooms.

Review 58:Regularly stay here when visiting Chamonix. All round good hotel in great central location. Staff have always been helpful. Rooms decent. Car parking close by.

Review 59:The extra bed (we had a triple room) had curtains making it a very cosy experience. The interior decorated with wood and pelts was also very nice. The breakfast had a wide variety and the staff were very friendly and helpful.

Review 60:Wifi was not amazing. Only complaint!

Review 61:Very comfortable rooms! Amazing spa included in the room price with a view of Mont Blanc from the pool sauna and roof top spa. Located in the very centre of town!

Review 62:Room very warm and too noisy to sleep with patio door open Rubbish wifi No shower curtain so water covers the bathroom floor

Review 63:Location Staff were attentive and helpful Spacious room Comfy bed

Review 64:We booked the hotel the day before and we're delighted with all aspects. The reception staff were always friendly. The standard room was spacious ( room313). Right in the main square so very convenient.

Review 65:No air con - room too warm so had to open balcony door but cannot sleep with this open as too noisy Wifi is very weak No shower curtain

Review 66:Comfy beds spacious room lots of pillows, great central location, staff attentive and helpful

Review 67:Room small at the back - inner court space over looking roof vents, staff area and windows of other room etc on all four sides.

Review 68:The spa facilities on the roof and sun bathing area great.

Review 69:Breakfast was not included and very expensive at €16.00 Car parking was also €16.00 a night No actual soap bars or shampoo or conditioner there. A gel was there high up on the wall and couldn't reach it from the bath. Paid a lot of money for the room and didn't have a balcony. Was disappointed.

Review 70:Rooftop Spa with view of Mont Blanc View of the mountains from our room Very good location near the town, tourist information and train station

Review 71:room configuration was strange toilet on one side of room whilst shower was on other end.

Review 72:Nice way to finish tour du mont blanc. Great sauna & Spa on roof top

Review 73:the price of breakfast (come on!), poor dinner when we tried, very hot room in summer

Review 74:Location, nice clean rooms, very good staff, pool/jacuzzi/sauna on the roof

Review 75:The hotel was full, so that meant their car park was also full. Despite requesting a parking space when booking, we still had to pay to park in a public car park overnight. I would have expected the hotel to pick up the tab for that! The head waiter in the restaurant /bar clearly didn't want to be there! He was very surly, and seemed to take delight in informing us that we couldn't even get a sandwich in the afternoon, as the chef had gone home! In the morning he just stood in a corner, and didn't make any effort to help clear the breakfast tables! The receptionist tried to be helpful, but her English wasn't really adequate for dealing with international guests.

Review 76:The location is wonderful, nestled in the valley, with views of the snow capped mountains. Easy to walk everywhere. The hotel is built like a huge Swiss chalet, and the rooms followed the same theme. Nice big balcony too, and Sky TV, so we were able to watch the World Cup matches!
