Reviews for Hostellerie La Farandole

Review 1:the breakfast was served cold ( cold eggs are never good) they rectified it after complaint so all ok. the room was slightly dusty and the cleaning lady never made our room on the second day although we had left all morning Downtown Sanary is a little further then we thought by foot , best to have a car to go to this hotel

Review 2:We really enjoyed the staff that tried to make our stay very comfortable and were really helpful and conveyed to our every need The Jacuzzi was not working very well therefore they offered us a 1 hour spa moment which was fantastic! "Thanks again" The hotel is very well situated , right on the beach, beautiful view with a roof top Jacuzzi!! Loved it and will return soon...

Review 3:Room was very small, with insufficient hanging space, nowhere to store a suitcase, and very limited surface areas.

Review 4:Great location and a beautiful view from the large private terrace of my room.

Review 5:One minor thing is that we were not informed (not by the staff nor in the hotel manual) that on Sunday evening and Monday evening the bar was not open and no dinner was served.

Review 6:Asked for an iron and board and got a tiny travel iron and a board that the pad was rotted right away. Staff fixed this as best they could, but why does it happen in the first place? Attention to small things goes a long way.

Review 7:Quiet location, nice room. A very nice hotel and a comfortable bed and pillows :)

Review 8:The room was very small, and with a baby crib in it was very hard to move around. It's a great hotel but less suitable for little children.

Review 9:Very nice hotel, quiet, clean, peaceful.

Review 10:Staff was great..super dinner recommendations in town and enjoyed Jackie and Tanya tremendously! Loved ocean view...all good and I never respond to surveys!

Review 11:The restaurant was disappointing - beautifully located but the service was very very slow. Also the menu was the same for both lunch and dinner with only a small choice of dishes. When it finally came, the food was good. Also they were no small snack dishes that could be eaten by the pool.

Review 12:I loved the style of the hotel - it was very well designed with great attention to detail. We also stayed in another hotel that was meant to be 4* but it did not bear any comparison to la Farandole which was intimately much better. Review we read said that the staff did not speak English but this was not true - all the staff spoke English.

Review 13:Staff is young, not quite dialed in, sometimes will say one thing andnot follow through. For example, the restaurant was fully booked we weretold. Yet when going there directly there was no problem, many tables, happy to accommodate us. Same with reserving the hot tub. Fully booked.Nobody was using it. Hello?

Review 14:It was a shot in the dark, choosing this place and it turned out to bepretty cool. View, food, easy to find and overall impressive.

Review 15:A few issues to note: 1. Wifi did not work in our first floor room. Had to sit in the lobby if we needed to make travel plans. 2. Only one staff member spoke English. We are not travelers who expect everyone in the world to speak our language BUT with no WiFi either, we were stuck until someone on the 4pm shift arrived. The morning desk was unhelpful. 3. You must cab to get into town for anything. It gets pricey. 4. We called for an iron. Never arrived, no apology.

Review 16:The beach at the back of the hotel is lovely. They decorated our room because it was our honeymoon. Jeremy - the afternoon desk attendant was great. Just never hit a "luxury standard for us."

Review 17:Hotel security, lack of English spoken by the staff, inexperienced staff and lack of attention to detail. Public beach.

Review 18:Situation on the beach. Bedrooms and bathrooms were well decorated and furnished.

Review 19:We arrived in the evening around 8.30 PM and the hotel couldn't propose any meal, the restaurant was overbooked and they advised us to go to the city and look for something ourselves. We asked for an additional bed for the child, the bed was brought, but there was no pillow or any blanket, so we had to ask once more. In the bathroom there was no hair conditioner. That's not the way to work for a hotel, that takes 500 euros per night.

Review 20:We booked through bookings and paid for a sea veiw room. On arriving a very professional man escorted us to a room, it was beautiful and we were told it was a upgrade. No sea veiw. We asked why and then after some discussion we gomamsea veiw room.

Review 21:A veiw to remember. The room was beautiful as was the food. Staff also superb.

Review 22:Having to end our holiday and return to normal life.

Review 23:Very stylish hotel located right on the beach. Had a memorable dinner on the rooftop and enjoyed dining while watching the sunset over the nearby coastal hills and sea. Pools area was great and we had a large deck area outside our room that was a perfect place to relax and enjoy music from the iPod dock. Wifi was excellent, although there possibly could be instructions left in the room, as it took a walk to reception to ask how we could connect up, and was then given a password.

Review 24:The restraunt was expensive and drinks very expensive . We did not have dinner there.

Review 25:This is a modern beautiful hotel on the beach with the best views. Amazing heated pool, very relaxing. Just a short drive to the bandol shopping and restraunt area. Small beach in front, very crowded.

Review 26:The restaurant and bar were closed during our stay. We were not previously advised. There is nothing else close by so it did affect our stay and meant we had to take taxis.

Review 27:Location and quality of the finish to the hotel. Very moderns but comfortable.

Review 28:This is a modern stylish hotel that ticks all the right boxes, from start to finish you are made to feel very comfortable, throughout was immaculately clean, our room had a very spacious shower room, which is a rarity in France, we would definitely recommend

Review 29:The hotel is sitting on the beach with people crossing the parking area to go to the sea shore and who can easily entered into the hotel area to have a look as doors are wide opened all day... I saw people, not from the hotel, going to the restaurant and then enjoying the pool all day. If the hotel is packed, might be an issue as the pool area is not that big The beach is not very pretty while the pool area is nice. One problem, the food smell most of the time from the kitchen... I never complain about breakfast, but I have to say, as a 4 stars, I've never seen so few (if any) fruits...

Review 30:Staff extremely polite, trying to help. For sure, the direction wants to provide a good service, Cleaneliness of rooms, and in the entire hotel Hotel modern, like brand new Good bed, nice view Parking with valet service In front of the sea, 5 min by car from Bandol Nice pool and summer restaurant

Review 31:This will take some time... This hotel is basically 'FawltyTowers', the staff are lovely, well-intentioned but completely andutterly useless, so bad it actually becomes funny! Got our room bookingwrong, moved us to a larger room but over-looking pool rather thanocean/bay and with no terrace. Had late lunch at the terracerestaurant - great food / half-hearted service. Terrace restaurantwas full for dinner [none of the staff thought to ask us whether wewanted a reservation] beach-level tapas restaurant has actually closed-down - so we couldn't eat at hotel ...had to drive into local townwhich is like Clacton-on-Sea [hideous!] restaurants there all awful.Staff tried to book us into other good local restaurants but all full.So pretty miserable evening. Hotel actually had live music on terracewhen we got back from our Clacton trauma but no tables/nowhere tosit - couldn't even get a drink! Our room was on the same floor andblaring noise from the music/singers kept our young song, & us,awake until late. Breakfast service in the morning was being fielded single-handedly by one guy for all the guests - in the end it took 43 minutesand 13 separate requests to get a tea & a coffee! I am notexaggerating! In the end guests basically gave-up and took to sortingthemselves out. Second guy eventually turned-up after about an hour andstarted working on pretending to care but honestly just laughable. Poolarea is lovely, very nicely done but don't die out there ...no onewill notice, you will just rot until you are dust and blow away! Pleasedo not imagine you are ever going to get a drink out there or anyservice/attention/interest of any kind. Honestly the only thingthat worked properly at this place was the valet parking. Staff were all'lovely', smily, trying to be helpful but ...nothing worked. This hotel is kind of what I imagine a hotel run by my nineteen year-olddaughter would be like ...

Review 32:Very well 'designed' hotel. Terrific pool area, lovely rooftopterrace restaurant with great views over the bay. Very comfortable andwell appointed rooms. Fantastic, cavernous underground parking. Greatfood - when you can get into restaurant!

Review 33:Staff at breakfast are lazy and lack management, Buffet breakfast is much to be desired...as this is not up to 4 star standard. The showers in the room are not well thought of...entire bathroom floods. Restaurant upstairs is not much of a restaurant...

Review 34:Loved the hotel itself, very much a new fancy build, greeted by a lovely helpful young lady...felt very welcomed. Rooms are beautiful

Review 35:we were there in July and the weather was too windy, so we decided to leave hotel sooner. But we come back for sure next time :-)

Review 36:nice location, great view from terrace, everything was great. One of the best hotel I have ever been in.

Review 37:The free Wi Fi is poor.

Review 38:Excellent Staff, attentive and friendly. The location is perfect and the hotel immaculate.

Review 39:Beautiful small hotel right on the Mediterranean. Stunning pool area. Spacious, lovely rooms with private terraces overlooking the beach

Review 40:wonderful location, very nice setting.

Review 41:Service sometimes slow at breakfast to get coffee or utensils.

Review 42:Location & facilities are very good

Review 43:Beautiful large bedroom, sublime bathroom, nice view of the sea

Review 44:nothing

Review 45:everything, Resteraunt ++++++

Review 46:Access down a narrow steep hill was difficult to negotiate

Review 47:Lovely hotel with great views

Review 48:Limited menu in roof top restaurant

Review 49:Rooms Pool/Sun Beds Garaging

Review 50:location, kitchen, swimming pool

Review 51:I didn't like that we couldn't stay longer!

Review 52:- Location was unmatched!- Jacuzzi: We were initially surprised by having to set up jacuzzi appointments, but now understand why. You'll get the opportunity to enjoy the beautiful ocean view from the top of the building with privacy. Very very romantic!! - Restaurant: delicious food and superb service. - Room: very clean (coming from my husband who has borderline OCD), comfortable beds, great view and bathroom. - Parking: parking was very relaxed and easy. It was nice to be able to park right in front of the hotel. - Toiletries: smelled amazing :) - Service: excellent and extremely attentive. This honestly could very well be or easily transition to 5-star status! We've stayed at neighboring 4 to 5 star hotels several times, and this was by far our favorite hotel in the Sanary sur Mer / Bandol area. LOVED LOVED LOVED our stay!!!!

Review 53:A little far from Sanary - car needed. The restaurants are highly priced and overly fancy - it would be good if one of the two restaurants offered simpler food.

Review 54:Beautiful hotel. Truly excellent professional friendly reception staff

Review 55:While the beach doesn't belong to the hotel, it would be great if they could take care of it a little bit.

Review 56:Very nice facilities, would go there again.

Review 57:A little tricky to find. If using gps, try the street adjacent. It isquite a large hotel entrance when you find the right one.

Review 58:Great location, right on the beach on the Côte d'Azur. Lovely viewof The Med.

Review 59:We couldn't get a great wifi connection in our room.

Review 60:Great location, helpful staff, beautiful hotel and really nice spa. We were there in the off season, but I'm sure it's great in the summer with the pool and the beach access directly next to the hotel. Great good for breakfast and dinner. Room was beautiful, very clean.

Review 61:- Lots of noise from nearby train - Tiny room, no room at all for luggage, space for only 4 hangers - Zero privacy, rooms are overlooked from each other, shared terrace means people walk and talk directly in from of your room window, the next building is very close

Review 62:The hotel looks beautiful. The staff is helpful.

Review 63:Nothing really. Advice to travellers, reserve parking in the parking garage as the hotel is located at a steel hill which makes outdoor parking on the street a bit of a challenge. There is enough space in the parking garage.

Review 64:Staff was exceptionally helpfull. The hotel, its room and the whole 'picture'as a designhotel on the water/beachfront of a friendly bay made it a very pleasurable experience.

Review 65:Food options in the hotel very expensive.

Review 66:Room with balcony towards the sea was stunning. Breakfast not cheap but good selection and very comfortable.

Review 67:It's a shame the beach wasn't clean

Review 68:Excellent stay

Review 69:restaurant was fully booked on Saturday night

Review 70:facilities and location are really great

Review 71:Some things about staff

Review 72:The room is very nice

Review 73:beach

Review 74:rooftop jacuzzi

Review 75:nice area, contenporally architecture, very friendly staff, excellent spa

Review 76:only Two rooms occupied and you say the last two rooms on your site

Review 77:Room was very nice and also the restaurant
