Reviews for Hotel Doña Luisa
Review 1:Only a lack of protective parking is a negative and this due to the hotel being right by the beach. You cannot have it all!!
Review 2:Really nice room with good clean facilties, working wifi etc. Very convenient to beach and town for holiday makers. Helpful staff. I will come again.
Review 3:Good location right on the beach front. Good value for money and nice finish in the rooms . Stopped at higher rated hotels which don't have the same finish .
Review 4:I felt very uncomfortable. The chap that checked us in was pleasant but the lady staff at breakfast Made you feel very unwelcome not even acknowledging you when walking in for breakfast or leaving.
Review 5:Asked for double bed but were given twins, even though the hotel was almost empty. We suspect that this was due to us being two females.
Review 6:Excellent location with beautiful sea view.
Review 7:Everything was wonderful.
Review 8:This is our 5th or 6th stay here. An excellent hotel which always delivers on quality and convenience. Breakfast now improved. Bedrooms comfortable. Friendly, welcoming staff.
Review 9:Booked a Sea View Room and got a partial Sea View Room. All of the direct Sea View Rooms were already taken. The Staff did allow me to change to the full Sea View Room the next day.
Review 10:The location was great
Review 11:The location of the hotel is excellent right on the seafront. The paseo is excellent for walking. Sabinillas and Duquesa are within walking distance. Service is very good.
Review 12:Nothing
Review 13:We enjoyed our stay in this hotel. Everything was perfect. Good breakfast, welcoming hosts, good location, near some good restaurants. I really recommend this place.
Review 14:Brown towels
Review 15:This is wonderful little hotel for a base to travel around from Everything was spotless and staff very helpful, it was beautiful to sit on the veranda and listen ro the sound of the sea and watch the beautiful sun rise as photo. Continental Breakfast was fresh and plentiful. We will definitely return.
Review 16:Everything about the hotel was excellent and provides great value for money. The cleanliness and attitude of the staff couldn't be bettered. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the hotel to anyone.
Review 17:One female member of staff did not make is feel very welcome - officious - could have offered us a freshly squeezed orange juice at breakfast without bothering to charge extra (which was removed when I complained). Everyone else was fantastic.
Review 18:Great beachfront location - real Spain local customers - great feel along the promenade at night. Great view from the rooms. Staff were nearly all excellent - very helpful and friendly.
Review 19:The only fault we found was with the shower, although modern, the floor got very wet!
Review 20:The hotel was very modern with a lovely lobby area, small reception area (but big enough) and straight through to bar/breakfast area. We loved the fact that we could eat our breakfast outside and overlook the sea and beach. The hotel couldn't be any better located. The breakfast was much better than we were expecting! The rooms were a decent size, loved the fridge in the room which we made use of and the balcony was a decent size.
Review 21:Rooms at the front can be a bit noisy until 2-3am as obviously people, families and kids enjoy a stroll down the seafront or a meal on the bars and restaurants near by. We didn't mind that much but I guess it could be an issue when you want to go to bed. Cannot fault the hotel or the staff for this though, this is how summer in Spain is, people including us enjoy staying out late in the good weather
Review 22:Direct views and access to the beach. Very helpful staff. Good clean beach hotel
Review 23:The staff did not make us feel specifically welcome; did not explain too much on restaurants when we asked, did not greet too much, not even in the breakfast even though the space is so small you feel you should acknowledge everyone. The reception was even very rude when we were leaving and paying, he did not know how to use our foreign Visa incl. Credit and Debit, and when I explained and he got mad. He did not even say thank you and goodbye to us but stormed out. Very rude "last impression". Only the cleaning lady seemed very friendly.
Review 24:Location, room, bed and view were great! Right at the beach and close to all reastaurants.
Review 25:I booked some time ago and there seemed to be a little mix up with my room and the first room i was offered was very small with no fridge, and i need this for keeping medicin in.I was shown another room which i had to pay a lot more for,my friends had similar rooms and only paid the lower rate.I was a little upset as this is my fourth stay this year and i checked three weeks earlier to make sure all was ok. No fruit now at breakfast time.
Review 26:It was nice and relaxing and in a very good location.
Review 27:they still need to get non slip mates for the baths i had to put a towel in the bath so i did not slip.
Review 28:Good location for a chill out holiday not much to do in the town but there are places you can drive to.
Review 29:The little canteen at breakfast is the same place as the 'bar'. The bar does not in fact exist - for a nightcap they are setting up for breakfast and a last drink is not encouraged by the Barman. Even if it is pouring down with rain outside. With a little friendliness it could be a very fun place.
Review 30:The view from the little canteen/cafe at breakfast and the relaxed attitude to timings of that meal. One didn't have to be very early. The coffee was excellent, the best coffee I have had in a hotel.
Review 31:Breakfast is a little basic , choice of a warm roll with jam or cheese & ham. However its served with good coffee & orange juice and the view from the breakfast room/bar is wonderful.
Review 32:Excellent location , right on the beach and easy walking distance to bars & restaurants . A short walk along the sea front takes you to Dequessa Marina, which has even more choice of eating places. Rooms are very clean, comfortable , with good facilities, a good size and with great modern bathrooms. Fantastic view from the balcony. Excellent value for money.
Review 33:Very dangerous getting in and out of bath/shower needs a handle on the wall and none slip mat for bath.
Review 34:been to the hotel many times always have a good relaxing time.
Review 35:Exceptionally clean Value for money Perfect location; out one door straight on to paseo, beach and restaurants, out the front door into a typical Spanish town with all amenities.
Review 36:Only a very limited continental breakfast which I understood is only during the winter. Other times they have a full continental one with fruit etc.
Review 37:Staff very friendly and my room was lovely with terraces and 2 French doors. Room no.210
Review 38:Day 1: Breakfast consisted of,1 bread roll 1 slice of cheese 1 slice of ham a small glass of orange juice and a cup of coffee. Day 2: 1 bread roll a small jam a small glass of orange juice and a cup of coffee.
Review 39:Unfortunately not my sort of hotel, but others seem to like it.
Review 40:could have done with a double bed rather than two singles shoved together
Review 41:balcony overlooking the beach was wonderful, room spacious and lovely en suite. On the day we left they were in no hurry for us to vacate the room but we were off season.
Review 42:There wasn't much choice for breakfast that was included with the room but this may have been due to the time if year (out of season)
Review 43:The hotel was very clean and very well decorated. Nice sea views and very friendly staff. 20 mins walk from puerto de la duquessa where there are plenty of places to eat.
Review 44:Loud talking early in the morning from within the hotel not sure if this was from reception or another room.
Review 45:Good clean hotel right on the beach front with plenty of good restaurants in walking distance. Good view from the sea view rooms.
Review 46:Could have done a little more for breakfast.
Review 47:Good location right on the beach Comfortable room and shower room. Good value for money. Nice to walk everywhere resturants and bars with cheap prices. Will look to come back next year
Review 48:This is slightly nit picking but some of the staff were not friendly although the cafe staff were very good. The room could do with maybe a picture, a waste paper bin and information about the hotel, ie coffee in room. BUT the location is superb, the bedroom and bathroom well furnished so the above can be forgiven.
Review 49:The location, room and bathroom all excellent.
Review 50:The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cleanliness of the hotel was immaculate. The location was perfect and we especially liked having a balcony overlooking the sea. Although we only had a mini break of two nights we would definitely like to go back there again. We would certainly recommend this hotel.
Review 51:Spacious clean room with a first class large bathroom. Decent balcony overlooking the sea. Adequate breakfast supplied with the best coffee in Andalucia.
Review 52:There was nothing bad.
Review 53:We didn't booked a room with sea-view, and just realized when we were at the check in. The staff was very helpful and we could changed our room even later of our stay when a room with a sea-view freed up. So the staff was very flexible, and nice. The hotel is not looking old any more, I guess it was renovated.
Review 54:Only minor, safe only at reception and not available in room.
Review 55:Perfect location at the beachfront. Good quality, value restaurants all around. Spotless property with very friendly staff.
Review 56:Street parking, not always very close even in September. Drain smells in the bathroom.
Review 57:Close to all amenities..perfect location. All staff very helpful and friendly and spoke good English. Some good day trips within the area...we loved Ronda, Estepona and even Gibraltar was better than we remembered. Would certainly return and recommend.
Review 58:The Hotel is located adjacent to a great beach, with an excellent choice of fresh fish restaurants nearby. It is less 'touristy' than the resorts of Duquesa and Estepona along the coast, maybe not as smart, but much more relaxing. This was our third stay at this Hotel and we will certainly be returning. The breakfast waiting staff were always unfailingly polite and helpful.
Review 59:Breakfast not as good as on previous stays. Self service now, with lots of staff hanging around with nothing to do, so not due to lack of staff. Only a small choice of items, e.g.last time ham and cheese available but none this time. Also wifi connection very poor compared to previous stays
Review 60:Hotel position right on the seafront and close to good restaurants
Review 61:Only gripe...... Second cup of tea or coffee at brekkie would be good...
Review 62:Location..was fab.. Staff were great. My partner fell ill and they were so helpful and kind.. They let us have room for an extra 2 nights as he was unable to travel home, even though they were very busy.. It was not a problem.. Hotel was spotlessly clean..
Review 63:The hotel is a small hotel located in Sabinillas. We realise that we are foreigners in a Spanish town and that this hotel seemed to mainly target Spaniards(as one would expect and which we have no problem with). But we got a definite feeling of being unwelcome. We don't want to give a wrong impression, because they were never nasty to us or anything like that, nor did we expect any special treatment. It's just that unwelcome "foreigner" feeling that we had, that's all. We have stayed in previous years in the Don Agustin Hotel a few metres away,(which surprisingly has only got 2 stars -with us being used to travelling all over the world and using 4/5 star hotels this must only be due to them not having a restaurant)the Don Agustin does not have the same panoramic views as the Doña Luisa but, the owner makes you welcome right from the start and is a true gentleman.- We would like to add that We genuinely do not wish this to be a totally negative reflection on the Hotel itself, it's just that 'unwelcome' feeling that we felt.
Review 64:Excellent views from our balcony.
Review 65:A litlle noicy in the night because of the nearby restaurants. Strange smell in our room...
Review 66:Nice breakfast! High qual bread, yougurt, fresh fruit, cake and juice etc. Right at the beach
Review 67:Steps up to reception front and back.

Review 73:We had two single beds but would have preferred a double bed. No complaints.
Review 74:We thought the Dona Luisa was a gem. We stayed for 5 nights and had a thoroughly enjoyable experience. The hotel was spotless and the rooms clean and perfectly equipped. The staff and the owner were fabulous people and could not have been more helpful or accommodating. The location of the hotel is wonderful and we found a great choice of restaurants and bars in easy walking distance. This hotel deserves to be very highly recommended.
