Reviews for Logis De La Tete Noire
Review 1:Location on a busy road but I had a quieter room at the back with quite dismal view of flat roof and air vents from the kitchens. The smell of cooking was omnipresent even with the windows closed!
Review 2:Very basic hotel; rooms very small but adequate for a one-night stay. Had no great expectations and was proved right. Very clean room and bathroom (but was able to write my name in the dust on the hall door.) Reasonably good restaurant and near all the central sights.
Review 3:excellent restaurant, as well. Terrific meal. Proprietor suggested that we go to the cathedral after dinner, as they light it at night. This was an excellent idea.
Review 4:Even though we arrived late in the evening, the kitchen stayed open for us, offering a delicious dinner after a tiring day on the road. Friendly personnel, and comfortable lodging. Autun remains authentic, unlike many French towns where the beauty of the places is overwhelmed by commercialism. What a beautiful town with a rich history and magnificent cathedral.
Review 5:La Tete Noire staff have a finely judged balance of courtesy , friendliness and respect that made my stay there particularly pleasant. The supper menu offers plenty of choices price-wise and the modest meal I had was tasty and well presented,
Review 6:The town square is given over as one big car park.
Review 7:Big comfortable and quiet room. All of the must see sites around town are walkable from the Tete Noir.
Review 8:Located in a depressed part of town
Review 9:Large, clean room with comfortable beds Very large, bright bathroom with excellent shower Very good dinner Very good breakfast Run by a friendly, helpful family
Review 10:There was no refridgerator and no coffee making facilities. Aside from this, no complaints whatsoever.
Review 11:We travelled to Autun by train from Paris and stayed for 4 nights. We were able to walk to our hotel from the train and to all of the sights, including the Croix de Liberation. We did not have a vehicle for the entire stay. We were especially close to the shops and cafes in the area. We were also quite close to the grocery store. The hotel and restaurant staff were very friendly and most accommodating. As the only anglophone in my French Canadian family, I would say that it is necessary to have at least a working knowledge of the French language to spend any length of time in Autun. However, most people are quite happy to try out their English and so you can get by. The hotel has an excellent restaurant, serving authentic and classic French cuisine. It is highly recommended. The room was large by European standards. The wi-fi was excellent and fast. We especially enjoyed the little cafe "So Crepes". The couple who run this cafe are wonderful and went out of their way to make us feel at home. This is truly a wonderful town, filled with historic and important relics and is worth the visit.
Review 12:Comfortable family room.
Review 13:No parking available unless your lucky at the town centre. Not even a place to park and check in.
Review 14:Location the town.
Review 15:A comfortable stop-over in a wonderful city.
Review 16:Great location next to the busy part of town with plenty of shops, cafes and bars nearby.
Review 17:Decor in bedrooms
Review 18:The food, location, spacious room
Review 19:Air conditioning unit; central; nice room; quiet.
Review 20:yellow bedroom decor was rather garish. Two clashing shades
Review 21:Charming and civilised
Review 22:Small Roms
Review 23:Good breakfast
Review 24:Rooms airless.
Review 25:Great dining.
Review 26:No wall decorations in the rooms. Bare walls give a sparce atmosphere.
Review 27:Very pleasant atmosphere in the restaurant: fresh flowers on the tables; well-kept plants; and good interior design. Plus a good choice of food and good quality.
Review 28:The location a short walk from the wonderful cathedral was perfect; free parking nearby. But the dinner was outstanding. First, an amuse-bouche of cream-puff with shrimp sauce; then splendid steamed salmon in a "beggar's purse" with leeks and chive sauce; salad of apples, pistachios, bleu cheese, lettuce. The tarte aux pommes and pineapple mille-feuille desserts were amazing. Breakfast also superb.
Review 29:Nothing.
Review 30:Staff was friendly and helpful. The food was excellent. I was surprised by our pleasant experience and would stay again without a second thought.
Review 31:No air conditioning and we happened to be there when weather was very hot! We opened windows but had to clse them again very quickly due to nose of traffic. I was sure a Harley Davidson drove right through our room! Result was a very uncomfortable night for the whole family.
Review 32:Great location in lovely town, though dated decor quite quaint, very clean, great bathroom and good value for money.
Review 33:Useful for an overnight stop. Decor and appointments rather dated.Handy lift/elevator. Reasonable free parking nearby. Handy to citycentre. Gps coordinates from booking.com not quite accurate, but foundit in the end.
Review 34:Our room, though clean and comfortable was at the end of a dark corridor, and was on the top floor with a sloping ceiling and a window set back from the room.
Review 35:The hotel was centrally located with good on street parking adjacent. The reception was friendly and the place seemed popular locally judging by the number of people visiting the restaurant, bars etc. The room was clean and the bathroom perfectly adequate for our needs.
Review 36:Decor - everything was clean and worked, but lacked a definituive style or theme.
Review 37:Nice staff, clean room, quality food in the restaurant and reasonably priced.
