Review 3：when I had my shower the toilet area get flooded with water complain to the receptionist at front desk that I would like to change my room she mention that the hotels is all booked can’t help. The curtains were in flirty look with blood stain on them. Also I had 3 bits from bed insects

Review 5：No bistro restaurant. The Korean meal I had was poor. I usually like Korean food. No breakfast area. Common areas not regularly swept a cigarette butt outside a lift door stayed there for days along with an empty cigarette packet. Breakfasts were not timely.

Review 7：1. When a guest asks for a bath towel at 10 am, he does not want to hear that it is not available before 2.30 pm. He wants to get out of that shower and get dry. 2. Breakfast is a boiled egg and a sausage brought to your room. This is not serious.

Review 8：1. Walking distance from city center. 2. Value for money. Absolutely no-frills but clean, so it is good for one night. If you're on business longer than that, go somewhere else. 3. Good television screen.

Review 13：it looked like it was being refurbished with bare electrical wires hanging from the roof in both bed and bathrooms,missing fixtures and broken light fittings in bed.side lamps. No bedding until 4 pm, no face washers or face/hand towels.

Review 17：I ordered a ocean view room .the had a sliding door that didn't lock , so I heard every bus.The patio was never cleaned so a quick wash in the shower was required after a coffee on the patio .The mini bar was checked on my arrival and was 3 beers short and he just said sign here as its short. The reception said on arrival ring in the morning and place your order for breakfast . At 8 am there was a bang and another bang at the door, I opened it and it was breakfast .I looked at it and I thought wow I don't drink chocolate and hate porridge so there was 2 tiny pieces of pineapple and 2 slices of bread with one butter and one jam. Then I asked the staff about breakfast and she said that's it.i said forget its disgusting,,Midday came and the door burst open and 2 staff came into the room mini bar, I said how rude you didn't even knock..I asked the staff every day, as I said my account from bookings states room charge , the 15% vat and 5% city tax. I never received an answer, So im asking the question now as ive been to Suva 30 odd visits and never payed city tax, Would I recommend this hotel . ? .

Review 20：Cleaning service was very poor. breakfast in bedroom was absouletly poor as same things every day and not even on time we requested. there was no english channel nor any indian channel all the channels were their languageeven the magazines were their language. on request they gave a better pillow otherwise they had old pillows. bathroom toilets on requested then they cleaned. their towels were old and not cleaned properly luckily we took our towels. I strongly recommend ten others not to book as its cheap but the quality of servise is pathetic ie is not up to the understand. a very unhappy customer.

Review 27：Hotel needs to decide is it a Hotel or a place rooms to let for the adjoining massage parlour. I assume thats why the phone didnt work..the tv didnt work for my entire 9 days..as people are not in the business of staying in the rooms longer than an hour or two. The hotel is like a beautiful woman who hasnt looked after herself.It could be so good. The Korean sailors waiting in the lobby for ladies were off putting to say the least.Hotel management need to decide which business they want to be involved in ????

Review 28：Fijian Staff were wonderful...helpful and showed me much kindness. If not for them i would have left. As a former NZ Police officer the massage parlour issue was not enough to send me away. I stayed purely because of those lovely Fijian people who worked there.

Review 29：The hotel charges a 5% mark-up on credit card payments, instead of the customary 3%. The service was pretty bad. When we checked in, there was a dirty towel on the floor, and the following day the linen and towels had not been changed. Despite our complaints, we received no maid service that day, other than the removal of the breakfast trays and dirty towels, which we left outside the room in disgust that afternoon. The fairly ordinary breakfast was always delivered late.

Review 31：The hotel was under construction (it was not informed during booking) There was no aircon in the room. TV and telephone was not working. most of the lights in the room was not working. Inside was always dark. And the house-keeping did not clean the room till we complained at 6pm. There was no swimming pool and no cafeteria for breakfast. Breakfast was supposedly served in the room. I asked for 9am but it was brought in at 7am. Cold. Overall - the facilities and staff were all well below standard and I have never stayed in a place like Southern Cross in my entire travels around the world.

T.V. and telephone not in working order from day 1, had to go down 4 floors to talk to the front desk, until we left. 4. High speed free Wi-Fi works at a snails speed. 5. Toilet tissues was of very cheap quality. 6. No safe for safe keeping our valuables, no tissue boxes supplied. 7. The free breakfast given was cold. 8. The view from the balcony was anything other than beautiful.

Review 36：False adverting in terms of daily rates (NZ $ vs Fiji $) The hotel only offered F$1.40 per NZ$1 - banks & currency exchange agencies gave us F$1.49 per NZ$1 - so a big loss. F$156 a day is too exoensive. A far superior and modern Peninsular International Hotel in Suva only charges F$150 per day for a superior room with daily breakfast. Many shortcomings in service at Southern Cross. Room TV never worked. Daily breakfast hopeless. Overall, very poor value for money.

It would be great if milk was provided for the tea and coffee. Food options closer to hotel would have helped. We had to walk down the street at night to the gas station to pick up some essentials. Accessing our suite from the outside was a bit awkward.

Review 95：Old warm charm. We stayed in the presidential suite. The furniture is beautiful. We would love to know who designed it and where we could get some. Not sure if it would make it to Los Angeles. The breakfast delivered to our room was wonderful and helped us get a good morning start. The staff were friendly and quickly brought up another single bed for our 2nd teenager.

Review 96：The establishment next door using up the car park of the hotel. 'Their' visitors and 'their' staff should stay on their grounds, this including them not walking through the grounds of the Hotel to get from their place of residence to their work. It is not good for the clients of the hotel to be expected to put up with this other business that is not a part of the hotel.

Review 97：Excellent location, staff all friendly & informative of places safe to go too. All staff members were extremely work conscious, yet ensured they had the time to be polite and have a laugh with the clients. Thanks for your part to ensure we had a great holiday while in Suva.

Review 99：The flexibilty of the staff with changing rooms when we didn,t like the layout of the original room. The forex desk had very good rates and was open 24 hrs.

Review 100：Room was hot thought they would have cooled the room prior to me coming.I was insulted when i was asked did i have any drinks from the mini bar , when i told her i did not use any she said she needed to check ,basically to see if i was telling the truth.My concern is what if yes what if the person who check the bar and filled it up did not add up the number of beer bottles , she/he made a mistake putting the wrong number on the paper the lady had a the reception, she would have called me a liar, not directly but , i could have seen a problem there. I think you need to re examine the system you have. I hope you understand what i am saying, i just don't want to ever have a problem should i stay there again. I know we should trust our staff , but we should also trust our guests as well .If we want them to come back. Just made me uncomfortable , not so much the checking of the bar use more the worry if the person who counted made a mistake in there count.
