Review 14：Run down hotel, stinks of mould in rooms....we tried to move in different room and were shown a few but all stank the same, rooms not cleaned well, very hard bed, lizard in the room which housekeeping said was harmless and we can live with it! I would rate it a two star and wayyyyyy too expensive for such a shoddy hotel. The front desk staff was apologetic and tried to make our stay comfortable but the hotel needs a complete make over!

I wouldn't pay more than 50$ a night for this hotel. 2- My wifi wasn't working, I called the reception they told me come to the reception we'll fix it for you. 3- Although the scenery is really nice, but it's far from the city, u need to book a tuctuc or taxi every time u need to go out. 4- The room was ok, but towels were too old and not very clean. 5- There's only one restaurant that serves a buffet and that's it, you'd expect a few more for the money (around 410$/ night including taxes) I paid in low season.

Review 42：We got upgraded to a cottage as we were traveling with friends. The cottage was amazing. We had 3 bedrooms, study, dining room, living room two bathrooms, private pool and our own butler. All the staff were very helpful in every way possible. We ate at the main dining area in the hotel on the wonderful terrace overlooking the valley.special thanks to Dulanjalee, who always greeted us with a smile. Will definitely go back

Then I knew it was wrong soI rang my bank and they advised that sl Rupees 97000 was deducted frommy credit card. This did not display when I was booking it onlydisplayed that I will be charged sl rupees 75000. Only bed andbreakfast. Then the casheir told that the taxes are us $ 280 Which wasnot included. The whole thing was a scam. I came from Australia with mybaby and wife and her parents. I was very disappointed with the Taxcharge which is a rip off.

We booked a double bed and were given 2 singles pushed together, when we asked to change, we were informed that the room was an upgrade and to get a double bed we'd have to be downgraded. The wifi constantantly logged us out so was a pain. Unfortunately, this was our worst experience in Sri Lanka.

The wind and sounds can pass from underneath the doors due tothe opening gap, the window was not double glazed, and the sound ofvehicles passing towards the entrance is extremely erritating it alwayscuts off anyone sleeping. I have also noticed that the staff lackedexperience and we're all rude except for the ones working in therestaurant and house keeping. As for the bed linens, I have requestedtwice for it to be changed because it had some sort of stains. Anotherthing I would like to advise the hotel managements is to update andstart some revamp work on the exterior facades, internal roomdecoration, and the toilet fittings. It is extremely outdated ifcompared with the hotels in Kandy city centre. In the toilets, Iconsider having a shower in a small bathtub one of the biggest turn offsdue to hygiene reasons and the extremely limited shower area space. Aperson can flood his/she's feet while taking a shower in amatter of seconds. Another note I would like to make about the toilet,the smell is extremely bad due to the wooden panels used as claddingsfor the bathtub, the wooden doors, and the false ceiling that is filledwith moulds.one thing I almost forgot to say is, the road from Colomboto kandy is extremely bad by world standards. The road is a two way twolane road for almost 200km which might take you 4hrs. If there is ahighway, the journey to Kandy would take only 2hrs. A driver will findvehicles overtaking tuk tuks and trucks for every minute on the road.This is a very terrifying journey experience especially when you have afamily with you in a car.

Instead of giving another room with one big bed, which would have been normal for a hotel claiming to be of such high standard, the receptionist made one big bed from the two simple... Also, after finding a big lizard in our room, a guy came and began to put toxic spray all around the bathroom, on the tooth brushes and towels.... Not very good also...

The rooms on the top floor facing the pool is where we stayed, I would definitely recommend this room to anyone. Although you need to climb a few stairs. But totally worth it. Wake up early to take a walk 1.8kms uphill to a small tea plantation, You can also consider running. We ran and walked, and it was a refreshing morning exercise. The gym and pool are great. Review 115：The food was terrible, you couldn't even get a decent cup of coffee in the morning. We were not expecting luxury, but at least a certain level of quality that is commensurate with the money you are paying and their claim at being a 4.5 star hotel. The AC did not work well, the Wifi was the most annoying I have experienced in a long time, continuously dropping the connection, with spotty reception around a fairly small property. To make matters worse, the AC in our "Suite" had a massive water leak at 2am in the morning, the kids woke up, a lonely technician showed up clueless and after personally assisting him with the leak, it finally stopped. The management's response was to offer me a 50% discount on that particular evening (1 night out of 3), which I thought was very cheap of such an acclaimed facility. The only reason the AC leaked was because it had not been maintained in a very long time. The filter was so badly clogged...which does wonders for the air quality in the room. Did I mention the food was terrible, we ordered a beef satay one evening, the meat was not edible...it was quite unique...pink and well done, hard as a rock, chewy...we ended up debating amongst ourselves if it was meat or a piece of rubber We couldn't wait to get out of the place...very unfortunate

Around 20 minutes Tuk Tuk ride to Kandy Lake: Food is fantastic with options for both the adventurous and not so adventurous. Would recommend going half board as it is in a secluded area with few alternative options (if you are not going into town).
