Review 1：The lift was broken when I left early in the morning - which is fine, it happens but there was no notice on the lift door which was annoying.

Review 2：The bed was comfy. Modern Two showers Wifi was good. Location was really good - near the metro.

Review 3：It does lack the social vibe of smaller, more homely hostels - but as I was working whilst there this wasn't a problem for me. Also breakfast seemed a bit pricey to me, so I bought my own.

Review 4：Absolutely superb and super stylish hostel - if it wasn't for the dorms you'd almost forget it was a hostel to be honest. Very impressive!

Review 6：The mens shower was flooded several times because of a blocked drain. The shower room had a large pile of dirty towels and clothing for the entire week I stayed at the hostel. One of the sinks in the shower room didn't have hot water. Sometimes the finger print scanner refuses to work so you have to try about 30 times before you can enter the room. There are a large number of students learning spanish staying at the hostel, they seem to colonise the common area in a big group which isn't very inviting for solo travellers. This is more a neutral ie not bad point but one to be aware of and that is it's a huge hostel, I didn't realise when I did the booking it's like a giant hotel but as a hostel.

Review 7：The finger print scanners for the doors meant not having to worry about keys / cards. It has 24 hour reception and wifi works in the rooms. It's really modern and the furniture looks new and high quality. It's right next to the Universtaat and getting there using the airport bus is really easy. It's a few blocks away from lots of gay bars, saunas, nightclubs etc.

Review 8：The breakfast is the worse i've got in europe. The air conditicionair doesn't work well. But the worse thing was the securoty: 2 girls were stolen inside the hostel and the receptionist didn't give a fuck. One of the girls got a room key stoled and the attendent said she had nothing to do and the other girl got her bag with money and passport stoled in the hostels bar, by 2 guys and again, the same receptionist couldn't even help her call the police or the embassy. P.s.: that second girl had a flight to Colombia in a few hours.

Review 9：The students staying as guests would leave the common kitchen area filthy ...not the hotels fault as the staff did their best. We cleaned the sink on numerous occasions before using the cooking facilities but the young students would again leave it filthy. There were signs everywhere requesting thoughtful behaviour. Unsure what the solution is but it was most unpleasant for other thoughtful guests to endure

Review 16：Facilities were a bit lacking: although advertised, no kitchen was present, merely a refrigerator and a microwave. There is a bar onsite but it is only open from 07:00 to 12:00 and 21:00 to 24:00 and no outside alcohol is allowed in the hostel. So if you want to cook or have a glass of wine with dinner you're out of luck.

Review 20：The finger print system is very convenient. The location is very good, within the university area and everything is nearby. The best hostel I had ever stayed.

Review 21：The female staff on duty at the breakfast had an bad attitude doing her duty as oberved by her body language making loud noise making everyone turn to her while washing the utensils, pushing the chair etc. The toliets were so dirty, bath rooms left with underwears not collected, empty shower bottles inside the shower rooms for the 1 week I stayed there. Bedrooms are dirty as guys are stil guys that everything just dumped on the floor, not enough hanger to hang tower for drying making the room smell.

Review 24：It is close to Plaza Caluntalia and Ramblas as well as the airbus shuttle bus stop. It has good security device (either a key or finger print) to open your room. It has a locker for each guest. It also provides locker deposit on the basement floor.

Review 40：Location was superb, University Plaza is easy to get to from the airport and most of the other buses go through it. One metro line also passes under it. Design and style of the hostel are welcoming and the place looks newly renovated. Fingerprint keys are a neat addition to the overall feel. Free walking tour pick-up is arranged every morning from hostel with no need to sign up beforehand. The terrace and pool are a cool idea but not very useful in October of course. Overall the place is more than worth the price.

Review 43：The bathrooms were kind of confusing if they were supposed to be labeled for men or women. People smoke on the patio and keep the door open. For a person who hates smoke, that defeats the purpose of having an outdoor space for smoking with the smoke just wafts into the lounge area. Someone ate my apple and eggs out of the pantry area. I would have liked a fruit option during breakfast. The motion censored lights.

Review 49：Where do I start, the unpleasant smell of air freshener in the lobi. at night it's so so loud and disgusting you can't find a quiet place, dirty kitchen and smelly, which is at room shelter- there is no air ,The rooms are very small, there is no private if you want to sleep there is not curtain that covers your bed, there is no peace at all. The room choked! No private at shower, everything is in the room, and you have to wait until the other partners complete with toilet and shower Why there are not more toilet and shower down the hall ??? Very disappointing for those who cares with privacy

Review 53：It was a good experience, good localisation, near to all the facilities, rooms were clean and highly secured with fingerprint reader, but if have to relate one only bad point, i will say that the price of the lockers (the one that you need to keep your luggage the day when you leave just to be accurate),it begin from 4euro for six hours, it will be interesting if there were 3 hours or less, but except that,i advice this hostels.

Review 60：I was recommended by a friend who really enjoyed staying in TOC last summer in a 4 people shared room. We stayed for 3 nights and paid €120+ per night. The room was quite simple and the shower has no water stopper. Every night after we showered the room would be flooded with water because 1. There is no water stopper and 2. There must be some problem with the drainage system because every morning we would be awakened with a faulty smell of sewage in the room. The hostel however is located in a walking distance to city center but next time I would rather pick someplace further for a more comforting experience, especially for that price.

Review 64：Well my bad experience is that I had an accident there and I went to the hospital one night. I felt from the top bed and now I have 10 stitches. At least the staff called me an ambulance. Later nobody knew where was my passport because they kept it. I think that for sure someone needs to make more security precautions in there. I heard from a friend that a month ago also a girl felt from the top bed, so it seems it might be like a common situation in there. I don't want someone to have this kind of inconvenient in the future.!!!! So I really hope that the staff reads this and makes some adjustments to the beds.. In this one and also in the Madrid one. -- Also the staff is rude when asking you to leave the smoking area outside.

Review 78：I didn't like the blanket was not given to you at your arrival, you had to aks for blankets if you needed! and there were not enough blankets! one night I asked a blanket for my new friend and they just said sorry it has finnished tonight! And the towel was for rent! the recieptions were not enough for high seaons and they were not smiling at you cuase they were too busy! at kitchen the staff were watching you and controling your bracelet in a bad way! they were so serious and seemed didn't love their job, not friendly at all. the rooms became so cold with airconditionor and I couldn't adjust the temprature! and there was no one to help me cuase there was always just one or two busy persons at reciption. The staffs were not friendly and not helpful and not responsible enough.

Review 82：The pool isn't as big as it seems in the pictures, but it's good enough to cool down in whilst sunbathing on the terrace. The terrace was sunniest in the morning until about 2pm, and then it was shaded. Worked really well for us.

Review 84：Excellent place to stay with children; a lot of space and a roof pool! We ´lived´ for 9 days in TOC. The trendy hostel is in the middle of the centre of Barcelona, a few minutes’ walk to the Rambla, Raval, Gotic and Borne. The metro station (M:Universitat) is just 100 metres away and makes travelling through Barcelona (Camp Nou, beach Barcelonetta, Parc Guell etc) very easy! We like to recommend this lovely place and will definitely go back to TOC (especially to the family room with our own roof terrace)!

Review 96：This was my first trip to barcelona and the first time ive ever stayed in a hostel. The hostel its self is beautifully decorated, the design and colours are perfect. The location is perfect close to the metro and you can walk to all the big attractions) like placa catulanya las ramblas) The staff were friendly always willing to help you. The dorm room i sayed in was a female 8 bed dorm. The room was very big clean) the showers were clean. The beds are so comfortable.

Review 102：I was overall very impressed with toc hostels after staying with themin both Madrid and Barcelona. The set up in the dorm rooms isexcellent and they have all the extra touches like lighting andcharger points at every bed which are so convenient. The fingerprintaccess worked very well and was great to not have to worry aboutcarrying keys/access cards. The facilities were clean and thelocation couldn't be better.

Review 103：Advertised as having a kitchen but this was almost hidden in the basement whilst the hostel's restaurant was labelled as the 'kitchen'. Had to ask several members of staff to find where it was - they obviously weren't keen on us using it. Very strange. The hostel is also very big and corporate with lots of rules (no eating drinking in dorms, for example)

Review 107：There are a lot of rules eg no swimming with sunscreen on but after a few hostels I have visited these rules started to make sense as people get a bit wild when there are no rules. It would of been nice to get told about the activities going on at the hostel each night.

Review 108：The hotel is exactly like its pictures no tricks. Everyone is very friendly and welcoming. I was able to meet other travellers very easily. The location is in walking distance to everything the shops the restaurants the bars etc. when you enter the hostel it smells so sweet :) Very spacious there's an on site bar perfect for when you are sitting by the pool. I exspecially loved the music throughout the communal areas perfect mix of classics and new music.

Everything is so clean and the common areas are really social and trendy - places you actually want to hang out in! Good location, close to shops but a wee walk down to the beach. Will be back next time I come to barcelona!

Review 110：The whole atmosphere was very chilled out, great people to meet, good coffee and sangria at the bar section and really fancy and arty decor, it was more like a boutique hotel. Common lobby was my favourite section to hang out :D

Review 111：I wish there was a small fridge in the room. it was rather uncomfortable to go down to the hall to try find out your food\drinks in the major fridge's mess. Review 113：The place is very spacios so not as fun as other hostels party wise . Cant drink own alcohol in common area in the evening. There is always a group of 70 or so people doing bartending course and they tend to hangout together and talk about their school a lot. I think kitchen is still under construction as it is very basic.

Review 119：I liked the fact that the rooms had keyless (fingerprint scan) enty so this removed the need to carry a key card around all the time or even lose it. The place had everything a hotel/hostel should have and the breakfast was good. Generally it was one of the best hostels I have stayed in (& I have stayed in quite a lot)

Review 121：Very strict rules, I realize they are there for a reason but we basically couldn't do anything in the room and had to pay a deposit in cash for a sleeping bag sheet that was not specified ahead of time. No blanket in case you got cold either, just the sleeping bag sheet. No activities really planned for people staying there either like previous hostels we have been to, it is a bit of a cold environment.

Review 123：I had to endure the cold air condition which was set at 19 degrees without a blanket on my first night. Went down to reception twice to ask for a blanket and was told they don't have. In the morning when the reception shift changed I asked the morning staff and they told me they have blankets and they finally gave me one. The night staff guy had a very rude attitude.

Review 124：I liked everything about this property. The beds were nice & comfortable, there was a supermarket just across the road and great prices too. Computers, lounge area and the swimming pool were great. A very clean hostel. The bar staff were all amazing and so kind.

Klimaanlage war nur bedingt regelbar einzustellen, viele Kleinigkeiten, wegen deren man jedes Mal zwecks Erkedigung zur Rezeption müßte ( initial fehlende Fernsehfernbedienung, keine Bettdecken, nur 1 großes Laken, dann zwar Bettdecken, aber keine Bezüge...), nur ein! Zimmerschlüssel verfügbar, das Fingerprinttüröffnersystem funktionierte plötzlich nicht mehr.... Frühstück von der Auswahl übersichtlich, viel Verpackungen usw. , überzuckerter künstlicher O-Saft, lustlose, völlig unmotivierte Mitarbeiterin im Service für das Frühstück! Besonders störend ist das fast vollständige fehlen jeglicher Ablagemöglichkeiten im Zimmer und Bad , selbst im Schrank ( eine Borte und genau 2 Kleiderbügel!) behindertengerechtes Bad wodurch nach dem Duschen bei fehlendem Spritzschutz nicht nur das Badezimmer naß ist , sondern auch Spritzwasser vor der Badezimmertür!

Review 131：Privates Doppelzimmer: 5.Stockwerk zum Innenhof gelegen, ruhig gelegen. Recht großes Zimmer, sehr moderne, neue Zimmergestaltung, auch insgesamt alle übrigen Räume des Hauses. Optimal gelegen, Austieg! Aerobus und Metro Plaza Universidad . Rezeptionspersonal freundlich und sehr bemüht!

Review 134：It looks cool but that's it. 2 of the reception staff were unfriendly but others were nice. Guys next doors were really noisy,they jumped,hit the wall,shouted at 4a.m. And the shower booths were nice but the doors were broken(it couldn't be closed) and I had to take a shower without locking the door. I know it's not a hotel but it was not good for me.

Review 135：Nothing, apart from waiting for th lift loool, there's nothing really not to like. If you are in a shared room, be aware people may come home at all hours, I may have disturbed some people coming home late

Review 136：The breakfast was really delicious, the hostel itself is very urban and chic, there's a pool, the staff are great, helped in all situations required, which I might add were many lol. The location is excellent, only a 5 minute walk to la rambla, and the it's along a main road as opposed to an alley way which would be unsafe for young travelling women like myself. There's also a 24 hour convenience store like 2 doors down. There's also a bar downstairs in the lounging area, and a fridge to put your stuff in. The pictures you see on booking.com do not tell a lie, Infact it's even better in person. The beds are really comfy as well, and a great smelling shower gel provided may I add, no like it really smells amazing ahah. Thankyou toc had a great time staying there, will definitely come back xxx
