Review 1：Asked for room with Marina view, was given room on top floor with admitted view but would have been much grander with bigger windows on lower floors. oh well!

Review 3：Room was very small and dark. Should use light coloured furniture in a small room. It was a very basic room with basic toiletries and small thin towels.

Review 5：The ambassador is always consistent and is perfectly situated for spending some time exploring Cherbourg. Taking Charlie our old dog was no problem at all and he enjoyed the lift. Breakfast is great too with a nice view of the harbour... what more can you ask?
Review 6：When going to our allocated room we found it was occupied ,following a very funny conversation in our broken French the situation was put right very quickly with much embarrasment from the staff
Review 7：parking is a bit of a lottery, there is no hotel carpark but there is a 40centimes/hr public car park right next to the hotel but it is always close to full or full (although that was August)

Review 9：A lovely hotel with very friendly and helpful staff - very good location from the ferry port with parking just behind the hotel (Notre Dame Parking) and nearby eateries.
Review 10：The staff were great, with a good sense of humour. The bedroom was freshly decorated and modern. Great value and a good breakfast. There are loads of good restaurants right outside and a view of the Harbour. I will be going back.

Review 16：Lovely Hotel overlooking quay where there are lots of restaurants. Amazingly cheap Car park at rear of hotel which leads to the Town centre shopping.. Love it.

Review 18：The hotel is in a fantastic location and we had a marina view room. Lots of good restaurants and bars within easy walking distance. We went up to the castle on the hill where the view over Cherbourg was excellent.If we return to Cherbourg we will stay at The Ambassadeur again.

Review 20：Location of property was excellent. You will be lucky to get a parking space in the car park around the corner at weekends. Next to the French customs building ,is an overground free car park where you can park your car over night or day time. The hotel is clean and the staff are friendly and good choice of buffet breakfast foods.

Noticed when room maid cleaning other rooms Kettles outside doors ? ? Didn't make a fuss as we were only staying for 1 night but we always have 2 or3 Cups of Tea first thing to wake up

Review 27：The owners and staff were very welcoming and warm,as we had used the hotel on two previous occasions we were made to feel very at home with smiles and a good firm handshake from the owner and a Bon Voyage as we left for the next part of our trip. I would have no problem recommending this hotel to weary travelers with pets.
Review 28：The mannerism of the female staff in the morning on reception, who didn't say thank you and was quite rude about my payment. She said they don't have an account with booking.com and that you only take the fee for booking and that I should pay although my son had given his credit card for this when booking. I just queried this with her and she became quite impolite. Other than that it was great!

Review 31：Staff polite and welcoming, cleanliness foyer,bar hallways and bedroom all spotless and tidy, view from a very nice modern bedroom was beautiful, close to all amenities surrounded by nice walks through the town centre.
Review 32：The two main things I was disappointed with were firstly; the tv didn't have any mainstream British channels such as BBC1 or ITV, only BBC News. Secondly, there are no tea or coffee making facilities in the room only a machine in the dining area which cost €2.50 a drink.
Review 33：The location for me is excellent as I occasionally need to join ships by pilot boat. The boat oprates from the opposite side of the dock, a few minutes walk. The hotel is also very convenient for shops and restaurants. The three staff I had contact with during my stay were all friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean and tidy.

Review 39：We had stayed at the Ambassadeur before and chose it again due to its excellent position and easy access from the Channel ferry. We were even more pleased on this occasion to discover that it had been completely refurbished. A delightful little hotel at the side of the harbour, ideal for getting to and from the ferry or as a base for visiting Cherbourg and the Cotentin area.
