Reviews for Hotel Beauséjour Les Palmiers
Review 1:The room did not have air conditioning and the evaporative cooler made the air in the room feel damp (humid). Shower head needed replacing (getting fussy now!). I was too early for breakfast (needed to leave 07:30).
Review 2:Staff were friendly and open. Location was nice and shady (was hot, so that was nice). Bed was good. Restaurant was right next to my room but it didn't disturb me so that was find.
Review 3:From the moment we drove into the shaded car park we knew we were at home! Then you pass through the eating area and know you've picked the right hotel. Inside is dark but room 4 has a balcony and a quietness to die for! The staff and management are lovely. The musical entertainment on Friday a serious bonus but we ate in every night and can only say the food and their wine list is sensational. If you love French and food look no further!
Review 4:Bernard, the host, is charming and helpful. Breakfast in the courtyard was delicious and the ambiance extraordinary. It was like dining on a movie set. Our dinners there were fabulous. The swimming pool, with a beautiful view is just minutes away, as is the sea. We have traveled extensively in france during the past 30 years and staying at beausejour was one of the best experiences we have had. We plan to return . Highly recommended.
Review 5:Room does not correspond to the description (no balcony, no garden view). Wifi does not work in the room. Room too small and run down, old furniture. Toilet running continously. Tv sometimes turns itself on in the night. Bad service.
Review 6:Close to beach.
Review 7:Our initial impression on pulling into the hotel's car park was that the place was overrun by cats. Hair all over the cushions and an array of bowls on display. There was an unfriendly welcome with no info about breakfast, dinner etc. The room was small, dark and quite frankly scarey! The toilet smelt of stale urine and the bathroom should have been refurbished years ago. The whole place had a bad vibe to it. We paid in full and just left as fast as we could. Please be warned the photos shown on the website are very different from what you acturally get. Do not waste your money on this dump!!!
Review 8:The sea was only a few hundred metres away.
Review 9:The room was very ugly (old and smelly). We found it much too expensive for the quality of the bed room.
Review 10:We liked the garden. Breakfast was nice. People were friendly.
Review 11:may be a bit noisy, rooms though very nice decorated, lack space where to put things (clothes)
Review 12:Very helpful personnel, cosy atmosphere, nice yard and garden, breakfast time is very pleasant - food and serving, live concerts in the evening, location - close to the beach.
Review 13:Small room, dark bathroom, breakfast is the same each morning; can be noisy during the night especially at the weekend.
Review 14:Very friendly staff, in a beautiful environment, close to the beach. The atmosphere is really authentic and somehow you feel you could stay for a long time...
Review 15:Great place where you feel genuinely welcome. It feels more like visiting friends than staying at a typical touristic hotel. I would definitely recommend it to anyone planning to stay in saint Cyr-sur-mer
Review 16:A small hotel with beautiful courtyard, for those who are not looking for luxury but value a relaxed, easy-going atmosphere.
Review 17:Nice, stylish, practical, friendly
Review 18:The restaurant meals were fantastic, the local produce at breakfast and dinner were suburb.
Review 19:Too much noise in the room from other guests rooms. Bed was far too soft.
Review 20:Food and service was excellent. Staff very accommodating. Nice ambience.
Review 21:Would be great to refurbished the rooms
Review 22:Amazing breakfast in nice garden Kind staff Close to the sea Quiet place Good parking
Review 23:Wifi didn't work in our room. No hair dryer.
Review 24:Breakfast, nice served, but could have yogurt or cheese.
Review 25:Great location, cosy garden.
Review 26:It's a very niece place :) but a mosquito net would make it better ;)
Review 27:Great location, close to the beach. Very friendly and helpful owner. Tasty food.
Review 28:Having booked one of the "luxury rooms" (because of thebeguiling photos on the website) we were disappointed to be given a roomon the ground floor ("la lavande") right in the courtyard, with thetables and chairs only a metre or so away from the open window, and other guests walking back and forth past it to the main entrance. The window had to be open to allow air into the room, but there was thenno sense of privacy or security - anyone could just have leant in - andconversation could be overheard. Also, to prevent people from lookingstraight into the room, there was a curtain bunched in the centre of thewindow, which made the room dark and gloomy. The shower room was shabbyand very amateurishly painted, and also dark, with one small window highup. However, the thing that most felt us let down, by this place and itsproprietors, was being ripped off over a bottle of wine: arriving in thelate afternoon, we asked for a bottle of local rosé to drink in thegarden. This turned out to cost 30 euros and was probably the mostexpensive they had. We were not told prices or offered a choice, but hadjust assumed it would be about the same as other hotels had beencharging (16 - 22 euros) for similar wine. This left a bad taste. So,all in all, a disappointing stay.
Review 29:The courtyard shaded by plane trees. However, we didn't knowwe'd be more or less sleeping in it...
Review 30:On first glance the hotel is very atmospheric with a lovely green courtyard. However this courtyard also serves as a restaurant, bar and general entertainment space for the owners. For some guests this may not be a problem but we would not recommend the accommodation for those who have small kids or who want to get a good sleep. If you do stay then ask for a room that does not lead directly to the courtyard. The rooms are small and whilst cleaned each day the bathroom was in need of renovation (mouldy shower and broken cupboards), which was disappointing given the price.
Review 31:The location was very central and the accommodation has good onsite parking.
Review 32:There was nothing we did'nt like about the place.
Review 33:My husband and I stayed 4 nights at the hotel and we couldn't have been happier about the choice. The carefree atmosphere was great! Excellent food (fresh from the sea and the local area) and great music (with a live performance on Friday night). Friendly and helpful staff and the owners, Angela and Bernard, extremely nice and special people. We will gladly return to this hotel!
Review 34:The hotel is a little gem. Beautiful shaded court where breakfast and dinners are served. Dinners are some of the best in town, far above the usual standards of tourist catering. The whole is original and a refreshing change from more anonymous hotels. Finally, the hotel owner and his staff are most friendly and you get a personal treatment.
Review 35:After two quiet nights in this run down out of date old farm we werereasonably satisfied that although the shower had no place to put theshower head and the plaster was falling off it was not a bad place tostay so we decided to eat at their restaurant and this was the start ofof it all going terribly wrong. After being shoved in the corner of a converted bedroom with no natural light we were served with cold average food. As we were leaving early on Sunday I paid my bill in full after the meal and arranged for breakfast at 715 directly with the owner, NO mention of what was about to happen was made and my wife and I retired to our room on the front of the hotel and the boys to theirs at the rear. At approx 1030 we were awoken by music, very loud music! And upon open our window discovered a DJ and party taking place in the freestanding breakfast conservatory about 50 feet from our window. I immediately spoke to the owner who said, sorry but it's a birthday party and refused to give me a time it would end. Then followed 4 hours of base and dance music played so loud the police were called and even with pleas from my wife and I and the police the music remained at the same level. Eventually at 2.30 am we decided to protest by actually sitting in the middle of the party and call the police ourselves. The owner had disappeared and refused to answer his mobile even after 17 calls. At that point they reduced the volume of the music but not the party that eventually came to an end at 3.37 am! This hotel and owner should be avoided at all costs, expensive, crumbling hotel with ignorant and arrogant owner who simply doesn't care one bit about his clientele
