Reviews for Omena Hotel Tampere

Review 1:Air conditioning is not possible to turn off and it is very noisy - so you cant sleep without earplugs. WIndows couldn´t be open. The family room is very small for 4 people.

Review 2:Location is perfect. Room was clean.

Review 3:One of those annoying hotels where the Windows don't open. The first room I went in smelled awful, I had to request to change rooms.

Review 4:Good location, hassle free keycode entry

Review 5:Loud drunken noises and shouts from the corridor round midnight until 03-04 am. Didn't dare to open door to see more. Thankfully and very surprisingly my kids didn't wake up to this. Strong tobacco smell from corridoor into the room. Third floor room.

Review 6:Good location, nice size room, comfy double bed, easy to open extra beds for the kids. Good size shower and a big TV. No street noise, which was nice.

Review 7:The fact that one needs to use a passcode for the entrance and a room. If a passcode is stolen, another individual can easily access your room when you are not there, and you may not even know when your passcode is stolen. It seems that the only precautionary measure is to somehow hide your passcode with your hand. You should bear this thing in mind when you book a room as there is no reception and there will not probably be any safe in the room.

Review 8:The good location, convenient room, thoroughness in choosing appliances for a comfortable stay

Review 9:No staff means that people feel free to behave badly especially noisey parties on Saturday night, And they didn't invite me to join in!

Review 10:Great location and low cost and everything worked without problems including the automated door entry system and notification of number

Review 11:Noise. People running in the hall at 3 am, many rooms booming with music as young people drunk and partied. The room was also cold, not able to adjust the heating. Bad experience.

Review 12:nothing good after being sleepless

Review 13:there was a gang drinking outside the side door which was a bit off putting, also a group that arrived on the Saturday night were screaming and running up & down the landing... not good.

Review 14:The code for the doors stopped working at 11am while it said everywhere that the checkout is by 12:00. So when we could not enter after breakfast it was quite disturbing.

Review 15:Great location, comfortable bed to sleep.

Review 16:Room was really cold at 1st night. I had to sleap with pullover and trousers. Next night was a little bit warmer. Fridge was too warm. I don't know was my yogurt good anymore.

Review 17:Excelent location. Room was really quiet (I ask room from quiet place). In the room was microwave, coffee and tea.

Review 18:The hotel itself does not look so attractive from the outside/inside. However, this is the concept of a hotel without a reception.

Review 19:The location, just 2 minutes from the train station and also close to the university (10 minutes by foot). I also liked the easy check-in / check-out system, the bed was comfortable and the room spacious.

Review 20:There is no everyday cleaning since it's not a regular hotel. It's an apart hotel and they just put towels that should be sufficient for your stay and that's it.

Review 21:There were no taff and it was a little bit weird. I'm not used to that yet. I really enjoyed my stay though

Review 22:The cleaning level was very low (dusty room, no cleaning or bed sheets change service within 5 days). The room was dark and cold. The toilet was smelly, air conditioning was not adjustable. They offer you a bottle of hair conditioner, soap and shampoo (3 in 1) which had very low quality. The WiFi service had a lot disconnection.

Review 23:The location is very central, convenient for transportation by bus and train. Big LCD TV, kettle, hairdrier and a little fridge are furnished.

Review 24:Stayed there in late September. Morning temperatures were in the 40s, so quite cold. The heat did not work. There is no staff at the hotel. Customer service (79cts a minute from the phone, the courtesy phone in the lobby only worked half the time) lied to me about the heat working in another room and relocated me. Later they admitted that the heat was off in the entire hotel and there was "nothing they can do". Refused to cancel my second night because the deadline had passed. Everyone else at the conference stayed at hotels that did have heat. So my advice: avoid this place. They are unable and/or unwilling to solve any problems -- but will happily take your money. Overall, a very bad experience.

Review 25:Location is good for business downtown.

Review 26:Dust everywhere in the walls, ceiling, furniture / floor and also stains of either spilled drinks / spit / saliva or other substances visible on the walls. The room smelled very stuffy and we couldn't open the windows at all. There also was a couple of hairs in the midst of the bedsheets. During the night there was a lot of ruckus in the corridor that woke us up, banging and shouting by drunken men. The doors are really hefty and let all the noise through.

Review 27:Location / entry & exit from the building was quick and easy.

Review 28:Air conditioning blowing though i don't need and no possibility to stop it.

Review 29:Close to pubs, restaurants, and the railway station. Bus available as well.

Review 30:4pm check in

Review 31:SMS door code makes it very easy, the room is very self contained, good shower, beds and television. It feels like a hotel that is very efficient, not wasteful and I'm into that!

Review 32:Great hotel! Will definitely book into the Omena Hotel in the near future - even on my own! It totally influenced my whole experience in Tampere, and some what made the whole experience complete.

Review 33:It would be much better to clean the room (floor and garbage bags) every 2-3 days, NOT 5!

Review 34:Brillian idea - keyless system! Wonderful room. Quiet place. Sufficient noise insulation. We got all that was promissed and some extra. It was so nice to find tea-coffee in the room!

Review 35:This hotel is responsible of my sorethroat and fever the day after. Why should you be forced to have airconditioning inside the apartment making a temperature around 20/22°C. I want more or at least give us the chance to stop them !. Sleeping after shower with such temperature made me sick. Outside there were a lovely 26°C but windows cannot be open. And the fans putting air condition inside the room are also very noisy by the way. Very disappointed. If this point can be changed otherwise ratio price/qaulity is good, otherwise they will not see me again.

Review 36:The fact of being without reception didn't bother. Code system was OK.

Review 37:You could hear other people in the hall. No parking.

Review 38:Big room. Easy check-in and check-out. Clean room. Good wi-fi. Great with refrigdiator, micro and boiler. Bags with instant coffe, sugar and cream. Good value for money

Review 39:I didn't like that I didn't have the option to adjust the ventilation power in the room (it was noisy <and cold-ish>). ALL the rest was great!

Review 40:The room was a bit chilly (the floor felt cold with no carpet) and there was no possibility to change the room temperature. No possibility to open the windows. No nightstands by the beds. The double bed composed of two single mattrasses.

Review 41:The location of the hotel was super. The room was clean and decent. There was a kettle and tea and coffee making possibility (free of charge) in the room. There was also a microwave and a small fridge in the room.

Review 42:Nothing

Review 43:The rooms are very big so there's plenty of room for activities. The mircowVe and bar fridge are a good idea. The bed was very comfy and not squeaky at all. We also believe the room was very well soundproofed.

Review 44:Nothing - what they offer is clear and transparent.

Review 45:Unbeatable price, clean and spacious rooms, central location, and good WIFI connection. No thrills but that you know in advance.

Review 46:I first booked one night and later booked an extra night. Apparently it wasn't possible to let me stay in the same room so i had to leave at 12 and had to walk around with my suitcase for 4 hours until I could check in again. I called three times to see if there was any possibility to stay in the same room and leave my things, but with no result. Since all the rooms are the same I don't understand why it would be impossible to stay in the same room. Bad customer service in my opinion.

Review 47:The room was very cold for me, and there is no way to adjust it. And a warning for fellow travellers: 15 minutes before checkout time I received a message to the TV screen that my key codes are not anymore valid. Luckily I had returned to my room 5 minutes before to pick up the luggage. They should warn that the real checkout time is not 12:00 if the key codes finish working before.

Review 48:The location is perfect, easy to walk anywhere in the city centre.

Review 49:It was just a bit unexpected, that there is no personell and the door code was sent to the e-mail a day before. But what of I would not have smart phone, inernet and access to my e-mail. Just be ready for this. On the other hand, everything (the door code) worked very well :)

Review 50:Perfect location, just in the city center, everything is in a walking distance. Clean, nice, quiet. We had good sleep. In the room you have equipment to make a coffee or tea in the morning and microwave owen.

Review 51:No ventilation, no temperature control, we were hot, and could not open a window or change the room temperature. Also there is no fan in the bathroom to deal with steam. There was no place to like a cupboard or closet to hang or place clothing.

Review 52:Location was perfect, lots of places to eat near the hotel. The price was right.

Review 53:For me it's very bad that we couldn't open the windows. It's necessary to refresh the room every day. And the fridge didn't refresh enough.

Review 54:location and price

Review 55:The occupants of the other rooms disturbed us because of being noisy in the corridor. After a couple of strong words all settled down and it was not enough to affect a possible future stay

Review 56:It was convenient for the city and though basic, it was clean and equipped for our needs.

Review 57:I like the location because it's along Tampere's main street. The train station is just 2 minutes walk. Rooms are clean and the bed is comfortable. All the things I need were there.

Review 58:The night was parrly very noisy, when poeple returned from party.

Review 59:Clean rooom on very good location in city center. There is no reception, so carefull read received SMS. In lobby you can find computer which help you find nearby parking place.

Review 60:Room was very little, closed and depressing, you cannot open the windows. Bathroom 'container' in the middle of room is awful, it smells disgusting.

Review 61:It' in the city center.

Review 62:not perfect sound isolation... neighbors were doing some noise and its a bit annoying.

Review 63:for its money it is a very good hotel: comfortable, clean, well-equipped

Review 64:No problems, but make sure to have your door code from email...room is prebilled, wonder about free canx policy.

Review 65:Location, priced is good for what you get. Very clean. Internet worked fine

Review 66:Room was looking bit worn out, bathroom had unpleasant smell and wasn't so tidy, didn't feel so comfortable to stay, room was cold and no possibility to change the temperature.

Review 67:Good location if no need for parking, ok place for just sleeping.

Review 68:Has no reception. Didn't get any email the door code to enter the property. Caused hassles to enter. Should advise any problems beforehand.

Review 69:size of the room

Review 70:Check in time a bit too late to enjoy the day (16.00). Air conditionning on with no command from the room and no chance to open any window (got a flu for that). Tea boiler not working. Noisy bed.

Review 71:Very good position, on Hamenkatu, 5 minutes by walk from railway station

Review 72:Only the check in time. The rest is very good

Review 73:I like the room. Internet & very near to train C in Tampere. Good price. Only check in time too late 4 pm was too late.

Review 74:Microwave kettle and fridge very good.No plates or utensils. We had some,so no problem.

Review 75:Bus from airport stopped 150 Mtrs.from hotel(outside railway station)Stayed at beginning and end of holiday.Location for bus and train was perfect.Room very clean.

Review 76:You can hear everything! Feels like the bus drives through your room. Request the backside! Checkout time is 12 a.m. If you want to get in at 12.01: you won't! Door's locked.

Review 77:Price was fine. Location of the hotel.

Review 78:room was very warm and slight problem of ventilation. there is no reception so we could not keep our luggage. one locker is there but you cant access that outside your booking hour, i.e. no use. no daily cleaning or maintenance. as there is no staff, there is a problem of safety because anybody can reserve and get in. it is suitable for young students but not for families.

Review 79:location, facilities

Review 80:The location is great, and whilst its by no means a 5 star hotel, its very clean the rooms are very spacious and the location is great. The kitchen is only a microwave and fridge but there is plenty of places to get all kind of foods just outside the door, for the value I would recommend this to anyone

Review 81:Took us an hour to find out that there was not reception and how to get in, had phone and get details resent to us since booking.com masked the information with another 10 emails Check in an out times are not consistent with other European hotels (2pm-12am) Omena Hotel in Helsinki was not consistent with Omena Tampere. We could store our luggage at the hotel in Tampere but not Helsinki

Review 82:great location value for money clean room Wifi Very nice service (over the phone)

Review 83:No table lamp for reading at the table.

Review 84:Sufficiently large room with a very regular arrangement of furniture, constantly clean air (there is a well-functioning ventilation in the shower room and in the living room, in the cold was quite warm and comfortable. Excellent free internet. There are clear instructions on connecting to the Internet and other services in Russian.

Review 85:Windows couldnt be opended. only Plastic Spoons and cups available, knives and plates at least would be expected.

Review 86:First - there was a Bible next to my bed!! Microwave and Waterboiler - perfect!

Review 87:Great place in the center of Tampere. Nice, clean and comfort room. Fully automated access, so you can arrive any time you need. On Christmas you can park your car near the hotel :)

Review 88:No reception, a code is given to access the building and the room

Review 89:Location, fast free wifi and even a microwave in the room that can be used to heat up some food

Review 90:Location. Main street, 5 minutes walking from train station. WiFi. Good signal. Room. Big room, nice bathroom, kettle and microwave and a table with chairs in the room, so even when I was on my own I could enjoy time and food at the room

Review 91:Room was prepared for two people even though I booked for three people. There is no way to reach the staff because they don't exist. Rooms are not clean and a lot of weird people go in and out of the place. There was even an alcoholic couple having fun on the stairs

Review 92:Location

Review 93:Easy booking, perfect handling, the room has everything it should have. Good location, only two minutes from the central station and in the heart of Tampere.

Review 94:Hot water was not working in the shower. We called the staff and they proposed us two different solutions for the following day, but we never got contacted again.

Review 95:Position.

Review 96:Stinking a lot. Because somebody peed in the entrance. I don't like that code key is the same for downstairs and upstairs. can be dangerous, if outside people check the code then they come in

Review 97:Price was ok. You basically pay what you get. Location was absolutely great.

Review 98:they didn't clean the room and change the towel. there's no frontdesk, so we can not request anything. it was so so cold. heater was not working

Review 99:location. closed to center we can be there by bus from airport. it was very convenient.

Review 100:- there is no staff, no reception. If you need ironing, or loundry, there is none - there is microwave oven and electric kettle in your room, but no dishes, take your own or buy plastic

Review 101:- excellent location - calm rooms

Review 102:Pillows (not the cases, but actual pillows) were FILTHY, suspicious stains on curtains, fridge inoperative (though quickly replaced by staff), clunky reservation system

Review 103:Excellent location in Central Tampere, relatively quiet rooms, responsive helpdesk staff

Review 104:nothing, what my concern was if my door code does not work during the night, will I be abşe to get immediate help, but everyhing was okey, except the door code break out of the main gate

Review 105:cleanless, location

Review 106:Guest of 4 but only the double bed provided with blanket, pillow, bedsheet n towel but none for the folded bed. Feels so bad because i make the reservation for my friends rooms too.

Review 107:The security is good, feels save.

Review 108:The check in is Too late 4 pm. No possibility to leave the bags anywhere. No staff to ask.

Review 109:The location is Ideal, so close to the station. The room is quite big and the bed soft and comfy

Review 110:.No window can be opened, that's why i felt like being in a cage. The constant noise of the air conditioner made me a bit uncomfortable. It is good to have micro wave and a fridge and a kettle but there should be a spoon, a fork and a knife as well. Should be cleaned more often.

Review 111:The location is excellent. It is in the centre of the town and everything is walking distance. A lot of big shops are right next to the hotel and there are some restaurants around the hotel, too. The main railway station is not far away. The security is excellent, too. The hotel is quiet.

Review 112:the shower did'nt seem very clean Somebody followed me when I made my code outside and I did'nt feel very safe. I stopped and waited he went before me.

Review 113:this room in red, the big beautiful screen television, the big space of the room. And it was very quiet.

Review 114:Not being forewarned that there would be no reception staff. Arriving and knowing which entrance to go to and that the Help Desk would be available by phone would have been helpful, as I spent some time trying to locate reception at both entrances!

Review 115:Accessibility to shopping centre roomy apartment, very quiet good facilities accessibility to buses and trains

Review 116:There were a few hairs on the toiletseat and the showerhead had a lot of chalk on it. These are small things but need to be taken care of.

Review 117:The location is perfect inside the city centre and it was easy to get in and out anonomously

Review 118:Everything run by codes and the 24 desk was not at all helpful. Nowhere to ask questions. No way to control the room temperature and it was freezing.

Review 119:The room was spacious and all the necessary things were there.

Review 120:The air conditioninf could not be switched off and it was not smelling good in the bathroom.

Review 121:The hotel is located in the center of Tampere. The rooms are very big.

Review 122:No in-house parking, must use some other (e.g. at Railway Station or Koskikeskus mall).

Review 123:Simple concept. You can get in at any time with your PIN-code (there is no stationary personnel). Place is clean and neat. Free internet, yay!

Review 124:Bring earplugs if you have a room towards Hämeenkatu. The traffic noice can be disturbing.

Review 125:The location is simply perfect and the room was spacious and clean. We also liked that it was easily accessable and no time had to be wasted on check-in procedures. We bought our breakfast the evening before and had a relaxed breakfast in the room.
