Reviews for Hôtel De Londres

Review 1:Friendly staff cleanliness and calm location in a great town with loads of character. Very safe location with nice locals and the hotel is near the train station so day trips with public transport to other parts of the riviera are easy and affordable.

Review 2:The room was good value, for a Menton hotel, so I'm not really complaining that it was so tiny. We could hardly walk around the twin beds, certainly no room to pull them apart.

Review 3:Brilliant location, friendly staff, great outside courtyard, and only a block away from the beach.

Review 4:Fairly expensive for a no-breakfast rate, but room was worth it.

Review 5:Superb, newly-refurbished room - large, spotlessly clean and with a small balcony. Beautiful bathroom and separate toilet - very handy for a family of four! Great location between railway station and promenade.

Review 6:The wifi didn't work, which a real kick In the Charlie Browns for aninternational traveler

Review 7:Excellent value for money! Right off the beach and close to restraints.

Review 8:The room was very average, the shower was very very small and it was very obvious that the room was a previous storage area reconverted.

Review 9:It's just next to the beach and close to the old town centre

Review 10:the bathroom and particularly the toilet were really dirty and stained, the towels were not changed or replaced, no replacement of the basic toiletries once used, I had to disinfect the toilet seat as it full of yellow disgusting stains

Review 11:The room was the corner largest, the breakfast in the garden is the highlight of the stay, the reception desk staff is nice

Review 12:Apart from the location, there is nothing much to like about this hotel. This was the first time I changed a hotel during my stay, because it was so uncomfortable. The room was very small, two persons could hardly walk inside the room, only by taking turns. Internet was not working at all, they had it fixed only after 5 days! There was tiny tv and no fridge which is very uncomfortable in summer.

Review 13:Location is great, bed was good, shower and toilet clean and normal size

Review 14:The room is very small. The hotel staff barely speaks English. WiFi worked terribly with constant disruptions. During some days it was simply disconnected. Room cleaning always started after lunch during the siesta time, so we were not able to relax and have a rest. I have seen such a strange hotel practice for the first time in my life.

Review 15:Great location, very close to the beach.

Review 16:Great location to the beach, friendly staff and pleasant room on top corner of hotel. Hotel was a little tired but overall we had a lovely stay for three nights. A nice rustic french garden area for drinks or breakfast out front. Set off the street so not noisy. Short walk to beachside restaurants. Good proximity for the Monaco area, short drive to Italian market towns. Eze is a must see medieval village nearby.

Review 17:The hotel is very well situated, one road back from the front so fairly quiet. Very attractive garden, blackout curtains in the bedroom. Short walk to beach, post office and tabac. Fruiterer, butcher and patisserie almost next door. Staff courteous, tidy and cheerful.

Review 18:A Pearl in Menton. Nice, Close to center of Town and 50 meters from the beach. Friendly staff and perfect restaurant in the garden at the front of the hotel.

Review 19:Although information on booking.com indicated that hotel could arrange for parking, no parking was available. It proved very difficult to find a spot to park the car nearby (3 hour max. parking meters in most streets around the hotel). Breakfast service was awful: tables not ready when arriving for breakfast, limited choice of bread, charcuterie and cheeses, constantly out of supply (bread, coffee,...), and this for four days in a row! Very small bathroom

Review 20:Perfect location, close to town and beach. Nicely renovated rooms

Review 21:One minor gripe was the wifi speed and connectivity. This should be upgraded. However this wouldn't stop me using this hotel again.

Review 22:Location good for all amenities. Hotel was clean and staff where friendly. Excellent value for money.

Review 23:Nothing much bad, very minor things like view out of one of the bedroom windows was a bashed about wall of the neighbouring property. Room not spotlessly clean, mark on duvet cover. Parking can be tricky. It can be booked.

Review 24:Staff always made you feel welcome, very friendly. location good an easy walk into old town & harbour.

Review 25:Nothing

Review 26:Excellent location, The best breakfast we had in Southern France. Very helpful staff. Compact , comfortable rooms and lovely garden to relax in

Review 27:A fridge would be nice. Small but cosy room.

Review 28:Great location for beach, restaurants and train station. Train to Montecarlo takes fifteen minutes for two euros! Lovely city, friendly people. Quiet and a block from the beach. Good airconditioner.

Review 29:Breakfast replenishment was a little slow and required the staff to be alerted. Also scrambled eggs were unavailable on the last 2 days with no explanation offered when requested.

Review 30:Good location, very clean, quiet and not stressful at all.

Review 31:Can be noisy at night which is due to the convenient location.

Review 32:Easy to find and a short walk from beach and restaurants. Good free parking in the street nearby. Nice variety of food at breakfast - lovely to sit in the sunny courtyard.

Review 33:Comfortable, well appointed rooms in a well located hotel with a pleasant and very helpful staff. The shady, flower- and birdsong- filled courtyard alone is worth the (very reasonable) money.

Review 34:Staff very pleasant but from previous reviews i thought they would speak and understand English. No balcony on rooms and seating area in garden a bit small at busy times. Breakfast very basic for price. Had to ask for place settings every day and after 9am had to ask for food to be replenished.UK

Review 35:Comfortable and close to beach and town

Review 36:Booked with parking in advance (mentioned in booking.com reservation) but at our day no parking was available. Got a parking 1 day later but was ok. otherwise you can book on the street but you have to pay from 9h in the morning

Review 37:Great cozy nice rooms, good friendly staff, great location, clean, cool bathroom.

Review 38:Not a bad experience. The A/C was a problem in our room but they quickly moved us to another one. The street is busy, but hey! What do you want in France - atmosphere!

Review 39:The staff were brilliant. They were so warm and welcoming and nothing was too much for them and, believe me, we asked a LOT of questions. The location is right across the road from a beautiful, long beach with delightful restaurants to sit out and look at the sea. Both train stations and bus stations are within a 5 minute walk. They offered a full or rapid breakfast and you could sit our in the garden and enjoy! It was quiet and quant.- Just what we were looking for

Review 40:The room was really small and it almost made you feel claustrophobic. Also, my daughter had to sleep on a fold-out bed, which was not mentioned when we booked the room. Breakfast is at an additional cost and you can get better food for less at a boulangerie in town.

Review 41:The staff was helpful and the room was really clean.

Review 42:No to much information. On Parade Day we spouse got information about close the streets. We haven't chance to find parking for car.

Review 43:The staff is very nice. Great location. Very close to city center. Nice toilet and big bed.

Review 44:Parking can be a problem. It's best to try and reserve a spot in a nearby garage. Small, compact cars are best if renting one.

Review 45:We loved the pretty well-kept garden in front of the hotel, so the rooms & entrance were off the main street. It was quiet and peaceful. The hotel is just one block away from the Riviera and the lovely promenade. The staff spoke English and were very friendly!

Review 46:You can hear everything around you. The neighbours in the rooms next by and every evening the slam doors in the hole hotel.

Review 47:Perfect Location ... quite nice place but not inside

Review 48:Extra charge for dog, when I had already notified the hotel I was bringing a pet. No help with luggage. Staff not interested. Breakfast OK but coffee awful.

Review 49:Location is great, 50 yards from the sea. Parking right outside is a big plus (metered). The room was really quiet, as requested. The price was good, nearly half what I paid last year when I arrived without booking in advance.

Review 50:no negative points at all, a real gem

Review 51:Staff - friendliest i've ever met Location - perfect Rooms - clean and quiet Bed - super comfy One of the nicest small hotels i have stayed in

Review 52:The dinning and bar area was a bit tired but we were informed they were in the process of a refurbishment for the next season.

Review 53:This family run hotel was relaxing with friendly service. The location is just one street away from the sea front with easy walking distance to shops, the old town, market and harbour.

Review 54:Hotel was close to the train station and also within easy walking distance of the old town and restaurants. Breakfast was good with a selection of fruit, cheese, breads and pastries, as well as various herbal teas. I had a very relaxing stay here

Review 55:Very Expensive Car Park charge excessive Bed rather soft Noise & Smell from kitchen during the night

Review 56:Location Car Park inside hotel Chocolates on bed on arrival

Review 57:Some noise in the front rooms because of traffick

Review 58:Very nice modern room. Very nice and soacious bathroom with wonderful shower. Clean. Big windows full of light. Recent renovation in the rooms nicely done.

Review 59:Stayed in late September by which time the bar didn't seem to be open. Admit I didn't ask but general ambiance in reception not that inviting anyway. No restaurant, breakfast typical of hotels at this level, quickly forgotten. Don't agree with other reviewers, thought the hotel noisy, room entry doors a particular problem which can be annoying in the small hours. My room on top floor with 'garden view' which actually means the patio at the front of the hotel. Shower in the adjoining room sounded as though it was in the same room.

Review 60:Hotel is in a good location, close to the sea front, staff friendly and helpful. Wifi worked when I needed it. Room had been refurbished in recent past. Well presented and kept clean during my stay.

Review 61:Not much. Perhaps a bit more hanging space in the bathroom but that's being picky.

Review 62:A well run family hotel based near the sea front and within easy access of Menton old quarter, train and coach stations. Well equipped comfortable rooms, cleaned every day. The breakfast was plentiful and fresh. We even had fresh coffee and croissants when we were leaving at 5.30 am on our last morning. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend to anyone who wants to explore this delightful corner of the Cote d'Azur.

Review 63:excellent position, very comfortable beds, good rooms as unable to hear anyone else, very close to the sea, extremely charming staff infact could not have been better.

Review 64:breakfast terrible.cereal had sugar in it ,and no other cloice, fruit salad was hard.cheap orange juice,so all that was left was dough in form of bread cakes and croissants.not worth 10 euros.you can eat out cheaper and better.hotel located well for station but not much else.

Review 65:clean and comfortable for short stay

Review 66:Nothing but praise.

Review 67:Excellent location for the beach and the town. Set back from the roadto give the hotel a pleasant and quiet setting. Rooms clean andadequate. Staff friendly and helpful. Breakfast good quality and valueat 10 Euros.

Review 68:Nothing -it was perfect for us.

Review 69:The hotel location couldn't have been better for us-2minutes to the beach and lots of beach side restaurants yet quiet and peaceful. The staff were all very helpful and friendly and although the room was a little smaller than I expected it had everything we needed-comfortable beds, excellent air con unit and large en suite shower room. Breakfast was also fantastic & you could eat as much as you wanted from a wide range of fresh breads, fruit etc on the buffet. Also a lovely shaded garden to sit in when it got too hot elsewhere!

Review 70:Size of the room was very small and the photographs on line a little deceptive. Outside space not really used, this included the outside bar, hence spent most evenings in the town. View from our room was not great despite asking for a balcony so again no incentive to spend any time in the Hotel other than to sleep.

Review 71:Clean rooms, really helpful staff and the perfect place to explore the cote d'Azur. Breakfast options were ideal albeit plenty of 'french street' style options too.

Review 72:Parking is a real headache here. There are basically 4 roads which you can park on for free all day - if you can't get a space you can park on another road but only for 3 hours. It can be stressful!!!

Review 73:We had the family suite which was very comfortable, gorgeous bathroom!

Review 74:Would have liked a balcony to sit out on and a fridge to keep some drinks cool in The room was quite small and difficult for two people to move around in. The breakfast was expensive at 10 euros

Review 75:A comfortable bed ,good air con system and a view of the sea

Review 76:WiFi not particularly effective. One room pretty small.

Review 77:Good location for Menton, rooms were well equipped with new fittings. Generous portions of rum served in the bar. Free pool table a bonus

Review 78:We have just had a great stay at the Hôtel De Londres. The hotel was in an ideal location for us, just across the road from the beach and a short walk from the station, which was useful as we used the trains every day. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean and modern with a great bathroom and comfortable beds. The air con was much appreciated! We also loved the breakfast, plenty to choose from and much better than the choice in other hotels we've stayed in. Will definitely stay here again.

Review 79:the room was sort of ok. But bedsheets were not clean enough, W.C. was dirty, and the room had no fridge at all. Being mostly an holiday locations I would wexpect to have the minimums for a longer staying. I would add that it was quite noisy, but that would be a minor point.

Review 80:the location

Review 81:Parking, but this not exclusive to this hotel. The staff clearly explained the situation and assisted in finding a public parking space nearby. It wasn't that big of a problem.

Review 82:The rooms were of fair size and clean. The Wifi coverage was fine. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The beach is essentially across the street.

Review 83:The car parking was 4 blocks away, there was no fridge in room but otherwise we greatly enjoyed our stay and will def return.

Review 84:The staff, the price, the location, the room

Review 85:We decide to upgrade the room while we checked in to room with garden's view. The room was amazing, we liked the view. The location was wonderful and close to the center and the sea. The parking was free on the side's streets.

Review 86:None, so far.
