Reviews for Cerise Carcassonne Nord
Review 1:Wifi did not work with cellphone except in lobby. Their version of free wifi in room is 5 years old and technology has stopped using Ethernet on portable devices
Review 2:Kitchenette
Review 3:Very weird building. Bed was a pull out couch. Breakfast was 9 euros and not worth it at all. Don't buy the breakfast! It's not a very nice place but it's a cheap place to stay. Also - nit picking but whoever designed the stupid plastic keys needs to rethink.
Review 4:Cheap. Friendly staff.
Review 5:Second time we have stayed here this year and we received the same high level of service that we received on our first visit. Nothing is too much trouble and the staff are extremely attentive to the customers needs.
Review 6:Not very central (though it is a 5 min. car trip to the centre). Reasonable matress. WiFi only at the lobby or corridors.
Review 7:Good value for money. Free parking lot. Swimming pool.
Review 8:I would have preferred if the mattres would have had protector on, as ours was stained. You definitely need a car if satying at this hotel.
Review 9:the parking and the access to the hotel from the motorway. Easy to get to Carcassone.
Review 10:The name of the hotel was not the same as the name of the hotel we booked on booking.com. It had recently had a name change, this confused us when looking for the hotel!
Review 11:Very helpful and knowledgeable staff, gave info on bus to Carcassonne. Very easy to catch bus into town.Spoke excellent English. Our kids made good use of the outdoor pool.
Review 12:Wifi works only in the lobby. There is, however, LAN connection in the rooms.
Review 13:The staff is really friendly and helpful. The rooms are spacious and air-conditioned. The kitchenette is fully equipped.
Review 14:WI-FI!!! The Wi-fi is available only in the common area, NOT in the Rooms. This is their normal rule. However, you can plug your computer to the Internet in the rooms, via cable. However, lack of WIFI in the building is kind of... last century.
Review 15:It's an ok, correct thing. Everything is pretty old and battered, but serves the purpose (think typical student-like summer camp facilities).
Review 16:We were 20min late for check-in because of being stuck on a motorway for 2.5h. I didn't pay attention that the reception closes at 9pm. Make sure you call them if it happens to you, otherwise you may end up sleeping in the car. We were "lucky" to catch the receptionist just about to leave. She was in a rush, gave us the key and that was it. I didn't get any internet connection details, so can't really tell if it was decent or not. Once in the room we found out that a cleaner didn't leave any toilet rolls. But as everything just shuts down at 9pm, there was no one to ask for it. The next morning I tried to speak to another receptionist about it, but as expected she didn't speak a word in English, so I just left it in the end.
Review 17:Spacious rooms, nice kitchenette area, unfortunately we didn't have time to use it. Everything seemed clean and well organized. Free parking spaces next to the hotel. Not a bad place to stay, I think. Apart all those small things I mention in minuses.
Review 18:Only one thing, wi-fi coverage could be better.
Review 19:Easy to find, friendly staff, roomy for French hotel, close to shops, restaurants and attractions. Plenty of hot water 24/7. Air con nice and quiet. Pool a real bonus for a budget hotel.
Review 20:Location could be a problem if you don't have a car. It is on the outskirts of the town. Wifi only in the common area. No wifi in the rooms, unfortunately. Make sure you arrive before 21:00 for check-in - The staff members are not on duty during the night. and .
Review 21:Spacious. Close to a Carrefour. The fridge is a nice to have.
Review 22:I would recommend extending wifi into the rooms and not just lobby. The roll out beds are in the main living room (where our two small kids slept) it would be nice to have a TV in the bedroom to watch.
Review 23:Free wifi in lobby is good. . Room was clean and perfect for our family of four. We had a one bed apartment and used the roll out bed in the main living room which were perfect for our small kids.
Review 24:We stayed on the ground floor which was not very clean. The public transport of Carcassonne it is not so good in terms of schedules.
Review 25:Definitely the Pool. If you arrive on a Sunday from the airport ask to the Shuttle bus driver for the Cerise hotel and the leave you there. It is cheaper than the taxi.
Review 26:Wi if only available in reception area unless you can connect with a wire in bedroom. Shower door did not close so flooded bathroom. Ceiling light in bathroom wasn't working.
Review 27:The location was ok.
Review 28:The shower leaked everywhere. The kitchen plates were dirty & bedroom cupboard sliding doors were difficult to slide. The carpet was dirty and public areas were not clean(lifts, outdoor tables).
Review 29:The air conditioning and it was located in a quiet area. It was an advantage in having a small kitchenette.
Review 30:Breakfast : Spartan ambiance. No milk for cereals. Reception : limited opening times. re WiFi : The staff couldn't find a way to print out for me the boarding pass for my return flight. So, Ryanair duly 'fined' me 45 euro at check-in for having no printout.
Review 31:The staff : cheerful, polite and always willing to help.
Review 32:The free wifi was only available in the lobby and a poor signal. It was difficult to get a connection or to sustain it. Not good enough in today's travel climate
Review 33:Self catering facilities and the pool were very good
Review 34:Cooker and fridge fine but inadequate kitchen utilities meant cooking your own meals was not practical.
Review 35:Nice big apartment Good aircon. We travelled by car so preferred to stay just outside of town so we could park.
Review 36:- bad english at the reception - the door of the shower was leaking and the bathroom a bit swimming afterwards - no breakfast bookable - wlan not everywhere in the appartement
Review 37:- the price was super - the small kitchen with microwave in the big appartement - i could take my bicycle within the appartement
Review 38:Small dark apartment, no where decent to eat within walking distance
Review 39:Easy taxi ride to Carcassone. Quiet, Parking for car.
Review 40:Wifi not available in rooms.
Review 41:Good location and parking if you have a car. Nice breakfast. Friendly helpful staff.
Review 42:Bed was a sofa bed so lacked comfort
Review 43:Staff
Review 44:Great value for double studio, must have car, close to Carrefour, and 10 minutes from city. Staff very helpful & pleasant.
Review 45:Helpful staff . Easy parking . Good room with facilities
Review 46:- Quite far from town center. Requires car, but there are supermarkets nearby.
Review 47:- Staff - Pool - Cleanliness - Private kitchen - Free parking space
Review 48:LINK TO INTERNET BY WIFI DID NOT FUNCTION AT THE LOUNGE NOR AT THE APPARTMENT
Review 49:USE OF KITCHEN
Review 50:Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 51:Cheking too late
Review 52:Good for one night stay! Nothing more!
Review 53:Almost everything
Review 54:Almost nothing, aligned with price?
Review 55:Bed was a sofa bed and very uncomfortable!
Review 56:Swimming pool and friendly staff
Review 57:The main road is near your pillow
Review 58:Just to stay for a night to visit old town-it`s OK
Review 59:Carmen on Reception is lovely and is so helpful. She remembered us from last year too which was nice.
Review 60:Loved the pool and the friendly staff
Review 61:These places are basic and soulless. But they do the job of giving you somewhere to stay.
Review 62:on the outskirts of Carcassonne.
Review 63:out of town, poor Wi-Fi in room, not enough variety for breakfast
Review 64:Roomy, open space,clean
Review 65:bed breakfast too expensive
Review 66:location free parking swimming pool self catering facilities
Review 67:No wifi in rooms
Review 68:Location was good
Review 69:Staff not very friendly felt a burden on reception staff
Review 70:Location was pretty good
Review 71:The kitchen area was quite small.
Review 72:The staff were all very welcoming and helpful. The pool looked lovely. Everywhere was very clean.
Review 73:The sterile feel of the building. In a place like Carcassonne it was noticeably bland with zero character.
Review 74:Spacious apartment
Review 75:The furnishig a bit old which need to be renovated. The wifi in the room is not work and only available in the lobby area.
Review 76:A short driving distance to town and there is a take away pizza kiosk just next to the car park.
Review 77:Queen bed was actually a fold-out couch (though pretty comfortable). Front door handle was very loose and about to break; the key was magnetic or something and a little difficult to unlock or lock. The location was further from the train station than anticipated, so we took a taxi there; then walked back to town and to the Castle.
Review 78:Good-sized, bright room with bathroom and kitchenette, and a window that opens. Great plasma TV. Quiet. Motion-activated lights in halls. Front desk staff spoke at least 3 languages well.
Review 79:Location isn't the best if you want to get to the scenic parts ofCarcassonne - the description of a 20 minute downhill walk is not true. It's 40 mins and the bus only runs once or twice per hour dependingon whether its school day or not.
Review 80:Decent value for money, quiet and clean.
Review 81:believed from the web site that it was a bit closer to town but it was a misunderstanding i.e. distinction between cite and new town. It was still walkable however
Review 82:excellent facilities, good value
Review 83:The internet barely worked. Extremely frustrating I wouldn't stay here again. Also the bathroom smelled funny. Finally no way to control room temperature
Review 84:it was cheap
Review 85:When I arrived, the staff were very friendly and as they speak French, Spanish, English and I think even German, no one had a problem being understood. The hotel is a 15-20 min walk from the town centre, but if you were hungry, there was a pizza place outside the hotel that were open til late every day. Although there's no mega luxury, it's a lovely appartment hotel that has both wifi and a pool. I came as a solo traveller and found it great for a relaxing holiday, but they also cater very well for families with children. I would return to stay there again and I would recommend them to others. Very good value for money!
Review 86:A bit far out for a visit to the castle (Unless you had your own vehicle in which case no problem)
Review 87:Budget friendly. Well enough equipped kitchen. Rooms large and spacious. Actual table to eat at. Close proximity to a large shopping mall area for groceries etc. Saved a fortune by cooking in. But there is a local boulangie close by also for baguettes and chocolate au pain rolls
Review 88:Very poor wired internet in the room, wifi available only in the lobby. Sound-insulation could be better: one can hear neighbours, but it's a tiny detail compared to the positive side of this accommodation.
Review 89:A new, spacious and clean hotel perfectly located if you come by car. We were upgraded from a studio to a flat, so we couldn't ask for anything more for the price we paid. Safe parking, nice swimming pool. Easy access to the historical part of the city.
Review 90:the only bus runs once an hour and stops running at 19.00, which means a 20min walk downhill to the centre of Carcassonne and a taxi back (€7 approx)
Review 91:good location to vise le Cite which was the reason we stayed. very clean nice pool bakery, shop, & take-out very near
Review 92:Poor maintenance ... No lamps in bedside lights, one of which hung on wires. Only thin curtain in second bedroom, heavy curtain missing - just signs of where rail once hung! Poor hygiene ... Plates still showed signs of previous tenants' meals! Built up residue on floor visible only when fridge door was open. Reception referred us to bakery which was closed for annual holiday! Free wi-fi turned out to only be available in lobby!
Review 93:Spacious family apartment, air-conditioning, pool, view, secure parking, location - if you have vehicle.
Review 94:The bed was a divan type which converted to a settee. Having to pay for parking in a 100 plus parking area and where numerous parking bays remained unoccupied in the enclosed area near the entry. Also, paying upfront when very few other hotels observe this practice.
Review 95:The facilities in the room. The size of the room.
Review 96:Hotel looks new but inside it is tired, smelly and not well maintatined. Room smelt bad and not all the sheets or pillow cases had been changed which was disgusting. Had to request new sheets. Beds were uncomfortable and the room did not have enough appliances to even make coffee let alone a meal. We thought it poor value at 150 euros and would not stay again.
Review 97:Location was good as it was only 5 mins drive from Carcassonne town. Secure parking was good.
Review 98:Bed was actually an open sofa bed. It was ok, but a bit weird. Location far from the city centre, we had to take the car. Wifi only at the reception.
Review 99:Overall it was ok, nothing special but a fair deal for price. I could easily go there again.
Review 100:The decor was a bit basic
Review 101:The space of the apartment. the women at reception were very nice and efficient. The apartment was very clean. Internet was very good.
Review 102:Be aware of the distance to the old city, roughly an hour walk, do not attempt with young children! Car really necessary
Review 103:Hotel is clean and rooms are relatively spacious. Staff was pleasant. Breakfast fair.
Review 104:Double bed was so uncomfortable, our backs were very sore after a week. Staff were abrupt to the point of being rude-no need for this ever. The kitchen was sparsely equiped.
Review 105:Location was perfect. A walk into the city or to the local hypermarché,kept up fit every day. The pool was spotless.
Review 106:Missing bulbs, kitchen very old ,missing one set of curtains in living room, not very clean, dusty, no playground for children and very small pool
Review 107:Good location and private parking
Review 108:Shower was broken; mentioned this when checking out. Also, thought itwas a bit odd to have to empty our own bin, surely that's why hotelsengage cleaners..?
Review 109:Good location, easy to find using sat nav - away from city centre butwithin walking distance (30 mins walk); next to main roads butsurprisingly little traffic noise :)
Review 110:the bed is not comfortable. it is only single bed with additional pulling bed underneath.
Review 111:room is big and there is a kitchen. parking also available on site
Review 112:On booking this hotel there was a comment from another family that it was a 20 minute walk to Carcassone, this is true if you are visiting the new town if you wish to walk to the medieval city it is at least a 60 minute walk!
Review 113:Few shops open on Sunday to say it's a busy tourist area.
Review 114:The Canal du Midi. We went cycling. Good train Links to other regions. Good for outdoor activities. Culture and history.
Review 115:One of the rooms we stayed in did not have a door between the kitchenand the bedroom whereas the other room did. This meant that you couldhear the fridge working all night, which I found stopped me sleeping. Iused earplugs from the second night onwards. I imagine if you wanted toyou could ask to be moved to a room which had a door fitted on thebedroom to avoid this problem.
Review 116:The hotel was located on a large but fairly quiet road. We booked inhere for the first night of our holiday in mid to end June 2013 andended up coming back later for another 4 nights. The rooms were smart, exceptionally modern and clean and had cooking facilities which suitedus perfectly. I am on a gluten and dairy free diet so was able to buywhat I wanted at the supermarket and save money by not eating out forevery meal. There was a table and chairs in the room. You do need atravel kettle though, unless you want to boil water in a pan.We had the hotel self-service continental breakfast once and decided not to again as not only was it expensive (9.50 euros pp), but also there was virtually nothing safe for me to eat. I would have asked for eggs but didn't see any staff at that time. The bed was a metal action sofa bed which you can fold up very easily during the day if required. This was surprisingly comfortable to sleep on. The hotel was very quiet at night. Air conditioning worked very well. Plenty of piping hot water at all hours, and clean towels. There was a swimming pool with free sun beds. Free wi-fi in the reception area (we found we could not connect to it in the rooms). The staff were extremely polite and helpful. We made a mistake on our second booking (we'd booked 3 nights instead of 4) and the male receptionist added an extra night on our stay at the same cheap online price we had paid for the other 3 nights. He allowed us to stay in the same room and could not have been more helpful.Parking in their car park costs 3 euros. We parked just outside the gate for free, where there is lots of space. The after hours gate/door codes are texted to your mobile phone but they were always open while we were there. There is a boulangerie,a small pizza takeaway and a pharmacy close by.
Review 117:No negative comments.
Review 118:A great value location for exploring Carcassonne. Comfortable, clean andstaff very helpful. Walk into town is nice although be prepared foranother 20 minute walk out the other side to the mediaeval city. Youdon't need to walk though, the bus service is excellent and cheap.
Review 119:The fold down beds are not the most comfortable.
Review 120:The price is great value for a few days stay. The little kitchen area and fridge allows you to buy delicious market produce and cook it in the appartment!!
Review 121:It was very hard to find if, like me, you weren't arriving by autoroute! Also its a very long way from the mediaeval city with no buses in the evening. Decor etc was spartan but I expected that for the low room rate.
Review 122:Secure parking, easy access to Autoroute, cheap.
Review 123:internet access could only be used from the main reception hall would prefer access in the rooms
Review 124:easy access to old town & shops good secure parking comfortable beds power shower
Review 125:No sharp knife to cut Bread, cheese etc. No kettle or tea pot (bloodyBrits. Don't drink coffee like reasonable humans!!!)
Review 126:The facility to feed ourselves. View from window
Review 127:Surroundings rather bare .Car needed to drive to the Restaurants. We hadsome difficulties maintaining contact on the internet.
Review 128:It had everything necessary, secure car park, good little kitchenand bathroom. Comfortable bed. Carcassonne was a mile away on goodroads. Nearest restaurants are good and cheap. Carcassonne old townis amazing..
Review 129:Could be cheaper! Though for France it is decent value I guess. Not muchcharacter, but that is to be expected in a new building. Minor quibble:a bedside lamp would be nice.
Review 130:Great facilities including kitchen, spacious, clean, friendly staff.
Review 131:Beds too hard and too small.
Review 132:Although we weren't late for check-in, we received entrance codes on our mobile. Helpful multilingual staff. Free internet connection (cable, not WiFi) in the room.
Review 133:It was advertised as having English people staff-not true. On arrivalthe reception staff could not speak English. Thankfully my limitedFrench got me through. I was expecting a double bed studio, only to findthe bed was a fold out settee, the most uncomfortable I've ever triedsleeping on. Lack of good size cups. The studio could have done with agood clean. Poor sound proofing, could hear footsteps constantly andalso a constant humming noise throughout the night.
Review 134:To be honest, the only thing I liked about Appart'City Carcassone wasthe car parking facility.
Review 135:Quite a way out of centre, however lots of parking in La Cité.
Review 136:Lovely room with cooking facilities. Very quiet even though hotel wasfull. Very helpful staff.
Review 137:We were walking just a little to far but once you can find bus and orientation no real problem. The kitchenette was a little cramped
Review 138:Clean modern hygienic good sized room car parking recommended About 20 minutes simple walk from Gre SNCF. Bus Gambetta No 3 from just outside station (beside canal) quite regular buses near roundabout c 500m away excelelnt car park facilities swimming pool Kitchenette has just enough to cook most meals with plates cups glasses. Overall excellent. Receptionist absolutely wonderful.
Review 139:I had to go through hell every time I wanted connection to the Internet, the location is dull, room is small, pillows and mattress not comfy,no kettle in kitchen, no mugs only espresso cups,
Review 140:Friendly receptionist, easy to find, near airport.
