Reviews for Brit Hotel La Bonne Etape

Review 1:Needed access code to get in. Phone number on gate was incorrect. Googled number and operator didn't speak English. Guven wrong room ( booked twin given double ) then couldn't get off the complex as gate would only open with a car so had to climb fence. Best avoided

Review 2:Not a lot

Review 3:Nowhere nice nearby to eat out in the evening. Ended up at Flunch which was disgusting. It was very difficult to find the hotel. Sat nav did not pick up the address and the sign on the road was small.

Review 4:No lift, toilet, wc and shower all located in tiny cubicle with high step. Not suitable for aged or infirm.

Review 5:Parking excellent, clean, staff very attentive and helpful.

Review 6:Small room, but modern and very clean. Excellent for stop-over. Restaurant on site. Secure parking. Quiet location. Good value, will look out for this chain of hotels again

Review 7:Room 213 window opened onto a rooftop and we had an invasion of flies Double room only one chair Breakfast was a little sparse unusually

Review 8:Very clean

Review 9:Small toilet and shower room. Very noisy outside due to a youth with moped and room was noisy as by the stairs and fire door and inconciderate people.

Review 10:comfortable bed and pillows. Room a good size.

Review 11:We arrived after 8pm and the gate was closed. Called the number on the gate and it was out of service - we nearly gave up at this point. However, found a number on their website and got through. Turned out the receptionist was at the back of the building all along, and he gave us the gate code plus building code. I suggest they get CCTV and someone to glance at it occasionally, as it took us a good 20 mins to get access.

Review 12:I asked to arrange for late checkin. Booking.com were unable to get a reply from the hotel and i was advised to contact the hotel direct after sveral attempts i finally got to speak to someone. They could not speak English and i struggled to communicate that i would not arrive at the hotel until 1am and would someone be there to check me in. I asked my partner who can speak French to communicate and confirm and from our understanding it was all agreed. After a long drive and svere tiredness we arrived as planned at 1am. We could not get into the compound and the phone went to answer phone. We were stuffed, thanks to the Brit Hotel. We had to drive to a suitable location and sleep the night in the car, cold, noisey and annoyed. Never again.

Review 13:Arriving and having no instructions on how to get into the hotel,if you are not familiar of these hotels, this could put you off. Having to watch and enter only when someone else with a key entered. Finding an envelope with a key was a bonus!

Review 14:Bedroom and beds comfortable and very clean, that's when you figure out how get into the hotel!, staff in the morning had very little contact, but all was on hand if you needed breakfast or anything else.

Review 15:Wifi was patchy at best. Bar / restaurant closed at 21.00. Shower / toilet quite small and having a shower soaked the rest of the room which was unsatisfactory if you were solo, let alone sharing facilities.

Review 16:The location was perfect for our cycling tour of the area. The receptionist allowed us to check in at 7.30 am on day of arrival (overnight ferry to Dieppe) and we also secured a late checkout on our day of departure. We may have benefited from it being a fairly quiet period and the hotel was not very busy. The restaurant was fine for our needs and the food appetising. Breakfast was a little more that 'basic French continental' offering a selection of cheese, meats, and eggs as well as the usual croissants, bread butter and jam.

Review 17:Directions were a bit confusing, the street name was wrong we had to go to the TIC in Evreux to find the hotel! Small sign on the roundabout so we missed it, and the hotel is hidden behind the F1 hotel. The bathroom wasvery small and breakfast could have been better although ok.

Review 18:Cleanliness and comfort, good value for money, locked car park. Close to Evreux, perfect location off the motorway, on site restaurant. Would recommend and stay again.

Review 19:When we first arrived the toilet had no water although this was put right within an hour We had no key to our room and had to use a key from front desk Hot chocolate did not appear at breakfast

Review 20:Generally the hotel is well run and quality of food was good

Review 21:The hotel was closed for a fortnight when we arrived, having made a booking through booking.com. The last thing you want after a long drive, and with children could have been a nightmare. Used motel next door. If a hotel is to close for a period they must be some way to let people know.

Review 22:No tea making facilities in room.

Review 23:Clean and basic accommodation. Reception staff very helpful with adaptors and tea and coffee request. Very comfortable bed. Great for stop over in travels.

Review 24:Although it was possible to book a room for a Sunday night stay in reality there are no staff on duty and the hotel appeared closed on that day. We had to continue our journey and find alternative accommodation. Not a good experience.

Review 25:no staff on duty when we arrived on the 6th July. Pin provided did not operate the gate Fortunately some guests show our plight and used their keycard to allow us access Room key left for us on counter top Advertising of the hotel promised an on-site restaurant and Bar - both of which were not operational. On our return the following week 14th July once again no member of staff on duty Once again our given pin number did not allow access The telephone numbers (2) was only an answering service in French so were of no assistance The F! hotel was our saviour, the duty clerk having understood our plight and called the service on our behalf and we were given a different pin no. We were the only inhabitants on the property After having travelled for over 9 hours with two children we were very very unimpressed and did not appreciate the hassle

Review 26:The size of the room- lots of space The comfort of the beds

Review 27:Breakfast tasty but still the same food.

Review 28:For that price good accomodation.

Review 29:Clean room perfect for an overnight en route.

Review 30:Slow Wifi

Review 31:The hotel staff are always very welcoming and will go the extra mile to ensure your stay is an enjoyable one

Review 32:no tea/coffee making facilities in room, and no machine to buy any in hotel.

Review 33:very helpfull staff, lovely big comfy bed

Review 34:Breakfast could be a little more organised

Review 35:It provided all we needed for a stop over

Review 36:Very friendly and efficient staff. Very clean and comfortable room. Good breakfast

Review 37:nothing really it was fine

Review 38:a good location clean and a good nights sleep

Review 39:V small shower/ toilet cubicle

Review 40:Staff v friendly & helpful

Review 41:Clean bedding and cleanliness of room

Review 42:The Wifi didn't work

Review 43:Location, value

Review 44:The very very small bathroom any lady larger than me (size 16) would not be able to shower !!

Review 45:most of it

Review 46:Restaurant closed after having cycled 300kms that day!

Review 47:The staff

Review 48:Very small shower room Toilet got wet when you used the shower

Review 49:Nice receptionist Good buffet available Gates locked at night so felt car was safe

Review 50:I found it a little bit hard to find, but I was tired and stressed so perhaps it was me.

Review 51:A good clean and comfortable stop near enough to Dieppe. Staff very nice and when I couldn't find my French cheque book they were happy to wait till the next day.

Review 52:only down side is the bathroom .other than the size of it everything fine for what we wanted

Review 53:Clean and comfy for night stop over.we found easy ,we down loaded the directions .

Review 54:On arrival the receptionist could not find our booking. When she eventually found it she gave us the wrong room. We had booked a superior room which we did eventually get, however it was no different than the normal rooms except slightly bigger. No air con and had to have the window wide open all night, this was not good for security as the rooms window looked over a flat roof easy to get onto. The only bedding was large thick quilt so it was a very warm night. The following morning the same receptionist tried to charge us more than agreed which we refused to pay. A very average hotel, wont be staying there again.

Review 55:Location not far from main route and easy to find.

Review 56:there were no instructions in the booking to indicate that you had to phone to get a code number for the electric gate and door entry, or that the room key was in an envelope on the counter. Otherwise the best value for money hotel. This is the second time I used it, but staff were present then. If My telephone had gone flat, which it nearly did, I would have been unable to access help.

Review 57:The cleanliness, of the whole building. comfortable bed.

Review 58:I do like the coffee and tea making facilities available in a room, especially after such a lengthy journey to get to Evreux. (LeftToulouse around mid-day,) because we were so late thebar/restaurant was closed.

Review 59:We arrived very late, due to the weather, an accident and a lengthydiversion around Vierzon, which was not very well signposted. The staffwere very helpful when we arrived and, also when we left. The receptionstaff photocopied a document for us and dealt with two letters we hadfor posting

Review 60:Room is very basic, the bathroom is very small, something on the scale of what would be in a caravan. It was located in what looked like an industrial estate and was not very well signposted so took some time to locate.

Review 61:Hotel was clean, staff were friendly, hotel was conveniently located on the route we were taking.

Review 62:Tiny bathroom, you could sit on the loo & have a shower at the same time! Also your website stated that the restaurant would be open on Fri evenings but it wasn't & the hotel wasn't within walking distance to the town.

Review 63:Very clean, helpful staff.

Review 64:As a purpose built modern "block" hotel the bathroom facilities were crammed into as small a space as possible. It was difficult even to turn round in the shower area. OK at the price but we won't stay there again.

Review 65:The hotel is reasonably modern and the retaurant seems to be run on the lines of the Campanile chain. We ordered the dish of the day 30 minutes after the restaurant opened only to be told that it was no longer available. However we were offwered a most costly dish from the menu at no extra charge. Food was of reasonable standard, including breakfast.

Review 66:The bathroom was a little bit too small - would be very difficult for alarge person

Review 67:Hotel was as shown on internet - the photos were true We will use thishotel again on our return from uk

Review 68:We got off at the wrong evreaux junction. Should have got off a154 at junction 9 and then it would have been very easy to find.

Review 69:Good hotel clean and tidy. A bit out of the way on an industrial area but that is commen. There are a couple of small bars nearby within walking distance.

Review 70:The size of the bathroom: when using the toilet, my feet were in the shower! More like a caravan size bathroom. No hair dryer, despite what described on the website. No wi-fi in the room because there were "too many customers"! I was allowed to use the reception area wi-fi though. The city centre was at about 45 min walk from the hotel.

Review 71:Free car park locked at night.

Review 72:given wrong internet pass code

Review 73:beds very good

Review 74:Room is slightly small. Bathroom is rediculisly small !!!

Review 75:The central heating can not work at mid-night, It's not a good feeling that waked up for cold!

Review 76:Tiny bathroom, no kettle in the room & restaurant closed

Review 77:Very clean & comfy beds

Review 78:beds uncomfortable No tea/coffee making facilities in room. did not like shower /toilet arrangement

Review 79:good size room

Review 80:Breakfast consisted of old fruit not worth 7 euros. Went else where for breakfast. Bathroom in standard double to small.

Review 81:Clean comfy family room.

Review 82:Spacious & a very clean room

Review 83:No problems

Review 84:Everything required for a short stay.
