Reviews for Hotel Des Trois Couronnes
Review 1:Really nothng to fault.
Review 2:Wonderful panorama of the citadel from the room, a million dollar view. Very convenient for both the old and new(er!) City. Modern comfy quiet well heated room (very cold outside in november). Lovely staff who gave a great restaurant recommendation as the hotel restaurant closes in winter.
Review 3:Wi-fi did not function during our four day stay. Staff kept rebooting the system but without success. Staff also acknowledged that the wi-fi was 'poor' at the hotel.
Review 4:Great location for visiting both the "new" town centre and the old city
Review 5:Breakfast was a little ordinary. I would have expected that we would have been told that we needed to book for dinner in the restaurant when we booked the room.
Review 6:Excellent position. Very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 7:Paper cups in the bedrooms which would would not expect in a 4 star hotel. The outlook from room 216 was drab and I think next time we will aim for higher up and a view of the Citie
Review 8:The restaurant was excellent. Interesting menu, quality ingredients, well prepared and the maitre D service was exemplary.
Review 9:Breakfast was disappointing and very poor value for money.
Review 10:Loved the view of the old city walls from our balcony. Our room was serviced every day and toiletries replenished. Train station/canal/old city all within walking distance.
Review 11:Closet was tiny.
Review 12:The location was great. Right by the footbridge so you could walk to the castle. The view from my room of the walled city in the day or at night was unbelievable. But if you don't have a room with a view you can go up to the roof. There are a few chairs up there. My friends said the restaurant was excellent. Bed was very comfortable made with double sheeting. There is an automated outer door on the sliding glass door that turns the room completely black so if you are the type who loves sleeping in the dark, this is GREAT. Breakfast at hotel was also very good.
Review 13:This hotel is in a perfect position for enjoying a visit to the Citadel. Our room was on the third floor with a view of the city from the balcony. Breakfast was good and staff friendly. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Carcassonne.
Review 14:Good sized room with balcony and great view of old city and countryside; easy walking distance of old and newer city. Excellent food and restaurant service; very friendly and helpful staff.
Review 15:Underground garage was to low for my 4x4.
Review 16:Location was superb, really close to the walled city. The view from our balcony was amazing especially at night when the castle was lit up. Nice modern hotel with good decor. Nice sized room with balcony with view of the castle. Comfortable bed.
Review 17:Small room with stained carpet and dirty windows. No sink plug with staff saying that's normal!
Review 18:Excellent location with a fabulous view of the citadel.
Review 19:Thought breakfast a little expensive for the food choice offered, and not always replenished
Review 20:Position of hotel between cite and lower town giving us flexibility for bars and restaurants
Review 21:There were no bad experiences
Review 22:Excellent hotel, room staff and facilities were excellent. We had an evening meal at the hotel which was excellent and very good value and the breakfast was really good.
Review 23:The wi-fi connection was poor - most of the time it didn't work. Made use of the hotel computer next to reception which guests can use.
Review 24:Beautiful view of old town. Hotel staff were keen to help and mostly very friendly.
Review 25:Having to change room due to air conditioning burst pipe. No offer of upgrade. No sunbathing area Only one English TV channel Awkward toilet and bathroom facilities Faulty door key Tiny balcony Stairs very dirty. Skirtings never cleaned, coated in dust.
Review 26:The restaurant The location Some staff
Review 27:Being on the ground floor there was a lot of noise from outside.
Review 28:The close proximity to the Citadel and the overall comfort of the room and the hotel in general.
Review 29:Poor breakfast, only had it first morning. Small twin bedded room and not a drawer in sight to put anything in!
Review 30:Superb location, car parking available, near old town and restaurants.
Review 31:Wifi connection kept getting disconnected and the network coverage wasn't the best.
Review 32:Knowing we were vegetarian, the front desk staff and the chef made us a special dinner which was delicious. Very thoughtful and caring. Great hospitality.
Review 33:Couldn't connect to wifi and were only given 15 mins free anyhow...
Review 34:Breakfast excellent. Views of Carcassonne superb. Pool was a lovely addition and looked over Carcassonne too. Ate in restaurant first evening and the food was excellent and although quite pricey for France was worth it.
Review 35:Bathroom needed redecorating. Shower head kept on falling down and hooks fell off wall.
Review 36:Location was perfect as we had a balcony. Staff were very helpful and friendly.
Review 37:We had difficulty finding the hotel on arrival, so do research the approach carefully ! Once arrived parking was easy though.
Review 38:The fabulous view ! The hotel is very well positioned for walking to both the old town and the new. The restaurant was very good and every table has a view of the old town even if you can't have one by the windows.
Review 39:It was a great location!!! It was clean and very friendly. But most of all honest! I forgot my gold ring!!! A quite significant bulgari ring. They had found it and I picked it up the next day. Impressive.
Review 40:Lack of safe deposit box in room Shower cord in bathroom too short Windows in restaurant were not clean. This is one of the nicest features of the hotel and they should do everything to make the best of it
Review 41:Location - right between the citadel and city center Restaurant - intimate with a view over the citadel to the east. Very good service (thanks Jacques)
Review 42:Swimming pool was refreshing, if a little 'tired'.
Review 43:Location of hotel was great, and the restaurant served unexpectedly delicious food. The view of Carcassonne from the balcony was astonishing.
Review 44:First room we got had a very small balcony and not as seen in room booked on line. Second room after we complained had a much bigger balcony with much better view. Also access/egress to bath we belive was dangerous. No hot water at 7pm on Saturday evening. Wall at end of bath had excessive mould. This area could not be cleaned properly as access to this was be impossible unless cleaner stood in bath. Riser rail for shower broken so shower head had to be held to wash. Very bad value for money.Very disappointed Would not recommend this hotel
Review 45:The view
Review 46:The hotel was in a great location between the lower town and the city. We had an amazing view of the medieval city from our hotel room. The staff were very helpful, recommending an amazing restaurant for us one night. I would definitely stay there again!
Review 47:Unfortunately the restaurant, which has fabulous views, left a lot to be desired. In fact two of our four meals were inedible (steaks) and the fish overcooked and dry.
Review 48:The views are spectacular - probably the best of any hotel in Carcassonne. Position is also good, a short walk into the centre of the town with its cafes and bars and the old city, which is what everyone comes for.
Review 49:Hotel shower poor, on an external attachment which kept swivelling and flooding the floor. Decor a bit tired and no tea and coffee making facilities in the room.
Review 50:Great view of the old city and able to walk in for dinner. Staff helpful when needed. Restaurant meal surprisingly good, traditional but well cooked and presented and good service but not expensive (about $45 per head including a bottle of wine
Review 51:The Wifi is very slow and when there are many people in the hotel does not work well. Another bad thing is that there many groups arriving every day.
Review 52:Staff: Mrs. Carine Lê-Van, Soumiya Lacheb, Mrs. Béatrice Di Maio, the lady that works in the restaurant ( Lemance) and the maitre also. The view from the rooms facing the castle. Fantastic!
Review 53:Nothing we didn't like.
Review 54:Great location within 15-20 minutes walk of Carcassonne's medieval walled city, which is prominently visible from the hotel. When checking in, staff were courteous, efficient and helpful with excellent spoken English. Our room was spacious enough with all fixtures and fittings in good working order. The bed was extremely comfortable and the free WiFi was appreciated. Breakfasts and dinners in the Panoramique Restaurant on the fourth floor were both of an exceptional standard. Secure underground car parking (at a cost, which is OK) was a bonus for us.
Review 55:The staff upon check-in, gave us a horrible room with no view, even though we paid extra for a view. When we went back a couple minutes later, the woman was abrupt, but did agree to give us a better room. The hotel is far from any restaurants or cafes.
Review 56:We booked this hotel because it had a great view of the Castle. The room we had was amazing. It had a great view of the castle on the balcony. We had dinner in the hotel restaurant twice, and both meals were superb, and also presented a wonderful view of the castle. The room was large and comfortable, and was in walking distance to the castle and to the train station.
Review 57:No public bar/drinks area. I saw a pit of coffee in the foyer but a sign said not to touch the coffee .. it was organised for a group..... that was ok .... but I would have loved (and would have paid for...) a cup at that time as I had missed breakfast!
Review 58:The location. Efficiency of service. The dinner
Review 59:Broken shower, no panoramic view when requested. We were put facing away from the medieval city and on the 1st floor. No early check in when requested. No seats at the top for viewing the medieval city. Pool had no changing facilities or lockers and was dirty. No toothpaste in the room. The aircon was also set far too hot. woke up sweating in the night and could hardly sleep.
Review 60:Location and the view.
Review 61:The hotel room had virtually no storage space for clothes so had to live out of the suitcase. The bar was used primarily as an extension to the restaurant and it wasn't always possible to go to the bar just for a drink.
Review 62:The area had scope for sightseeing and walking.
Review 63:The sound proofing in the rooms was very poor. The access to the swimming pool 1000-2000 hrs meant we were unable to use the facility. Rooms were clean but very small for what is billed as a 4 Star Hotel. The hotel is situated at the end of a long and dark lane in what seems to be a shadier part of town.
Review 64:I loved the view from our room - overlooking the ramparts of the medieval city of Carcassonne. Staff were friendly and helpful
Review 65:Not the most attractive of hotels from the outside, but very comfortable and so convenient.
Review 66:The view from room 312 was beautiful, especially when the cite was floodlit. Secure underground parking was excellent.
Review 67:Breakfast a bit expensive for what you get no tea/coffee facilities although we had a empty fridge
Review 68:Very comfortable and VERY clean modern hotel staff were very good and helpful and polite
Review 69:Nothing really, but the rooms were short of storage, just a built-in wardrobe with one shelf above, and no safe in the room. Not a huge problem as we were only there 4 nights, but could be an issue if you had more luggage. Breakfast seemed expensive, so we ate in the old city or had brunch whilst out on our travels, more of a treat we thought.
Review 70:Perfect location for visiting the old city, with convenient parking and also easy access to the Pyrenees and Haut Languedoc. Rooms clean and modern, comfortable bed, well equipped bathroom, English-speaking reception staff. Wonderful view of the old city from the small balcony, especially at night.
Review 71:Despite the nice, quite location, rather far from both the castle and 'new town' The hotel is dated and in need of renovation the room was small The hotel was expensive. Breakfast also expensive (didn't take it)
Review 72:We had a room with a little balcony facing the castle. Beautiful view indeed (however a 15 minute walk to either the castle or the 'new town') The small swimming pool was nice and relaxing the parking is very convenient, safe and very well-priced (EUR 6) The staff helpful and friendly and accommodated us well. Selection of TV Channels
Review 73:hot water in the shower impossible to control, beds are a little shaky,
Review 74:view and location is worth almost everything! Nice french cuisine in the restaurant, free parking in from of the hotel (if you can get a free spot), pool is nice, with fantastic view of the city, but small and run-down. Rooms can be connected if you travel with children
Review 75:The restaurant was closed and the wifi did not work, neither in reception nor in the room.
Review 76:The view from the breakfast room and the breakfast was very good.
Review 77:Although location is good for visiting old/new towns, very little going on in the immediate area at night time. Would have liked to have had tea/coffee making facilities in room. Breakfast could do with more of a choice.
Review 78:The location for visiting the old and new towns. Very friendly male receptionist on arrival. Nice comfortable beds, good shower, decent toiletries. Hairdryer didn't work and when another was requested, it was delivered to our room in minutes. Fantastic view from room and dining room. No passing traffic or noise during night. Proxmity of the airport shuttle bus stop (have to give the driver a mention - he was so friendly and helpful). Would recommend this hotel.
Review 79:Restaurant with panoramic windows, high prices and poor menu:)
Review 80:Panoramic view is actually a side panoramic view, it would be nice to put the bed to another wall, so that you can enjoy the view straight from the bed. Small fridge in the room and tea-coffee facilities, it was really nice. The bed is very comfortable, and wifi is good.
Review 81:Nothing.
Review 82:We have stayed here many times and it is always clean and comfortable. Very good restaurant with excellent views. Great location - quiet but near to everything.
Review 83:The hotel is Modern and well appointed with good sized rooms although the separate loo was a bit cramped Service is excellent and friendly they really take very good care of you. There is is also a fantastic view of le cite de carcassonne from the balconies
Review 84:Leaving.....:(
Review 85:We loved being able to sit on the deck and look at La Cite (the castle) as the light changed. The restaurant serves delicious food and is good value, once again with a fantastic view. Also theres a very handy carpark straight downstairs. Front desk staff and the owner were very helpful with directions and local knowledge
Review 86:The location was great - so close to both the historic fortified city and the "new" town, and with a wonderful view of "La Cite" especially after sun goes down.
Review 87:One very minor point the computer for the guests use was not available on some days.
Review 88:Position of Hotel with views of the old town from the bedroom window and the restaurant window. Evening meal one of the best. The staff were all very helpful.
Review 89:The little table, like the fridge, was a bit grubby, not a problem but not what you expect from 4 stars. The bed was a bit hard.
Review 90:Got a good deal with booking.com on a 'superior room with view' and mini balcony, the view was perfect and lovely to have the little table outside. Pool is little but lovely when hot.
Review 91:blood on one our pillows on arrival Smelly room as if damp issue Hard bed with uncomfy pillows Separate toilet which is in a miniscule cupboard on other side of room to the bathroom
Review 92:nice view of the castle from your window They have a pool albeit tired looking
Review 93:Room next door to a lift but it didn't prove too noisy in the event. Restaurants in the citadel close early on weekday evenings so there is a bit of a walk into town if you don't want to eat in the hotel restaurant.
Review 94:The hotel is perfectly sited between the town and the citadel with a wonderful view of the castle from the restaurant and just outside. Staff very helpful and friendly. Very comfortable, quiet and modern rooms.
Review 95:No tea / coffee facilities in the room. BUT there is a good coffee/espresso machine in the lobby and if you want a cup of tea in the morning, just go to the breakfast restaurant and ask. (There are so many other good things that this shouldn't prevent you from staying here.)
Review 96:Great Location - with fantastic view of Le Cite (castle) and the river from our room's balcony, and also from restaurant at bkfast/dinner. Also has a heated indoor pool with the same view. Bkfast was very good, staff friendly and helpful. Bed comfortable, room clean, modern bathrooms. Perfect location between the new town and Le Cite/old town, only 10 mins walk to the tourist sites and you get to appreciate the views and the whole area. Has undercover parking (9e per day) or free parking 20m across the street.
Review 97:There was a thunderstorm the night we spent there. The noise of the wind whooshed through our room like the storm was right inside the building. Can't explain what caused this.
Review 98:Location was great and the Staff very helpful and friendly.
Review 99:Nothing really, a clean, French, 2 star hotel
Review 100:Great location (though if you have a car be prepared to walk 10 mins from a public car park) Good to have air con on a hot August evening. Nice staff who are eager to please.
Review 101:There should be some way to give a reduction to the single traveller. Maybe a free breakfast, something.
Review 102:Staff on ground floor were just friendliness personified.
Review 103:Sadly this hotel is poorly managed. Not clean enough, many problems with items not working in room e.g. Fridge, air conditioning. It is not at four star quality but should be. Also the pool is a joke! More like a duck pond. Only good to sit in or for children. Impossible to swim a length in. Deceptively advertised!
Review 104:Location.
Review 105:Didnt really have a bar to relax in for a drink. The balcony was right next to a road wasnt really how i had imagined it but none the less a spectacular view.
Review 106:The best airconditioning ever had in a hotel. The swimming pool looked lovely although we didnt use it.The location near the cite.Free parking nearby. The view from room and restaurant.
Review 107:Enviable view of the old town; you knew there was a live Elton John concert going on there - but the balcony door supressed the music when you didnt want to hear it! Comfortable beds; bathroom and loo separated. Fresh milk for your in-room cuppa readily provided.
Review 108:We did have a view of the citadel but having paid extra for a panoramic view was slightly disappointed to only be on the first floor - there were other rooms with much better views... The swimming pool is very imaginatively photographed, it is tiny.
Review 109:The staff were extremely helpful and friendly and the location is great, fantastic to have parking on site too. The room was clean and the air conditioning was appreciated.
Review 110:Can't think of anything
Review 111:Our room on the 3rd floor gave us a panoramic view of The Citadel. It was amazing . The town centre is a short walk away and you can walk up to the medieval city . The staff were very helpful
Review 112:No drawers in the bedroom only 3 coat hangers and two shelves one of which had blankets stored no tea or coffee facility but one could order it by room service
Review 113:The restaurant was excellent though they appeared to have the same menu every day
Review 114:Nothing it was all great.
Review 115:The hotel was well appointed, with excellent views from our balcony across the river Aude to the old City of Carcassonne. Comfy clean room with a large bed and AC. Private underground parking was brilliant. A good location for the old city and the modern one. The breakfast range was vast with too much choice!!
Review 116:Room wasn't ready until 3pm despite check in time between 12 and 1pm on confirmation. Decor a little tired for price, bathroom in need of refurb (bath scratched, plug broken so plastic plug left on side, and screen between bath and basin a bit mouldy where difficult to clean and carpet in bedroom needs replacing, a little stained) but all very clean, but for price we paid expevted more.
Review 117:Staff excellent and amazing views from room. A panoramic balcony room worth it. Panoramic resraurant lovely and manager charming. The private carpark very secure and direct access to hotel useful. Overall good for one night stay, but our room could do with a spruce up. Excellent chinese restaurant round the corner too.
Review 118:Nothing
Review 119:We had a panoramic view and it was perfect. The hotel is quite new and our room was excellent. 10 to 15 minute walk from the train station. We walked across the bridge and up the hill to La Cite and later about 15 minutes to get into the main part of Carcassone.
Review 120:My room was at the back without a view. Breakfast was average. It was too far from the cite. We left after two days though we had planned to stay five
Review 121:It was clean
Review 122:the water from the gutter over the entrance was broken and the water with the heavy rain was splashing over the entrance door.
Review 123:Friendly, helpful staff and the situation close to the old town. The rooms were very comfortable.
Review 124:Bed linen had been repaired - not acceptable for a 4* Hotel. Receptionist was not helpful to us in printing off boarding card and the PC available to us was very limited. We were there about 30 minutes with no assistance. We eventually had to go into town & print in an internet Cafe ( TEC - behind the Post Office). Took 1 minute to print. Charged €9 per day for parking. Staff were nice but not overly friendly - weary of their customers is what comes to mind. 1st night we asked for directions to restaurants & were sent to the town as opposed to the old city.
Review 125:Location excellent, right beside pedestrian bridge to the old City. A few minutes walk into town also. Upgraded room for an extra €20 to have a view of castle from room
Review 126:The view was poor, but not everyone can have a river view. The room needed a new carpet as bleach stains, (but very clean).
Review 127:The location was excellent - short walk over historic bridge to walled city, short walk to the large town. The room was very light, full size bath, panoramic views from restaurant and from roof top. Very friendly staff.
Review 128:Evening meal in restaurant was expensive & not a lot of choice. Would have liked a sitting area outside to have a coffee or glass of wine
Review 129:Staff were very helpful, making bookings in local restaurants , checking train times & info....panaramic views in bedroom, restaurant & pool .... magnificent. Nice breakfast plenty of choice.
Review 130:Excellent location, secure parking and lovely food in ideal location over looking the old town
Review 131:Best location in town
Review 132:Not a lot wrong with this place to be honest, a great stopping off point for travellers
Review 133:Location, room, staff, food,
Review 134:beautiful view from panoramic bedroom.
Review 135:Closeness to airport and easy parking
Review 136:Great access to the old city, and an excellent view of it from our room, and from the restaurant
Review 137:Very good situation, lovely views of city. Would stay again.
