Reviews for Hotel Restaurant les Jardins de Brantôme

Review 1:I thought it was a tad on the expensive side, but maybe this is because Brantome is very popular with tourists.

Review 2:The accomodation (in separate room in the garden) was very good with lots of character. The location was excellent - right next door to the centre of Brantome, which is a "picture postcard" location with lots of photo opportunities. It has its own restaurant - the 1 evening meal we had there was very good and the breakfasts were excellent, with fresh fruit and local produce. It has its own private parking, albeit a little tricky to get to.

Review 3:If you visit the lovely village of Brantome then look no further than this wonderful, small, intimate hotel. Everything about it is first class and you will be treated like kings by the two very talented owners. The rooms are chic, clean and wonderfully appointed. The restaurant is superb - one of the best in the area - with emphasis on fresh local produce prepared to delight at every meal. Be sure to book when you arrive as it is often full. We loved the location of Les Jardins as it gave us an easy walk to the center of town and also provided a selection of walking paths into the countryside from right outside our bedroom door. Cant wait to return.

Review 4:Beautiful, clean and comfortable room, excellent pool, fabulous breakfast, first class meal and excellent service, lovely hosts... We wish to come back soon

Review 5:Some road noise!

Review 6:Superb, relaxing with style. First class chef with varied menus - wonderful husband and wife team working ver hard who deserve rewards of higest recommendations

Review 7:No proper shower in an otherwise fab bathroom. Small, awkward pool.

Review 8:Really clean, comfortable room with separate mezzanine for the kids. Stylish and eco-friendly. Great night's sleep.

Review 9:the wonderful linen bedding, beautifully decorated rooms, and such a lovely bonus to find a swimming pool, very good shower, and everything one could want for a comfortable stay

Review 10:It was very hot. There was no aircon/fan in the second floor of the loft. The existing aircon was only cooling the lower floor.

Review 11:Beautiful Loft with balcony. Very kind service! And the pool.

Review 12:The property is beautifully decorated, with both authentic rustic and modern touches. The staff were very pleasant and helpful as well as being friendly and they made us feel very welcome. The quality of the food is superb.

Review 13:The noise from the main road traveled a bit up to our room, maybe unique on our visit day due to wind direction etc. Overall, we would certainly book again.

Review 14:Great staff, a beautiful and well kept place with a special green feeling to it. Room was exquistely decorated with super amenities. Outstanding. Food in the restaurant also perfect.

Review 15:Nice quite location close to town centre. Super food, great owners, interesting buildings and rooms with a view that are interestingly decorated. Safe parking.

Review 16:Linen bedsheets (but not a major issue)

Review 17:The Hotel Jardins is a perfect little oasis of calm. Beautiful setting, lovely bedroom and fantastic food. The hospitality was also first class.

Review 18:We loved everything! The hotel is 4 minutes walk from the centre of Brantome (so you can leave your car in the private car parking and forget it there) and is set beautifully on a garden terrace with different levels, which are sun-facing. The room was gorgeously decorated and so was the bathroom. We received the most amazing welcome from the owners and were served a great breakfast on our balcony. We could not try the restaurant because we were there for a wedding but we will definitely go back for what I'm sure will be another great stay.

Review 19:My partner and I stayed at the hotel this week, as we were attending wedding appointments I the area. The staff were fantastic, the breakfast is delicious and you can tell it is all homemade and locally sources! We will definitely stay again and advise our wedding guest to stay also! Thank you for having us, Sian

Review 20:- our room, which was not in the main building, is difficult to reach ( by motorbike)

Review 21:- the restaurant. Excellent menus at reasonable prices - very nicely renovated building. Renovation not " overdone"

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:The decor was stylish without losing the character of the building's age. The welcoming and friendly staff and owners. The close proximity to town and the fact that there is off-street parking

Review 24:The rooms had been beautifully renovated and furnished to a very high standard with some quirky touches. The garden was lovely with a fabulous pool. The staff were very friendly and the atmosphere was welcoming. Breakfast was lovely. Don't be put off by the location - once you are in the hotel you are really tucked away and secluded.

Review 25:Would have liked to have stayed longer...

Review 26:Stayed in new apartment, which was a lovely design & smart ensuite. The owners take much pride in their property & facilities. Pool looked great, though weather less so. Evening meal & breakfast were fantastic, local produce presented well.

Review 27:Nothing to not like about this place

Review 28:Excellent location. Stylish design. Immaculately clean. Superb pool area. Warm welcome. Excellent breakfast of fresh, locally sourced produce. Restaurant food outstanding quality.

Review 29:I suppose the room could have been slightly larger

Review 30:All of it - gorgeous room, great facilities, fantastic restaurant and friendly staff. The lovely pool was an added bonus. The staff went out of their way to help us with our young baby and even provided a baby bath. Would have liked to have stayed for longer.

Review 31:Everything! This is the second time we 've stayed here and well go again. It's within walking distance of the town and the location is lovely.

Review 32:Only one very minor quibble - a small fridge in our room would have been handy to store milk/ wine for refreshments on our terrace...

Review 33:Quality and finish of room Comfort of room Quality of breakfast Restaurant Proximity to town

Review 34:no wi-fi signal in room and they had booked a double bed when two singles requested but soon sorted with a matress on the floor

Review 35:the meal was first class and the service excellent

Review 36:Beautiful, clean and comfortable room, excellent pool and fabulous breakfasts. A warm welcome from Florence and Christophe - nothing to fault, we could have stayed much longer.

Review 37:Dinner in the restaurant was good but not to the standard other reviews led us to believe. Parking at the top of a very narrow and steep lane made access difficult.

Review 38:Welcoming staff, bedroom design and facilities.

Review 39:Bathroom was a triumph of style over practicality. Car parking was shaded by trees but when it rained clean car was made dirty.

Review 40:Stylish bedroom. Very good menu. Unusual.

Review 41:This is an exceptional place to stay. The rooms are spread over the hillside and are set in beautiful gardens. The design and furnishing of the rooms has been done to a very high standard. An added bonus is a small swimming pool - very welcome on a hot summer's day. The owner's are very welcoming and friendly. This would be a good base for exploring the area. Wish we could have stayed more than 1 night.

Review 42:Evening meal exceptional, though breakfast at €12.50 pp slightly overpriced. Christophe and Florence very helpful and passionate about providing a first class service for their guests.

Review 43:The complicated room door locking arrangements

Review 44:The young owners of this hotel refer to it as a hotel run as a b & b, more personal than would be expected from a conventional hotel. They certainly did everything possible to make our short stay enjoyable. Comfortable facilities a short walk down to the charming centre of Brantôme.

Review 45:Lovely hotel in quiet position yet close to centre of Brantome. Excellent food. Friendly, helpful, staff.

Review 46:A really amazing stay. We felt really looked after from start to finish.

Review 47:Leaving

Review 48:The staff was wonderful.

Review 49:Friendly owners, lovely room with a private terrace. The hotel is very tastefully done. Beautiful outside area. Would definitely go back again.

Review 50:Great location, a short walk from centre, but able to park outside. Beautiful stylish room and a lovely small garden. Idyllic

Review 51:Superb tastefully appointed bedroom.

Review 52:Wonderful family owned and run boutique hotel, nothing was too much trouble. They made my stay truely memorable.

Review 53:Beautiful room in old building behind hotel. Lovely swimming pool.

Review 54:Everything was amazing and perfect.

Review 55:The hotel and all staff were perfect. Friendly, welcoming and went above and beyond to look after us.

Review 56:Delightful staff, wonderful ambiance, fresh and stylish. Attention given to every detail

Review 57:The weather!

Review 58:Everything

Review 59:Beautiful hotel, lovely location, fantastic hosts. Perfect for a few days rest. We thoroughly enjoyed staying at this hotel and highly recommend it.

Review 60:Restaurant not really suitable for children

Review 61:Room. Bathroom. Friendly welcome.

Review 62:Can't think of anything!

Review 63:The food, the bed, the privacy, the cupboard space

Review 64:Welcome, ambience, decor, food, drink - perfect!

Review 65:Great stay only one night but will remember for future holidays . Excellant conversion of barn ,no faults wonderfull meal and staff.

Review 66:We liked the location as we could walk into Brantome which is a beautiful place. The room was very cosy and welcoming. We liked the enterprise that the owners had taken to create the hotel including the terraced swimming pool. The restuarant was excellent. Staff and owner very friendly and approachable. We felt at home

Review 67:Towels are the old fashioned cloth towels, not the terry cloth kind.

Review 68:A beautiful garden hotel. Room large and clean. Even has a hot water pot to make tea or coffee, unheard of in France. Hotel has a very good restaurant with reasonable price. Very friendly staff. Less than five minutes walk to center Brantome.

Review 69:We loved everything about this hotel.the owners were more than accommodating .the detail and love they have put into every aspect of this lovely hotel and restaurant is evident. We would stay here again, and defiantly reccomend it to our friends! Well done!

Review 70:Everything was outstanding. Special mention of the 2 evening meals which were excellent and our room ( no.9 ) We would certainly stay there again. A most charming and welcoming couple.

Review 71:We had booked 2 nights, but on arrival we found that it was so nice we decided to stay a third night. It is owned by a lovely, dedicated and extremely helpful couple -Christophe and Florence. The room was so stylish, comfortable and spacious..with an amazing bathroom. The bed was very comfortable, particularly with its linen bedding. Yes, it is located on the main road to the town centre but the garden has a peaceful atmosphere and once inside the room the traffic was blocked out by double glazing and timber shutters. What a find.

Review 72:This hotel was well located for exploring charming Brantôme and the surrounding area. Both breakfast and dinner were delicious, the hotel rooms, while modest in size, attractive and comfortable and the owners warm, welcoming hosts. We two couples loved our stay here!

Review 73:The owners treat this property like a jewel. The rooms are modern, clean, comfortable, and well laid out. Their consideration is reflectedin little things: a warm greeting, lovely breakfast with homemade jams, local butter, farm yogurt, and local 'pain'. Upon our departure, the husband/chef came out to our car to bid us farewell. 'Seeyou again' is more like it.

Review 74:Nothing.

Review 75:Rooms were beautiful -- very comfortably appointed with lots of natural fibres and nice touches like dressing gowns and slippers. Breakfast was delightful (sweet fruits and fresh bakery basket plus yoghurt, juice and coffee) and the staff were also extremely helpful. Restaurant was great, too. We had a wonderful three-course meal and the Chef (owner) even came out at the end of the meal to chat with us.

Review 76:Thoughtfully arranged and beautifully organized rooms, plenty of space and light, immaculately clean. Cordial welcome and attention during our stay. The design of the hotel and the food in the restaurant are the result of true artists.

Review 77:We did not like the shared shower/wash room/toilet facility because only one person can use it at a time. We also feel that a hand rail in the shower would help older guests (!) The shutter doors have a drop over latch that could be difficult to operate in an emergency when one is sleepy. These are only minor things.

Review 78:We liked the staff and owners - they are lovely people. The food was excellent and the hotel very well equipped with pool, rest areas and one's own balcony for breakfast. One of the best hotels we know.

Review 79:The difficulty of getting luggage from car to the room. The price was toohigh for what was provided. At €150 we still had to pay extra forbreakfast and compared to other places that we stayed at in the region,a fairer price would be €100.

Review 80:The room was recently updated and well presented.

Review 81:My husband didn't like the cups without a handle! But otherwise I couldn't fault it.

Review 82:Its a delightful hotel, the room was beautifully decorated, clean and the bathroom great. The owners were very nice and friendly. We didn't eat in the restaurant, although I wished we had, the dining room looked very stylish. The town was a few minutes walk, and was very pretty, can't wait to come back! Would recommend this hotel to our friends.

Review 83:Nothing - it scored one hundred percent by us.

Review 84:Very warm welcome. Convenient to town. Pleasant ownership & staff. Food was locally and freshly sourced. Breakfasts and dinners superb. Room (easy access requested) met every expectation and wish.

Review 85:lack of satellite tv

Review 86:large bathroom, comfortable bedroom, lovely facilities. Ate in the restaurant twice and food superb with locally sourced product, breakfast a delightful selection. Hotel a short walk from town centre and well worth paying that bit extra to stay here.

Review 87:pool was smaller than the appears on the photos. The restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere and felt a bit too formal for a 3*

Review 88:room was very stylish and balcony was nice. Food was delicious.

Review 89:The restaurant is excellent so you need to book if you think you would like to eat there as it gets booked up.

Review 90:A relaxing small boutique hotel where the owners were always on hand to help. The children loved the pool and the location was fantastic.

Review 91:Excellent accommodation, beautifully presented. Very helpful owners. Dinner was really good, as was the breakfast which was all locally produced. Would thoroughly recommend.

Review 92:The restaurant is not ideal for children.(a fussy 6 year old!) Staff were fabulous but there was no flexibility away from the gourmet menu.

Review 93:The bath was amazing and design of the rooms extremely tasteful. The owners were extremely helpful and friendly.

Review 94:Nothing !!

Review 95:The accommodation is beautifully presented , decor lovely , very comfortable and cozy . The restaurant is excellent and we enjoyed a real great meal . The lady owner/manager was really friendly , helpful and concerned that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. The breakfast is amazing . All local produce . And can be served on your terrace outside your room. The staff were lovely . This hotel is a little gem . Treat yourself !!

Review 96:Everything, very good rooms & showers, beautifully designed pool area with relaxing gardens. Tasty fresh breakfast, fabulous evening meal. It's a little gem !

Review 97:We thought at 130 a night it was overpriced when you consider it'scurrent facilities. The parking is limited although if you get a parkit's right outside. The rooms were much smaller than other hotels wehave stayed in on this trip but the price was 30 - 20 euros more.

Review 98:The garden area looked nice although we didn't use it. The poolwould be good in the summer months. I appreciated the iron andironing board.

Review 99:A beautifully decorated old building with new out buildings for the accommodation. Well appointed and comfortable. The owner allowed us to use there garage to park the motorcycle in overnight. The dinner was very well presented as was the breakfast.

Review 100:Our failure to book dinner when we booked the room; strongly encouraged!

Review 101:Everything, from owner-manger's polite greeting to sincere farewell: room cleanliness, comfort and appointments; location, in close walking proximity to village and abbey; delightful, freshly-prepared breakfast, including juices and viennoiserie.

Review 102:Food. Not enough choice and no good for vegetarians

Review 103:Location, room, gardens

Review 104:This is a star find. Ultra modern behind a traditional facade. The food is excellent staff attentive, eveything you could ask for

Review 105:Breakfast was limited.

Review 106:Very comfortable room and front courtyard. Well appointed. Excellent location with short walk to town / island.

Review 107:Nothing really!

Review 108:Very friendly and nice owners/staff, excellent restaurant with local food products!

Review 109:The hospitality of the owners, and the high standards of room and meals served at the restaurant.

Review 110:Everything, very close to the centre of Brantome (which is beautiful), very friendly and helpful staff/owners and lovely food.

Review 111:Not staying longer

Review 112:Very comfy. Beautifully prented, lovely friendky and helpful staff. Delicious food. A hugely enjoyable experience.

Review 113:Breakfast is pricey.

Review 114:Superb decor, intelligent design. Very comfortable. Convenient location.
