Reviews for Chambres d'Hôtes Au Nid des Thés
Review 1:A charming place to say when in the Dordogne.. located in the center of Brantome, on a very nice street. Sandrine was very welcoming and helpful, helped us with the bags and restaurant. The perfect host! This was the nicest place we stayed on our trip to France! room was very big, nice decoration, bathroom was also huge with 2 sinks and separated toilet. nothing bad to say about this place :)
Review 2:The room was comfortable and quiet with a flavour of home. The gathering or guest area was very nice with a beautiful deck for sitting and having a glass of wine after a long day of exploring. The owner was very pleasant and helpful. Her lunches, she made in the afternoon were great. The breakfast was fresh each day using local breads and products. It is very centrally located to the town and shops.
Review 3:At times Wi Fi very slow.
Review 4:We loved the location and when you opened your windows it was great hearing the French chatter. We loved being entertained by French musicians. Great B & B.
Review 5:Very nice place in a very pretty town. Good location, delicious breakfast with small special touch (fresh cake or berries from just from the market served on the terrace. Very nice and kind, helpful owners. We enjoyed our staying and recommend this place.
Review 6:The proprietor was lovely and made us feel very welcome even though we arrived very early. The hotel is in the middle of Brantome, with easy access to restaurants and the car park. She served a special treat at each breakfast, in addition to the regular breads, but no fruit.
Review 7:Very pleasant & welcoming young couple. Everywhere was well presented and very clean. Nice to stay in a place with atmosphere. Homemade jams for breakfast were an added bonus.
Review 8:Check In times could be a bit earlier and checkout could be a bit later but that's being very fussy. Pillows.
Review 9:Right in the middle of Brantome, with good facilities and a nice well equipped room. Breakfast was also enjoyable.
Review 10:Not really their fault - but only the twin bedroom was left! That was the only aspect that wasn't perfect.
Review 11:Sandrine was such a lovely and welcoming host. Really helped us understand to get the best out of Brantome and made us feel valued and welcomed into her home. Beautiful setting to eat breakfast out the back as well - Brantome is a beautiful town.
Review 12:Nothing about the chambres d'hotes. Eating places are limited some days of the week.
Review 13:Large airy room with large modern bathroom (shower in bath). Quiet at night. Setting is a small historic town but there's plenty to see and do including the abbaye, river cruises and the Friday market. There's a large choice of restaurants within a few minutes walk though most are closed on Wednesday. Sandrine (owner) also runs a tea shop in the house which has home-made food during the day. Sandrine also provides ideas of local places to visit and speaks good English.
Review 14:Thumbs up to everything!
Review 15:There's a lot to like here. Sandrine and Sebastian are wonderful hosts, and the freshly baked breakfast every day is a highlight. The room is spacious and the property is well located in the heart of Brantome. We enjoyed a great, relaxing week here.
Review 16:Nothing
Review 17:The welcome received from Sandrine was a wonderful start to our stay in the beautiful Brantome. The breakfasts were delicious, the position great and both Sandrine and Sabastien were gracious hosts. The accommodation was excellent. Highly recommended
Review 18:This is a great B&B with plenty of charm and character. The hosts are helpful and friendly. Pleasant breakfasts are served on the terrace. Free parking is easily accessible and there are many good places to eat in this idyllic French town.
Review 19:The only room available when we booked at very short notice was a twin, which would not have been our choice, but it was a worthwhile compromise to stay at Au Nid des Thés.
Review 20:Sandrine gave us such a warm welcome and was exceptionally helpful in suggesting the best places for dinner; her English is excellent. The position in the centre of Brantome is perfect allowing an easy stroll to dinner and the sights. The room was very clean and comfortable.
Review 21:The owners were welcoming and friendly. Sandrine spoke excellent English. The beds were comfortable and the large bathroom very well appointed. A quiet location in the centre of town, with the best breakfast I have ever had in a B&B, home made jams, breads, cakes etc.. A super few days, we will be back next year!
Review 22:We had absolutely no complaints; Au Nid des Thes is a perfect place to stay. The hosts couldn't have been friendlier and more helpful to us and their hospitality, food and thoughtfulness impressed us time and time again. The room was very French, with simple but elegant country-style furniture; the bathroom was huge and equipped with stylish modern facilities.
Review 23:Located in small pedestrianised street so it was VERY noisy overnight & early morning from bars & morning deliveries so we had to close the windows, despite the heat to get a decent night's sleep. Not even temporary parking so luggage had to be carried from parking area to the B&B.
Review 24:Charming & helpful owners. Very efficient double glazing. Lovely fresh breakfast each day served at sensible times. Use of kitchen 'frig. Cleanliness of room & en-suite.
Review 25:The rooms are stylish and comfortable. The owners are friendly and Helpful. The breakfast is delicious and never-ending, pain, croissants, yogurt, crepes and a wonderful selection of teas. Bliss!
Review 26:The chambre d'hote was in the best position you could imagine to make the most of your visit to Brantome...right in the middle of the pedestrian street on the island. The rooms are beautifully styled, the staff are lovely and the breakfast that is included in the price was plentiful and excellent, including homemade cherry jam made by the patron's mother. Would definitely go back.

Review 47:Excellent breakfast, very comfortable & well located B&B, charming hosts...
Review 48:Good position. Friendly,helpful couple.
Review 49:The personal touch on arrival and general friendliness.
Review 50:We loved the location. The property was charming as was the lady in charge we had a very comfortable stay and would definatey stay again and will also recommend to friends and family.
Review 51:The location in the centre of Brantome meant easy access to the wonderful canals, abbeye, shops and restaurants. Breakfast was a simple but very well done Continental with homemade preserves. Sandrine was very helpful and the room was large, well equipped and very clean. Excellent all round and we would stay there again.
Review 52:- As usual in France only one blanket- We had our room in direction to the shopping area. In the night, the garbage was taken loudly away by the public service and in the early morning some shop owners started handicraft work - BUT: There are also quiet rooms on the other site, so it depends on the room.
Review 53:- Very friendly owners- Not expensive - Wonderful teas and bistro eating - Not too small rooms (as sometimes usual in France) - Nice bathroom (with much space)
Review 54:The advantage of the location being in the middle of the village on a pedestrianised street becomes a disadvantage when it comes to car parking. We had a good 5/10 min walk from the car park to the B&B which is no problem so long as you are travelling light!
Review 55:The owners spoke very good English and made us feel very welcome. Breakfast on the terrace was lovely with homemade preserves and pancakes. The bedroom and bathroom were both a great size which is quite unusual for many French hotels/B&Bs.
Review 56:A warm welcome; a clean and spacious room - with a very comfortable bed - and bathroom; easy, free wi-fi; and excellent breakfasts, especially the home-made jams and marmalade. Perfect location for a very relaxing few days, especially for exploring on foot.
Review 57:Be prepared for a lot of early morning sounds of garbage collection.
Review 58:Our host was very gracious and helpful. The bed was comfortable and the B+B is located on a nice pedestrian street. The market and the caves near the abbey were mysterious and fascinating.
Review 59:Not a dislike - just a warning that as with most old towns, luggage must be brought in from nearby public parking. The nearest one has restrictions and some other parking is metered, but there are free public parks which are only 5-10 mins away.
Review 60:Wonderful position in a narrow, mainly pedestrian cobblestone street in the small island type village of Brantome. Host, Sandrine, is delightful, friendly and helpful. Our room was large and comfortable, if not lavish, and the bathroom was new and very spacious too. Breakfast offerings are fairly simple by some standards, but Sandrine usually makes something different each day for her guests - we enjoyed her crepes! A good value for money place to stay with a really nice vibe.
Review 61:nothing
Review 62:We were given a warm welcome on our arrival at Au Nid des Thes. The hotel is situated on a pedestrian street in the small town and has easy access to shops and restaurants. There is no special carpark but parking can be found easily nearby. We were in the "Caramel" room on the second floor. We had a very comfortable night in this spacious room with large bathroom. They point out on booking that there is no TV but that did not matter to us. Breakfast was delicious and included in the price. The small hotel was really good value for money and we wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to others and will certainly be back.
Review 63:Nothing springs to mind
Review 64:Our stay was excellent. The owners were friendly and helpful. The accommodation was first class and breakfast at teh communal table great fun.
Review 65:Nothing could be faulted.
Review 66:The hospitality given to us by Sandrine was exceptional in every way.Nothing was too much for her to ensure we made the best of our time there.
Review 67:Old fashioned decor and colour scheme. No hair dryer.
Review 68:Setting in dead centre of beautiful old Brantome. Lovely welcome intypical, old style, French town house. Brand new shower room.Interesting breakfast with melon jam and coconut spread.
Review 69:Breakfast on the terrace with homemade 'goodies'. Large, airy room with a balcony overlooking the prettiest lane in the heart of Brantome.
Review 70:Friendly owners, spotless room, great location, good breakfast with home-baked surprise each morning.
