Reviews for Résidence "Le Golfe Bleu"
Review 1:Cons: No oven. No shower curtain or somewhere to put the shower head on the wall. The pre-ordered baguette and croissant quality not consistent - one day is fantastic French bakery quality the next day is mass produced supermarket quality. Very short reception hours and changes throughout the week. No printing facilities when reception is shut - we need to print out the Airport express bus tickets (as the website instructed,€20 one way to Nice airport) only to find out they take cash and card as you get on the bus!! Also if you plan to spend the evening in Monaco or Menton after 8.30pm (without having the car with u) - think about how you going to get home, because it's almost impossible to get a taxi from Menton or Monaco, we were lucky to get a taxi on the first 2 nights from Monaco €25) but were caught out from Monaco and from Menton on the following 2 outings and had to walk home (40-50mins walk, not too bad). Bus 100 do run a night service N100 on Thursday, Friday and Saturday but very infrequent and only from selected stops.
Review 2:Pros: Fantastic view from our balcony. Private bay area within 5mins walking distance (using your room key for the short walk access). Bus stop to Menton, Monaco, Nice and Nice Airport express on the door step (€1.5 single or 10 tickets for €10 on 1 route only, we used bus 100 which goes to both Monaco and Menton) 10mins walk to the local train station. Good knives and pots+pans in kitchen with dishwasher, microwave and 2 electric hobs. 1 dishwasher tablet and a couple of sachets of shower gel/shampoo and a small soap to get you started on arrival, good water pressure for shower. Laundry does not need you to input the washing powder. Other reviews complained about the internet but we find its fine and €6 for the entire stay (10 days) is not too bad. another €8 will get you the sheets and pillow cases plus towels. You can order baguette and croissant daily for the following morning (pick up from reception from 8:30 onwards). Parking space is convenient. Staff are very helpful and friendly. Plenty of supermarkets in both Monaco n Menton direction but all require a short cycle or short bus ride. Oh and you've got to try this Pizzeria if you are planning to visit Menton: Pizzeria Angelo, 15 Avenue de Verdun, 06500 Menton, France. It's proper Italian, best Pizza we've had, even the deserts are home made Italian, by far the best coffee we had in the 10 days we were in the France.
Review 3:Worn, old decor. Would benefit from a refresh. But I was not there for the sea, or the fun. Unclear directions (and somewhat puzzling) on how they expected me to leave the apartment (all linen in a black sack, all the trash carried out, etc. One would imagine they'd do the cleanup afterwards, but, obviously, they keep it to a bare minimum. Not entirely set up for disabled access.
Review 4:Cheap (for Monte Carlo). Nice views. Has a pool (which I did not use), relatively close to public transport
Review 5:1) The fridge was rather noisy. It's located near the bad, so don't be surprised when waking up at night from loud cracking noises. 2) Seems that car lift used to get in and out of parking doesn't have a UPS. On the day we were leaving there were problems with electricity due to the storm. I was in the car in the lift on the floor -2 going to floor 0 to get out of car park, when suddenly the lights went of, and lift has dropped the car to the floor -4 and stopped. I was blocked for some time, then it started working again. It's a serious safety issue and administration should take measures to avoid this happening in the future.
Review 6:Really great location, beach nearby, but make sure you have a car to be able to get around.
Review 7:Steps to pool not easy if you are very out of shape- reminded me that i must go on a diet ;P
Review 8:Fantastic location overlooking Monte Carlo. Great little kitchen, well equipped, ideal for self catering as we were on a budget. There was also a good size fridge-freezer. Kids loved the swimming pool which was popular and well shared with other guests. Frequent bus service for Euro 1.50 to Monte Carlo one way or Menton the other way. We found the Supermarche U near Menton on the bus route provided best value for groceries (10 mins on bus). The supermarket in St Roman was q expensive although only a 25 minute walk towards Monte Carlo.
Review 9:The beds are not very comfortable
Review 10:Great location, not far from the beach nor Monaco by walk.. When is not sunny u can enjoy the pool.. value for money very very good ! Nice billingual staff
Review 11:We managed to bring all the stuff for cooking by the car so it wasn't really bothering that we have to find any supermarket...
Review 12:In the four days we have taken the train to Cannes, bus to nice and Monte Carlo... Very convenient location... There is a small pass to go to the beach, which is very close...
Review 13:No one on duty for late check in. DIfficult to understand garage parking process; could not find the steps to the sea and had to really hunt for steps for pool. Need better signs and more info in the binder in the unit such as directions to train station, local restaurant list for Menton and hours. This is a great location and with a little more signs and information could be a fabulous destination!
Review 14:Location to beautiful sea and cleanliness
Review 15:It was nice to have onsite parking, however, it was quite a chore to get the car in and out of the garage several times per day. Be aware there are lots of unusual extra charges added on at the end of the stay. This was not clearly noted in advance. The staff was only onsite a few hours per day so if you needed anything else when they weren't there you were out of luck.
Review 16:It was very close (less than 10 min) driving distance into Monaco. A lower price alternative to stay.
Review 17:Extra fees for everything - towels, bedsheets, wifi, phone, cleaning. Our phone and internet was not connected for the first 2 days of the stay and we could not get it connected because the reception is only open for a few hours every day.
Review 18:We were a little bit surprised that we had to clean our room. We threw away our garbage and washed the dishes, but when we went to the receptionist, she told us that we need to clean the floors as well. We did it of course, but we did not expect to do it. We had to pay for internet 2 euro per night. It is not big of a deal, but it is strange as most hotel/hostels have it for free. Other than that the personnel was friendly and I would love to stay there if I have a chance.
Review 19:The place is nice. We had a marvelous view with the sea. The residence is nearby the bus station,so we did not have to take our car. The bus costed only 1.50 euro and it took us to Nice, Monaco and Cannes, which is great because we did not have to find parking slots. Other than that, it was relatively clean, comfortable and there was heating and hot water all the time.
Review 20:The beach was poor and the walk down to the beach was very difficult- hundreds of steps!! I did it once!! Not for the infirm. Didn't like having to pay extra for bedding. No restaurants nearby.
Review 21:Facilities in apartment ok generally. View from balcony beautiful. Buses into menton and Nice very cheap( but infrequent and full)
Review 22:WiFi was extra. Was not set up at arrival, as I asked, and then did not work. Ever. The technician came and did not find solutions, apart from blaming my computer. Bad attitude towards service. I had to put on the linens on the bed and was supposed to put them in a bag as I left. Reception hours too short
Review 23:Location Space Price Some staffers's positive attitude
Review 24:the apartment was smaller than last year, we wasn't like the toilet in the bathroom, when you re 7 this isn't practical at all
Review 25:the place is beautiful and the access is perfect.
Review 26:the night incident with the swimming-pool when some hooligans were diving and making much noise.I felt very uncomfortable as my room was on the ground floor and everywhere you could see the warning of burglery. There should have been some guardiance in the residence. One has to shut windows and no AC in the room! no food shops around.
Review 27:the green area equipment clean rooms and the territory

Review 37:Spacious room and terras. Kichin was well equipped.
Review 38:Parking is so difficult if you have a big car.
Review 39:Location is great. View is great.
Review 40:Air conditionung.....missing!
Review 41:Everything. Location.
Review 42:All, exept WI-FI
Review 43:On était satisfait, rien à dire
Review 44:Location, location, location. Good pool, good access to the beach, great place to walk to Monaco.
Review 45:Service is poor - staff not willing to help. Room was not up to its standard - not what we saw pictures online and we couldn't cancel. Two of us had to leave two days before due date as we were not comfortable. Will never stay there again.
Review 46:The apts. are dated. Very much so. The buildings could use a coat of paint and updated kitchens/ bathrooms...
Review 47:We found the staff very helpful and flexible. We made a request to not be put on the ground floor and were pleasantly surprised by the view we had on the 3rd floor. Absolutely stunning! The staff made an effort to speak English with us even though we spoke French. The place was clean and well stocked. Excellent location and value for money!
Review 48:Space was limited. Furnishings were a little worn. However, we weren't paying for shiny and new.
Review 49:The location was stunning. The proximity to the bus and train was ideal. Free parking was great. We loved the pool and the view over the sea. Staff were helpful and friendly.
Review 50:We had a two bedroom but the master was very small.Kept dropping the internet the first two of our 4 days???? Parking outside is terrible but underground is excellent once you get use to it
Review 51:Great Location between Monoco and Menton. Menton was a great find. Nice, clean pool area. Spectacular view over the Medit. Patio was fantastic
Review 52:sheets not included in price, small room for 4 people, no shops in walking distance, no restaurants
Review 53:good connection to Monaco and Nice /all coast/, 20 minutes walk to the Monaco alongside the sea
Review 54:The internet access. It's so crazy that becomes fun.
Review 55:Most of all, the location. It's a 15 minutes walking (uphill) fron the Roquebrune-Cap Martin train station, and 3 minutes walking (uphill) the bus station, where you can go to Monte Carlo paying E$ 1,50 (a pack of ten tickets will cost only E$ 10,00). It's in front of the beach, but to get there you must walk trought hundreds of stairs, so think twice if you have any locomotion problems or old people with you. The view is just amazing from the balconies of the apartments, that are not luxuous but clean and comfortable. Its's a residential only area, and there aren't restaurants, groceries, supermarkets or any shop nearby -- be prepared, so. The staff is very attentious, but keep in mind that this is not a hotel, but a condominiun -- and the front desk is not open all the time. Joséphine, the main keeper, and her auxiliar Rita, made the most they could to help us during our stay: they found a technician to fix our internet access on a sunday afternoon, and gave us a brand new coffee machine just because ours had a broken lid. In fact, the Golfe Bleu would have been perfect if it wasn't for the totally mad internet access that almost put us crazy. At the checkout they even cancelled the amount they charge for it (E$ 6,00 by week). And promised that they will fix it on the future, what will be just great for a great place.
Review 56:For checking out do not forget to make an appointment with the stuff in the day before departure. Do not rely on the garage-elevator too much. Apparently it is out of order very frequently.
Review 57:Location and staff - they are very kind and speak real English:-)
Review 58:There are not any market & cafe neaby appartment.
Review 59:Amasing view to the sea & coast, beautiful nature around: mountains with wonderful plant life, unforgettable "promenad" along the sea. Perfect location for to travel along the Cote d'azur by bus or by car. Good equipment kitchen. We had spacious panoramic terrace with table, it was very romantic to have a meal (ap.10) There are sunbed & tent for to have sunbath in ap. Good WiFi.
Review 60:We walked and caught the bus but would have preferred a bar, restaurant and boulangerie nearby, was really quite on its own. Beach a long way down but we still had a great time and the exercise was good.
Review 61:Fantastic staff great views .a bit tired and dated BUT spotlessly clean and comfortable. Great value, lovely pool.
Review 62:No air, so 2nd bedroom was hot during July stay.
Review 63:View was beautiful from patio, parked the car for the 4 days and used the train (7 min walk). Nice Pool.
Review 64:No shoping and restorants arround, need go to Menton or Monte Carlo, but it is not a big problem seens its next stop by train. Also no parking inside for bigger car(we had Mersedes Vito)
Review 65:Location, sea view, train station to everywhere on franch riviera right here.
Review 66:On arrival I had to check the 40 item inventory eg 9 forks, 9 spoons, 9 plates, clothes rack, 2 baskets etc. I had to count each item and report to the reception if something was missing within 24 hrs. The bedroom was dark because we couldnt open the shutters or everyone walking by looked directly into our bedroom. You had to sit in the bath to have a shower as there was no curtain or wall. Not in walking distance of any shop, though you could order bread from the reception the day before. Extra charge for the linen.
Review 67:Close to bus for Monaco or Menton. (Up the hill) Lovely view from the balcony. Rail lines below but not an issue. Well equpped spacious appartment. Lots of info provided.
Review 68:-The cleanup while checking out -WIFI could have been free too -Towels/Linens should be included in the price and should not be extra charges

Review 83:Very comfortable, well equipped apartments right next to Monaco - it takes about 35 - 40 minutes walking step up the path along the sea.
