Reviews for Résidence Pierre & Vacances Les Citronniers
Review 1:Great place to stay, near the town and the seafront. Very good value for money, spotless accommodation, friendly staff and all you could need for a comfortable week or two.
Review 2:We had problems checking in as we were told to check in after five, unfortunately there was no one at the reception. Luckily there was a lovely couple who helped us as they spoke good French.
Review 3:Value for money apartments to explore the south of france
Review 4:We arrived at 13.00 but had to wait untill 17.00 to check in . There was a notice to allow us to phone a no and get a code to access the keys but it was not clear. An email would have helped to explain this. Also we had a bad smell in the apt
Review 5:Very centrally located , staff very nice
Review 6:There was no one at the reception, even though it was supposed to be open. We had to call and take our keys from a safe box.
Review 7:It was a great place to cook and sleep. We had a view on a courtyard, so breakfast on the balcony was an extra bonus. The location is very central, close to everywhere and easy to find.
Review 8:I cansealed my trip due very important reasons and asked to change the date of my arrival several months later. The hotel sharply refused. I didnt ask to get money back, I only try to transfer dates from september to next may. It was very formal response.
Review 9:nothing
Review 10:Charge for wifi. A washing machine would be more useful than a dish washer in the apartment.
Review 11:Location in the city center not far from the beach (5 minutes). Well renovated building and rooms.
Review 12:Can't use the balcony when the air conditioner is on because of the hot air coming from it.
Review 13:Very good location.3- 5 min walk to beach. I can say that the area is quiet.
Review 14:Grumpy staff on arrival. Not nice at all, language barrier difficult but a smile would have eased things a bit. Totally different pleasant staff on checkout. Also, directly on a busy road just where the Vespas like to accelerate at all hours. Need a speed bump as it was impossible to sleep with window open and otherwise quiet. Double glazing excellent though as was Aircon but very noisy otherwise.
Review 15:Great value for money and roomy size of apartment, photos don't do it justice really, much larger. Very comfortable sofa bed, ideal for a family/self catering. Lovely Balcony and its views of town and mountains. Lift and Doorcode makes your time in and out easy. Minutes from Gare, shops and beach and much of beautiful Menton.
Review 16:We paid for 2 weeks premium (unlimited) access to the Wifi. The quality of the connection was OK and not consistently good. We would have to occasionally reconnect our devices to have access to the Internet. It wasn't a big deal for us, and it was the only point that we would raise regarding our stay. Everything else was great.
Review 17:The location is really excellent - 5 mins from the beach and an assortment of stores (pharmacy, supermarket etc) and restaurants. The apartment was recently refurbished and it was fully equipped with bed linen and kitchen utensils. No kettle, but no problem for us as we don't drink tea. The sofa bed was, surprisingly, very comfortable and sturdy.
Review 18:24 days of hammering drilling from 7 in the morning untill 21 in evening even on saturdays and sundays. non english, french og german speaking person in the lobby. room crowded with old furniture from the 70ties
Review 19:the location
Review 20:The corridors inside leading to rooms are very dark and gloomy and in need of a spruce up. The rubbish area needs more bins or clearing more regularly. The balcony furniture is too big, so it's a bit cramped, but good to have that outside space.
Review 21:Room facilities are all you need for a holiday stay. Fantastic shower and very comfortable bed (sofabed). Our balcony overlooked the gardens in the hotel next door, with beautiful buildings beyond and then mountains in the distance. Breakfast on the balcony in the autumn sunshine was bliss! We had to ask for our lock to be fixed - reported it late afternoon and by 9.30 the following morning, a handyman came and put a new barrel in and provided us with new keys - all very efficient and with a smile. Staff were very friendly and helpful and spoke good English.
Review 22:The tiny balcony overlooking a noisy street. I booked in July for the end of October and requested a garden view room, but this did not happen.
Review 23:The central location, clean bed sheets, friendly welcome.
Review 24:No english tv No electric kettle A lot of street noise at night Pay wifi (not expensive but the tourist office was free!) Had to be out by 10am on last day which mid week seemed excessive.
Review 25:Value for money
Review 26:No English channels on TV, safe in room did not work.
Review 27:Great location centre of town many shops and cafes and near beach. Flat had balcony great for breakfast and coffee, cosy bedsit bed folds down easily and slept well. Bathroom was very good great shower.
Review 28:Airconditioning temperature could not be controlled and was too warm.
Review 29:Easy walk from train station and the city. Clean and comfortable beds and kitchen. Excellent staff.
Review 30:1: room wasn't ready for check in and it was late at 5pm. 2: we asked for parking but there was none, they said we hadn't booked it. 3: when asking for directions to alternative parking none were given. 4: while we were waiting for our room we asked if they had a map so we could find some parking and they said they did not have a map of the town. Funnily enough an hour later when we asked where we could find a good restaurant we were handed 2 copies of a map of the town! 5: it was not stated anywhere I booking.com or in the room or reception that you needed to provide your own toilet paper! Dish washing liquid, dishwasher tablets etc. not something you carry with you when travelling around Europe for 5 weeks and only staying in this place for 2 nights. Also no one told us that the shops were not open on a Sunday for purchasing. 6: air conditioning worked in the room but within an hour the roo was awash with water. We let reception know and though they changed our room the air conditioning was broken in the second room. They did fix this the next day. 7: no information for guests in the room. 8: incredibly noisy as facing street. Didn't help that we had to have windows open as air con didn't work the first night. Still noisy on the second night.
Review 31:Location was very good. Close to restaurants and the beach. The apartment was a reasonable size for 2 adults and 2 children. Shower water pressure was good.
Review 32:the arrangements for people who arrive outside reception hours are very inadequate, even though we did inform them by email of our late arrival.
Review 33:easy access to all facilities shops, bars, restaurants and the beach
Review 34:Nice place! Close to everything you need! Highly recomended
Review 35:The close proximity to everything.
Review 36:It was dusty in the room.
Review 37:Great location.
Review 38:Staff at the receprion not so friendly. No hair dryer in the bathroom.
Review 39:Nice appartment, small but well organized. Kitchen well equiped.
Review 40:The weather and the area
Review 41:everything
Review 42:Bathroom smell
Review 43:Location.view from balcony
Review 44:No kettle
Review 45:Lovely location
Review 46:no free wifi, bed for a child needs safety rails
Review 47:very nice stuff, everything is simple but clean, good location
Review 48:Difficult to find anything to dislike however this is a self catering accommodation and should be booked with this fully in mind and is why we enjoyed our stay but for others this may not be so.
Review 49:Location Staff Value for money relative to price paid Menton itself is beautiful
Review 50:Bed was uncomfortable, suffered from severe itchiness both nights, pillows were disgusting. No kettle & toaster, limited cutlery & crockery. Floor was dirty. Have stayed in far better for the same price.
Review 51:This is just a appartment house. Nobody is at the reception. i've been there for almost 1 week and saw never anybody working at the reception. I left the room every day early morning and returned at about 11pm. I arrived during the reception apening houres but there was nobody. ;-( To get the key you need to call a french number and the girl will help you to unlock the save in the Lobby.
Review 52:Its close to the city center and some restaurants. Rooms are clean and the size and confort is as written in the description.
Review 53:Reception allowed our friend to get keys on our behalf, as we were arriving outside opening hours. Location is very good - we even found a small supermarket open on a Sunday evening. Sofabed was very comfortable and easy to pull out and retract, with bedding left on. Could have done with more pillows, but didn't ask, so our loss! Adequate kitchen equipment and balcony overlooking gardens of the property next door.
Review 54:Balcony tight squeeze for two people.
Review 55:Very helpful staff. Room was very clean. Location was perfect. Glose to beach, old town and bus and train stations.
Review 56:No washing up liquid or sponge on arrival. Only 1 tea towel provided so bought and left behind a second one for future visitors.
Review 57:Perfect location for the Lemon Festival, old Menton, sea front, shops, and buses and trains.
Review 58:The corridor carpeting really needs to be replaced on first floor. Once again I mentioned the lack of English language TV channels. It appears they do not have a sat dish, so rely on local digital TV stations, which are obviously French and italian. They should put up a dish and provide free Wifi.
Review 59:Having stayed here before, because I visit Menton frequently, the convenience of having a mini studio, especially during the winter months when one doesn't want to have to go out to find a restaurant and the central location.
Review 60:We were not expecting to have to sleep on a sleeper couch. It had a think mattress and was uncomfortable. The street is very noisy and it is no pleasure sitting on the balcony. The so-called garden view is a strip of garden belonging to a hotel across the road. The Wifi is not free which is unacceptable in this day and age. One has to provide one's own dishwashing liquid, sponges and cloths. In short this studio apartment is only acceptable if you are on a very strict budget.
Review 61:The apartment building is well situated close to the sea front and fairly close to the railway station. It was convenient to have laundry facilities in the building.
Review 62:Front desk should be bilingual. 2 front desk clerks advised me that booking.com were the ones who billed me instead of them when I asked for a receipt for the room. Should include towels instead of having to rent them like they include sheets.
Review 63:Location is excellent. Central to casino, pedestrian walk with loads of restaurants and shops. Only a few blocks from the beach. Great value for your money.
Review 64:One night there wasn't any hot water for shower/bath but this was okay by next morning.
Review 65:Very well located just 5 minutes walk from Bus/Train stations. We had emailed ahead to say we would be arriving out of reception hours. Reception very friendly and helpful at all times. Room basic but had all our needs. We needed extra pillows and were given at no extra cost. Kitchen basic and clean. Microwave, hob, fridge, crockery and utensils. Had a balcony. We were facing Rue Urbana but it wasn't too noisey so were able to eat on it and it was quiet at night. Bathroom clean. Only two towels per person provided though. There is a small laundry room at 6 euros a wash. Sofa bed quite comfortable. Television only has French and Italian stations. Over the road from supermarket U Express and round the corner from 2 other supermarkets. Very near the beach. We were very happy with our stay.
Review 66:Noisy and the room(curtain, sofa, bed) is dusty. We had to pay to get a set of bath towel and bath-mat.
Review 67:It's near the station. Good access to the beach and old cities. The kitchen was equipped.
Review 68:- parking was not available, despite having been precised in the booking form that no reservation was needed. - not very clean - no inner garden view despite being written on booking form
Review 69:it is near the seaside
Review 70:2 out of 4 pillows were very uncomfortable. When the air condition was on it was not possible to use the small balcony because engine is right there.
Review 71:The location is very near to the city center and to the beaches. The studio was well equipped.
Review 72:Reception open for limited hours (in April)...might make checking in and accessing underground parking difficult if arriving when reception is closed. Would be wise to check when reception is open before arriving. Supplements for basic such as towels.
Review 73:Location...easy walking distance to sea front, harbour, old town, museum and galleries. Room...balcony on side street overlooked gardens opposite, corsican pines, fig trees and palms. Quiet for a central location, worth paying slightly more for these rooms. Useful kitchen facilities and small but pleasant balcony made breakfast easy and enjoyable.
Review 74:The only comment I would make and made to the management of theResidence, is that there should be at least one tv channel in English. There is only French & Italian tv available. I was assured thatmanagement would be notified.
Review 75:The luxury to have a mini apartment in the centre of Menton, whichallows one to relax in the evening either with a takeaway meal or a mealcooked in the apartment. During my stay it rained a good deal thereforehaving the apartment was ideal.
Review 76:The booking process has been awful. The staff tried to charge my credit card 7 days before arrival without telling me anything. I tried to contact them via e-mail but they never answered. I contacted Booking many times and they tried to help me with the reservation service of the hotel. After two days of telephone calls the hotel told me that the payment would have been in cash on arrival but one day after they charged my card anyway. The wors reception service EVER.
Review 77:Perfect location, we rented it to attend the Monte Carlo Tennis Master and with a bus we could rech Montecarlo in less than 20 minues.
Review 78:The hotel supplied sheets and a blanket for the beds, although nopillows, or towells were provided. There was nothing provided fordishwashing (sponge, liquid soap, or dishwasher powder) so it wasannoying that we needed to provide our own for a 2 night stay. The hotwater only seemed to heat up over-night, so if you run out in themorning there is no hot water for a shower in the evening. The receptionis only staffed until 7:00pm so there was no-one to assist with thisproblem in the evening.
Review 79:Good location for visiting Monaco area. The apartment had a good littlekitchenette, and there was a laundry in the building.
Review 80:no towels supplied ( offerred at 9 euros per person ), no rubbish cleared, in fact no service of the room itself
Review 81:near railway line to other french resorts and connection to Italy
Review 82:need to revist its purpose and hygene. The residence might want to limit spending money on their visitors but on long term, it destroys its image and hygene, etc.
Review 83:compact and easy access to other places. Price is also reasonable
Review 84:The accommodation was extremely small - there only being a sofa bed. Thesofa bed was not very comfortable and it made an almighty noise everytime we turned in the bed. Getting in and out of the bed was painful asyou had to sit on the metal workings of the bed which stuck out into theback of my legs, in an effort to get out of the bed. Although thecleaners were supposed to clean before and after our stay, we had toclean the accommodation as best we could before leaving. A hoover wouldhave been useful. The silicon sealant around the bath especially, andsink needed replacing as it was black, especially around the bath wherethe shower is.
Review 85:Residence Maeva Les Citronniers was fairly central to the Old Town wheremost of the action takes places. It is within walking distance. Therewas a small dishwasher - which we didn't use. A small fridge and two hotplates as well as a microwave. There were washing and ironing facilitiesat the end of the corridor.
Review 86:The room was inconveniently located on a busy street with pizza motorcycles going by in the night and garbage trucks in the morning. I'm sure the rooms on the side street are far less disturbed.
Review 87:It is very convenient, friendly, clean and comfortable. WiFi access is easy - for the basic necessities of travel it hit the spot.
Review 88:location was excellent..staff very helpful and spoke English..very clean and modern...looking forward to returning next year.
Review 89:Location is very convenient.
Review 90:No saucepan lids fitted the pots.
Review 91:The locations is superb.
Review 92:The limited opening hours of the reception.
Review 93:Location in central Menton and close to beaches is perfect.
Review 94:there was no kettle had to use coffee maker to boil water
Review 95:position and confortable easy acces to most places .
Review 96:Bunk beds
Review 97:Location
Review 98:No pretensions.
Review 99:Very convenient and quiet place.
Review 100:Friendly and helpful staff.
Review 101:Letti scomodi, rumorosi. Forti cattivi odori dal lavello della cucina
Review 102:Pulito e silenzioso
Review 103:check in time 5pm a bit late
Review 104:kitchenette plus bonus
Review 105:Wi-Fi not working during our week there between11 and 15 June. Verystingy on toilette paper - half roll for two people for a week.
Review 106:Tv in room did not work and wi-fi did not work either.
Review 107:Convenient access to train station; good to have underground parking
