Review 1：Some aspects of hotel old fashioned.
Review 2：Centrally located. Easy to find. Free parking in same street available and there are other areas of free parking close by. Well balanced variety of food for continental breakfast. Quiet at night.
Review 3：Exterior of building and reception/hallways don't seem to do quality of the rooms justice... Could do with modernising like the rooms.

Review 5：Parking. We were very fortunate to find a space just 100m down the road but it could have been quite a palaver to park. Quad room was two double beds which was tolerable for one night with two young children.

Review 11：this is an older hotel that has not been updated in a while. The carpets and towels are worn and the floors slant a bit. Also the room lighting is very dim. But for the price, location and wonderful staff I would recommend it to those who are watching their budget and want to be entrally located.

Review 14：Our family of four stayed in a quadruple room at the top of the hotel. The room was clean and comfortable. The owner was very accomodating and helpful. Great location in the centre of town and a good price, we would thoroughly recommend it.
Review 15：The double glazing allowed almost complete exclusion of the noisy rock concert that blared out to the small hours! However, as we were on the top floor it became unbearably hot! I am sure this 'challenging' night was a one-off for Cherbourg!

Review 17：Breakfast was adequate but very basic continental even by French standards with limited cereal options apart from sugary children's cereals. Though common in older hotels across France, no lift made carrying heavy suitcases to an upper floor quite difficult. However we were very grateful that the friendly owner came to our rescue.
Review 18：Very personable family run hotel. Our room was tastefully furnished in modern decor, comfortable and offered free Wi Fi access. A request for a hairdryer for my wife was cheerfully organised without charge. Several fine dining restaurants close by. A bonus was stumbling upon the shopfront used in the Umbrellas of Cherbourg movie, just around the corner.

Review 46：We had a 3-person room with the 2 of us; no way you could squeeze another bed in there. The view picture of the harbor which was suggested to be a view from the hotel could never have been seen from the hotel since there was a row of other tall houses between that. The breakfast was as basic as it gets, nothing exciting about that; we had ours outside the 2nd morning. There are only stairs to the higher floor rooms which was no problem for us but may be for other people.

Review 58：A previous e-mail to Booking.co described in detail the issues I experienced with the hotel proprietor. He dealt with me dishonestly and stated that he did not like Americans nor did he like me. I strongly suggest Booking.Com reduce it's high rating of Hotel Maderna. I will, in fact, never consider staying there again and will relate this episode to my corporate travel agency.

Lovely french breakfast too. Visited City de la Mer museum (10 mins walk) - really worth a visit. Whole days entertainment for a family - nuclear submarine, Titanic exhibition, aquarium and simulator rides.
Review 63：7.50 per person for breakfast - same price for adults and children is a bit unreasonable. While we (adults) loved the fresh croissants and bread; our 3 yr old and 7 yr old didn't, and there was no alternative (cereal), so we paid for their breakfast for nothing.
Review 64：The location was perfect - 2 minutes from Ferry but also walkingdistance to restaurants, town centre and marina to pass the eveningnicely before our ferry the next day. Staff were very helpful - theykeep a space free outside all the time for dropping off luggage,helpful is storing bulky bikes for us even after we checked out,excellent English. Basic accommodation, but very clean and freshsmelling with a lovely little courtyard in the middle, and fab rate of88 euro for 4 of us.
