Reviews for Hôtel Le Roquebrune

Review 1:My wife has knee problems so the stairs in this hotel were a challenge. However, there is an outside stairway giving access to the lower rooms which made access easier. Parking in Monte Carlo is limited so expect to park in garages.

Review 2:Each room of this hotel is decorated individually and the rooms overlook the Mediterranean. The staff is excellent. Our room was located on the bottom floor with a secluded patio. If you wish you can request that they prepare a French meal of your choosing at additional cost. The dining room is cozy. You can order a continental or full breakfast at additional cost. You must reserve parking in advance because there only a few parking spots. The hotel is only a few miles from Monte Carlo. We first visited this property when it was a restaurant only and have known the two sisters who own the property on and off for the last 20 years. They are informative and helpful, and know the area very well. We would stay at this hotel again.

Review 3:Highlight of our 2 week trip to France. View from dining area spectacular and the food and service were beyond compare. Enjoyed walking to beach and seeing the old castle and town of Roquebrune.

Review 4:Airy and clean with beautiful furnishings / room with splendid patio views of the blue water. Wonderful, gracious staff, proximity to the private beach. Short drive to Cannes, Nice, Monaco.Free parking! Lovely breakfast.Wish we could have stayed longer!

Review 5:n/a

Review 6:The owners were absolutely lovely and very helpful. The hotel was very pretty and quaint with great views over the bay - we will definitely come back :)

Review 7:The breakfast was a bit limited - would have expected orange juice and maybe some fruit/yoghurt. We stayed in the ciel et mer room and felt the bathroom, although very clean, needed upgrading.

Review 8:The fantastic views over the sea made this hotel very appealing. The staff were very attentive and most helpful. Also it was very clean. would go back.

Review 9:Bed was a bit too soft to my taste, but some other may like it.

Review 10:Every detail was beautiful. I dont know where to start. Wonderful owners and extremely polite staff, Huge room and bathroom (Olivier) nicely decorated and with a beautiful patio, Excellent breakfast service to your room or patio, even a simple coffee service to room was majestic. Beach, yes you need to take so many stairs but definitely worth it. It is large, out of touristic crowd, so natural, so clean... Hope it will always stay as it is. They assign a car parking for your name, easy to access and costs only 5 EUR. I look forward for the next time.

Review 11:Room was just behind bar, entrance, reception and restorant. Balcony in our room was separated from the restorant balcony with the door and till midnight we heard people who had diner and after how staf cleaned tables- annoying and lack of privacy.

Review 12:Staf were nice, view was amazing

Review 13:ABSOLUTELY NOTHING

Review 14:EVERYTHING.The two sisters who run the hotel are absolute gems and cannot do enough for their guests. The breakfasts are wonderful, with home made jams.

Review 15:The charming ladies who run the hotel, the fabulous breakfasts and the beautiful rooms overlooking the Mediterranean make this most a most wonderful place to stay

Review 16:The gorgeously comfortable beds, the beautifully presented and delicious breakfasts and, most of all the charming ladies who run the hotel. Stay there. You will never regret it!

Review 17:Bed, the double bed was composed of two single beds, so there is a big break between our beds, it is very uncomfortable.

Review 18:The host was very very good, they can satisfy almost all of your demand. Great! Near to the beach and the beach was much quiter than the beach in nice

Review 19:We were spoilt from the minute we walked in until the time we left. A room with the must beautiful view with dinner and breakfast served on our balcony. Parking for the car very convenient. I highly recommend this gorgeous boutique hotel. Staff and owner just lovely.

Review 20:i like all the parts of the hotel, only suggest to have more pillows on bed for comfortable leaning on (in 45 degree). and if there could be some food mats which provent the dirt or scraps of the food or drink, it wil lbe marvelous.

Review 21:the most attractive part of the hotel is not the view neither the room but the host. Bosth sister are really nice hosts for this lovely hotel which providing the clean and well designed enviroment for short or longer stay. thankyou for preparing the dinner! really a white blue dreaming place.

Review 22:Nothing

Review 23:Location spectacular, rooms clean and very comfy. We had a great patio with views in between trees and shrubs. Other rooms have un -interrupted views. Patricia and her sister are delightful and very helpful. Always made sure we had bus timetables and gave advise on what to see. Make sure you visit local old village Roqueburne above hotel, great to have dinner with amazing views and explore the tiny streets. We loved swimming everyday well worth the 212 steps. Bus stop very close to hotel 1.50 euro will get you to Nice, Monte Carlo or Menton and train close by great views from train as it travels along the coastline. If you arrive by train make sure you give hotel a ring as they are more than happy to pick you up. Can get bus or train to Nice airport. We had a beautiful breakfast on our last morning on the balcony. Overall a wonderful stay would definetly recommend you stay at this lovely hotel.

Review 24:just be aware that you have to take your car to go to dinner and parking can be a challenge in this area during high season.

Review 25:very nice and friendly owners, make you feel like at home...try to please you and give advice ! walking distance from beach ! all rooms with terrace and view ! quiet for sleep !!

Review 26:Leaving the hotel

Review 27:Everything! Room, kind service, cont. breakfast, orange juice, ease of getting to Monaco/Menton by bus or train. The ladies are absolutely super, kind and helpful. Big room/big bathroom and big balcony

Review 28:Wifi connection was either slow to connect or not functioning at all. Breakfast way over priced - a 5min walk gets you the same for less than half the price!!

Review 29:Right on the coast with access to lovely beaches. Close enough to walk/bus into Monte Carlo. Staff are very warm and welcoming.

Review 30:Zero. I loved this hotel and Patricia and her sister.

Review 31:The owners are simply wonderful and if you have a chance eat there too. You will not regret. Ask Patricia to have her sister cook you anything she wishes and fresh that day, you will enjoy. You can park your car right next to the hotel, very easy. Just simply wonderful place, talk with Patricia and her sister as they are wonderful ladies and have great insight into the area.

Review 32:there was nothing not to like

Review 33:We were upgraded to the suite, a big, very comfortable room with a huge balcony and unforgettable views. No noise from the road above, the sea sounds much louder, yet windows block it completely. Everything was unforgettable, even the simple breakfast (3 options available). Parking just next to hotel, the most kind staff...

Review 34:We couldn't find any bad point.

Review 35:Everything was good, including staff, landscape, rooms (cleanliness, decoration, landscape) and meals (fish was so fresh, it was so tasty, and the decoration was very good). We had a really nice stay in this hotel. We can give point 10 to this hotel.

Review 36:Take only what you need for the night, the stairs are a bit tricky if carrying too much luggage. We parked right out from and took in an overnite bag.

Review 37:The hostess was precious and even had a room ready for us when we arrived at 10 AM in the morning. She prepared us food and helped with bus and train directions into Monaco. This is a GEM of a place, would definitely return.

Review 38:Only not being able to stay longer!

Review 39:We loved the amazing sea view from our private patio and elegant room plus we really enjoyed the lovely Patricia, one of the owners. She was most gracious, helpful and energetic. She made us feel very welcome - treating us like family. We also enjoyed the best meal of our entire trip - created by her sister and served by sublime Jerome. All in all, a wonderful experience! Thank you!

Review 40:Wi-Fi service intermittent. Excellent food, but very expensive. The basic breakfast includes only tea, coffee, or chocolate with croissant, toast, butter, and jam. Anything else is extra. For example, a glass of freshly squeezed juice costs 5.5 euro ($7.50). If you want dinner, be sure to check the prices before you order. We did not and were shocked at the bill when we checked out. Fish cost us 50 euro per person ($68), asparagus, 12.50 euro pp ($17), desert, 14 euro pp ($19). Drinks are expensive too: gin & tonic 12.50 euro, 1/2 bottle of wine 21 euro.

Review 41:Close to Monaco and Eze. Beautiful view of sea from dining room. Peak-a-boo view from room. Beaches within walking distance if you don't mind stairs. Owners friendly and helpful. Will accommodate special diets at extra cost.

Review 42:Pleasant experience. The owner was very friendly. Nice comfortable place to stay in.

Review 43:Excellent view. Excellent staff.

Review 44:Dinner was rather disappointing

Review 45:wonderful location with amazing views, friendly and helpful staff,

Review 46:Room was very small, no door to the bathroom :(

Review 47:Staff was great.....

Review 48:Everything was perfect!

Review 49:Great location with best sea view. Overall hospitality very friendly and helpful!

Review 50:The friendliness of the ladies

Review 51:The location, food and staff were fantastic.

Review 52:Staff went beyond expectations, always friendly and smiley. They did everything to make us feel welcome

Review 53:Super location, rooms with terrace and canopy over-looking the sea. A quiet beach within walking distance. Parking available.

Review 54:Good service

Review 55:Hotel old fashioned and a bit cluttered. Expensive in the high season, price doubles!

Review 56:Fantastic views and terrace. Owner and staff delightful.

Review 57:terrace off bedroom

Review 58:Food price way too high

Review 59:Nice location

Review 60:The welcome/staff is more than great!!

Review 61:The staff were lovely and couldn't do enough for us.

Review 62:Food, decor, location, easy access, private parking,

Review 63:Lovely staff, a great view from our room and from the terrace, and a dedicated parking space with your name on the sign

Review 64:The $60 bill for breakfast one morning came as a surprise when we were checking out

Review 65:The host and staff were wonderful and very helpful

Review 66:Absolutely Brilliant views from a very comfortable room...would recommend this venue to any of my travelling compatriots.

Review 67:The two sisters that run the spot were great. Patricia, who speaks great English, was really helpful and is a wealth of info. The food is exceptional.

Review 68:True and genuine "french riviera" hotel. Excellent location and views at the confluence of moyenne and basse corniche. Stylish romantic rooms. Quiet, small and kind of "remote". Typical "cote d'azur" atmosphere next door to Monte Carlo (800m). Expensive but worthy for all these reasons.

Review 69:Think there was a bit of trick photography as our room looked much more spacious than it was and only a curtain for a toilet door. The breakfast was far too expensive at 12euros each and very poor at that.

Review 70:Great Views from our room and a very friendly welcome from all staff, excellent parking.

Review 71:We could not stay longer than 2 nights, but we will be back!

Review 72:Great view of the sea from the restaurant and from the garden. Very close to the beach and Monaco.

Review 73:Great small hotel in a beautiful place. Unforgettable breakfasts on sunny balcony overlooking blue see, served in most elegant way. Only a couple of minutes walk to the beach, using almost private flight of stairs. Great garden with 800 y.o. olive tree. Simple the best...

Review 74:Although very clean suite had an odd strong smell in the bathroom.

Review 75:Great public transport links outside the door. Very pretty old village stunning setting overlooking the sea. Excellent personal service and car parking.

Review 76:The brochure describes it exactly - a hotel with charm. The owners go the extra mile and more to make your stay memorable and extremely comfortble . Food is excellent and you can choose what you want to suit your needs

Review 77:The pictures of the hotel do not reflect the actual rooms. There are veryvery limited views from rooms on floors below the main level.Rooms needto be updated! Review your bill ..was charged 25euro for an omelet and50 euro for a salad !!!

Review 78:If you get the rooms on the main floor ..then you have an amazing view. The food is wonderful ...but beware of how much things cost.

Review 79:This hotel is not worth the price. Especially the restaurant was extremely expensive, €30 for just 100gr of fish! Photo's on website very misleading; the view is not as good as advertised, we could see the sea only when standing up on toes and looking hard from the room (Ciel et Mer). The AC next door is clearly audible, despite the claim that the rooms are soundproofed.

Review 80:The parking was free and the rooms and linens were clean. Owners were friendly.

Review 81:The hospitality of the staff was amazing. They truly made my stay comfortable and pleasant. The rooms were clean and the towels wonderfully big and soft!

Review 82:The other two rooms were down a very narrow twisted staircase and it was hard to carry all the luggage although once I the room it was no problem. The food was good but very expensive.

Review 83:Beautiful view of Mediterranean. One of our rooms was on the main floor next to the dining room. The room was small but had a beautiful balcony overlooking the sea. The bed was very comfortable and the bathroom was a nice size. The food in the restaurant was delicious.

Review 84:We just stayed at the hotel - poor value for money. We also stayed atthe Vista Palace hotel for two days - looking at the reviews of the twohotels, they do not even fall within the same "rating-category" - although according to previous ratings of the hotel leRoquebrune, it has a rating of "9" - proudly displayed in thehotel - I could not believe my eyes. Very unprofessional - we stayed inthe "suite" - totally over-prized; old bedding and furniture;no mini-bar or coffee facilities; shower that is leaking so much thatthe whole floor is wet; ants in the bathroom; no privacy at all;photo's on website very misleading; you do not have your own"private balcony" - it is a balcony that they have devidedwith "wooden frameworks" - hence when you are sitting outsideand the "owners" are dining on a Sunday afternoon (disgussingtheir guests and making comments about them) - you hear everything - noprivacy at all! Rooms are not soundproof (no solid walls - suspectdifferent rooms are devided by cardboard, painted white) - very old"guesthouse" - definitely not on hotel standard - needs a lotof upgrade to even be compared to other hotels like the Vista Palace, where we received "super" service and had a great stay. Willdefinitely not recommend the hotel to anyone, as mentioned totallyoverpriced for what you get.

Review 85:Proximity to the beach - owners are friendly, especially the one sisterwho is always smiling and greeting you. However, I feel I have aresponsibility towards other guests who consider this hotel in future -hence I should comment on the value for money and things that reallybothered us. Since we stayed at other hotels in the area as well, Ithink it is easier to review this hotel objectively, comparing this like"value for money"; the hotel facilities in general, etc etc.

Review 86:We needed to use the bus to get to Monte Carlo. The stop was closeto the hotel but didn't run late enough to get us home which wasa nuisance.

Review 87:Our hosts were exceptionally helpful and friendly, the room and viewwere superb. The room was clean, the bed comfortable and the showerwas large.

Review 88:Great welcome and view from our bedroom was amazing. If you're looking to be wowed this is the hotel to book. The coffee in the morning was wonderful.

Review 89:Had to put up with a couple flights of stairs, but it really added to the ambiance of property. Parking was a challenge, but Patricia even put signs on a spot for us..so no problem..it is the little things that count so much. Traffic was horrible, but that is Monte Carlo for you....not the property's problem. So really, there was nothing that we didn't like.

Review 90:It was a little pricy, but you get everything you pay for......and that is a good thing. It is a wonderful place and Patricia, her sister Marine and the entire staff could not have been more accommodating. It only has 6 rooms and offers extremely private dining with the utmost personal of touches.

Review 91:Perfect location just outside of Monaco. The room was lovely, clean and comfortable. The lady running the hotel could not have been more friendly and helpful. She made our stay very pleasant.

Review 92:From the welcome to the check out the owners were helpful. They lookedafter us as if we were family. The food was some of the best I have hadin France!

Review 93:Imagine a small hotel, clean, cozy and comfortable. Imagine a restaurantwith excellent food, served with refinement. Imagine an owner who willtreat you as the returning prodigal son. Put it all together in theFrench Riviera, only one mile away from Monaco. That`s Le Roquebrune. Thanks, Patricia

Review 94:The weather was awful, but it did not really matter, since the ambienceof the hotel was so delightful.

Review 95:Superb personal welcome and service throughout our stay. Unbeatableview over Monaco and the bay beyond. Very comfortable bed. Excellentfood. Also the closest distance between parking our car and our roomwe have ever experienced, since their parking space is immediatelyoutside the front door and our room was 3m inside. You could not getcloser in a motel!

Review 96:I have not got one single complaint.

Review 97:Outstanding in every way. Beautiful location, view. The cleanest hotel I have ever stayed in; I looked for dirt and never found a spec! Owners went out of their way to be helpful. Food excellently prepared and served beautifully. A real treasure.

Review 98:Leaving

Review 99:The welcome. The location. The food. Ease of access to buses and trains

Review 100:Fantastic view. Ideal location and pleasant staff. Room was clean and well appointed

Review 101:Restaurant in the hotel is very pricey for what is served. Check prices before you eat!

Review 102:Lovely staff. Room was nice, especially the bathroom.

Review 103:hospitality panorama lovely rooms breakfast nearly Montecarlo

Review 104:It was unbelievably beautiful the view and the room. The staff is very friendly and helpful.

Review 105:The room was small and basic

Review 106:Staff was very helpful. Nice view from the room.

Review 107:Amazing view, beautiful room, near the beach, really friendly and helpful personnel, delicious food

Review 108:Breakfast a little pricey for basic bread and coffee/tea

Review 109:Great location for exploring Côte d'Azur
