Reviews for La Maison d'Euphrasie Chambre d'hôtes
Review 1:a little way out of the centre of town (though this is perfect if you have a car and are driving to see sights outside Amiens)
Review 2:very comfortable, fantastic breakfast served, great advice about things to see, free parking
Review 3:Beautifully furnished house and comfortable, clean accommodation, with a warm welcome from the owner and an excellent breakfast. Easy 20 minute stroll into the town centre. We'd definitely return here.
Review 4:The breakfast was awesome. One of the Best breakfasts that I ever has in hotels or b&bs. The location was not the best, but in 20 min walking you can be in the center. I hope to stay again sometime in this place.
Review 5:The only disadvantage is the noise from the busy road outside.
Review 6:Very welcoming owner, Mme Allart, convenient location on the edge of the city near the motorway and great breakfast. The breakfast table where all the guests sat made for a house party atmosphere. Luckily all were friendly.
Review 7:Dominique is a wonderful host. Very welcoming, friendly and helpful with information about Amiens. We felt very much at home staying at the B&B. The location is excellent and within easy walking distance from the centre of Amiens and also close to the L4 bus.
Review 8:Delightful B&B with interior character. The pleasant owner provides a quality continental breakfast. A little way out from the city centre so own transport is advised: there is limited offstreet parking but there was no difficulty with parking on the street.
Review 9:Nothing was wrong but it would have helped to have a small table/desk for the computer in the room. Short term guests may find a small table more useful than a chest of drawers.
Review 10:A very pleasant private home with a wonderfully friendly and helpful owner. A very nice breakfast.
Review 11:What was not to like, a beautiful property, wonderful garden to relax in and the amazing Dominique who could not do enough for her guests. Merci Beaucoup Dominique
Review 12:Dominque was lovely and welcoming. Everything about our stay was fantastic. Gorgeous rooms, comfortable beds, beautiful garden to relax in. Definitely would stay here again and highly recommend it.
Review 13:Loved the style and cleanliness of the house - it was so welcoming and had a fab garden for the children to relax in . Plenty of parking too . Breakfast was fantastic !
Review 14:The location was a bit further from the city centre than we expected but not a problem.
Review 15:The house was beautifully furnished with a lovely garden and Dominique could not have been more helpful. Our room was well equipped and comfortable.
Review 16:Nil
Review 17:Dominique was the perfect hostess. She went out of her way to make us welcome in her beautiful home. Very chic and tasteful. Every restaurant recommended over 4 days was perfect. A+++ in every way
Review 18:We like to hang up our shirts upon arrival and there was no suitable place to do so, only a hinged cluster of hooks on the wall. Also, there was no hot water the evening of our stay. A mistake had been made resetting the water heater. This really mattered to us that night. But the hostess investigated, apologized, and made an adjustment to our charges, and so we left feeling well-treated (and there was sufficient hot water in the morning).
Review 19:A very beautiful environment and an enthusiastic and gregarious hostess. Easy free parking after a long hectic day of driving. The wifi was sufficiently strong. Nice breakfast.
Review 20:Bathroom was on the small side for the taller person - me. Room south facing so very hot on arrival - fan supplied on request.
Review 21:The house was superb in every detail - the owner is very artistic and has really put her 'stamp' on the house. Very french especially the breakfast, but the owner spoke good English. Great location to explore the magnificent city of Amiens.
Review 22:We couldn't fault our stay here. We received a warm welcome, had everything we needed and a really great breakfast in the morning. The rooms are absolutely lovely and it was great to be able to share a two-bedroom suite with our children at a reasonable price.
Review 23:A little out of the way if relying on public transport especially if you are not fluent in French.
Review 24:Very friendly owner & well cared for. No lift so stairs a bit of a prob for older people with luggage.
Review 25:nothing everything was fantastic
Review 26:Hostess couldn't have been more accommodating and friendly her home decorated to a high standard and very clean and welcoming.
Review 27:The host was a delightful lady who helped us whenever needed. Home baked croissants, beautiful decor, helpful advice, free beers when we arrived.... everything was incredible, thank you so much.
Review 28:Wow. Beautiful home. Parking available and close to city centre. Domonique was a lovely host. She spoke great English and was so welcoming. Her home is gorgeous and clean. It has a huge garden to relax in. We booked a double room and a twin for our boys. Rooms are decorated so lovely with quirky art work. We would stay here again.
Review 29:The hostess was wonderful. So enthusiastic and welcoming and the whole house is stamped with her personality and artistic ideas. Everything had a personal touch. We will certainly go back.
Review 30:Nothing negative at all!
Review 31:Dominique was so friendly and welcoming. She insisted we had a cold beer in the lovely garden after our drive from the Dordogne! The house was comfortable and immaculately clean, with an eclectic collection of objects on every surface and wall, like visiting a fascinating gallery. Breakfast was superb, with fresh local specialities. We would definitely stay again.
Review 32:The location is on a very busy road and the traffic noise woke us very early in the morning.
Review 33:Dominique was a fantastic hostess who went out of her way to make sure we enjoyed our stay. The garden is lovely, with a swing and children's toys. Easy drive into Amiens and easy (on-street) parking at accommodation.
Review 34:Nothing
Review 35:Our host was wonderful & made our stay a very pleasant one. The accommodation was really wonderful & there were plenty of areas to relax.
Review 36:Avoid room 124. Woken at 6.30 am each morning. Deliveries for kitchen. Also. Smells from the kitchen, not pleasant
Review 37:Location an parking. So easy. Quick check in. Nice large rooms
Review 38:Needed air conditioning. Tight quarters in bedroom. Busy street in front of home.
Review 39:Graciousness of host. Quality of breakfast. Proximity to restaurants. Beauty of landscaping.
Review 40:The only disappointing thing was location, and public transport was OK once we worked it out. Because we relied on public transport to get there we were a little late on arrival, only a hour, the owner was fairly abrupt to us being a bit late!
Review 41:Breakfast
Review 42:there was nothing we did not like.
Review 43:everthing was wonderful. Dominque was so helpful and friendly. Room and bathroom very good. we loved being able to see her beautiful B & B and garden..
Review 44:The warm and charming welcome from Dominique was not just a feature of our stay in France but of the whole holiday. She made us very welcome indeed. Her house is utterly delightful, and full of beautiful things, artfully arranged and it should be featured in House and Garden!
Review 45:From the minute we walked in the front gate the owner made us feel welcome and at home. The first greeting was pure French and so warm you felt you were going into a friend's home. The home itself was pure delight, wonderfully decorated and so comfortable. Breakfast was super, home made jams and cakes, something different every morning. The hostess went out of her way to make our stay special.
Review 46:Everything about the place, even though it was further from Amiens centre than we expected. The owner was amazing, with friendly advice and tips plus, breakfast was exceptional
Review 47:Without a car it's a long walk into the city or nearby to go to a restaurant.
Review 48:The host was very welcoming and helpful. It was a great spot to tour the WW1 battlefields.
Review 49:Really nice bed & breakfast, with easy reach from the motorway and to the city of Amiens. Great comfortable and beautiful house with very pretty rooms. Great garden to relax and a fantastic host.
Review 50:There was no wardrobe, only coat-hangers hanging off one large hook. Otherwise room and ensuite were clean and comfortable. Limited parking on site but parking available in the street.
Review 51:Central location, although on a busy road. Excellent breakfast, Dominique could not have been more helpful. Lovely big back garden for families with small children. Close to attractive Somme waterfront, with variety of eateries. Several Somme Australian battlefields( memorials and cemeteries) nearby.
Review 52:We were weary travellers and our hostess did everything possible to make our stay comfortable and welcoming. Very much enjoyed being able to relax in the beautiful backyard setting. Good restaurant within easy and pleasant walking distance.
Review 53:My only negative is that as a family of four with 2 teenages, our rooms were separated, but it was the kids room that housed the toilet. So to use the toilet through the night you needed to leave doors unlocked and the door and floors were very creaky.
Review 54:Dominique was a very friendly host who prepares a mostly homemade breakfast which is delicious. The accommodation is lovely with an outdoor area for guests who wish to prepare their own basic meals that has a fridge, microwave and plates and utensils.
Review 55:Easy to find and within walking distance of Amiens City Centre, about 20 to 25 mins. Parking easy, great room and delightful big garden to sit and socialise. The owner, Dominique was a great hostess and nothing was a trouble. A great stay and we will come again. It would be a good base from which to explore the Somme Region and the WW1 sites.
Review 56:No negatives at all#fab
Review 57:Extremely comfortable, welcoming environment. It is definitely 10/10. Breakfast lovely, rooms/decor beautiful and had a garden our family could use.
Review 58:we did not think much of the xmas market,
Review 59:Everything was great .we had a loverly time .The walk to the town was fine. You have to see the cathedrel when they light it all up at 7pm.we would stay here again .
Review 60:Was happy with everything
Review 61:Our stay at La Maison d'Euphrasie Chambre 'hotes was excellent. The accommodation is delightful and the host, Dominique was very friendly and helpful. The location is convenient to the town of Amiens and there is easy access to the battlefields (of interest to most Australians). I would highly recommend this B&B
Review 62:Couldn't fault it.
Review 63:The hotel was spotlessly clean and beautifully decorated and the owner very friendly and efficient. She even gave us all a lift into town! Continental breakfast was lovely, with a selection of home made jams and croissants. As for many smaller hotels and B&B's in France, payment is only by cash.
Review 64:Nothing!
Review 65:Everthing! The location of this chambre d'hôte is excellent, away from the city centre but within 20mins walk of the cathedral. The owner, Dominique, was wonderful, as was her house and garden. We had the 2 bedroomed "appartment" which has a bathroom between them and shared it with friends. It was excellent
Review 66:Loved being able to relax with a glass of wine in the large garden at the end of a long day touring the WWI battle fields. A very comfortable B & B, with a very charming and knowledgeable hostess. Breakfast was delicious & plentiful. It came highly recommended & I would recommend it.
Review 67:we had a lovely 2night stay, the offer of the bikes is a great idea, we saw so much of Amiens this way. It's a beautiful house with lovely Hostess, highly recommend this B & B
Review 68:Dominique is a wonderful hostess. She is very helpful to assist with restaurant and tour bookings, if you struggle with the language (note: to avoid disappointment, it is recommended to pre-book guided tours of the Somme, as they are very popular in Sept/Oct) Really great breakfasts..poached fruits, home-made croissants and brioche, cheeses, lovely jams....all wonderfully French. Lovely spacious home and garden, with all modern facilities. Good parking availability in a safe area of Amiens. Easy 30-40 minute walk to the Town centre, but also quick access to motorways out of town. We were made to feel very much at home and highly recommend this B&B
Review 69:Domonique the owner was very accomodating and her home was beautiful. The garden made a lovely peaceful place to sit and read. Once you work out the bus timetable it is easy to get around.
Review 70:On the wed site it is listed as a hotel. It is a B&B. Hote in French is = B&B, but when transcribed into English it is represented as a hotel.
Review 71:For a B&B is was beautiful. Everthing that you would expect from a country B&B in the city.
Review 72:We used this B&B as a base for our holiday over 10 days. Dominique is the perfect hostess and went out of her way to make our holiday really special. The garden is large with a seating area and a summerhouse with microwave and fridge for the guests to use. The room was well decorated and clean. Breakfast was brilliant with homemade jam, croissants and cake. The house is decorated with many unusual items making it a really interesting house to stay in. Free WiFi is also available throughout the house. The house is situated about a half hours walk from Amiens town centre. Dominique also had bikes that she was willing to lend us although we just walked or used the car. I would highly recommend this B&B for long or short stays. It is the best B&B we have ever used and we have stayed at many. We would not hesitate to stay here again.
Review 73:Located too far to walk into Reims, It was not clear when i made the booking that it us a b&b home not a hotel.
Review 74:The owner is extremely welcoming and speaks good English, Home is stunning like something out of vogue
Review 75:Dominique could not have been more helpful. She took our wet things (we were travelling by motorbike). House and garden were lovely. The breakfast super. Such a nice way to end our holiday.
Review 76:Nothing:-)
Review 77:We could not have asked for a more welcoming start to our two day stay here. Dominique is a lovely host, being only too happy to help in any way she can. Our room was lovely, but we started out stay with a welcome glass of wine and a bite to eat in the lovely garden. Breakfast was equally lovely. We could not fault our stay. Would thoroughly recommend it. We took our bikes and Amiens is an easy ride into town for a meal in the evening.
Review 78:This place is divine in every way. The welcome is warm, the room spacious. The garden is glorious. The decor throughout is special, a real labour of love for our host and she gets so much pleasure from your enjoyment of her home. Breakfasts too are a feast. And there is ample parking. Perfect!
Review 79:The room and facilities were excellent. Breakfast was very good and not rushed. the house offered space to sit and enjoy surroundings. parking was not a problem.
Review 80:The mattress was harder than we would have liked and we don't consider ourselves to be particularly fussy in this area.
Review 81:The owner made us very welcome and we appreciated the help with finding local restaurants. The house is beautifully decorated and well fitted out for B&B with a lovely back garden that I didn't expect to find so close to the city centre. Breakfast was good and served in a large airy room with French doors leading onto the garden. This is cleverly laid out to allow several parties of guests to enjoy their own part of the garden simultaneously. Parking was available off the road but could only accommodate two vehicles. The house has 5/6 rooms and all looked to be decorated to the good standard of our room. It is very easy to find the place and the stairs are easy to navigate.
Review 82:Finding a taxi to get us home after eating in the town turned out to be a bit tricky. Make sure you get your restaurant to book it for you
Review 83:Everything other reviewers say about Dominique and her lovely home is absolutely true. The house and garden are beautiful, comfortable and peaceful. The hospitality faultless, from welcome drinks to an offer of a lift into town to the restaurant she recommended (which was also excellent). Great breakfast, free parking and wi-fi. Just perfect
Review 84:Dominique welcomed us into her beautiful home like family. Her attention to detail gave us all the comforts of home, plus the breakfasts were amazing!!!
Review 85:On arriving we found a very warm and very friendly welcome, and the owner served us a hot drink and a bite to eat, which was very welcome after travelling all day.
Review 86:A very warm welcome. We enjoyed studying the eclectic mix of artefacts, the decor and the garden. The home-made croissants and compote at breakfast were a treat! A real gem. Tres bien!
Review 87:I would have preferred a light duvet only on the bed. The road outside was very busy.
Review 88:We were warmly welcomed by our hostess. Our room was comfortable and overlooked a beautiful garden. We were able to use the house as our own. The garden was also available for us to use. We were given a sumptuous breakfast.
Review 89:Dominique is a perfect hostess and takes care of her guests with the utmost attention to their needs. The house is quaint and the garden is a delight. Won't hesitate to stay there again if and when we are in the area.
Review 90:WiFi disappointing.
Review 91:This location is perfect for onward journey north or south. A perfectly adequate restaurant is within a 15 minute walk. Dominique is an excellent host with extensive knowledge of the area. Our bed was comfortable with lovely white linen, quiet area and a superb breakfast. Highly recommend.
Review 92:Room could have been a bit more spacious but I may have received a smaller room because the owner thought I was traveling alone. My reservation mistake I believe.
Review 93:We stayed in 3 separate towns in France: Chartres, Troyes and Amiens. This was the best of the 3 places we stayed. There is a large garden area, a helpful owner that speaks English well, and good facilities. The location is not right in downtown Amiens but it's close with a bus right outside. As well, the owner made bikes available. A great stay of 3 days for us.
Review 94:Dominique was very welcoming hostess. Very delightful house and beautiful garden with use of outdoor facilities. The breakfast was very special! Happy to recommend this fabulous place!
Review 95:Owner was very welcoming and helpful. Lovely breakfast sitting around the table with the other guests all different nationalities. Amiens is an interesting city, the Cathedral is awe inspiring and Jules Verne's house fascinating.
