Reviews for Domaine d'Auriac
Review 1:Wi-Fi was programmed to lock out at 4 days and difficult to get new connection - I think this has been altered now. There is a degree of traffic hum coming from the nearby motorway, which you can notice in the grounds, but not in the house. Rather formal, stuffy atmosphere. Food and drink very expensive in the main hotel. The least expensive menu with a choice of dishes in the evening is 77 euros per person.
Review 2:Grand property lavishly furnished with antiques, sculptures and paintings. Nice pool and grounds. Posh dining in the restaurant but at a price. For informal dining, there is also a bistro in the hotel grounds.
Review 3:The elegance and unique character of the building and furnishings. The professional service and friendly attention from the staff. The adjacent golf course and Bistro were greatly enjoy
Review 4:Nothing but good surprises.
Review 5:The hotel is a beautiful old house set in a fantastic garden. The service is very friendly and agreeable and the restaurant is excellent. Coffee machine in the room is a great idea.
Review 6:Be careful with the address. We arrived late, in the dark, to the golf course, which is on a different road to the hotel entrance. It would have been easier to work out in daylight, but it was a bit scarey in the dark, foreign car, foreign language etc
Review 7:We arrived quite late so we didn't get to explore the property as we would have liked. The room was large and very comfortable, which is exactly what we needed after our journey.
Review 8:Perhaps a little over priced.
Review 9:A beautiful hotel, close to the airport. The staff were all very friendly and helpful with the Michellin starred restaurant being exceptional experience.
Review 10:Pretty much everything was perfect, only a couple of minor niggles really. Our "nespresso" type coffee machine didn't work, although we were brought coffee in the morning when we told reception about our faulty machine. We felt our room was a little bit tired around the edges.
Review 11:We loved the friendly and very helpful hotel staff. The hotel is only a10Euro taxi ride from Carcassonne's medieval city, which was well worth the visit. We dined in the Michelin starred restaurant, hotel guests are certain to get a table there, even when it's busy. We knew in advance that it was going to be very expensive (relatively) to dine, but what a fantastic experience it was. Of course, the food was excellent and presented beautifully, that was to be expected. The wines offered for each course were all superb, as was the service from all of the waiters and particularly the Sommelier, he was brilliant!
Review 12:Curtains in bathroom, shower over bath, too low to stand under. Terribly expensive for a place that is beginning to look a bit tatty.
Review 13:The food and the staff. Pleasant bedroom.
Review 14:The room was tired.
Review 15:Staff was great and the wine steward was fantastic!
Review 16:It's a very elegant, classy retreat with very helpful and knowledgeable staff
Review 17:I was very sick and Owner Marie Helene was so very helpful! Thank you to the entire staff!
Review 18:The traffic noise.
Review 19:The Bistro was great value.
Review 20:Nice people. Couldn't do enough for you.
Review 21:Wifi was poor. Unable to get on to Internet at times.
Review 22:All staff and amenities are excellent.
Review 23:Coffee making facility but no tea.
Review 24:Charming bedroom.
Review 25:On the expensive side.
Review 26:Great food and beautiful room.
Review 27:Woken up by alarm in neighbouring room
Review 28:Good location Michelin star restaurant
Review 29:Beautiful hotel , great restaurant ,
Review 30:Couldn't stay longer. Would love to see this place in summer.
Review 31:The breakfast seemed a bit pricey but once it was served, worth every euro.
Review 32:leaving there!
Review 33:The people, the food, the service, the gardens and pool
Review 34:Quality of service is very good.
Review 35:Needs some updating and renovations Mattress squeeked and door lock was tricky - overdue for some improvements Breakfast overpriced at Eu25 per head Wine list expensive
Review 36:Beautiful building in park - like surroundings Pool etc Gastronomic restaurant Close to tourist attraction of Carcassone
Review 37:Carcassonne has little to offer except the medieval city (which is well worth the trip!). This hotel is a cab ride from anything else. So we highly recommend it if you want to play golf or just have a few days of relaxed expensive luxury. If you are going to Carcassonne for the medieval city, it's a two night stay and you will get more value in a different hotel.
Review 38:Beautiful grounds, large comfortable rooms, excellent food. Golf course looked first class. Historic building. Owner and staff take real pride in the establishment.
Review 39:Rooms a little tired and in need of update however positives far outweigh the one negative.
Review 40:The michelin restaurant had great food and service. The bistro is a bargain with a set 3 course menu at 20 euros and a carafe of wine something like 5 euros. I wish we had found it sooner rather than have the very average meals in la cite. Pool, grounds and tennis court are well maintained. Fantastic service with nibbles to accompany each drinks order.
Review 41:WiFI connection unavailable in the restaurant.
Review 42:The facilities, the atmosphere, friendliness of the staff, excellent food, beautiful garden with pool, golf course on the premisces.
Review 43:The heat in our tiny bedroom was overpowering, even after we'd had the radiator turned down for several hours. And when driving put Domaine d'Auriac in your GPS, not Route de St Hilaire, because Route de St Hilaire is long and complicated, starts in La Cite and stops for a while then starts again.
Review 44:Grand and welcoming, this place makes like a millionaire... which you need to be to afford anything! Excellent service and friendly staff - really lovely place to stay. Continental breakfast was E24, and the cheapest glass of wine was E12. Great if you like being next to a golf course.
Review 45:Room on small side for travellers with large suitcases but this was a minor inconvenience.
Review 46:Beautiful old building, elegantly furnished and decorated, set in lovely grounds away from bustle of city. Good walking alongside river. We enjoyed the dining experience and found the staff there gave good advice. Warmly welcomed and farewelled too by staff at reception.
Review 47:We felt intimidated by over-attentive staff and felt we had to creep around as if we were intruders.
Review 48:The grand experience of a 5-star hotel. The gastronomique dinner was worth the money for an anniversary celebration.
Review 49:If one has to be critical, it was a shame they had such cheap toilet paper in such a wonderful place! Also, the pillows were mighty uncomfortable (wrong shape for us - they were square!!)
Review 50:the ambience, added to by the excellent attitude of the staff; the food - yum, yum!
Review 51:Dining room staff were in some cases cold and distant. Prices of winewere too high compared with other one and two star Michelin restaurants
Review 52:The reception was friendly and helpful. The room was comfortable and thefood deserved its one Michelin star.
Review 53:We had thought the location would be further in the countryside.
Review 54:We loved the new bathroom but most of all the friendliness of the owner. Dinner in the restaurant is a must.
Review 55:In the garden you heard some road-noise.
Review 56:You stay in a 19th century French mansion, fully furnished in style. The service is very personable and the food excellent (Michelin star)
Review 57:Way to expensive for services and quality of rooms f0od overated and wayway overpriced price of drinks outrageous 14 euros for vodka etc.

Review 81:The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome.
