Reviews for Vacancéole - Le Domaine de Chames

Review 1:No TV, which did not bother me (although I do like to check the Meteo). You will need to bring a mug, coffee, milk, sugar, toiletries and something to clean the kitchen (a washing up brush would be useful).

Review 2:Breath-taking view from the room's private terrace, gorgeous setting, very useful small kitchenette, friendly and very helpful staff, everything was clean and very comfortable. Superb value for money, the view and setting is priceless.

Review 3:poor sound isolation. Problem with the linen supplies during our stay

Review 4:Position position position. A good aparthotel with kitchenette & great view of the Gorge d'Ardeche

Review 5:The room was dirty, beds were essentially mattresses on the floor, shower was awful, toilet seat was cracked. Restaurant was totally over priced.

Review 6:The little bar on the opposite side of the road that had nothing to do with the hotel They accommodated bikes Staff were friendly

Review 7:One night was really hot and ac would have been a plus.

Review 8:Beautiful location, if you want to be away from things and in nature, yet walking distance to several restaurants (from a pizza bar to a top tiered restaurant). Short walk to a lovely swimming beach and next to a kayaking drop off point.

Review 9:Simplistic - hadn't realised we would have to strip our own bed, take any rubbish away with us etc. There also wasn't a view - river view was definitely a stretch! Bed was a fold out bed that squeaked if you so much as breathed too vigorously, and the walls were very thin - so not very peaceful! It was cheap and felt it - but it could easily have been a bit nicer with just a little more care from them!

Review 10:Location was good - close to the river and a shortish walk to the Pont D'arc.

Review 11:The studio was minuscule and there were cobwebs everywhere. Very dirty and it smelled,of dampness loads. We also found 2 cockroarches. Location was very good but will never stay there again in a million years.

Review 12:Cooking equipment slightly basic- no wash up sponge, drying up clothe or bread knife.

Review 13:Great location. Quiet place to stay in busy area. Great restaurant next door.

Review 14:One of the few remaining places to truly enjoy the gorgeous Ardeche valley! Our spacious, first floor apartment had a big balcony and glorious Ardeche river views, apart from being in a peaceful & natural spot, just below the pictoresque village of Chames. The stunning Pont d'Arc is only a few hundred metres away. My 18-year-old son and I absolutely loved it!

Review 15:Reception didn´t speak anything but french. TV was out of order. When I complained, the only answar was, that it normally is out of order. After use, it is your duty to take sheets and towels to a specific spot, and to take the garbage to a place 150 meters away. This place is typically 1970s, and it looks like little has been done since.

Review 16:Breakfast ok, but did cost extra. Good large room with terasse.

Review 17:Le Domaine is in a gorgeous location with the cliffs overlooking the river where I had to kayak. It is an ideal, quiet stopover if you want to visit the Chauvet caves and not stay in town. The food next door is incredible and very elegant without tourist atmosphere and prices. Loved it all! Thank you guys!

Review 18:Administration you need to take your bed sheets & towels to an specific spot & garbage to the other side of the road they almost expect you to clean it or surcharge you

Review 19:Nice setting near the river unfortunately if as us you check in at 5 and need to depart at 10 no possibility to enjoy anything in a day

Review 20:Nothing

Review 21:Beautiful location beside the river and not too far from the main town (6 kms) plus very close to main site of Pont d'Arc! Spacious apartment for a night and not bad for a week even. Breakfast next door was delicious. Great view. Friendly staff.

Review 22:We had a studio room and while the outdoor space was great the room was a little small. It was a fold out bed with little room to move around but it did have lots of facilities in the room.

Review 23:The location was amazing. The outdoor area was great with sun loungers and tables and a great view. Having a fridge was a bonus.

Review 24:Grounds need tending, and driveways need repair. Tiny TV that got few channels.

Review 25:Large and comfortable. Well-equipped kitchen.

Review 26:- no A/C - ants in room - internet did not work, TV as well

Review 27:- just few steps from pont d'arc

Review 28:All little probs resolved swiftly

Review 29:Location (proximity to Pont d'Arc) tranquility, space, river view, ...

Review 30:Basic room for 2 dark and airless Sofa bed which left little room when pulled out

Review 31:Good position Quiet

Review 32:WIFI- out of order

Review 33:Friendly staff, great location

Review 34:Balcony on top floor too small to sit out. Need to book ground or first floor! Top floor, less space and very very hot.

Review 35:Location is good for canoeing. Nice view over the gardens down to the river. Fantastic restaurant next door (Charmes, needs reservation). Good value for money. Breakfast available at the camping next door.Staff helpful and friendly.

Review 36:No proper bed. Advertised Wifi not working and apparently no effort being made to remedy situation. Lack of security. No kettle or tea cups or mugs in 'fully equipped kitchen'. Poor (lack of) management.

Review 37:During our stay wifi wasn't working. Could do with more cooking utensils.

Review 38:Very nice room with kitchenette. Staff was friendly and helpful and could speak English. Apartment was very clean and roomy.

Review 39:The way there. If you have even a minimal amount of fear of heights, then totally avoid going on the road leading along the 'Gorges d'Ardèche'. It's 36kms long and takes you on sharp turns over HUGE cliffs. There is a much easier way to reach the domain if you go through Vallon Pont d'Arc itself. Check your roadmap!

Review 40:Really clean and large groundfloor appartment. Though we noticed that our appartment was twice as large than the others on the grond floor. You walked straight from your appartment into the garden and the river Ardèche is only 50meters away. Next door you can rent a kayak. But better is to rent one in the town of Vallon, 7km away, and kayak to the stop nextdoor to the domaine. That way you get the scenic route underneath the 'Pont d'Arc'. We walked to Vallon in the morning and went back this way. Nice walk too.

Review 41:The staff were ver relaxed and friendly and could not have been more helpful. Fantastic restaurant next door, Restaurant de Chames! Brilliant staff there that went out of their way to make me welcome and served delicious food and wine.

Review 42:The staff does not work from 12 to 3 everyday and the reception desk is not open on Wednesdays and Sundays. Seems odd for a hotel, doesn't it?

Review 43:The location on the river was ideal. There was a nice restaurant nearby.

Review 46:The residence is approx 3 kms from Vallon Pont d'Arc but this is only a short drive to all facilities, shops, restaurants and canoe centres. The location is very quiet and peaceful and we would certainly head back there. The reception staff/manager was very helpful in providing information on the area. The bed was a pleasure to sleep in as opposed to the usual uncomfortable hotel beds that are normally found.

Review 47:The restaurant with unfriendly stuff and bad opening times

Review 48:The staff was very friendly! The Location is amazing, beautiful nature! Kitchen in the room

Review 49:The location, the large rooms, comfortable bed, quiet

Review 50:Location, restaurant next door, tourist advise from reception...

Review 51:Excellent Staff Excellent View

Review 52:We absolutely adored our time with you. Wonderful location and stunning room. Thank you

Review 53:Lovely accom in beautiful surroundings

Review 54:La situation géographique
