Reviews for Hôtel balladins Cherbourg / Octeville

Review 1:The Bad was uncomfortable, composed of two 80cm "thin" beds that drifted away if one comes in the centre. I finally used the spare bead / sofa to get some quality sleep.

Review 2:Nothing special to mantion

Review 3:No problems

Review 4:Arrived late due to ferry delay but rang them and they gave code for the door and keys were left for us. Very impressed with service and staff who spoke English.

Review 5:Bathroom had a strange smell so only used it when absolutely necessary, and the WIFI cut out after about 30mins so you kept having to refresh it.

Review 6:Other than the fact that it was a slight walk away it was right outside a supermarket do that was useful, as we had a microwave which was useful. Plus the beds were very comfortable so had a good nights sleep.

Review 7:Entrance of hotel locked upon arrival I thought the hotel was closed until i saw someone walking around inside. I was then told to enter via the back door.

Review 8:Free Parking

Review 9:We arrived before 1730 and had no access to back code on our booking reference so could not get in. The breakfast was very poor. No hot food, not even a supply of bread and a toaster. Other hotels with similar budget breakfast provide scrabbled egg and bacon. Ref. B and B hotels

Review 10:Comfortable bed

Review 11:we we're going to go out to eat but because I was tired my husband went to get something to eat in our room. On returning the combination he was given for getting back in was not working and luckily I was in bedroom just above entrance and heard him shout. There were no staff and I don't know how we would have got in if we had both gone out. I also feel that, for the price, some fresh fruits, cheese, could have been offered at breakfast. There is no lift

Review 12:The rooms very nice and comfortable bed. There is also a microwave in the room which is useful as there is no food on offer

Review 13:The shower curtain

Review 14:For a budget hotel it was excellent value and the staff were really pleasant. Easy to find just followed the signposts. Plenty of free parking as well

Review 15:Traffic noise during the night (Friday) Would probably have slept better in a room at the rear of the hotel.

Review 16:Friendly staff. Restaurant next door for dinner.

Review 17:Reception only open until 11am & 5pm - 8pm. (Late check in)

Review 18:Free wifi, TV (English channels too) & free parking. Good location if you have a car to drive the short distance down to Cite De La Mer.

Review 19:They speak French only and have no idea about what English is. The reception has impossible opening times: it closes at 8 p.m. and at 11 in the morning on Sunday. It's also closed at lunchtime.

Review 20:The only negative was that we found both rooms smelled very strongly of cigarette smoke.

Review 21:Good value for money. Not too far from the port which was ideal as we arrived late in the evening and needed somewhere to stay after a long journey before moving on the following day. Clean and tidy

Review 22:First impressions form outside but don't be put off.

Review 23:For 45.5 Euros don't expect the Ritz but it is clean, comfortable and excellent value for money. Didn't sample the breakfast but the restaurant in the same building is very good.

Review 24:Front desk closes very nearly too early for later ferry arrivals. Local restaurants closed by nine p.m. (eat down town).

Review 25:Good room value, clean. No lift - leave luggage in car in secure free car park.

Review 26:I didn't like the fact that on my first day I had to wait for other users of the hotel the open the doors for me since there were no personnel at the moment (Sunday evening).

Review 27:I liked the food and the room. The personnel was also very kind.

Review 28:The staff, and overall value for money.

Review 29:Problems with satnav made it difficult to find

Review 30:Great value, good breakfast, ample car parking space

Review 31:no tea & coffee making facilities in the room

Review 32:good location and easy parking comfortable room enjoyable breakfast

Review 33:The room was small, the beds also. The bathroom needs attention

Review 34:Not a lot.

Review 35:Poor bed - bouncy and giving bad support and a bad night's sleep.

Review 36:Not too far from ferry terminal

Review 37:Main road.

Review 38:Cooking facilities.

Review 39:1. Availability of staff. 2. Practical location for an overnight stay before being on the road following day. 3. Well served continental breakfast.
